Trish Stratus is here!
Toronto goes wild for another of their hometown heroes as the seven-time WWE Women’s Champion and Hall of Famer heads to the ring. Trish gets the mic as fans cheer for her. “Guys, oh, man. It feels so good to be here. It feels so good to be home. And I’m not just talking about Toronto. I’m talking about in this ring. Between these ropes. I have to say, it’ll never not feel like home between these ropes. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately.” But wait! Here comes Bayley, Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky! They interrupt the living legend’s homecoming, but for what reason? We’ll see, after the break.
Raw returns and Bayley has a mic to say, “I’m so excited! And we had to come out here. I mean, I told you guys, Raw is literally the best show to be. We’re in the ring with Trish Freakin’ Stratus! We’re huge fans!” Iyo says she’s a BIG fan! Trish daisuki! Yes, she’s been Trish’s number one fan for so long, Trish is such a legend, international legend even. America, Japan, New Zealand, all that. But um… What’s she even doing here? Trish tells them that there’s a big match happening later tonight. It’s a big deal, as a fellow Torontonian in Edge is back in the ring after a decade, so Trish is here to support him.
And after being so rudely interrupted, as you’re clearly not Canadians- Dakota tells Trish that these three don’t care what she has to say! Iyo says, “I don’t like you!” Bayley and her team laugh it up, none of them like Trish because they’re sick of her riding their coattails during this Canada tour. They were in Kingston and London, Ontario, and they’re here now–you’re welcome, by the way–and Trish is always on them! They’re getting really, really sick of it. This is their ring now. Trish is the past. Raw is their show, Trish is the past. They run things, so who the hell does Trish think she is?!
Fans boo, but here comes BIANCA BELAIR! The RawEST Women’s Champion marches to the ring to support Trish! “Who in the hell is Trish Stratus? Bayley, you not even in the same Stratusphere. See, Trish walked so that we all could run. So what you should be doing is thanking Trish, because there would be no Bayley without Trish Stratus.” But if Bayley’s acting up, Bianca will tell her who the hell Trish is: a trailblazer, a legend, and Toronto is her city! So stop being disrespectful. Fans rally behind the EST and Bayley is annoyed. Bianca says she doesn’t need to defend Trish, Trish can defend herself.
Trish tells Bayley that she can real quick go from “I am retired,” to “I was retired” if Bayley doesn’t stop running her mouth. Oh, okay. Since we’re taking jackets off… Trish is a little stupid, but there’s three of them and only two of you. Simple math, sweetie: Trish & Bianca are two… But then Alexa Bliss & Asuka head out! “And the future Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka & Alexa Bliss, well that makes, one two three, oh that makes four!” Oh, well, they’re all lucky Bayley is feeling generous. Bayley will let this one slide, and we’ll see everyone at Clash at the Castle. Oh, well that’s if you make it there. Good luck to Bayley’s girls, they’re gonna need it.
The 4v3 gets Bayley to back down, but right up next will be the first semifinal match of this tournament! Will Kai & Sky take control of the bracket? Or will they not be ready for Asuka & Bliss?

She’s been beating Dominik up so much, he might be starting to enjoy it! And as for Daddy Rey, Finn says he keeps Rey in his jacket pocket. Rey is “6 1 MINE!” Priest likes that one. Ciampa KNEES Lashley, hooks him up, but Lashley fights free and dodges! SPEAR!! Cover, Miz breaks it in time!
Styles CLOBBERS Miz with a forearm! Miz falls out of the ring, so Styles SLINGSHOT FOREARMS Miz down! Fans are thunderous but LUMIS GRABS STYLES!! The security rushes him, and- Wait, that wasn’t Lumis?! Styles is just as startled as anyone, but he runs at Styles, into a BOOT! But then the guard in riot gear takes off his helmet, and THAT IS LUMIS!! Fans are going nuts as Lumis GRABS MIZ! That’s a disqualification!!
Winners: The Miz & Tommaso Ciampa, by disqualification
Was it MIZ Lumis was after all along? He’s dragging Miz into the shadows!! Miz is being silenced by Lumis!! Ciampa gets up, and he attacks Lashley anyway! Styles ROCKS Ciampa, then springboards to PHENOMENAL FOREARM Ciampa down! And then Lashley takes aim again and fans fire up! Styles stands Ciampa up for Lashley, for a SPEAR!! But what about The Miz?! Does no one care what Lumis might do to him!?
JOHNNY GARGANO IS HERE?!?
HE IS!! The Rebel Heart is back in the WWE! Toronto is thunderous as Gargano goes to the ring! Gargano gets a mic as fans chant “Johnny Wrestling!” He puts the mic down to encourage them to get louder! Fans chant, “Welcome Back!” and “HOLY SH*T!” at the same time! Gargano says, “Well surprise, everybody! It’s been nine months since I’ve been in a wrestling ring, I gotta remember how to do this. Really quick, do I still talk into the mic like this? Like this? Yeah? First of all, than you guys for reminding me who I am. For those of you who don’t know, my name is Johnny Gargano. And I was kind of a big deal back in NXT.
“I’m a former NXT Champion, three-time North American Champion, Tag Team Champion, first-ever Triple Crown Champion in NXT History. As a matter of fact, I won those tag team titles in this very building! It is great to see you again, Toronto!” And since he’s been gone, there were many questions about where and when he’d show up again. And honestly, he had those same questions. For a long time, he wondered if he even wanted to do this anymore. But he remembered one day in particular, he was standing there, playing with his brand new, fresh, six-month-old baby, Baby Wrestling, which fans chant. Gargano says his son will appreciate that when he’s older.
But Gargano remembered that when he was younger, he had big, impossible dreams. He dreamt of becoming Intercontinental Champion, of becoming US Champion, of becoming the WWE WORLD CHAMPION, and wrestling at WrestleMania. So what kind of father would he be if he didn’t teach his son that even the biggest, most impossible dreams can come true? If you work hard enough, you can get anything you want out of life, he promises! When Gargano left WWE, he said you will never fail if you bet on yourself. And that is what he is doing! Gargano is betting on himself! And Gargano stands here, incredibly proud to say that Johnny Wrestling is back in the WWE!
