This here is icing on the cake as he gets to help fellow Blackpool Combat Club member exact revenge on Darius & Dante Martin for denying the club that $300,000 cash prize for Christmas! Will Bryan & Moxley both get to kick some heads in? Or will the win streak end before it begins?

Moxley makes his entrance from the crowd as always, but Dante FLIES out onto him!! Portland fires up as Darius helps Dante up, and then Bryan DIVES at them! But Top Flight catches the American Dragon to TOSS him at the railing! Then Top Flight puts Moxley in and the bell rings! Darius KICKS Moxley around, drags him up and ROCKS Moxley with forearms! Moxley shoots around to headlock but Darius powers out. Moxley runs Darius over, but Darius stands up to SLAP Moxley! Moxley swings, Darius dodges and DROPKICKS Moxley down! Fans fire up as Darius covers, ONE!! Darius rains down fists then gives uppercuts!

Darius whips Moxley to the Top Flight corner then runs in, but Moxley pops him up. Dante tags in, Darius lands on the apron, Darius CHOPS and Dante A-LIST LARIATS! Darius then snap suplexes Moxley down and kips up out of the way for Dante’s slingshot senton! And STANDING MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Moxley whips Dante but Dante sunset flips! Moxley stays up, he tags Bryan, and fans fire up! Dante finishes the sunset but Bryan KICKS away on Dante’s back! And again, and again, and again! Bryan CHOPS Dante in the corner, KICKS, CHOPS again, repeat! The ref reprimands but Bryan fires off more KICKS!

Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” and then Bryan whips Dante corner to corner. Bryan runs in to DROPKICK Dante! And then CHOPS him! And KICKS! Bryan hoists Dante up top, climbs up to the top rope, and he rains down fists! Fans count all the way to “OCHO!” but Bryan goes for TEN! Then the SUPER STEINER, but Dante lands on his feet!! Dante hurdles Bryan, SHOTGUNS him down, then tags Darius! Darius goes up, he MISSILE DROPKICKS Bryan away! Moxley tags in but Darius DROPKICKS him, too! Fans fire up with Darius and he brings Moxley up. Moxley shoves Darius away, Dante tags in and springboards, but into a kick!

Moxley tags Bryan, then he suplexes Dante. Darius saves Dante, Moxley dodges Darius’ haymaker, but Darius ducks Bryan’s roundhouse! Top Flight flanks Bryan & Moxley as they all stare down! Fans are thunderous as the teams dare each other to do something. And then the brawl is on! The ref reprimands them all but Bryan KICKS away on Darius! Dante runs but Moxley TOSSES him out! Bryan tosses Darius out the other side, Moxley sends Dante into railing! Bryan drags Darius up while Moxley makes Dante take a seat. Bryan THRWOS Darius into a chair! Moxley BOOTS Dante down! Bryan makes Darius take a seat for KICKS!

Bryan then gets space, Moxley coordinates, DOUBLE DROPKICKS in the corner of the railing! The ref tells them to get this in the ring, so the BCC puts Dante in. Bryan drags Dante by a leg for a toehold and Dante endures. Bryan turns Dante over, hooks up the legs, and then he gets the arms. Fans fire up as Bryan goes up, up and away into the ROMERO SPECIAL! Dante endures, fans cheer, and Bryan sets Dante down, to pull his hair and fishhook the nose, to get the DRAGON SLEEPER!! Dante flails, claws at Bryan, but Bryan fires off forearms! Bryan throws Dante down, then looms over Dante. Bryan sits Dante up to CHOP him back down!

Tag to Moxley, Bryan sits Dante up for Moxley’s PENALTY KICK! And another! And another! Moxley CHOPS Dante, puts him up top, and then climbs up after him! SUPERPLEX! Cover, TWO! But Moxley has the ARMBAR!! Dante clasps hands, Moxley moves around, and he tags in Bryan. Dante kicks around but Bryan stomps the hands! Bryan then grabs Dante’s hand for a knuckle lock. Bryan isolates the arm, and STOMPS it as AEW goes picture in picture!

Dante clutches his arm but Bryan KICKS Dante in the back. Then KICKS him in the front! Then stomps him down! Bryan then clamps on for HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Bryan then shifts right into the LEBELL LOCK!! Dante scrambles around, reaches out, and gets the ROPEBREAK! Bryan lets go and he drags Dante over to tag Moxley. Moxley brings Dante around and reels him in, for a PILEDIRVER! Cover, TWO!! But Moxley has a leg for the HALF CRAB! Dante endures, reaches out, but Moxley shifts to get the FUJIWARA ARMBAR! Dante still endures, he fights his way up and rolls, but Moxley stomps him down!

