Mr. Freshly Squeezed has fought and won two Triple Threats for this title, and he also won the right to name his next challenge for Rampage. The Wrestler has fought his way back from a devastating injury that didn’t just sideline him, it affected every aspect of his life. But Shibata is back, he’s been watching Cassidy’s back, so in return for all that, here we are! Will Shibata’s comeback hit a new level? Or will Cassidy be able to keep on winning?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see how this dream come true unfolds!

The bell rings and fans lose their minds already just seeing this. Cassidy already has his hands in his pockets as he and Shibata step up to each other. Shibata headlocks, Cassidy tries to power out but can’t without hands. Shibata hits a takeover, then shifts to a cover, ONE as Cassidy gets his shoulder up. Shibata pushes that down but Cassidy gets his hands out of his pockets to help with the headscissors. Shibata moves around and headstands, then pops free. Shibata gets the toehold, Cassidy throws him away, but Shibata cartwheels! Cassidy ducks the Penalty Kick, and then lounges on the mat! Shibata keeps moving, things speed up, and Cassidy sends Shibata out.

Cassidy ROCKS Shibata off the apron, then DIVES! Direct hit and both men hit railing! Fans are torn as Cassidy drags Shibata up, to send him into railing But Shibata comes back with a BOOT! Shibata RAMS Cassidy into railing! And then runs him into more railing! And then even more railing! Cassidy tumbles, Shibata refreshes the ring count, and fans fire up as Shibata sits down cross legged. Shibata goes back out after Cassidy, but Cassidy sends him into railing! Cassidy throws a forearm, Shibata throws it back, they go back and forth and fans fire up! The count is climbing, both men slide in at 9! Fans fire up as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Shibata and Cassidy reset, and Shibata baits Cassidy with a leg guard. Cassidy is oddly thrown off by that and backs up to a corner. Cassidy dares Shibata to climb up after him, but Shibata dares Cassidy to hop down after him. The ref tells Cassidy to hop down, and since they’re at an impasse, Cassidy obliges. Cassidy and Shibata reset, and Cassidy raises his hands. But Shibata trips Cassidy to get a leg! Shibata steps through to a FIGURE FOUR! Cassidy endures, pries at the hold, but Shibata puts it on tight! Cassidy crawls, reaches out, and gets the ROPEBREAK! Shibata lets off quickly to stomp Cassidy down.

Shibata drags Cassidy up, bumps him off buckles, and fires off forearm after forearm! The ref counts, Shibata runs corner to corner, but Cassidy kicks him first! Cassidy goes up, DEEP IMPACT! Rampage returns to single picture as fans fire up! Tyson also really liked that, and he’s wondering how Shibata’s head is holding up. Cassidy goes to the far corner, puts his hands in his pockets, and then runs in, to basement dropkick! And kip up! Fans fire up, Cassidy gives the “devastating” kicks! Cassidy powers up, but Shibata blocks the kick! Shibata stands, Cassidy ROCKS him! Cassidy runs, into an STO! Fans fire up as Shibata sits up.

Shibata storms after Cassidy, drags Cassidy up, but Cassidy resists. Shibata stomps him, tries again, but still Cassidy resists. Shibata stomps Cassidy more, then gives him his own “devastating” kicks! Is Cassidy annoyed that Shibata’s giving him a taste of his own medicine? That last kick is sharp! Cassidy and Shibata stare down, but then Cassidy sits down with crossed legs! Shibata joins him! Fans fire up as each man eggs the other on. Cassidy “slaps,” and “slaps,” etc. Cassidy winds up, to DOUBLE “slap.” Shibata SLAPS Cassidy! And stomps him! Shibata drags Cassidy up, whips and BOOTS! Then fires off a flurry of forearms!

Shibata goes corner to corner, fans fire up and Shibata HESITATION DROPKICKS! Fans fire up while Cassidy is dazed. Shibata drags Cassidy up HALF HATCHES! Cover, TWO! Shibata clamps onto Cassidy with a SLEEPER! But Cassidy fights up! Cassidy reaches out, ROPEBREAK! But Shibata back suplexes, only for Cassidy to land on his feet! Cassidy hits a BIG back suplex, but Shibata’s right up?! Shibata tries another back suplex but again Cassidy lands on his feet! Both men ROCK the other, and they both fall back! Fans are thunderous with both men down, and Tyson is chanting on commentary.