And we’re just getting started! Wait, here comes (Austin) Theory! Theory and Gargano look at each other, and this is a reunion nine months in the making! Theory goes down to the ring with a mic to say, “Johnny… What? Is this real right now?” Theory joins Gargano in the ring and Gargano says hey. Fans chant, “Who’s Your Daddy?” Gargano says, “Me?” Theory tells Gargano that a lot has happened the last nine months. Yes, a lot has happened. Gargano changed a lot of diapers, watched a lot of Bluey, and he’s watched Theory. Theory’s changed, but it’s good to see him. Theory says yeah, but everyone knows.
A lot has changed: Theory became WWE United States Champion, and the youngest at that; he competed at WrestleMania already; and with this briefcase, he is on his way to becoming the NEW Undisputed WWE Universal Champion! Gargano hopes he does. Yeah, it’s almost like all of Gargano’s dreams were accomplished by Theory! Fans boo at Theory bragging but Theory says he has to tell Gargano this. “I couldn’t have done any of this without you. I couldn’t have. When we were in NXT together, you took me under your wing. And now I look around at all these idiots saying ‘What?’ We’re on Monday Night Raw!”
Theory says it’s like now, HE’s the veteran and Gargano’s the rookie! Think about it! Gargano can stand by Theory, be his caboose, carry Theory’s bags, and even better! He can just carry the MITB briefcase to hand it to Theory when he becomes the NEW Undisputed WWE Universal Champion! Fans boo and Theory says as good as that sounds, it seems like Theory can show Gargano the way! Or if Gargano doesn’t want to stand behind Theory and support him like he did in NXT, maybe Gargano can just go away. But no one wants to see that! Fans love seeing Gargano & Theory! They’re the Dynamic Duo! They’re untouchable!
Theory says for old time’s sake, the No Look High Five! Theory puts his hand out, and he wants Gargano to hit him with it! Go on, Johnny! Hit Theory! Okay. SUPERKICK!! Yep, Gargano hit him. Fans fire up as Gargano high-fives himself! Will Gargano’s first stop on Raw be to humble Theory?
Edge VS Damian Priest!
The Rated R Superstar founded the Judgement Day, now he vows to tear it down! But will he be stopped before he even begins? Or will it be the Punisher who faces the consequences of his actions?
Raw returns and the fans are going nuts for Edge, and his wife, Beth Phoenix, is in the front row! The bell rings and fans chant, “Welcome Home!” to Edge. Edge and Priest stare down, tie up, and Priest powers Edge back. Edge turns things around but Priest turns them back. Priest has Edge in a corner, gets up in Edge’s face, then lets off with a smirk. Priest backs away slowly and Edge settles down. Edge and Priest circle, tie up, and Priest puts Edge in a corner. Edge turns it around again, then he throws Priest out! Edge says up yours, Priest! Priest smirks and gets back in the ring. They circle again and tie up again.
Edge waistlocks, headlocks, but Priest powers up and out. Priest runs Edge over then roars at the fans! Fans boo but Priest soaks it up. Edge stands back up and pie faces Priest! Priest runs in but Edge throws him by his hair! Things speed up, Edge fakes Priest out and shoves him down! Fans fire up but Priest is furious! Priest runs in but is tossed right out! Priest paces in frustration while Edge waits. Fans rally behind Edge, Priest gets up on the apron, but he cools off before entering the ring. Priest and Edge circle, tie up again, and Edge waistlocks. Priest throws an elbow but Edge blocks it! Priest reaches down but Edge stays back.
Priest backs Edge down but Edge uses that to throw Priest into buckles! Edge wrenches, Priest pie faces him, but Priest still has to get the ropebreak. Priest then stomps Edge’s foot and DECKS Edge with a sucker punch! Fans boo but Priest tells Edge he’s gonna retire his ass! Priest puts Edge in a corner and HEADBUTTS him down! Priest whips Edge corner to corner, Edge slides out and waits on Priest. Priest rushes over, Edge slides back in. Then he slides out as Priest slides in. Priest slides out, into a LARIAT! Edge fires up with the fans, and then he storms back over to Priest. Edge brings Priest around, gets him up, and POWERBOMBS him on the barriers!
Priest bends back and flops to the floor while Edge paces about, and Raw goes picture in picture. Edge gets in the ring and the ring count climbs, fans cheer Edge on. Edge goes back out to fetch Priest, and he ROCKS Priest with a forearm. Priest staggers, Edge leads him to the ring to smack off the apron. Priest swings a punch but he misses by a mile, and Edge RAMS him into more barriers! Edge refreshes the count, follows Priest around the corner and follows him back into the ring. Priest swings, but Edge catches him! Priest resists the takedown but Edge still locks onto the arm! Priest scrambles away to avoid the crossface!
Edge runs to WRECK Priest with a dropkick! Priest hits barriers then falls down, and Edge goes back out to fetch him. Priest POSTS Edge! Edge wobbles and Priest BENDS Him against the crossbar! The ref counts, Priest lets off, and then he YANKS Edge into the post! Edge drops to his knees, but Priest stands him up to RAM him into barriers! Priest stomps away on Edge, then lets off to soak up the heat. Priest refreshes the count, fetches Edge into the ring, then drags Edge up. Priest suplexes for the BROKEN ARROW! Cover, TWO! Priest clamps onto Edge and drags him to a drop zone. Priest goes up top, Edge stands, and Priest hits a FLYING-
NO! Edge dodges and Priest crashes on the mat! Raw returns to single picture as both men stand up. Edge and Priest throw haymakers, DOUBLE LARIATS, and then DOUBLE BOOTS! Both men fall back down and fans fire up! Edge and Priest go to opposite ends, Edge hurries over to Priest and gives him a FLAPJACK! Priest flounders back up, into a LARIAT! And another! Edge whips Priest to a corner, but Priest reverses! Priest runs in but Edge dodges the splash! Priest ends up stuck in the ropes, Edge runs to give Priest a SWINGING NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Priest survives and fans rally back up for Edge.