Rampage returns to single picture as Moxley stands Dante up. Moxley DECKS Dante, tags Bryan, and fans rally for Dante. Moxley flips off Darius, then he and Bryan DOUBLE KICK Dante! They KICK him from both sides at once, and again, and again! Then they aim, but Dante ducks! Buzzsaw kicks collide! Dante crawls to hot tag Darius! Fans fire up as Darius CHOPS Bryan, ROCKS Moxley, and repeat! Moxley goes to one corner, Bryan to the other. Darius runs in to EuroUpper Moxley! Bryan runs in but Darius goes up and over, so Bryan RAMS into Moxley! Darius runs back in to ENZIGURI Moxley! Fans fire up and Darius brings Bryan up.

Darius CHOPS Bryan, whips, but Bryan reverses to KICK! Bryan brings Darius around, and he SLAPS Darius! “You wanna fight BCC?” Bryan KICKS and KICKS and KICKS! Darius says, “Is that the best you got?!” Bryan likes the guts, so he kicks, but Darius blocks! Darius ROCKS Bryan, CHOPS him, ROCKS him, repeat! Darius whips corner to corner, Bryan goes up and over! Bryan keeps moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but into a SPANISH FLY!! Both men are down and the fans are thunderous! The teams sort out, but while the Renegades get fired up, Britt & Hayter attack! They mug the sisters, Britt tosses Charlette out and then RAMS her into railing while Hayter keeps on Robyn in the ring. The bell rings to make this official, and Britt mocks Charlette. Hayter whips Robyn in the corner, fans rally behind her and she runs in to back elbow! Hayter whips Robyn the other way, but Robyn goes up and over to DROPKICK! Robyn runs in to DOUBLE KNEE Hayter, then she snapmares Hayter. Robyn runs to SHOTGUN Hayter down, then covers, TWO! Robyn smirks, she drags Hayter up and bumps her off Charlette’s boot.

The ref reprimands, but the Renegades tag. The sister put some stank on their DOUBLE CHOPS! But Hayter hits back! Fans fire up as she DECKS Robyn, but Charlette ROCKS and CHOPS and CHOPS in return! Brody King tells Eddie that one year ago, the House promised to turn Eddie’s eyes black, “like a shark smelling blood.” And yet, Eddie kept them waiting. And now, the House will make Eddie hear it, “because the sound will be deafening.” Buddy Matthews says Eddie is sick. Julia Hart says they’re just here to help. The House fades to black, but will they make Eddie see the light?

He is no longer The Dark Order’s Number Ten. He is now La Faccion Ingobernable’s Perro Peligroso, their Dangerous Dog! Will this dog take a bite out of his opponent? Or will Sonico be a blue blur, too fast for the naked eye?

The bell rings and fans boo Vance. Vance storms up to Sonico, shoves him, but Sonico CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Vance doesn’t flinch! Sonico runs, but into a SPINEBUSTER! Vance flexes, fans boo, and now Vance mocks the ten chant before he tells the fans off. Vance then clamps onto Sonico with the TOP TEN FULL NELSON! Or maybe this is the Dangerous Dog Nelson? But Vance doesn’t let Sonico fade out, he shoves him to ropes and hits the DISCUS LARIAT! Cover, Vance wins!

Renee Paquette interviewed Darby Allin, congratulating him on winning the TNT Championship. How was Darby feeling after winning it back in his hometown? Darby was feeling great, but then The Kingdom mockingly applauded as they sarcastically congratulated Darby. “What a moment! What a match!” Mike Bennett is so happy for Darby. And does Darby know why? It’s because Bennett has only been here for a little bit, but AEW has an “entitlement issue.” And that’s funny to Bennett, cuz he’s a former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion! A two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion! An Impact X-Division Champion! Bennett has worked everywhere in pro-wrestling!

And yet, Bennett has no entitlement issues. Though, neither does Darby, and that’s why Bennett likes Darby. He also likes that Darby issues open challenges. So now that Darby is a two-time TNT Champion, how about another open challenge? Bennett promised to be in Portland for Rampage, so Darby said if that’s what Bennett wants… Darby says the open challenges he issues are never-ending, it was just his reign that did. But since the reign is back on, Rampage, the TNT title, if Bennett wants some… Darby pie faces Bennett with the belt, and Taven mockingly says, “He’s so brooding!” But that time has come, the TNT title is our main event!

