As soon as the bell rings, Silver LAUNCHES himself at Butcher & Blade! Silver fires off hands, the ref has Hangman stay back, but Blade HOTSHOTS and Butcher CLOBBERS Silver! Butcher drags Silver up, tags in Blade, and Butcher CHOPS! Blade throws forearms, digs his boots in, but the ref counts. Blade lets off at 4, then he drags Silver up again. Blade CHOPS Silver, tags Butcher, then CHOKES Silver on the ropes. Blade lets off but Butcher CHOKES Silver now! The ref counts, Butcher lets off, and Butcher CHOPS Silver against ropes. Silver falls, Butcher taunts Hangman, then he DIGS Silver’s face into the ropes!

The ref counts, Butcher lets off and he tags Blade. Blade stomps a mudhole into Silver, but lets off at 4 to taunt Hangman. Blade drags Silver up, snarls, but the fans rally up. Blade stands Silver up, but Silver suplexes first! Hot tag to Hangman! Fans fire up and Hangman rallies on Blade, hits Butcher, BOOTS Blade again, then triangle jump LARIATS Butcher down! Hangman keeps his cool, fans rally up again, but Butcher trips Hangman up to RAM him into railing! Butcher RAMS Hangman into apron, then back into railing! Butcher puts Hangman in, Blade tags him in, and Butcher digs his knee into Hangman at the ropes! The ref counts, Butcher lets off at 4, and Rampage goes picture in picture.

Butcher drags Hangman back up, put shim in a corner and CHOPS him! And CHOPS him, and whips him corner to corner hard! Hangman bounces off buckles and hits the mat. Butcher glares at Silver, and then he stands on Hangman! Butcher drags Hangman up, bumps him off buckles, and CHOPS him! Hangman fires forearms in return! Butcher pushes Hangman back to CHOP and CHOP and CHOP! Butcher bumps Hangman off more buckles, tags in Blade, and Blade snapmares to clamp on a chinlock. Hangman endures as Blade leans on the hold. Hangman ROCKS Blade with a forearm, then another! Blade claws Hangman’s eyes! The ref reprimands but Hangman fights back, throwing forearms on Blade and Butcher! Blade runs in but Hangman hurdles, hot tag to Silver! Fans fire up for Johnny Hungy as he rallies on the mercs! Silver FLAPJACKS Blade into Butcher! Alex Reynolds has been avenged! Hangman and Silver hug it out, will they and the rest of the Dark Order once again  head towards AEW gold?

AEW takes a closer look at Death Before Dishonor’s ROH Pure Championship match.

Wheeler Yuta is chuckling as he tells Daniel Garcia, “You’re breaking my heart. I guess I made things a little personal bringing up that car accident, huh?” Garcia points out Yuta belittling the car accident that almost ended Garcia’s life. Six months of recovery and his mom pushing him in a wheelchair, helping him on and off the toilet. This isn’t about wrestling anymore. But this will be under Pure Wrestling Rules, that is Yuta’s game. Yuta makes sure Garcia never challenges for this title again. Garcia says he’ll take Yuta down to the canvas, twist his body into the most uncomfortable ways he can imagine, and make him tap out. Who follows through with their promises at Death Before Dishonor?

The Swiss Cyborg also has a match at ROH DBD as he takes on Jonathan Gresham for THE ROH World Championship! What will Claudio have to say about that match? We’ll see, after the break.

#TYGASTYLE got cheated out of the ROH World Championship when Jonathan Gresham stooped to new lows alongside Tully Blanchard. But his mentor said this match with the #INHUMAN Angel Dorado will help him get going again. Will peace, love and pro-wrestling prevail? Or will Moriarty have to unlock something more to get to that new level?

The bell rings and fans rally as the two stare down. The two shake hands to show there is respect here, and they tie up. They go around, Moriarty waistlocks and SLAMS Dante down, then floats to a facelock. Dante slips out to facelock back, but Moriarty slips through to facelock again. Moriarty wrenches and wristlocks, but Dante slips through to wrench and wristlock back. Moriarty spins, slips through, shoots around, spins Dante and has a cravat. Fans rally as Dante endures the neck wrench. Dante breaks the grip and has Moriarty’s arm to wrench and spin and wrench and flying-mare to a headlock, but Moriarty just slips right out!