Priest bails out, and Edge goes up the corner!? SUPER CROSSBODY!! Direct hit and down go both men! Fans lose their minds over Edge taking risks! The ring count climbs, Edge sits up first, and Edge gets in the ring at 5 of 10. Edge goes out after Priest to refresh the count, and he brings Priest up. Priest choke grips to CHOKE SLAM Edge against the ropes! Edge flops off the apron and hits the floor again, but Priest drags him back up. Priest gut wrenches to the crucifix! Priest aims for the desk, RAZOR’S EDGE through the tables!! Fans are losing their minds as Raw goes picture in picture again!
The ref reprimands Priest but Priest just wants a count out. Priest goes up the steel steps to get in the ring while the count begins. Priest soaks up the heat while Edge stirs in the wreckage. Edge manages to turn over at 5 of 10, and he crawls his way over at 7. Edge springs up and in at 9!! Priest is furious that Edge survives! Priest goes outside, drags Edge to the apron and ELBOWS away on Edge’s head and neck! Priest sits Edge up to ROCK him with a right! Priest soaks up all the heat from Toronto, then makes his way back into the ring. Priest drags Edge up, KICKS him in the side, then stomps him around. Priest taunts Edge, paces around him, and KICKS him in the chest!
Edge sits up again, ducks the Buzzsaw and hits the EDGE-O-MATIC! Cover, TWO! Priest survives and Edge slowly stands. Priest LARIATS Edge down! Cover, TWO!! Edge is still in this so Priest rains down furious forearms! Priest lets off to argue with the ref, then he drags Edge back up. Priest brings Edge to a corner, goes up the corner, then reels Edge in. But Edge throws body shots! Priest CLUBS away on Edge, clinches to drag Edge up, and Raw is single picture again as Priest choke grips Edge! Edge throws elbows to fight free! Edge then turns things around on Priest for a SUPER STEINER! Fans fire up while Priest flounders away!
Edge aims from the corner and runs in, SPIN KICK from Priest! Chicken wings and a turn, UNPRETTIER! Shoutout to Captain Charisma! Cover, TWO!! Priest tried using the move of Edge’s best friend, but Edge is tougher than that! Priest CLOBBERS Edge! Edge sits up to BACKHAND Priest! Priest stands to ROCK Edge with an elbow! Edge ROCKS Priest back! Fans rally but Priest UPPERCUTS Edge! Edge wobbles, Priest brings him around and aims, but Edge BOOTS first! Priest ROLLING ELBOWS, but Edge ducks the heel kick! IMPALER!! Cover, TWO!! Priest survives but Edge doesn’t bother being frustrated.
Edge drags Priest up and whips, but Priest reverses. Edge turns Priest, but Priest slips through and dragon sleepers, THE RECKONING!! But Priest doesn’t want to end it here, he wants to do even more damage. Priest goes to the corner and takes aim! He copies the Rated R Superstar, runs in at Edge, but Edge choke grips?! SOUTH OF HEAVEN CHOKE SLAM!? Cover, TWO!!! Priest tries to steal Edge’s move, but survives Edge stealing his move! Edge gets Priest’s legs, and he wants to shout out the Canadian legends that are the Harts! But Priest BOOTS Edge into the ref! The ref falls all the way out of the ring!
Edge turns around into the SOUTH OF HEAVEN CHOKE SLAM!! But Priest realizes the ref’s out, so he goes to get himself some chairs! Priest gets in the ring, ready to steal another of Edge’s favorites! Priest puts Edge’s head on one chair, then gets the other! CON-CHAIR- NO!! Edge dodges in time! He trips Priest and Priest lands on the chair! Edge gets the chair, and he breaks off one of the crossbars! Edge grabs that steel rod and puts it in Priest’s mouth! THE DEAL!! Priest endures, but then Edge lets him go and clears things out of the ring! Edge takes aim again, runs in, but Priest CRACKS Edge with the steel bar!!
Priest tosses the evidence, covers, and the ref is back to count! TWO!?!? The delay was enough to save Edge and Priest is ENRAGED! Priest drags Edge up, gut wrenches him to the crucifix, but Edge slips out! CANADIAN DESTROYER!!! And then a SPEAR!!! Cover, Edge wins!!!
Winner: Edge, by pinfall
The Rated R Superstar wins, but he’s not done with Priest now! Edge puts Priest’s head on a chair and holds up the other! But Rhea appears outta nowhere to LOW BLOW Edge!! And FINN appears! Finn climbs up the corner to hit a COUP DE GRACE!! The Judgement Day still get the better of Priest, but here comes BETH!! Beth grabs the chair away from Finn and tells them all the back off! And this time, Rhea can’t use the Co-Ed rule as a shield! The Judgement Day stands down, will they have to try again next time? Or are the tides turning against them?
My Thoughts:
A great Raw right here from top to bottom. We get some unpredictability with Rollins and Riddle brawling backstage as the show is starting, though maybe that is a touch like Miz and Logan Paul brawling. But every brawl is great, so that was a great brawl. And then we get Trish making her appearance, though her promo started a bit awkwardly because she was just stalling for Bayley, Kai & Sky to show up. Good interaction with them and Bianca Belair, and I do like that they partially acknowledged the house show events this weekend. Then the smooth transition into the tag title tournament match was good, and the match itself was great. Great character work from Asuka and Iyo, and Kai & Sky winning makes a lot of sense.
A shame that Gigi Dolin got hurt and now Toxic Attraction is out of the tournament after already replacing Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons. The four losing teams get their second chance, no idea who wins that, and no idea if they beat Raquel & Aliyah. Aliyah has a good promo with Bayley and Trish, just not that good of a match. Somewhere between Bayley’s ring rust and Aliyah still being inexperienced, something wasn’t clicking and that one got clunky. But of course Bayley wins, now her trio has all this momentum going into the tag title tournament finals and the go-home to Clash at the Castle.
Great backstage bit with Ziggler and Finn, and then a great match from Ziggler VS Finn, but of course Rhea interferes. Good group promo from Judgement Day to run down their enemies, but I wonder if Ziggler is being handed off from his feud with Theory to this feud. Because clearly Theory’s now feuding with JOHNNY FREAKIN’ WRESTLING! Oddly enough, Gargano showing up tonight was more effective than if he showed in Cleveland because we all expected Gargano to return in his hometown, but I don’t think there was anything online about Gargano showing up in Toronto. Gargano hasn’t missed a beat, and like Ziggler, Gargano can be that veteran who teaches Theory a thing or two.