Cassidy stands first, he drags Shibata up, and Cassidy runs to PENALTY KICK! But Shibata sits up!? Fans are thunderous again and Cassidy sighs. Cassidy runs to PENALTY KICK but Shibata tanks it! Cassidy KICKS and KICKS but Shibata stays up! Cassidy PENALTY KICKS but Shibata stands up to SUPERMAN FOREARM! Fans are thunderous again and Shibata drags Cassidy up for more haymakers! Shibata reels Cassidy into a cobra twist! Cassidy endures, reaches out, but Shibata shifts to an IRON OCTOPUS! GROUND OCTOPUS!! Cassidy moves around, reaches out, ROPEBREAK!

Shibata lets go quickly and Tyson is loving the technical ability. Shibata suplexes, but gets STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! Fans fire up as Cassidy thinks about taking off the elbow pad. He chooses not to, and he gives Shibata the Kawada Kicks! Shibata stands up to fireman’s carry Cassidy! DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!! Shibata then drags Cassidy back up, fireman’s carries again, but STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE returns! Cassidy runs, tilt-o-whirls, SPIKE-RANA! Shibata flounders up, into a BEACH BREAK!! Cover, TWO!! Shibata is hanging tough but off comes the elbow pad! Cassidy runs in, ORANGE PUNCH!

Lexi Nair notes Toni will be defending the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear against Jamie Hayter, but we found out they were former friends. What Toni wants to know is “why did that nice girl that I was homeless with during the pandemic become such a bully? Maybe I’m just jealous though, right? Maybe I’m just jealous, because here’s me, never done a thing wrong to you, Jamie Hayter, and you just assault me whenever you please. And then there’s Britt, who continues to manipulate you the entire time you’ve been here. And she gets away with it, it’s totally fine.

“But all these decisions that you’re making, Jamie Hayter, you’re gonna have to take responsibility for them. Just like you’re going to be responsible for what I do to you at Full Gear.” The Lightning From Down Under is ready to strike down her former friend. Will #ToniTime finally stop the Hayter?

Backstage interview with The Blackpool Combat Club.

Specifically, Lexi Nair is with Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Lord William Regal. She says we saw a huge brawl between BCC and the Jericho Appreciation Society after the ROH World Championship match. What exactly are their issues with Chris Jericho? What’re their issues with him? Claudio says that while he can tolerate, and even appreciate, Jericho doing anything to retain the ROH World Championship, where Claudio draws the line is when Jericho attacks non-wrestlers like commentator, Ian Riccaboni. Jericho is “taking liberties.”

If Jericho wants to talk beating former champions from ROH, well guess what? Claudio is one! He also hasn’t gotten his rematch, so don’t look any further! Bryan says, “Y’know who else is a former ROH champion? Me. I brought honor, I brought prestige, to the ROH World Championship. You wanna know a list of the reasons why I dislike Chris Jericho? Rampage isn’t long enough! Chris, you give me one more opportunity, and I swear, I will take that ROH World Championship from around your waist, and I’m gonna stomp your face in.”

Regal steps in to say that both Bryan and Claudio have legitimate reasons as to why they want after Jericho. “So Chris, the ball’s in your court, sunshine. Make your choice!” Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place! Swiss Superman or American Dragon, who will #THEOCHO choose to defend his title against next?

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter w/ Rebel VS Madison Rayne & Skye Blue!

The Doctor continues to claim conspiracy against her, so she’s not doing things the way others want. She and Hayter demanded a tag match to prove their superiority, will they do just that tonight? Or will the Coach & Student teach these two a thing or two?