Mark Henry speaks with tonight’s main eventers.

The World’s Strongest Man welcomes us back to Rampage, and says Darby Allin “took a savage beating on Wednesday in winning the TNT title. But you’re gonna face Mike Bennett from The Kingdom tonight on such short notice? Why?” Bennett says he can answer that. “Because everyone already assumes they know who Darby Allin really is, just like they already assume they know who Mike Bennett is. They think Darby Allin’s Mr. Daredevil, Mr. Death-Defying, Mr. Darkness. But that’s not real, is it, Darby? That’s all cosplay. I’ve seen real darkness. What I’ve been through, most people don’t survive.

“So tonight, you’re gonna see who I really am. I’m gonna introduce you to the real Mike Bennett.” Darby asks if Mike is done, and sarcastically says that was “beautiful.” But let’s talk about Darby’s past for a bit. Portland, Oregon is where Darby debuted, and everyone in the locker room told him that he wasn’t gonna amount to anything in this business, can’t lace up their boots, etc. But look at Darby now! Mike’s past doesn’t matter, Darby’s past doesn’t matter! The only thing that matters in this second is the TNT title. And Darby has nothing else to say, so Mark, hit your line. “Well, looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s time for the main event!”

Will The Kingdom strike gold to start their 2023? Or will they all learn just how relentless Darby Allin can be?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if being a fighting champion pays off!

The bell rings, Darby stares Mike down while sitting in the corner. Portland rallies behind Darby while Taven tells Darby to do something. Darby stands up, takes off his jacket, and then steps up to Mike. They talk a little trash, and Mike shoves Darby. Mike eggs Darby on so Darby headlocks! Mike pries free, wrenches and wristlocks but Darby rolls and wrenches back. Fans rally, Mike slips through to wrench Darby, but Darby moves around to slip through and hammerlock. Mike powers Darby back to a corner, the ref counts, and Darby lets off. Darby avoids Mike’s cheap shot and keeps hold of the wrist!

The ref counts, Darby wrenches and hammerlocks again, then he headlocks for a takeover! Fans rally, Mike keeps his shoulders up, and he fights up to power Darby to a corner. Mike puts Darby up top, Darby lets go, but Mike CHOPS! Darby SLAPS! Mike CHOPS, Darby SLAPS, repeat! Fans fire up as the SLAPS rain down! But Mike SUPERKICKS Darby’s bad leg! Darby flops to the floor and hobbles around. Mike storms out after Darby to whip him hard into railing! Fans boo but Mike storms in to BOOT Darby down! Mike then whips and TOSSES Darby into the railing! And BOOTS him down again!

The ref counts, fans boo Mike but he soaks up the heat. Taven gives Mike a hand and sends him running in at Darby, but Darby dodges! Mike crashes into railing and hobbles away! Darby pursues, and he fires off forearms! Darby whips Mike at the ring but Mike hops up and rebounds off ropes to then CLOBBER Darby! Mike puts Darby in the ring, grins, but Darby SHOTGUNS Mike off the apron! Darby then builds speed and he DIVES! Taven takes the hit for Mike! Mike gets in the ring, Darby hurries after him, but Mike ROCKS Darby first! Mike then slingshots to the apron for a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP to the floor!

Fans lose their minds while both men stir, and AEW goes picture in picture. The ref checks but both men are okay to continue. Taven and Maria coach Mike up, and Mike drags Darby up and into the ring. Cover, TWO! Mike is annoyed, but he drags Darby up and has the bad leg. Darby fires off SLAP after SLAPO, but Mike clamps onto an arm! WRISTLOCK DDT! Darby clutches that arm now but Mike storms over to him. Mike stomps Darby down, stalks him to a corner, but the fans rally for Darby. Mike wrenches the bad arm, UPPERCUTS it, and Darby leans against ropes. Mike brings Darby up to hang him out to dry!