Chad Gable has a good promo to taunt Toronto, but I thought the open challenge was going to be a tag team match to either give us more Street Profits story or introduce starts new to Raw. Instead, Kevin Owens gave us a great singles match with Gable, and he’s continuing his reset to Prizefighter Kevin using the Pop-Up Bomb as his finisher. Kevin will definitely keep this momentum rolling to after Clash at the Castle to go after just about any title he wants, but it’ll surely be the top title. And whether it’s McIntyre or Roman, Kevin will give the Universal Champion a hell of a feud and a hell of a match.
We got great stuff out of Styles & Lashley VS Miz & Ciampa, and what a great misdirect with that “fan” going after Styles and not Lumis. Lumis then drags Miz away to further swerve us on what’s going on with his story. Like, really, we didn’t get anything more on what happened so like, that’s hilarious but also disturbing. And then we got an awesome main event out of Edge and Priest. That was bordering on a PPV level match! Of course Edge wins, from this being his Toronto return and him going after Judgement Day. Beth getting involved was great, too, and now I’m hoping there’s some kind of Mixed Tag involved so Beth and Rhea can have it out.
My Score: 8.7/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 10.10.2024
After Hurricane Helene ruined the tapings last week, we get to see how truncated the Bound For Glory build becomes!
Last week coverage got skipped because the tapings were delayed due to Hurricane Helene, so they just ran a clip show essentially. I don’t blame them for having to figure out something to pivot because they had a show to fulfill, but I’m not gonna cover a clip show of matches we’ve already seen or whatever.
So now let’s get back up to speed with the murky Knockouts picture since Wendy Choo, Rosemary and Tasha Steelz seem to be picking fights with Sol Ruca, Jordynne Grace and Masha Slamovich, World Title should be Nic versus Joe Hendry, but Kaz could always angle his way into something, and the tag team title picture is some combination of ABC, Hardyz and The System.
Let’s see where everything will go since we kind of lost one week of Bound for Glory hype.
.@JordynneGrace and @mashaslamovich had a MUST SEE face-off with #TNABoundForGlory ramifications! #TNAiMPACT

Ratings:

- Josh Alexander vs Eric Young: Josh wins via Jacknife Pinfall – **
- Hardy Boyz vs The ABC: No Contest – ***
- X Division #1 Contender: Laredo Kid vs Jason Hotch w/John Skyler vs Leon Slater: Slater wins via Swanton 450 – *

Results:
Wendy Choo, Rosemary & Tasha Steelz w/Alisha Edwards vs Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich & Sol Ruca
Wendy and Jordynne starts off and Jordynne just lights her up, rocks her with Forearms, hits the Reverse Suplex, Vader Bomb and looks for the Juggy Driver in 30 seconds, but things start to move in the favor of the Brick City Demons, Jersey Devils even. But when Rosemary and Wendy look for a tandem suplex, Jordynne gets away, tags in Ruca and Ruca Springboards in and goes for some fun high spots. She does slip on her reverse block feeding into the corner, but nothing that looks bad, just an obvious hitch. Ruca hits her little surfboard pose on Rosemary, but the showboating costs her, the heels take a few short cuts and Tasha tags in to try and isolate Ruca. Corner strikes into a Shiranui, but only 2. Camel Clutch from Tasha, but she hasn’t finished anyone with that…so just wait for Ruca to fight up, Tasha drives her back into the heel corner and tags in Wendy. Snapmare into the Neck Twist for two from Choo. Ruca keeps struggling to try and get to her corner, she uses her length to kick off and counter another tandem Suplex attempt from the demons. But Ruca is crawling too slow and Rosemary stops her and start beating on her in the far corner. Ruca with a Sol Snatcher! Rosemary powders and Ruca crawls for the tag.
Tasha collects Rosemary for the heel tag and Masha gets the tag from Ruca, and Tasha gets eaten alive. Masha lays in the savate kicks, catches Tasha, Gutwrench Powerbomb, Russian Death Device on Wendy when she comes in to try and save, but a thumb to the eyes has Masha retreat to her corner, Jordynne blind tags, Juggernaut Driver on Tasha, faces win but there’s some tension with Masha and Jordynne.

Cool name wasted on Josh and his Jabroni squad. I want to like it but this group is the typical High School group project partners of one person who carries all the weight and two useless idiots.Â
Nic comes out to talk, and coming off a mid 6 person match and a lame backstage segment, I really hope this goes somewhere. Nic says his name, so he appears, and Joe comes out for the promo in the ring spot. My assumption is that some heel will crash the party to help fill the next 3 or 4 weeks before Bound for Glory, but I just don’t want this to languish. After a some circle jerk, Hendry does bring into question the JBL situation, and Nic just kind of hand waves it and says he’s the threat not JBL. Oh First Cla$$ interrupt the promo, I didn’t have them on my BINGO card, but since KC Navarro took Swann’s place, they have been a ton more fun.Â
AJ tries to take credit for Hendry’s ascent, Hendry chides him a little by a little medley of the classics and AJ redirects his attention to Nic after getting a little worked up. KC and AJ are fantastic. Tag match is made, Santino appears, calls them FIST CLASH and its happening tonight!
Officially announced by @milanmiracle! @joehendry and @NicTNemeth will face @KCwrestles & @AJFrancis410 in the main event! TONIGHT on #TNAiMPACT!

Josh Alexander vs Eric Young
Things start off basic, Collar and Elbow tie up, but Josh gets the best of things, throws EY around a little but nothing really high impact hits until EY manages a nice Dropkick to stifle Josh’s control. Josh powders, EY collects him, but Josh used the downtime to recover and starts laying into EY again. Strong Irish Whip, Flair corner bump from EY but Josh baits EY and connects with a big strike that drops EY on his ass for the Low Crossbody Dive. We move to terrible picture in picture while EY is just getting walloped on the apron. Methodic slow offense for Josh, even 10 Count Corner Punches, EY tries to catch him with a Back Elbow but Josh pulls him into the turnbuckle to stop any comeback from happening while we’re in picture in picture.
