Backstage interview with Jade Cargill.
Lexi Nair is with the AEW TBS Champion, as well as her lawyer, Mark Sterling. Jade is having her make-up done as Lexi says she asked for this time. Jade says, “Ugh, Lacey, not today.” Sterling handles this since Jade is busy. It was announced for next week’s Dynamite that we finally see Jade Cargill VS Taya Valkyrie for the TBS Championship. And they will finally get rid of Taya once and for all. But there was also a big win for the Jade Brand as they got it put in writing: Taya CANNOT, can not, use the chicken wing facebuster in that match, regardless of the name. And if Taya does, she will be DISQUALIFIED! And so, Jade and team are excited for this match. That is all.
How will La Wera Loca win without her best move? Or does she have another move up her proverbial sleeve that can stop #ThatBitch?
Hook heads to the ring!
The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil is here in Steel City, but he’s not alone. Here come the Hardy Boyz! And Isiah Lassidy, too! Fans join in with “DELETE! DELETE!” and the Jeff Hardy dance as Jeff, Matt and Isiah join Hook in the ring. Kassidy has the mic to ask if they’re all ready from ya boi, Jeff Hardy, give ’em a “HELL YEAH!” “HELL YEAH!” Kassidy hands the mic to Jeff, and Jeff says, “Hello, everyone!” Fans cheer and Jeff says it is super cool to be back in the Elite World. Nine months ago, he didn’t think this would be possible. He worked so hard to reach this moment right now.
Fans chant “Welcome Back!” for Jeff, and he thanks them. Jeff is working to love himself again. So the smartest thing to do is retire. Fans boo because they can’t believe it. “From screwing up! I’m here in AEW to end my career on an extremely high note instead of a depressing low! I love each and every one of you! We’ll see and time will tell, the future is waiting for us to prevail.” Fans cheer that, that’s a good swerve he pulled. Matt takes the mic to say that we should talk about the #FirmDeletion! Fans cheer and yet Stokely Hathaway appears via the tron! “Jeff Hardy, how the hell are you? You wanna know how I am? I am pissed to the highest level of pissed-tivity!”
Fans boo but Stokely says all week long, he’s emailed the Hardys, he’s called them, paged them, and even sent a fax to know the details “of this dumbass match.” But they can’t even respond because they’re too busy at the house with the wife ‘n’ kids going, “Aaaah~!” Stokely also does the Hardy finger guns to the face. Stokely wants an answer! Matt says this is dreadful etiquette from “Stoke.” But Matt’s good, Stokely doesn’t need an answer right now, he’ll get the answer when Matt’s good and ready. Stokely says okay, that’s fine. Stokely’s been working hard at being a better man. So he will have patience, God bless.
But that’s because THE FIRM attacks from behind! Big Bill Morrissey CLOBBERS Matt ‘n’ Kassidy! Lee Moriarty TACKLES Jeff, and Ethan Page BOOTS Hook! Stokely is back on screen to say, “Damn, that’s crazy.” The Firm toss out Jeff and Hook, then throw Matt out so they can mug Kassidy! Stokely laughs as Ethan is fed to EGO’S EDGE! Fans boo but The Firm soaks it all up. And they’re not done, as they drag Kassidy out of the ring! They wanna take him to the back!? They haul Kassidy away but then the Hardys return with chairs! The Firm runs off, but did they just change the Firm Deletion’s outcome with this attack?
AEW shares the aftermath of Dynamite.
After Adam Cole was attacked by Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia, and then forced to watch as The Outcasts brutalized Britt Baker, the Undisputed Couple were brought to medical in the back. Cole assured Britt she’d be okay, and he apologized for what happened, feeling it was his fault. Britt’s back is still in question, how will Cole respond this Wednesday?
Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes speak.
The Limitless One says he was almost out, “and then someone dragged me in.” Someone asked Keith about his match against Chris Jericho, and he can say that Jericho earned a modicum of respect, but Keith can also say that he was certainly going to win, if not for the… interjection of Swerve Strickland. Dustin says Naturally Limitless is back, the greatest duo since Travolta & Jackson in Pulp Fiction. And guess what? Next week, on Rampage, they descend on Florida! Will Keith & Dustin send a message to Swerve and his Mogul Embassy?
Julia Hart VS Kiera Hogan!
Anna Jay stepped up to the The House of Black’s “spooky b*tch,” and got blinded by the mist! Will Julia continue to cast her shadow on the AEW Women’s Division? Or will Kiera’s fire be a light in the darkness?
The bell rings and the two stare down. Fans rally up as Julia and Kiera step closer. Julia dodges Kiera and smirks, but Kiera keeps cool. They go again, Julia dodges, but then she SLAPS Kiera! Kiera runs to HIP ATTACK! Kiera YANKS Julia back, runs and STEP-UP LEG DROPS! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and Kiera eggs Julia on. Julia wrenches, ROCKS and HOOK KICKS! Julia then CHOKES Kiera! The ref counts but Kiera ROCKS Julia!