Darby flops down to the mat while Mike paces. Maria mocks Darby’s pain and Mike stomps Darby down. Mike drags Darby up, brings him around, and he suplexes Darby up. Darby slips out to hit a SCORPION DEATH DROP! Shoutout to the Icon and both men are down! A standing count starts, Maria & Taven coach Mike while Darby crawls to a corner. Fans count along to “OCHO!” Mike runs in but blocks a boot to then DRAGON SCREW Darby down! Darby clutches the leg, but Mike DDTs the foot! Mike stomps Darby’s bad leg, and then stalks Darby to ropes. Mike drags Darby up and brings him around to get the leg again.

Darby resists and fires forearms! Mike CLUBS the leg, but Darby fires off forearm after forearm! Mike CLUBS the leg again, Darby fires off fast hands! Darby keeps on Mike as Rampage returns to single picture! But Mike CHOPS back! Darby ROCKS Mike! Mike CHOPS Darby! Darby ROCKS Mike! And again, and again, and again! Darby fires up, but Mike DECKS Darby! Mike fireman’s carries for a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Darby survives and fans rally up. Mike snarls, “I’m gonna kill him!” Mike drags Darby up, but Darby resists the lift to back drop Mike! Mike sunset flips, Darby rolls through, but Mike kicks out the legs!

Darby falls into Mike’s DOUBLE WRISTLOCK! Fans rally, Darby floats, it’s a cover, TWO! Mike still has the wristlock but Darby gets the ROPEBREAK! Mike holds until 4, Darby slips out, and the ref tells Taven to back off. Mike goes out after Darby, but Darby trips Mike off the apron! And then RAMS him into railing! Taven gets in Darby’s face but Darby just grabs a chair! Darby scares Taven off with the chair, and the ref reprimands about the chair. Darby sets the chair down, and he makes Mike take a seat so he can fire off forearms! Darby then goes up to the apron, and he climbs up the corner!

Portland fires up as Darby reaches the very top! SUPER MISSILE DROPKICK!! Darby blasts Mike outta the chair and Portland loses their minds! Maria is also losing her mind for what Darby just did to her husband! Darby drags Mike up and in, “This is Awesome!” as Darby climbs up again. But then Maria crawls in to cover her husband! She won’t let Darby finish him off! The fans boo but Darby just figures what the hell! The ref hurries to get Maria out of the way, but that allows Taven to GAMANGIRI Darby!! Mike then hurries to drag Darby up, for a PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!!! Darby survives and shocks The Kingdom!

Fans are thunderous as Darby stirs. Maria and Taven shout at Mike to finish this, and Mike drags Darby to a corner. Mike hoists Darby up top and then CHOPS him! Mike climbs up, reels Darby in, but Darby kicks and flails! Darby HEADBUTTS Mike low, and then dribbles Mike’s face off the buckles! Darby then hops on, for a SUPER CODE RED!!! Darby puts Mike in the drop zone, goes up top, and Portland is electric for the COFFIN DROP!!! Cover, Darby wins!!

What a way to kick off the new reign! Darby Allin is truly relentless, but how far can he take this title in the new year?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage to start 2023! Great opener with BCC VS Top Flight, and commentary was talking out whether or not the tag match would/should count towards Bryan’s challenge with MJF. Honestly, if every match Jade Cargill has counts towards her undefeated streak, then every match Bryan has should count towards his #1 contender status. Honestly, it also lets MJF nitpick things since that’s the kind of Heel he is. But either way, great stuff, and BCC is winning matches while making their opponents look awesome, Top Flight definitely should get going towards some tag title or even trios title story.

Britt & Hayter VS The Renegades was also a very good tag match, with very similar tone where the Renegades looked great and even got some fans on their side before it was over. But of course The Pillar & The Killer win to have momentum going into their tag match. And of course Vance won in his return to action, he can’t make LFI look bad. But he also does a good job adding on the Heel heat by unmasking Sonico and humiliating him in front of his hometown crowd. I was a little surprised we got no Dark Order appearance, this would’ve been the right time for Silver & Reynolds to show up and confront Vance to set up Dark Order VS LFI.

Good promo from the House of Black to spin things back onto Eddie, daring him to bring out the old viciousness he had. Great promo from Hangman to really hype up the match with Moxley, that thing is going to be nuts, and it really could go either way. Good promo from after Dynamite that set up tonight’s main event, good promos just before the main event, and a great main event to segue into Battle of the Belts 5 and all its title matches. Bennett looked good, even in defeat, but of course Darby won to keep his new reign going. Darby can really ramp the TNT title back up as well as his own career, and hopefully he keeps having match after match to really give the midcard things to do.
