AEW Dark is in Chicago as part of All Out Week! But will Claudio Castagnoli hold onto his ROH World Championship against Ari Daivari?

Recorded on Friday, this Dark comes after Rampage in the All Out Week AEW held in Chicago. A good line-up but another obvious one. I’ll still cover that ROH World title match, Daivari is a great worker so he will give Claudio a great match.

ROH World Championship: Claudio Castagnoli VS Ari Daivari!

The Swiss Superman overcame the Natural, Dustin Rhodes, in his previous title defense, but he isn’t the kind to coast! He is taking on all comers, and that’s where Daivari Dinero comes in! Will Ari make up for missing out on the AEW World Trios Championships by taking this one? Or will he not be able to stop Claudio GADDAM Castagnoli?

The introductions are made, the title is raised, and we see who shines with gold in the Dark!

The Code of Honor is NOT upheld as Daivari slaps Claudio’s hand away! The bell rings and Claudio RAMS Daivari to a corner, then lifts him to SLAM him down! Waistlock and bridge, TWO! Claudio keeps on Daivari with a rear mount as fans rally up. Claudio headlocks, Daivari powers up but can’t power out as Claudio holds tight. Daivari stands up again, throws body shots, and he powers out of the headlock this time, only for Claudio to run him over! Claudio makes Daivari shake his hand now! Daivari gets up in a huff and pushes Claudio. Claudio trips Daivari up! Fans fire up but Daivari scrambles out of the ring! Claudio says he was that close to the swing.

Daivari dares Claudio to come after him, and Claudio does, only for Daivari to get in the ring. Daivari grins as he trolls Claudio, but Claudio slides in. Claudio avoids the stomp, drags Daivari out of the ring and whips him into railing! Claudio then runs in and BLASTS Daivari with the EuroUpper! Claudio high fives the fans and sees Daivari’s gotten to the far side. Claudio runs in again, but Daivari dodges! Claudio hits railing, then Daivari stomps him down! Daivari kicks Claudio as he hobbles, puts him in the ring, and fans boo as Daivari stalks Claudio. Daivari kicks the leg, CHOPS Claudio in the corner, and Claudio goes to another corner.

Daivari whips corner to corner, Claudio reverses but runs into a BOOT! Daivari hops up, leaps, but into Claudio’s arms for a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Claudio keeps cool and he makes sure his leg is good. Claudio drags Daivari up but Daivari kicks the leg! And again! Daivari runs but Claudio trophy lifts him now! But the bad leg buckles and Daivari slips free! Daivari CHOP BLOCKS the leg! Daivari stomps the leg, and again, then jump stomps it! Claudio clutches the calf while fans boo. Daivari runs to SHOTGUN Claudio down! Cover, TWO! Daivari is annoyed but he stalks Claudio.

Daivari gives toying kicks, but then Claudio grabs Daivari’s leg! Claudio UPPERCUTS Daivari off his feet! Claudio gets Daivari’s legs and fans fire up! They wanna see it, so Claudio’s gonna give us the SWISS SWING! Daivari goes around and around and around, and fans count all the way to TEN before the toss! Claudio shakes out the bad leg while Daivari drags himself to the apron. Claudio hurries over, climbs up the corner, and he deadlifts Daivari! Daivari hooks ropes to block the rest of that, and he fires body shots! Daivari kicks out the bad leg! Claudio ends up in the ropes, and Daivari kicks the knee more and more!

The ref reprimands but Daivari HOTSHOTS Claudio down! Daivari climbs again and Claudio stands, CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Daivari frowns and he rains down fists! Fans boo as Daivari grinds his forearm into Claudio’s face. Daivari lets off to soak up the heat, then brings Claudio up. Claudio ROCKS Daivari with a haymaker! Claudio whips Daivari into a corner but Daivari goes up and out! Daivari shoulders back in, then turns Claudio for a HOTSHOT NECKBREAKER! Daivari then drags Claudio to the corner to SLAM the bad leg into post! And SLAMS it again! Fans boo more, but then Claudio BOOTS Daivari into the railing!

Fans fire up with Claudio and he goes out to EUROUPPER Daivari! Claudio hobbles, trophy lifts Daivari, and TOSSES him into the ring! Fans fire up more but Daivari dropkicks Claudio off the apron! Daivari aims to PLANCHA, but Claudio catches him!? Claudio shakes out the bad leg, pops Daivari around, but Daivari slips off to POST Claudio! Daivari puts Claudio in the ring, climbs up the ropes, and FROG SPLASHES! Cover, TWO!! Claudio is still in this and Daivari is frustrated. Fans rally and he drags Claudio around by the leg. Daivari drops elbows on the knee, steps through, but Claudio boots him away! Roll up, TWO!!

Daivari stands, into the DISCUS LARIAT! Fans fire up and Claudio grits his teeth. Daivari goes to a corner, Claudio runs in and EuroUppers! And again and again and again! From all sides!! Claudio has Daivari wobbling, he whips and POP-UP UPPERS!! And that’s not all! Claudio fires up, tucks the arms, RICOLA BOMB!! Cover, Claudio wins!

Daivari Dinero put his money where his mouth is, but he still couldn’t cash in and get the gold! Claudio shakes his hand to keep the Code of Honor and show him respect, but who will be next to tug on the cape of the Swiss Superman?