Moriarty has an armlock to a hammerlock and he leans on Dante. Fans rally for this great technical exchange, but Dante fights up to his feet. Moriarty wants a half nelson but Dante breaks that to spin and trip Moriarty. Dante has the arm, La Magistrol, TWO! Moriarty trips Dante, does a Heisman pose then speeds things up. Dante waits at the ropes, Moriarty checks his chin but he’s alright. Dante gives Moriarty space to return and the two go again. They tie up, Moriarty gets a leg, Dante blocks the takedown and headlocks for a takeover. Moriarty endures, rolls Dante to a cover, ONE! Dante holds on, Moriarty wrenches free and has an ELBOW BREAKER! Dante staggers but runs back in, into a GUILLOTINE! Moriarty has Dante caught with the body scissors but Dante stays on his feet! So Moriarty hits a HALF HATCH SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Moriarty just rolls back to rain down forearms! Moriarty then lets off and fires up!

Sydal applauds as Moriarty stomps Dante. Moriarty brings Dante up, clinches, and EuroUppers! Dante staggers back and wobbles, but Moriarty wrenches to a Cording Hold. Moriarty wrangles Dante down to the mat to keep on that armlock, also digging a knee into Dante’s face. Dante fights up, throws body shots, but Moriarty CLOBBERS Dante as Rampage goes to break!

Fyter Fest returns and Moriarty is up top. Dante runs up to DRAGON RANA Moriarty down! Fans are thunderous and Sydal rallies both his students. But wait! Stokely Hathaway walks out here! Stokely is apparently still very interested in Moriarty but Moriarty ignores him to run at Dante. Dante slips out to the apron and Moriarty hits buckles! Moriarty rushes Dante again but Dante slingshots up and over to the adjacent side! GAMANGIRI! Moriarty staggers while Dante climbs, but Moriarty rushes to the corner! Dante shoves Moriarty away but Moriarty stands up, for the CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Moriarty survives but Dante is right on him!

Dante half nelsons but Moriarty fights the rest. Dante CLUBS away but Moriarty elbows back! Dante staggers and Moriarty rushes in. Dante springboards up and over, but Moriarty tiger feints through! Dante rushes in now, but Moriarty slides under to roll Dante, TWO! BORDER CITY STRETCH!! Dante endures the overhook crossface, manages to move around, and gets the ROPEBREAK! Moriarty lets go at the count of 4, and he snarls as he stomps away on Dante! Stokely applauds but Moriarty drags Dante up. Moriarty suplexes, but Dante slips out to half nelson! Fans are thunderous again but Dante is furious. Stokely applauds, Sydal coaches both his guys, and Dante goes to the apron. Dante jumps and jumps, NOSE- NO, Moriarty gets under! Dante hurries to O’Conner Roll, TWO! Moriarty has it now, and holds ropes!! Moriarty wins!!

Ian Riccaboni believes Mercedes Martinez is going to do anything she can to hold on to this title. And Caprice Coleman says this isn’t a beauty pageant or a popularity contest, this is who hits the hardest, who wrestles the best, and who can finish their opponent first. Serena Deeb says she is at the highest level of her game, and there is no woman who can touch her. But Mercedes says that at DBD, she walks in as champion, and walks out as champion. Will the OG Badass show the Professor of Pro-Wrestling that she’s still got something to learn in this business?

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter w/ Rebel VS Skye Blue & Ashley D’Amboise!

The Doctor and her assistants have been back for a little bit already, but tonight is the night they get back in the ring! Will the “Queen of Harts” prove she is still the Face of AEW? Or will she and Hayter still be winless as a duo?

The teams sort out and Britt starts with Skye. They circle, fans rally for the “DMD! DMD!” as she ties up with Skye. Britt wrenches to wristlock, and then she brings Skye down with a double wristlock. Britt makes that a cover, ONE but Britt holds onto the arm. Britt wrenches and YANKS Skye’s arm, but Skye cartwheels through to wristlock back! Britt slaps the arm away then ROCKS Skye! And she throws Skye by her hair! Fans still spell it with her, “D! M! D!” Britt stands Skye against the ropes to fire off forearms, then she whips Skye to ropes. Skye reverses and follows, goes Matrix, but Britt sweeps the arms! Cover, TWO!