Finally out of PiP, and Josh is still in control working limbs and keeping him in the corner eating punches. EY ducks a punch, fires back, Irish Whip into a bounce out Northern Lights Suplex Hold for two from EY! Getting back to his feet, Josh snaps an Uppercut, then runs EY over with a Big Boot and grounds EY with the ole Headlock. EY counters with the Jawbreaker and tries to fire, connects with a few big lariats, Discus Lariat, Spicolli Driver attempt but Josh slips it, tries to run the ropes and eats a Power Slam from EY! Piledriver call, but Josh slips behind and goes for the Kurt Angle Germans, EY fights off the third, hits the Spicolli Driver for two! Macho Elbow attempt but the two jabronis of Josh’s group come out, distract the ref, crotch EY and Josh slowly climbs the corner with arrogance but EY counters him, drops him, connects on the Macho Elbow, but only for two! German Suplex from EY, Piledriver set up, but the jabronis interfere again, numbers game gives Josh the Jacknife Pinfall win.
Nerd squad beats down EY, they pan to a backstage shot of Maclin being handcuffed and taken out. Josh goes for the chair around the ankle shatter it heel thing, who cares. I have no interest in any of this. Josh’s heel turn has been forgettable aside from his new music, his two jabronis are worthless and this EY and Maclin pairing is being wasted on this filler imbecile angle.Â
So Santana comes out to talk and call out Moose, its a fairly basic and boring back and forth. Santana does get a good line calling Santana a Baby Boy Bitch, but then The System jumps Santana. ABC and the Hard Boys make the save, so Santino comes out to officially make Moose vs Santana a BFG match and kicks off the tag team match right now!Â
Hardy Boyz vs The ABC
Matt and Chris Bey start off, simple Collar & Elbow into a corner, clean break, Bey with an eventual Headlock Takeover, but nothing super interesting, Matt counters and goes into his own Headlock. Matt eats a Dropkick from Bey after a Shoulder Tackle, so we get both teams tagging out in the babyface nice Japanese pro wrestling way. Drop Toe Hold from Ace into a La Magistral for a quick count and then an Arm Drag keeps Ace in control. Jeff eventually gets his own Wringer and Arm Drag into four Neckbreakers, Wrecking Ball Dropkick and tags in Matt. Poetry in Motion the classic way! Quick tag back to Jeff, Assisted Facebuster from the Hardyz for another near fall, and Jeff is keeping Ace on the ground. Ace fights up, but Jeff tries to cut him off a few times, but Ace kicks out of Jeff’s grab and tags in Bey. Corner Splash, Enzuigiri into a Missile Dropkick for 2. Hardy with a Jawbreaker into the Mule Kick to tag out to Matt. Bey slips Matt’s move, double Enzuigiri and now ABC are keeping Matt isolated.
After a little more offense, Matt manages a counter, simultaneous tags and Jeff and Ace are legal. Russian Leg Sweep from Jeff into his Leg Drop Prawn Hold for 2. Bey eats a Plot Twist, but The System runs out to attack everyone.
So I guess we really are getting the triple threat that I wanted a few weeks ago. Solid match, but I called that in September, including it being a Full Metal Mayhem match!
X Division #1 Contender: Laredo Kid vs Jason Hotch w/John Skyler vs Leon SlaterÂ
Indie stupid start of dumb stuff a quick cover and Triplicate Simultaneous Dropkick. I really hate that spot…I also really don’t care for any of these guys. Laredo is just a body but useless when it comes to a real threat, Leon Slater is fun but too new and inconsistent, and Hotch I probably like the most, but he’s held back by the fact The Good Hands are a joke. I also dislike Laredo doing all of the Eddie Guerrero stuff…that doesn’t make me care about him it makes me think about Eddie. So its just stupid.
Roundhouse Kick from Laredo misses, Enzuigiri from Hotch sends Laredo to powder, Slater with a Handspring Back Elbow to wipe out Hotch, Slater goes to the top for the Swanton 450 and wins. A very quick, spotfest that means nothing. Sure Slater gets a title shot next week, but I’m not invested, don’t care and have no faith he’ll actually win.
Nic Nemeth & Joe Hendry vs First Cla$$
First Class attacks Hendry during his entrance promo, Nemeth hits the ring to even the odds, First Class is rocked outside and the faces stand tall as the referee tries to get control and we head to PiP. There’s like 5 minutes left in the show and you need to cut to a commercial? Grow up…seriously time your garbage better.
Offense is basic, KC gets the best for Nic, tags in AJ and he just literally stands on Nic and uses the size advantage. I’m glad we’re not missing anything that matters, but seriously, who cuts to commercial in the last 10 minutes of the show? Back to a real picture, AJ hits a Senton for 2 and then AJ mocks Hendry’s turn around as Nic has been isolated since the picture in picture. Nic finally fires out of the corner with punches and a few kicks but AJ won’t let go. Whips him into his own corner and knocks KC off the apron. Nic tries to dive to Hendry, AJ catches him but eats a DDT, Nic tags in Hendry, KC tries to do something after recovering but eats the Sack of Shit, Kip Up, and Hendry tries to lift AJ but can’t get him up at first. Superkick from Nic, Hendry gets AJ up for the Attitude Adjustment and Hendry calls for the Standing Ovation…double goozle, but Hendry pulls off a Danger Zone and Nic laughs. Hendry allows Nic to tag in, two Superkicks send AJ out but KC blind tags, 305 from KC, goes for the Blessing in Disguise bout eats a Super Kick, and Nemeth hits the Standing Ovation and does the turn to Hendry, Fame ASSer ends the match.
Overall Score: 4.5/10
This episode definitely felt rushed. Over use of Santino, Jordynne showing up a few times and Nic and Joe trading showboat barbs in a rather meaningless main event. A filler X Division match with a bunch of people with no story, probably just leads to Bailey defending and Wentz officially claiming his rematch for Bound For Glory. Northern Armoury again, is a cool name, but with a bunch of dweebs. Also as much as I wanted to see Masha face Jordynne so she can get her first win and really spark a run…just fast tracking passed Rosemary added to the episode seeming rushed.
Stuff happens, natural disasters cause problems, I get it. But this episode definitely suffered from just feeling like far too much odd exposition and filler content to make me count minutes left in the episode.