Kiera ROCKS Julia again and again, then CHOPS! Fans fire up and Kiera runs in to CLOBBER Julia! Kiera starts to rally, she spins Julia around and snapmares to SUPERKICK! Fans fire up again as Julia goes to a corner. Kiera runs Around the World for a BOOT WASH! Cover, TWO! Julia grits her teeth while fans rally and duel. Kiera drags Julia up but Julia JAWBREAKERS! And then NECKBREAKERS! And then kips up, to STANDING MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Kiera hangs tough and Julia stares daggers. Julia hooks Kiera up, HARTLESS, but into a cradle! TWO!! Kiera gets up, boots Julia, but Julia ducks the roundhouse!
Julia KICKS the legs out, SMACKS Kiera off the mat, then hooks her up again! HARTLESS!! Kiera is caught, she taps, Julia wins!
Winner: Julia Hart, by submission
Hart sings along with her own song, The House Always Wins, but wait! Here comes Anna Jay! Jay and Julia brawl! Anna trips Julia, rains down hands, but Julia turns it around to return those fists! Anna kicks Julia away, the forearms and haymakers fly again, and refs rush out to stop this! Fans want to “Let Them Fight!” and Anna gets loose! Anna ROCKS Julia but the refs bring her back! Anna shouts that they’re not done here! How far will the Queenslayer go to break the Black Hart?
Backstage interview with Christopher Daniels.
Lexi says that as “a veteran of the game,” Daniels has earned the respect of most all his peers, and including Moxley here tonight. Daniels says that’s a nice sentiment, but he’s not here for respect alone. Daniels is here for victories, he is here for championships, and if he has to go through men like Moxley again… Daniels stops because he sees Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta walk in wearing Blackpool Combat Club jackets. Claudio has Lexi leave, and Daniels gets ready to fight. But Moxley walks in to have Claudio & Yuta stand down. CD’s cool, man, he’s an OG. Daniels says maybe he was wrong about Moxley. Seems he has some honor left in him.
Moxley nods, and then sucker punches Daniels! Moxley dribbles Daniels’ face off the locker! “We never changed. It’s everybody else who’s out of their damn minds.” Daniels is busted open! Does the BCC have no shame in how they treat others?
8 Man Tag: FTR & Triple J VS The Varsity Athletes & Slim J w/ Mark Sterling!
When Mark Briscoe got jumped by Tony Nese, Josh Woods, Ari Daivari and the Trustbusters’ number one investment, naturally his friends checked up on him. However, Cash & Dax don’t really get along with Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett, and who can blame them? But can these four pull together to avenge the Sussex County Chicken? Or will Smart Mark’s stable stomp them all out like they did Mark?
The teams sort out and fans rally for FTR as Dax starts against Slim. They circle, tie up, and Dax powers Slim back but Slim puts Dax in the corner. Slim fires hands, the ref reprimands and counts, and Slim lets off, to then CHOKE Dax! The ref counts, Slim lets off at 4, and he argues with the ref. But Dax CHOPS him in return! Jarrett whips corner to corner hard and Slim bounces off the buckles. Tag to Lethal, Jarrett whips Slim and kicks! Lethal runs in to SWINGING NECKBREAKER! Lethal does a victory lap, flexes, then he covers, TWO! Lethal drags Slim over, tells FTR to stay back, but Cash tags himself in. Lethal has to go get Slim, and then Lethal and Cash double suplex. Slim slips free to shove Cash into Lethal! Lethal falls out of the ring, Woods HOTSHOTS Cash! The ref reprimands but Slim CLOBBERS Cash! Slim drags Cash up, brings him over and tags in Daivari. They mug Cash, then Daivari kicks Cash out of the ring!
The ref reprimands Daivari, but this allows Woods to get a cheap shot! Woods puts Cash in for Daivari to stomp! The ref is busy with Dax as he protests, and then Sonjay gets in Sterling’s face! Daivari CHOKES Cash on the ropes, but lets off at 4. Tag to Woods and he drags Cash up to put in the open corner. Woods RAMS into Cash again and again, but lets off as the ref reprimands. Woods mocks Cash, brings him up and bumps him off buckles. Tag to Nese and Nese stomps away on Cash. The ref counts, Nese lets off at 4, but that lets Slim get his shots in! The ref again has to keep Dax back, but then Satnam steps up!
The Varsity Athletes let off of Cash and tell the One in a Billion to back up. Nese drags Cash up, throws knees, then tags Woods back in. The Varsity Athletes mug Cash more as Rampage goes to break.