SUPERKICK! Skye sits up in a daze and Britt smiles as she drags Skye back up. Tag to Hayter, she bumps Skye off buckles and stomps a mudhole into her. The ref counts, Hayter lets off, and Britt CHOKES Skye! Skye shakes Britt off but Hayter drags her up. Hayter whips Skye back into the corner, then sucker punches D’Amboise! Hayter rushes back in corner to corner but Skye slips out to the apron! Hayter stops from hitting buckles, but Skye ROCKS her with a forearm! The Acclaimed, the Gunn Club and their posses are here, as is “Atlanta’s finest,” rap artist Lil’ Scrappy! Scrappy says he’s here to be the host and judge of the rap battle. He told “Big B” Billy that he’ll call this straight down the middle. But they did the coin toss in the back, so the first turn goes to Gunn Club. Now remember, the winner of this gets to choose the stipulations for a tag team match between The Acclaimed and the Gunn Club. So let’s get it on! Austin does a mic check before he gets going. “Aight, look, I’m not scared of you, mister! Why would I be scared of one of Bobby Lashley’s sisters?” Oof…

But Austin ain’t done! “Here’s a secret! You dated Kris Stat. Lemme tell you where you went wrong with dat! I’ll give y’all a teaser. It’s cuz Edward Scissorhands over here couldn’t please her. Now before you talk about Daddy Ass, your dad is Rich Caster. So how ’bout we talk ’bout which daddy’s career ended faster? He played Tight End. Bowens, is that giving you a fever? When y’all two roleplay, is that why you’re always the Wide Receiver?” Bowens wants at Austin but his side holds him back. Austin says, “Hold on, The Acclaimed and the Gunns, I’ll end it right here in GEORGIA~! So have a great day, and I got two words for ya!” Gunn Club says SUCK IT!!

Scrappy is surprised, even Daddy Ass got in on that. But Caster, where you at? Let’s go, Acclaimed. Caster says, “Yo. Yo! YO! YO! Listen. On the mic, I’m untouchable, you only playin’. You rappin’, that’s cultural appropriation. A White guy with a tough little rap voice. Your whole style’s booty, that’s why they call you Ass Boys!” Scrappy is stunned but Austin’s got his second turn. “You say you’re the best ra-ra-ra-wrassler alive, but you ain’t even good at that. I’d say stick to rap, but shiii, you ain’t even good at dat! Wassup with that? Oh by the way, JOHN CENA WANTS HIS GIMMICK BACK!” The whole Gunn Club goes “You Can’t See Me!”

Scrappy says that was harsh, but Caster gets to respond. “Yo, Austin Gunn, wow, you never thought to run. I been hot since your dumb dad was called The One. I’m the real star player, run the hearts of young. I’ll serve you and your chick with my awesome tongue. Yo, I thought you had heat, you haven’t spoke to me once. Bowens’ got a bigger spark when he’s holding blunts! Now I give it to you raw so you’re closer to done. Serving you is the only way I’m owning a Gunn. I’ll beat you, Colten and Billy from Oakland to Philly, choking you silly. Why? Cuz I’m so on my grizzy, throwing a milli, throwing up bombs. You know the Acclaimed on my Zac Wilson, I be showing your mom!

“Showing the skill! Go for the kill! Yo, you only go for hair replacement surgery, I opened the bill!” Caster serves Austin with an envelope! Scrappy feels that was inappropriate but… Caster says he’ll shut this down real quick. “How’s it feel to have a dad known for showing his crotch? And to do reality shows that nobody watched? You tried to work in ROH but your ass couldn’t. Tony bought the whole company just to burn your match footage! I rap bullets ’til the fans make the clap noise. No, I’m not a gun guy, that would be a bad choice. But I’ll still put a shell on you like a Blastoise. And no matter what, you’re just a couple of ASS BOYS!!”