If you don’t watch TNA weekly, this was probably alright…but I’m definitely not feeling what they put together.

Backstage interview with Billie Starkz.
Lexy Nair is very excited, Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths not so much, about the Athena championship celebration. It will be the greatest moment in life! Lexy runs through the checklist. They got the kittens? Billie says check. They got the choreographed dancers and their routine with the flashing lights? That was Lexy’s job, not Billie’s. Okay, okay, worry about that later. What about the green Skittles? Billie doesn’t think those exist anymore. Lexy says no, they can get them at like CVS or something. Athena stumbles in, clutching a steel chain and looking over her shoulder. She bumps into the others and says hey there!
So, uh, Lexy, Athena got you this. What? Yeah, Athena handcuffs Lexy with one end of the chain, and claims it is a friendship bracelet. See, Athena saw the playback of last week’s episode, and Abadon got a little too close for comfort. Too close to Lexy, that is! They cannot let Abadon take Athena’s precious, beautiful Bestie! Lexy is too important, because she’s planning the party! Billie gets fed up! Lexy’s important, Lexy important, but what about Billie?! Athena tells Billie to calm down! Lexy is a beautiful TV personality, the best one in the world! She’s dainty, fragile, and gorgeous. Billie is a wrestler, a former champion, but also a former MIT Graduate. Billie can defend herself.
But Lexy cannot, so this is for her protection. They cannot allow Lil’ “Abandon All Hope” Abadon get Lexy! Athena cuffs herself with the chain so now she and Lexy are connected. This is them for life! The rest of their life! Forever Champion, Forever Bestie, and the Forever Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths! But most importantly… did they get JaRule? OH, yes, well, funny story. Billie interrupts and says she’s done, bye. Billie storms off, and Lexy says her people are talking with his people. Or, well, Athena’s people, their people, are talking with- Lady Frost walks in, and says this is so funny. Athena is TERRIFIED of Abadon.
N-No! Yes. Seeing Athena like this, it’s hilarious. No, what’s hilarious is that Frost LOST to Athena, yet has the audacity to come up here and get in Athena’s face while she is planning the party to celebrate becoming the longest-reigning champion in ALL of ROH history! And well, maybe Frosty is scared! Lil’ Miss Popsicle couldn’t even last 10 minutes with Athena. Athena did it once, she can do it again. Frost throws off the jacket to show she’s in ring gear. If Athena wants another 10 minutes, then she’s got it. Frost leaves, and Athena realizes she just booked herself for a match. Athena storms off, and ends up dragging Lexy along.
Will The Fallen Goddess just admit she’s afraid of the Living Dead Girl so that she can face her fears? Or will Frost freeze Athena’s reign?
NJPW Strong Openweight Open Challenge: Gabe Kidd VS Anthony Henry w/ BEEF!
The Mad Man of the Bullet Club War Dogs put out the challenge to anyone in ROH who wanted a fight, and it was the Saint of Augusta that accepted. Will this Workhorsemen bring home some gold? Or will he not be #WarReady like Gabe Kidd?

Henry put up a fight, but it was not enough to dethrone this War Dog. Will Gabe Kidd be unstoppable no matter where he fights?
Brandon Cutler makes his way to the ring.
“Oh~ Toledooo~. You are all so very welcome for these ROH Wrestling nights, presented to you by our EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas!” The fans boo, but Cutler says you don’t boo the Young Bucks! You should worship the ground they walk on! They are pioneers, trailblazers, and most importantly, the current AEW World Tag Team Champions. And this Saturday at WrestleDream, the entire Elite will successfully defend their titles. So in that spirit, Brandon Cutler is calling out any and all ROH champions, past or present! Anyone who has been or is currently a champion, answer the call! What kind of men do they have in ROH?
IT’S KATSUYORI SHIBATA! The former ROH Pure Champion is in Toledo ahead of facing Jack Perry for the TNT Championship, will Cutler be just a tune-up for The Wrestler?
Brandon Cutler VS Katsuyori Shibata!
Cutler says okay, he knows Shibata wants to get his “grubby mitts” on him, but he should remember about the Code of Honor. Shibata can’t touch Cutler until they shake hands. Isn’t that right, ref? The ref confirms. Shibata shakes hands, but Cutler kicks low! The bell rings and Cutler CLUBS Shibata. Cutler CHOPS, but Shibata doesn’t budge! Cutler CHOPS again, but still nothing! The Young Bucks’ buddy didn’t do so well, and now Shibata is rolling into WrestleDream. Will The Wrestler make The Scapegoat into the sacrifice for AEW’s greater good?
Brian Cage speaks.
“I’m a machine every which way you slice it. I train like a machine, I eat like a machine, I plan, prep and attack like a machine. And I’ve been programmed with only one thing, and that’s tunnel vision on becoming the best professional wrestler on this planet. And with that, becoming one of the best champions this sport has ever seen! And Atlantis Jr, you egg-sucking piece of gutter trash, you don’t even go here! You’re holding something that technically should never have even belonged to you, and that don’t sit right with me. Nuh-uh, not today! Not anymore! Not up in here!
“And at WrestleDream, in Zero Hour, in 48 hours, Brian Cage, ‘The Machine’ Brian Cage, the NEXT ROH TV Champion Brian Cage, is gonna correct that and claim my prize. Who betta?” The Swolverine has spoken, but can he dethrone the second generation CMLL star? Or will Atlantis Jr. be the answer to #WhoBetta?
Shane Taylor Promotions VS The Infantry w/ Trish Adora!
Big Bad Shaney T. wants his team to take over ROH, so he and #TAIGASTYLE are stepping into tag team competition. Will they be one step closer to total domination? Or can Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo march up the ranks?
The teams sort out and Shane himself starts against Bravo. Bravo fires Toledo up, “OORAH~!” “OORAH~!” Shane and Bravo circle, tie up, and Shane powers Bravo into a corner. Tag to Lee and Lee drags Dean up to run up, but Dean arm-drags! And arm-drags again!