The teams sort out and Rayne starts against Hayter. They tie up, Rayne gets around and waistlocks, then she wrenches an arm to a wristlock. Rayne brings Hayter over and Skye tags in, they double whip Hayter to ropes. They trip Hayter, basement dropkick, and then Skye covers, ONE! Skye wrenches, wristlocks, and slips around to spin Hayter. Hayter blocks the arm-drag to whip Skye away to a corner. Hayter runs in but Skye dodges! Hayter hits buckles, Skye GAMANGIRIS and climbs up top! Skye leaps to CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Skye keeps on Hayter with a clinch. Skye wrenches but Hayter kicks and CLUBS her.

Hayter scoops, Skye slips off, and Skye waistlocks. Hayter bucks her away, then FLAPJACK HOTSHOTS her! Skye sputters and Hayter DECKS Rayne! Fans boo while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Hayter soaks up the heat, drags Skye up and bumps her off buckles. Hayter CHOKES Skye, the ref counts and Hayter lets off to argue the count. That allows Britt to CHOKE Skye! Britt gets away with it as always, then tags in. Hayter stomps Skye, Britt stomps Skye, then Britt digs her boot in. Britt argues the count, Hayter gets a cheap shot in. Britt drags Skye up, throws forearm after forearm, then whips Skye to ropes. Britt follows to then SLINGBLADE! Cover, TWO! Britt drags Skye up and ROCKS her with a right! Britt whips Skye to a corner, Skye slips around and rolls Britt up, with a bridge! TWO!! Britt KICKS Skye down for getting too clever.

Britt taunts Skye, drags her up and over, and tags in Hayter. Hayter stomps Skye in the back again and again, then lets off to argue the count. Britt taunts Skye and Hayter drags Skye up for a SNAP JACKHAMMER! Cover, TWO! Skye is still in this but Hayter bumps her off buckles. And then again! Hayter brings Skye to the other corner to bump her off buckles more! Hayter and Britt soak up the heat, then Hayter DECKS Rayne again! Rayne storms in but the ref keeps her back as Hayter drags Skye around, and Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns and Skye ROCKS Hayter with forearms! Hayter CLUBS Skye down, runs, but into a SUPERKICK! Both women are down and fans fire up! Hayter and Skye crawl, tag to Britt! Britt anchors Skye but Skye breaks free, mule kicks, but Britt blocks the superkick. Britt spins Skye but the DRAGON WHIP comes back! Hot tag to Rayne! Fans rally as Rayne rallies with big forearms and CHOPS on Britt! Rayne DECKS Britt, DECKS Hayter, then spins Britt around to KNEE SMASH and NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Rayne drags Britt up with a waistlock but Britt fights it. Britt switches, Rayne spins free to RAYNE CUTTER!

Hayter hurries in, she gives Rayne an IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER! But Skye gives Hayter a BACKSTABBER! Britt SUPERKICKS Skye! Rayne rolls Britt up, TWO! Britt kicks low, hooks a leg, FISHERMAN SCREW! Cover, Skye breaks it in time! Skye waistlocks Britt, Britt pries free to switch, then she spins Skye for a ROLLING ELBOW! Tag to Hayter, DOUBLE SUPERKICKS take out Rayne & Skye! Hayter makes sure Skye is out, Britt runs, but Rayne dodges the stomp! ENZIGURI! Hayter sees that and rushes in, but Rayne tilt-o-whirls to crucifix! Hayter blocks that and throws Rayne off, but Rayne dodges the boot!

Rayne rebounds but Hayter dodges her to waistlock, ripcord, and HATE MAKER!! Cover, Hayter & Britt win!

A big win for the bad girls, and Britt gets a mic. “Aww, Toni Storm thinks I’m a bully and now Jamie’s a bully.” But Hayter is stomping Rayne as Britt speaks! Britt tells Toni that they’re going to redefine what bullying is at Full Gear, when Hayter becomes the NEW AEW Women’s World Champion. But here comes Toni!! Storm storms up to the ring, Rebel rushes in to intercept, but Storm DECKS her! Storm kicks and RAMS Britt into railing, then she goes for Hayter! The brawl is on and fans are thunderous! Storm dodges to THESZ PRESS! And rain down fast hands! Hayter gives those back, Storm gets up and TACKLES Hayter, into the CLOVERLEAF!!

