QUICK NOTES

A good card here, but wow, a TWELVE Man Tag? Literally the biggest tag match AEW’s ever done, but it’s very likely that the Trustbusters (Daivari, Kiss & Jeeves Kay) & Wingmen (Avalon, Bononi & Nemeth) take the loss to the mishmash of Firm and other young stars. Ethan and Hardy probably argue to where the finish is won by someone else, like Konosuke or Top Flight. And Athena’s first title defense being on here and not even Rampage is a bit lame, but I guess it gives people reason to watch Elevation.

ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena VS Vertvixen!

The Fallen Goddess won at Final Battle and dethroned the OG Badass! This is now Athena’s era, but will it last more than a week? Or will she already be a fallen champion?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see what it takes for a new champion to stay champion!

The Code of Honor is upheld and the bell rings. Athena then SHOTGUNS Vert down! Fans fire up as Vert bails out and Athena waves to her fans. Fans rally for “ATHENA! ATHENA!” and she fires off fast hands to then ROCK Vert! Athena whips and Vert hits railings hard! Fans fire up while Vert shakes out the cobwebs. Athena puts Vert back in, kicks her around, and then drags Vert up to fishhook her face! The ref counts, Athena throws Vert down, and she glares at the ref. Athena whips but Vert blocks. Athena kicks low, snapmares but Vert handsprings through! Vert CLOBBERS Athena! Fans boo but Vert fireman’s carries!

Athena fights free, spins Vert around and whips her to a corner. Vert goes up and over, eggs Athena on, then sweeps the legs to BASEMENT COMPLETE SHOT! Vert kips up, fires up, and runs but Athena avoids the Meteora! Athena kips up to SLIDING FOREARM! Fans fire up as Athena rains down hands! The ref warns Athena about closed fists but Athena lets off. Athena stomps Vert in the corner, lets off to run and BOOT WASH! Athena drags Vert up into a GERMAN SUPLEX! Vert staggers up, Athena whips her and POP-UP POWERBOMBS! Then a roll through to a SUPERKICK! Fans fire up as Athena howls to the moon!

Athena grabs Vert for a CROSSFACE!! She bends Vert all the way back! Vert taps, Athena wins!

Winner: Athena, by submission (still ROH Women’s World Champion)

They say it’s harder to hold onto a title than to get it, but Athena made that look easy! But she does make Vert feel it past the bell ringing. Athena lets off when she’s satisfied, but will she never let go of the title? Wait, she puts the title down, and brings Vert over! She SMASHES Vert off the belt!! The Fallen Goddess is ruthless, she drags Vert up again! She DDTS Vert on the belt!! And she shouts at the ref to leave her alone! Will nothing stop Athena from sinking her teeth into the AEW and ROH Women’s Divisions?