Dean grinds the armlock, but Shane barks at Adora so Bravo storms up to bark back. The ref tells them both to stop, and this arguing keeps Bravo from taking the tag! Lee wrenches and WRINGS Dean out! Shane taunts Bravo over it, and Lee drags Dean up. Lee fires knees into Dean, then whips him into the STP corner. Lee runs up to LARIAT, then he tags Shane. Shane CHOPS Dean, and then he mock, “OORAH!” Dean ROCKS him for it! But then Shane DECKS Dean for it! Shane and Bravo argue again, and Lee sneaks a CHOKE. Shane storms over to dig boots into Dean. The ref counts, Shane lets off, and Lee sneaks some hair pulling!

Dean kicks Lee, Bravo hits a DDT! The fans fire up as Bravo puts Lee in the drop zone, but Shane anchors Dean! Bravo BOOTS Shane, but Lee shoves Bravo into Dean! O’Conner BRIDGE, STP wins!
Winner: Shane Taylor Promotions, by pinfall
Bravo can’t believe it! Two matches in a row, they have lost! They got outmaneuvered here against Shane Taylor Promotions, and now they’re falling down the ranks! Will Dean & Bravo just have to go back to the drawing board to figure out a way to win? Shane tells them one day, they will understand. Will he and Lee show that when they rumble with the tag team champions?
The Dark Order speaks.
Evil Uno says, “Finally! Finally! Dark Order is on a roll! Evil Uno, big singles win. John Silver, big singles win. Alex Reynolds, John Silver, big tag team win. Well it’s time for Dark Order to get back to their bread ‘n’ butter, the Trios Division! Because that is when-” The Iron Savages interrupt! Jacked Jameson says hold on, Dark Order, hold on. They were just passing by, sippin’ sauce, and were about to hit the gym to work off those double chunk chocolate cookies, and they couldn’t help but overhear Dark Order talking about the tag win over Jameson & Beefcake Boulder. Congratulations! Jameson’s first ROH match, and they weren’t ready!
Bulk Bronson was not cleared, it was a last minute change, and yet they went out there! If Bronson was 100% and they were all ready, Dark Order would’ve lost! Boulder says damn well that in 2v2, anything could happen, it doesn’t mean anything! And in 3v3, you got NO shot! Bronson almost chokes on sauce, but he says he has an idea! Okay, buddy, breathe. Bronson says next time, Dark Order VS Iron Savages, it’ll be a TRIOS MATCH! Then they and the whole world finds out that The Iron Savages are “The t*ts!” Sip on that, chumps! Silver says if they want their asses kicked, he’ll go ahead and kick all their asses!
Uno has Silver stand down, and Reynolds says Iron Savages wanna come in here with the fun and games, fine. But Dark Order has been where they’ve been, and it got them nowhere! “Playtime’s over, boys! Dark Order’s war ready. And the next time we step in the ring, we’re gonna kick your ass!” Boulder says his ass is too big to be kicked, so sip on THAT! The Savages head out, and this is getting tense. Who wins this big Six Man Tag to then chase down Dustin Rhodes & The Von Erichs?

The Infantry regroups backstage.
Carlie Bravo “ain’t gonna hold you,” he feels something is off. Shawn Dean tells Bravo about the game plan. What was going on? All the studying! Everything they’re doing! They can’t have this! But they’re feeling off! But then in steps Shane Taylor Promotions! Shane asks what Bravo means by “off?” How many times do they have to keep going through this?! How many times do they have to get their asses kicked until they get it?! Infantry is one of the most impressive tag teams he’s ever seen, and yet they keep going this over and over.
Shane has seen them beat world champions. Shane has seem them beat the best tag teams ROH has to offer! And it’s gotten The Infantry NOWHERE. They are dead set on proving to these people that they can wrestle. But Shane needs them to show the people that they can RUMBLE. And for the last time, Shane will ask them both, or rather, all three of them, when are they going to stop being “good soldiers?” And specifically to Miss Adora, Shane hasn’t forgotten their conversation, either. And he is a man of their word.
STP heads out, Bravo asks what that means, but Adora says it’s nothing. But Dean says Shane is saying something. Can The Infantry refocus and finally have their moment?

ROH World Championship Proving Ground: Mark Briscoe VS Josh Woods w/ The Premier Athletes!
Moving from past to present, The Sussex County Chicken is now going to defend the ROH World Championship at WrestleDream against Chris Jericho. However, before then, he meets The Technical Beast on the Proving Ground. And as such, “Smart” Mark Sterling takes over introductions to say that The Premier Athletes are getting sick and tired of saying they suck. “Lemme tell you who sucks! The people of Toledo suck! The Conglomeration sucks! Orange Cassidy sucks! Kyle O’Reilly sucks! Ishii sucks! And Mark Briscoe SUCKS!” The fans boo Sterling but he says here is one last chance to make this right.
When they say “Athletes,” you all say, “Rule.” Hands in, boys. Ohh… “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling is again furious but he’s clearly not smart enough to see he always sets his team up for that one. But now, “Reach for the sky, boys!” Mark makes his way to the ring, and while Cassidy & Kyle conquered Nese & Daivari, time to see if the Chicken can conquer the Beast. WAIT, Woods attacks first, no waiting on Code of Honor or anything! The bell rings, Woods fires off knees, then he TOSSES Mark out! The fans boo but we’re on the clock, 10 minutes or less wins Woods a title shot! Woods ROCKS Mark, then SWINGS him into railing!
The fans boo as hard as they can, but Woods puts Mark back in the ring. Woods soaks up the heat, but he has to avoid a backhand! Woods says he’s too smart, but then Mark gets him with a REDNECK KUNG-FU UPPERCUT! The fans fire up as Mark builds speed, and Mark WRECKS Woods with that “spicy dropkick.” Mark RKF UPPERCUTS again! And then CHOPS! Mark tosses a chair into the ring, fires off hands on Woods, and then Mark gets in the ring. The fans fire up as Mark sets the chair up. Mark builds speed, Sterling freaks out, but the Chicken FLIES! Down goes Woods and the fans high-five with Briscoe!
