QUICK NOTES

Well obviously I’ll be covering that All-Atlantic Championship match. Great to see this title going to all sorts of other promotions outside of the US, and great to see those matches being used as a way to make Dark an attraction. Of course, most everything else on the card is the usual content, but it is nice to see Ari Daivari and Slim J getting AEW matches on top of being part of ROH Death Before Dishonor.

7/22/22, OTT Poetry Slam, AEW All-Atlantic Championship: PAC VS L.J. Cleary!

The Bastard continues to travel Europe defending this title, and he is in Ireland for Over The Top Wrestling! But will Pac be leaving with this title? Or will the “King of Ignition” fire up and take the throne?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, another chapter of this young title’s story begins!

Fans are of course on LJ’s side as the hometown hero, but there are those on Pac’s side. The two circle with the bell, stare down, and Pac eggs LJ on. They approach, tie up, and Pac powers LJ to the corner. The ref counts, Pac lets off, and he pats LJ on the shoulder. But LJ turns it around, and he pats Pac on the shoulder. LJ eggs Pac on, they circle again, and tie up with knuckle locks. Pac wrenches, LJ rolls and wrenches, but Pac rolls and handsprings and wrenches. Pac YANKS the arm, slips around and headlocks to then wrench and shove LJ. Pac eggs LJ on and fans fire up. LJ keeps cool and the fans keep dueling.

LJ and Pac circle, tie up, and Pac wrenches to a wristlock to YANK the arm again. Pac YANKS the arm again, wrenches it again, but LJ rolls, spins and wrenches back! Pac spins, wrenches, LJ spins and bridges and handsprings to WRING Pac out! Fans fire up and Pac looks shocked! Pac gets up and to the ropes, but LJ patiently waits. They tie up again and Pac powers LJ to ropes. Pac lets off slowly, but then he clinches and headlocks for a takeover. LJ keeps his shoulder up, fans rally, and LJ fights up to power out, only for Pac to run LJ over. Pac speeds up, LJ hurdles and Pac leaps. LJ comes back, Pac bypasses and hurdles but LJ leaps.

Pac avoids LJ’s dropkick and wags his finger. Fans fire up and LJ gets to a corner. Pac bumps LJ off buckles, fans duel, and Pac stalks LJ. Pac bumps LJ off more buckles, and he looms over LJ. LJ gets up and CHOPS! Pac whips LJ corner to corner, run sin, but LJ slips out and slides under! LJ then goes to the apron to shoulder in, slingshot up and over, then springboard FLYING ARM-DRAG! But Pac handsprings through! But LJ CALF KICKS him down! Pac scrambles out of the ring, fans move aside, and LJ builds speed, only for Pac to go around the corner. Fans boo but LJ goes out after him. Pac kicks low and smacks LJ off the apron!

LJ gets in the ring, Pac snarls and stands on LJ at the ropes! The ref counts, Pac steps off at 4, and Pac talks trash. Pac stomps LJ, fans duel, but Pac tells fans to shut up. Pac stomps LJ more, talks some more trash, then he takes his time going to the corner. Pac climbs up, LJ stands, and Pac missile dropkicks! LJ goes down hard and flops out of the ring! Pac kips up, fans fire up, and fans move aside again. Pac steps out rather than dives, and he sits LJ up to KICK him down! The ring count starts, Pac sits LJ up to KICK again! LJ flounders but Pac drags LJ up. Fans rally but Pac scuffs LJ and goes into the ring.

Fans boo but Pac soaks it up. LJ gets in the ring but Pac stomps him down! Pac stomps LJ more, then clamps on a chinlock. Pac bridges back to pull on the head, but LJ endures and moves around. Fans rally up as LJ fights back up, throws body shots, but Pac whips and SNAP GERMANS him! LJ flounders away and Pac soaks up more heat. Pac looms over LJ but LJ pushes him away, so Pac stomps him again. Fans rally up, Pac tells them to shut it and he kicks LJ around. LJ pushes back but Pac stomps him down again. Fans still rally, “Let’s Go, LJ!” Pac looms over LJ, dares him to get up, and LJ grabs at Pac’s wrist.

LJ stands up, Pac grins, but LJ CHOPS him! And CHOPS! Pac clinches and whips but LJ reverses! Pac goes out, shoulders back in and slingshots up and over. LJ staggers, but he blocks the superkick to SPINNING HEEL KICK! Fans fire up as Pac goes down! A standing count starts but both men stand at 4 of 10. LJ CHOPS and fires off forearms and haymakers on Pac! Fans fire up but Pac shoves LJ away. LJ ducks ‘n’ dodges to LEAPING LARIAT! Fans fire up more while LJ and Pac go to opposite corner. LJ run sin, Pac kicks him first! Pac puts LJ on the apron, but LJ GAMANGIRIS! LJ goes up and jumps in, DOUBLE STOMP to the back! Cover, TWO!

LJ is a little frustrated but fans rally up as he focuses. LJ hurries over but Pac elbows him down! Pac scoops and SLAMS LJ, then goes to the corner. Pac climbs back up, aims as LJ stands again, but LJ gets under the dropkick! LJ goes around, springboard BOOT! LJ fireman’s carries for an USHIGOROSHI! Cover, TWO! Pac survives and fans fire up! LJ and Pac stir, and LJ gets to a corner. Pac rises as LIJ hops up, and LJ leaps! But Pac stops the Destroyer! LJ CLUBS Pac, SOBATS and front kicks to SOBAT again! That’s very Pac like! LJ runs, but Pac SOBATS! And front kicks! And SOBATS again! Pac shows LJ how it’s done, then runs, into a SUPERKICK!

Fans are thunderous as the standing count returns. “This is Awesome!” as both men stir. LJ gets to a corner and drags himself up at 5 of 10. Pac sits up in a daze but also makes it to a corner. LJ runs corner to corner but Pac SUPERKICKS him down! LJ is in a drop zone and Pac goes up top! Fans boo, but LJ manages to roll to the ropes. Pac hops down and he kicks LJ back in. But LJ springs up to GAMANGIRI! LJ climbs up after Pac, drags Pac up, SUPERPLEX!! Fans fire up and Pac flops out of the ring. LJ runs and FLIES with a 450 Tope! Direct hit and LJ hurries to put Pac in! LJ gets up and FLYING DESTROYER!!

Pac staggers, LJ is up top again, another FLYING DESTROYER!! Cover, TWO!!! Pac survives and LJ can’t believe it! LJ hurries to drag Pac up but Pac WRINGS LJ’s arm out! And BRUTALIZER!! LJ endures, but he taps out! Pac wins!

Winner: Pac, by submission (still AEW All-Atlantic Championship)

A standing ovation from the OTT fans! LJ gave it his all but Pac keeps this belt around his waist! Where else will The Bastard go on his journey as the inaugural All-Atlantic Champion?