Fans are thunderous and it’s already clear who won this! But Scrappy says Austin better try to get back, Caster threw Billy in it. Austin wavers, but Bowens says Austin is choking! His Buzz Lightyear lookin’ ass is shaking! Atlanta, Austin is choking! Scrappy asks Austin, but Austin says he is NOT an Ass Boy! Well, the Acclaimed won!

Billy DECKS Scrappy!! And all hell breaks loose! Billy tosses the posse so that his sons could get after The Acclaimed! COLT 45 on Bowens! Billy brings out a trash can and tosses it to Austin! Colten feeds Caster to the TRASH CAN SMASH! The Gunn Club doesn’t care that they lost, they’re standing tall. But will the Acclaimed choose a match that makes the Gunn Club fall?

Mark Henry speaks with tonight’s main eventers.

The World’s Strongest Man says Jay Lethal has been “dragging Samoa Joe’s name through the mud,” so it was really cool to see The Fallen Angel stand up for Joe. Christopher Daniels thanks Mark for saying that, but he says Joe doesn’t need anyone sticking up for him. Joe’s actions will speak for him at ROH Death Before Dishonor. But Daniels was just sick of hearing some punk smear Joe’s good name. Lethal says hold on. First of all, Mark was asking Lethal something. And if Lethal is being perfectly honest, Daniels shouldn’t be talking. And Daniels is worried about Joe’s name being dragged through the mud when that’s exactly what will happen to Daniels tonight.

Sonjay Dutt tells Daniels that “this is a classic example of when running your mouth goes wrong. Terribly wrong!” Daniels is sick of all the talking! Mark, can you please say your catchphrase so we can go to the ring and get this going? Well, looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s time for the main event! Will the Fallen Angel make sure to shut up Jay Lethal here before he even gets to Death Before Dishonor?

Daniels dodges, he ROCKS Lethal, and fans fire up for the “FALLEN ANGEL!” Daniels whips Lethal to ropes, Lethal KICKS him back then ENZIGURIS! Daniels falls and Lethal finally takes off his vest. Lethal CHOPS Daniels, bumps him off buckles, and then JABS away in the corner. Lethal lets off at 4, whips corner to corner, but Daniels reverses! Lethal goes up and MOONSAULTS, but Daniels dodges!

Lethal hits the mat, fans fire up and Daniels scoops Lethal to SLAM him! Daniels goes to the apron to slingshot ELBOW DROP! Cover, ONE!! Lethal gets to ropes but Daniels is after him. Daniels brings Lethal up, whips him to ropes, then elbows him down! Cover, TWO! Lethal checks his face but Daniels CLUBS him. Daniels flounders, Lethal soaks up the heat, and a ring count starts. Daniels gets back on the apron, he blocks Lethal’s punch to ROCK him back! But Lethal ducks the chop to triangle jump DROPKICK Daniels down! Lethal builds speed again, to DIVE again! Daniels hits railings and falls in a heap! Lethal grins as he goes back into the ring. Daniels sits up while Lethal distracts the ref, and Sonjay stomps away on Daniels!

Sonjay gets away with all that, swaggers around with that pencil, and Lethal goes out to RAM Daniels into the apron. Lethal puts Daniels in, drags Daniels up, and he snapmares him into a chinlock. Lethal is fired up as he mocks the Samoa Joe chants and the hang loose hand gesture. Daniels sits up but Lethal brings him around to EuroUpper. Daniels wobbles, Lethal EuroUppers him again! And again! Daniels falls over and Lethal brings him into a facelock.

Lethal grinds Daniels down again, but Daniels throws body shots! Lethal throws knees then another EuroUpper, but Daniels catches it to a backslide! TWO, and Lethal scoops Daniels for a BACKBREAKER! Lethal holds on, brings Daniels up and whips him to ropes. Hip toss and cartwheel for a BASEMENT DROPKICK! Lethal grins and soaks up the heat as Daniels goes to a corner. Fyter Fest returns to single picture and Lethal runs in to forearm smash! Lethal puts Daniels up top, slashes his throat a la Joe, and he tucks Daniels in! Daniels CLUBS Lethal to keep him from stealing Joe’s moves! Daniels BOOTS Lethal, but Lethal avoids the missile dropkick!