Mark Briscoe gives a young fan his Conglomeration T-shirt, but now Sterling barks at him! Briscoe backs Sterling off, the fans cheer on “DEM BOYS! DEM BOYS!” Mark stands Woods up to ROCK him! Mark puts Woods in, storms up and ROCKS him! Woods ROCKS Mark back! The forearms fly, then Mark ducks one to CHOP! Mark ROCKS Woods, CHOPS him, then ROCKS him again. Mark whips, Woods reverses, but Mark CLOBBERS him! Woods goes to a corner, Mark runs up to LARIAT! Mark reels Woods in to EXPLODER! Cover, ONE!! Mark is surprised by that, but he runs up to RKF UPPERCUT!
Mark fireman’s carries, but Woods CLAWS eyes! Woods waistlocks, goes to the corner, CHAOS- NO, Mark fights the suplex and breaks the waistlock to PELE! Fireman’s carry, and ROLLING DEATH VALLEY! The fans fire up and Mark climbs! FROGGY- NO! ARMBAR!! Woods has Mark caught! Mark fights around, even bites at Woods’ leg! Mark has the ROPEBREAK! Woods lets go to argue with the ref, but that just lets Sterling PULL on Mark’s arm! The fans boo, but Sterling lets go before he gets caught. Woods drags Mark back in, and he stomps away on the bad arm! Woods says, “Athletes!” Toledo says, “SUCKS!”
Woods fires more shots on Mark, then hammerlocks the arm to scoop and SLAM! Mark writhes, Woods covers, TWO! Woods is annoyed but he grabs the bad arm to turn Mark over. Woods digs his knee into the shoulder, pulls on the arm, but the fans chant it themselves, “ATHLETES SUCK! ATHLETES SUCK!” Mark fights, has the ROPEBREAK, and Woods lets go at 4. Woods stands Mark up to ROCK him! And UPPERCUT the arm! Woods hammerlocks the arm again, scoops again, but Mark slips free! Mark fires forearms and elbows, then kicks, kicks and kicks! Mark puts Woods in a corner with those kicks!
Woods shoves Mark back, runs up, but into a drop toehold! Mark gets moving, he goes up a corner, and he MISSILE DROPKICKS! Woods tumbles away to the corner! The fans fire up, Mark runs in, SHOTGUN BOOT! Woods staggers, Mark fires up again, and the fans rally behind him. But Woods FLAPJACK HOTSHOTS Mark on ropes! Woods puts Mark in a corner to fire knee after knee! Woods puts Mark up, then climbs up. Woods UPPERCUTS the bad arm, UPPERCUTS it again, and then SUPER ARM-DRAGS! Cover, TWO!! Hammerlock, clinch, but Mark BITES Woods! Mark fires forearms, then HEADBUTT after HEADBUTT! Mark shouts and HEADBUTTS again! Woods falls, Sterling freaks out, FROGGY-BOW!! Cover, Mark wins!!
Winner: Mark Briscoe, by pinfall (denies Josh Woods a title match)
Woods kicks out at 3.1 but that’s not soon enough! But with all this damage Woods did to the Chicken’s wing, will it be that much easier for Chris Jericho to go from Ocho to Nueve? Or will nothing stop the legacy of The Briscoes in ROH?
My Thoughts:
A very good episode coming in at an hour and 50, and while it’s only the second week, maybe they’re going to keep padding time with retro matches. That’s not so bad in some ways, I am certainly someone who wasn’t watching those early days of ROH, mostly because I had no idea. Bryan VS Kenta was awesome stuff, and definitely works to hype up Bryan’s match at WrestleDream as well as the ROH World Championship. Briscoe VS Woods was really good, especially for a Proving Grounds match with the 10 minute time limit. But I figured Briscoe would win that, it gives him momentum going into WrestleDream and facing Chris Jericho.
Great stuff with the ROH Women’s World Championship story. Good promo from Athena, Lexy and Billie to add to Athena’s denial about her fear of Abadon. And then Frost calling Athena out for a match was also good. I have a feeling Athena and Lexy are going to be chained together even then, adding a somewhat comedic element to the match. At the same time, I could see a way the chain helps Athena cheat a win, hard to say. Billie got a good match out of Ella Elizabeth, that win definitely keeps Billie going in the rankings as again, this has to be leading to Athena VS Billie for the title at Final Battle or something.
Great ROH Women’s World Television Championship match, until that confusing and disappointing ending. I don’t know what anyone was thinking with that but it wasn’t good. Diamante may be the aggressive Heel, but she’s not going to go into a blind rage where she doesn’t realize the ref is watching her hold the belt. They should’ve tried a ref bump and cheap shot that the ref still ends up seeing. For one, “getting caught red handed” is a pun they could easily use to sell the moment via commentary.
Pretty funny set up into the squash match for Shibata, but between this and the Six Man Tag win last week, Jack Perry is definitely finding some underhanded way of retaining the title. Archer got to have fun squashing a rather well-liked Toledo indie wrestler, I just hope that with the “trade” to the Don Callis Family, Archer actually gets himself a championship. Brian Cage had a good promo to call out Atlantis Jr, and honestly, why not have him win? Zero Hours don’t always have things “important” in them, so a title change for the ROH TV title would work. And then maybe Cage can defend that title week in and week out on ROH TV.
Great opening title match with Gabe Kidd and Anthony Henry. Gabe of course retained, but the real shame is that Henry legitimately hurt his arm in that match. The Workhorsemen just can’t catch a break, you gotta feel for Henry and JD Drake. And who knows what happens with Beef now. He’s a great personality and the fans clearly love him, but much of his story was relying on The Workhorsemen. So unless JD Drake really is ready to come back and he can take over the story from this point, Beef’s going solo. And speaking of beef, Iron Savages and Dark Order look to settle their beef in a Six Man Tag. I’m torn because Dark Order already had their program with Dustin & The Sons of Texas, but they also just got back on a roll. They got booked into a corner and can’t seem to get out.
And very good stuff in The Infantry’s story. Great tag match with Shane Taylor Promotions, and really good promo backstage with them, too. Shane & Lee get a strong win to move up the ranks, maybe start after the ROH World Tag Team Championships, but there might even be a faction upgrade if Infantry start to see things Shane’s way. A Heel turn was already teased when Infantry disrespected The Outrunners, but joining up with STP so that Dean & Bravo can be the tag team guys and Shane targets the singles titles would be something cool to see.
My Score: 8.7/10