Hayter endures and then taps out! But it doesn’t matter, this is a fight! But Britt has the belt! Britt CLOBBERS Storm with it! Britt then hands that belt to Hayter! Will this be how it happens at Full Gear? Or will there be no new champion in New Jersey?

Lamar Jackson responds to what happened on Dynamite.

“I got called out. I wasn’t thinking he was going to call me out, because Jericho called me out, and I was like… I didn’t really hear what he said at first, and then they told me, and I was laughing like, ‘This man is crazy.’ But I enjoyed it, though, because growing up, I was a huge fan of wrestling.”

Tony Schiavone asks Jericho to please stop attacking commentary. Stop attacking commentary? Okay, he can do that. But as for interviewers, NO GUARANTEES! Schiavone says okay, but he will say this. What Regal said about taking your pick, go ahead and take your pick: Bryan or Claudio. Jericho says, “William Regal, with his amazing general manager experience, is going to tell me which match I have to choose for my next ROH World Championship defense. Really? A less honorable man would say neither! But the Ocho, the Ring of Jericho Champion, what if I said both? Sounds crazy, right, Tony? But is it really?

“Cuz I don’t think the Blackpool Combat Club really likes each other. I don’t think they like standing in the same space. I don’t think they like breathing the same air. And I don’t think they like being in the same wrestling ring. So what if I said Claudio and Danielson, I’ll take you both on, because I know you’re going to tear each other apart? BUT, I’m not stupid. What if I bring in one of my guys to even the odds? What if I bring in Sammy Guevara and make it a 4 Way? This man’s been with me since day one in AEW. We have never shared a cross word EVER. Not in the Jericho Appreciation Society, not in the Inner Circle, and not now.

“Jericho VS Guevara VS Danielson VS Claudio, and when Claudio and Danielson beat the hell out of each other, and leave each other in a pile of Blackpool Combat BLOOD, it’ll just be me and Sammy left in the ring… Well, Sammy, I know you’re going to do the right thing. Right, little buddy?” Jericho leaves, but Sammy doesn’t look so sure now. Should it come to it, will the Spanish God bow down to The Wizard?

Ricky Starks is here!

Fans fire up for The Absolute as he makes his way out to the ring. He’s been away for a minute, but now he gest a mic to speak. “Y’all hear that? Y’all hear that? I hear every week, people online wanting to see Ricky Starks on TV!” Fans cheer because they have, too. Starks says he’s never had to beg or plead for people to have his back, has he? That’s because they like him and know he can deliver. They know that he is good! He doesn’t have to tell them that he’s good! They like him because of the pose! Starks hits the pose and fans cheer. Starks says he likes them, too. He has put in the work here since day one, and he hears everyone wanting to know.

Well guess what? He’s got the answer. This new tournament, there are six questions that people want to know. Well here’s an answer for one of ’em! That is why Starks is entering in the Full Gear AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament! Fans rally like the sound of that! Starks knows there are those who really tout that they’re an AEW pillar, but how can you be a pillar when things are crumbling around here?! But Starks says he will be the guy to hold this place up on his bare back! And it starts at Full Gear! “Don’t let the loose shirts and tight pants fool you, I’m walking into Full Gear as Ricky Starks. I’m walking out as the NEW AEW #1 Contender for the AEW Championship.”

And two things will happen here. Starks either goes on to face Jon Moxley, a guy who we all respect but has poured his blood for this company ten times over. Starks’ question for Moxley is, “What happens when that blood dries up?” OR… Starks might face MJF, “The Devil Himself!” “What happens when a generational talent meets an Absolute one? I don’t deal in ifs, ands or maybes! I deal in definites and truth. Why? Because I am Absolute Ricky Freakin’ Starks!” Fans are absolutely fired up to see this! Will Starks be THE contender after Full Gear?

Backstage interview with just Sammy Guevara.