SUPERKICK! Daniels is down and Lethal catches his breath. Lethal whips Daniels, hip tosses but Daniels blocks! Daniels tries a hip toss of his own but Lethal blocks by grapping the plant leg. So Daniels KNEES Lethal down with the other! Fans fire up while both men are down, and Daniels drags himself to ropes. Sonjay gets on the apron to shout at Lethal. Lethal gets up, runs in, but misses and hits buckles! Daniels rallies with forearms and lariats, then he whips Lethal to a corner. Daniels runs in to forearm smash! Daniels climbs up, rains down fists, but Lethal carries Daniels away. Daniels slips off to STO!

Fans fire up with Daniels and he waits on Lethal. Lethal stands, Daniels whips but Lethal holds ropes to elbow back. Lethal runs in, into a BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Lethal survives but Daniels says he’ll finish this! Fans fire up, Daniels drags Lethal up, URE- NO, Lethal arm-drags free! Daniels comes back, into the LETHAL COMBINATION! Backbreaker and Complete Shot take Daniels down, and Lethal heads to the corner. Lethal climbs, tells fans up theirs, and then aims at Daniels, HAIL TO THE- NO, Daniels sticks his boot up, only for Lethal to catch it! Lethal wags his finger, steps through, but into a cradle! TWO!!

Lethal BOOTS Daniels right down! Fans say “This is Awesome!” as Lethal says he’ll end this. Lethal stands Daniels up, runs and handsprings, but Daniels lets him go up and over! Daniels kicks low, hooks Lethal up, ANGEL’S – NO, back drop! Handspring, LETHAL INJECTION!! Cover, Lethal wins!

Two ROH legends battled, and Lethal is the legend standing tall! But then Sonjay stomps Daniels to add insult to injury! Fans boo but Sonjay hauls Daniels up so Singh can trophy lift and DROP Daniels to the floor!! That was a ten foot drop at least! Lethal mocks Joe more as he wraps on the COQUINA CLUTCH!! Sonjay talks trash on Joe while Daniels suffers! Daniels is red and passing out, Sonjay says that’ll be Joe on Saturday! Fans boo as Lethal lets Daniels go, but will Lethal do all this to Samoa Joe at Death Before Dishonor?

My Thoughts:

An awesome night for Rampage to help finish off Fyter Fest. Great opener out of Hangman & Silver VS Butcher & Blade, and of course Hangman & Silver win to get Hangman going again. Moriarty VS Dante was also great stuff, these guys are definitely the building blocks of the future. Moriarty cheating to win was a surprise, and Sydal stepping up to challenge Moriarty makes sense. I think Moriarty wins that one, too, and then he sides with Stokely Hathaway since he didn’t leave with him tonight. And of course Britt & Hayter win when they’re put up against Skye & D’Amboise. This is more a shame for Skye Blue. She was running pretty hot not too long ago, with the beginnings of feuds with Serena Deeb and The Baddies, but there was just no follow through.

Good vignettes to hype up the ROH Pure and ROH Women’s World Championship matches, and a good promo from Claudio to hype up the ROH World Championship match. As I’ve said before, Death Before Dishonor is quite the card, and those matches are hard to call. I would love if Claudio became world champion, but that all depends on the plans for ROH. Wardlow also had a good promo that called out pretty much every company that works with AEW, and I would love if the TNT Championship did more crossover matches. While the All-Atlantic Championship is a title that can visit other promotions, other promotions can send their stars to AEW to challenge Wardlow. I definitely want to see Wardlow taking on some NJPW guys.

That rap battle was wild. They were both digging into each other really hard to really give this feud some heat past Billy’s betrayal. I didn’t even realize Caster was part of the Bobby Lashley’s Sisters promo from years ago, but then Caster just demolished Austin after that. While the Gunn Club stood tall and used the trash can, pretty sure Acclaimed will win whatever No Disqualification tag match they have. And we got a great main event from Lethal and Daniels, but naturally Lethal wins with him going into the ROH World TV Championship match. I almost expected Joe to return and run Lethal off, but I guess that’d muddy the math. Lethal stands tall because I don’t see Joe losing the title, and Joe will help lead the way as ROH eventually gets back on a weekly programming schedule.