Rampage returns and Woods has Cash down with a chinlock. Fans rally as Cash endures and fights up. Cash moves around but Woods grinds him down. Cash still fights up, and he arm-drags free! Cash runs, Woods catches him and keeps him away! But Cash KNEES back! Both men fall over and fans rally up again! Hot tag to Daivari and he CLOBBERS Cash! Daivari whips and puts Cash in a SLEEPER! But Cash hits a BIG back suplex! Both men are down again and fans rally back up! Tag to Nese, he runs in but Cash goes up and over, hot tag to Dax! Dax JABS away on Nese, then DECKS him with a right!
Slim runs in, Dax DECKS him! Daivari runs in, Dax DECKS him! Woods runs in, Dax dodges to DECK him! Lethal & Jarrett help out and they keep after Slim and Daivari! Dax escapes, and he argues with Jarrett! About the punch, and about there being no save! Jarrett says it was all an accident, but they start shoving each other. Nese runs in, Jarrett pushes Dax aside to catch the Premier Athlete! THE STROKE! Jarrett serves Nese up to Dax, FTR & JJJ win!
Winners: FTR & Triple J, by pinfall
Dax is still hot but Cash, Lethal, Sonjay & Satnam step in to keep the peace. Mark hurries out to also be peacemaker. Will Mark’s friends end up fighting each other over those AEW World Tag Team Championships?
A challenger approaches!
The AEW International Champion has been Freshly Squeezed for a long time, but now Orange Cassidy has been targeted by Bandido! Will El Mas Buscado, The Most Wanted, get what he most wants in winning AEW gold? Or will Cassidy still reign past defense number 20?
The Superbad Squad speaks.
Butcher tells Blade and Kip Sabian that he was eating a sandwich today when a little crumb fell off onto his shoulder and told him a secret. Seems there’s a new “super tag team” in AEW. Blade says, “Newsflash, slick! Takeshita, Kenny Omega, you wanna walk around here considering yourself a couple o’ tough guys? You gotta get through the real tough guys first! Because we ARE the Midnight Riders! We ARE The Butcher & The Blade! And we WILL kick your ass!” Kip’s killers are ready, but will they be swept away by The Cleaner and the Future of Wrestling?
Mark Henry welcomes us back to Rampage.
In tonight’s main event, the AAA Mega Championship will be defended by Vikingo against LFI’s Dralistico. As Excalibur narrates, the 25-year-old lucha prodigy goes up against a second-generation star who has held titles around the world. It’s TIME! For the main event! Will this be the most high-flying, death-defying title defense of EHDJ’s reign yet?

Dralistico drags Vikingo up, puts him in the ring, and aims from the apron. Dralistico gets fans going again, then stalks Vikingo. Dralistico stomps Vikingo, then pretends to punt Vikingo’s head. Dralistico says the kick was good, and he soaks up more heat. Dralistico seems to be getting the “DRA-LISTICO!” chants he wants, so he goes back to Vikingo. My Thoughts:
A really good Rampage here, though with only so much story progress. Great opener from Moxley and Daniels, and of course Moxley wins. But no Elite spotted, it was just Moxley being two-faced in respecting Daniels but still beating him up in the locker room. And then we get the news of Omega & Konosuke teaming against Butcher & Blade in their first outing as a tag team. I’m sure Omega & Konosuke will win that, mostly because what have the Butcher & Blade really won at all these days? I’m still expecting something to happen to Konosuke where Hangman is compelled to help The Elite against the BCC.
Good promo from Jade and Sterling, but a little disappointing that they’re still putting the ban on Taya using the same finisher as Jade. While Double or Nothing is still a month away, I feel like it’d be a great move if Taya wins without her best move. As great as Jade has done, they have stopped really trying with her booking, so her dropping the title before reaching 60-0 could actually be good stuff for her creative. She can rebuild from there, and might even move up to the AEW Women’s World Championship after the Outcast story finishes. And honestly, fans like Jade enough that even if Hayter loses the title to an Outcast, Jade can go Face against Saraya, Soho & Storm in the build to All Out.
Good but rather short match from Julia VS Kiera, and Julia gets a win for momentum going into more of a feud with Anna Jay. They’ll surely escalate to a No Disqualification match since Anna’s been in some really wild ones already. Great 8 Man Tag from FTR & Triple J VS Varsity Trustbusters. They executed the dysfunctional “can they coexist?” trope well here, especially since FTR & Triple J still won. I’m pretty sure this is all building to FTR VS Triple J for the AEW World Tag Team Championships to get a defense under this reign for Cash & Dax as they start on their final four years.
Great to hear we’re getting Cassidy VS Bandido, but I feel like Cassidy’s story with the House of Black can’t be over so soon. Sure, Best Friends lost in the Trios title match, and Cassidy beat Buddy, but I feel like Malakai Black should get his shot at Cassidy and the title before Cassidy loses. And we got an awesome main event with the AAA Mega title, but as I’ve said before in AEW and ROH coverage, this title isn’t changing hands outside of AAA events. LFI beating Vikingo down should’ve been a cue for their other rivals to make the save, but I guess there was no one like that available for this moment.
My Score: 8.6/10