Schiavone is still with the Spanish God, and it seemed pretty clear that earlier became an “uncomfortable situation.” Is that true? Or is Schiavone reading too much into it? Sammy says they aren’t going to worry about that. All anyone needs to know is that at Full Gear, in that ROH World Championship Fatal 4 Way, the title stays with the JAS. But what Sammy does want to talk about is a man he nearly beat a couple weeks ago in Bryan Danielson. Sammy says he took Bryan to his limit. Bryan was a dream match for Sammy. Sammy was working at Subway when he saw Bryan win the world title. Sammy said to himself, “Someday, I’m gonna wrestle that man. Not only wrestle, but beat him!”

That didn’t happen. But here’s how Sammy sees it: there is unfinished business. So next week, on Dynamite, Sammy wants a rematch! And in a Best 2 Out of 3 Falls! Because when Sammy beats Bryan, he wants no shadow of a doubt in who the best wrestler is when Sammy beats Bryan twice in one night!

Mark Henry speaks with tonight’s main eventers!

The World’s Strongest Man says to Prince Nana that he and The Gates of Agony are facing two singles champions in Wardlow & Samoa Joe. Are they ready? Nana says, “Huh? Mark Henry, what kind of question is that? Of course the Embassy is ready, we stay ready. We have Bishop Kaun, we have Toa, the Gates of Agony. Ladies and gentlemen, WarJoe, the question is this: Are YOU ready to walk through the Gates of Hell?”

Joe says Nana never quite has it, but Wardlow says no more talking. He’s walked through hell, he ain’t worried. He’s just concerned with one thing: Powerhouse Hobbs! Hobbs has attacked from behind twice, so Wardlow dares him to do it a third time. “I DARE YOU!” Wardlow storms off, Joe follows, and Mark says it looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s time for the main event! Toa roars and he heads out, will the Gates of Agony still be standing when these two tanks barrel into them?

The teams sort out and Wardlow tarts with Kaun. Kaun dodges, ducks, then slides out to taunt Wardlow. Wardlow is frustrated already but he waits as Kaun returns. Wardlow runs in but into a shoulder! Kaun slingshots, but Wardlow RAMS him into a corner! Wardlow keeps throwing in his shoulder, then lets off to UPPERCUT! Wardlow throws another shoulder, another uppercut, then runs in. Kaun dodges, fires off body shots and then whips corner to corner. Kaun runs in to SPLASH! Kaun growls but Wardlow CLOBBERS him! Fans fire up and Wardlow rains down fists! Wardlow lets off to drag Kaun up and he tags Joe in.

Fans fire up as Joe brings Kaun around, but Kaun gets away. Tag to Toa Liona, and fans sing, “Joe is gonna kill~ you!” Joe circles with Liona, they tie up, and Liona UPPERCUTS Joe! Liona RAMS Joe into a corner, fires off, but lets off as the ref counts. Liona snarls but Joe CHOPS him! And JABS! JABS! JABS! Joe backs Liona down and then fires off more JABS before he AX HANDLES Liona down! Fans fire up, Joe brings Liona up, but Liona throws big knees! Liona whips, Joe reverses and back elbows in the corner, to PELE! Fans fire up but Kaun creeps over. Joe backs Kaun down with a glare, then goes back for Liona.

Liona BITES Joe’s ear! Tyson was here, Liona must be taking a page out of his playbook! The ref counts, Liona lets off, and Kaun CLOBBERS Joe! Cover, ONE!! Joe is still in this but Liona hammers away while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Liona drags Joe up, tags Kaun in, and the Gates of Agony mug Joe. They CLUB Joe, CHOKE him on the ropes, then let off at the ref’s count. Kaun CHOPS Joe, ROCKS him, then CHOPS again. Joe CHOPS back! Kaun throws a forearm, a knee, and then headlocks. Liona tags in, the Gates mug Joe again, and then Liona whips Kaun in for a SPLASH! Kaun feeds Joe to a LARIAT! Cover, ONE!! Liona is frustrated but he drags Joe into a claw in the shoulder. Fans rally as Joe endures, but Liona has a full back mount for more leverage. Joe still fights up, throws body shots, but Liona knees low! Joe falls over and Liona tags Kaun.

Kaun drags Joe around to CLUB him down. And CLUB him again. Kaun CLUBS Joe at the ropes but Joe goes to a corner. Kaun smothers Joe with a forearm but lets off as the ref counts. Joe CHOPS back again! Joe HEADBUTTS Kaun and Kaun drops to a knee. Joe brings Kaun up but Kaun rakes the eyes! Kaun digs his boot into Joe’s neck while pulling on an arm. The ref counts, Kaun lets off and he tags Liona. Liona takes the handoff to pull on the arm and SLAM it down. Liona kicks Joe around, pie faces him, then taunts the fans. Joe CHOPS Liona! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Liona throat chops!

Liona whips, Joe reverses but Liona comes back to CLOBBER Joe! Liona drags Joe over, tags Kaun in, and they stomp Joe down. Kaun clamps on a chinlock and he grinds Joe down. Joe endures, even as a knee digs into his back. Rampage returns to single picture and Joe fights up as fans rally. Joe throws body shots, but Kaun dropkicks! Joe staggers, Kaun runs in, but into an URENAGE! Fans fire up as Joe crawls for his corner, hot tag to Wardlow! Wardlow rallies on the Gates, and gets Kaun with a GERMAN SUPLEX! And then another GERMAN SUPLEX! Liona rushes in, Wardlow gets around but Liona fights the waistlock.

Liona elbows free, runs, but into a REBOUND GERMAN! Wardlow roars and fans fire up! Wardlow runs but Kaun BOOTS him! Kaun runs in but into a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, Liona breaks it! Liona hammers away on Wardlow but the ref counts. Liona roars, runs, but Joe trips Liona and drags him out! COQUINA CLUTCH! Fans fire up and Wardlow has Kaun now! Wind up and LARIAT! Nana can’t believe it, but his Gates of Agony have fallen! But here comes the POWERHOUSE! Will Hobbs heard what Wardlow had to say, so here he comes! Wardlow pushes Joe aside so he can dare Hobbs to fight! Joe lets that one slide, but will Wardlow still be standing after taking on the Breaker of Backs?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage here, with quite a bit set up for Full Gear. Rampages being live seem to be the whole reason Rampages matter now. The promos from the BCC and JAS setting up a ROH Championship Fatal 4 Way is great stuff, and of course Jericho is going to use Bryan and Claudio against each other while also assuming he can just use one of his own teammates as an insurance policy. But with how Sammy looked after being asked to take the fall, and how he called Bryan out, it’d be quite the twist if it was Sammy leaving Jericho’s faction and actually meaning it this time. But one way or another, given it’s a Fatal 4 Way, it’s very likely Jericho retains because his strategy plays out.

Great opening with the All-Atlantic Championship. I thought Shibata was going to lose because of Pac interfering, but it was much more meaningful that he and Cassidy had a great match that finished clean. It was a bit rough at parts but Shibata might’ve been trying to do more than he’s actually ready for. And Mike Tyson’s good speaking on commentary, but his timing’s a bit off, as he did crosstalk with the others quite a bit. But Tyson also seems like a genuine fan, so he was probably just genuinely excited. And Cassidy can still have a title match for Full Gear against Pac, or just about anyone.

Britt & Hayter of course won the tag match, and while Storm had a good promo, her getting beat down in that brawl is natural for the math of the build. Hayter stands tall now, and will probably find other ways to stand tall as we get closer to Full Gear, suggesting Storm retains the title. And I really liked Starks’ promo. This World Title Eliminator Tournament field is already great just on Dante Martin, Ethan Page and Ricky Starks. Starks could very well be a shoe-in for finalist as fans really do like him, and he really does have everything to be champion. And Starks calling out the pillars, he and MJF should feud just for the hell of it, title or not.

And while WARJOE VS Gates of Agony wasn’t advertised, they gave us a really good tag match for the main event. I figured WARJOE would win, but I like the detail of Wardlow wanting after Hobbs and even getting on Joe’s nerves a touch. If WARJOE isn’t pulling off the Two Man Power Trip, they might as well have a reason to split. But either way, Wardlow VS Hobbs, I bet that happens at Full Gear, and that could go either way because Hobbs himself has what it takes to be champion. And it’d be awesome for all the former Team Taz members to get belts.
