AEW World Trios Championships: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn VS The Hardy Party!

The open challenge was put forth, and it was answered very quickly! Will Matt, Jeff & Brother Zay DELETE the Scissor World Tour? Or will Max Caster, Anthony Bowens & Daddy Ass keep the party going?

But of course, Platinum Max has a diss track! “Acclaimed on the mic, ’bout to leave these dudes up in smoke! Y’know we comin’ like the Colorado Buffalos! Matt, I don’t want any heat! I don’t need your crazy ass wife sendin’ me tweets! It’s the one guy in Private Party! Nowadays, he gets tag teamed by the Hardys! Jeff, I’m a leave you black in both eyes! You gonna need these sunglasses like Coach Prime.” Bowens takes the mic to say “COLORADOOOO~! The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor Me, Daddy Ass~!” And he does! The belts are raised, and we see who survives WrestleDream weekend!

The trios sort out and Bowens starts against Kassidy. They shake hands, tie up, and Bowens waistlocks. Kassidy drop toeholds, facelocks but Bowens slips free to wrench. Kassidy rolls, handsprings, wrenches and hammerlocks to a headlock. Bowens powers out to headlock but Kassidy powers out, only for Bowens to run him over! Bowens self-scissors, then things speed up. Kassidy hurdles, Bowens shoves then follows but Kassidy arm-drags! Bowens arm-drags! Bowens blocks Kassidy’s arm-drag to whip, but Kassidy wheelbarrows and arm-drags! Bowens stands, into a RANA! Kassidy then pounds the mat and fans fire up.

Bowens kicks but Kassidy blocks to spin him. Kassidy kicks but Bowens blocks to flip him! Bowens then kicks, kicks and KOTARO KRUSHER! Fans fire up, “EVERYONE Loves The Acclaimed!” Bowens drags Kassidy up, tags in Caster, and they double whip. Kassidy holds ropes, TOSSES Bowens then BOOTS Caster! Tag to Matt and Matt BOOTS Caster! Kassidy hits a NECKBREAKER, Jeff tags in to go up, for the SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Jeff snapmares Caster to then NECK SNAPPER! Fans fire up with Jeff and he waits on Caster to stand. Kick but no Twist as Caster slips free! Jeff ducks the backhand to SPIN KICK!

Jeff CLUBS Caster, Caster scrambles away, tags to Billy and Matt! Fans fire up as Matt says “DELETE! DELETE!” Billy says “SUCK IT!” “DELETE!” “SUCK IT!” “DELETE!” “SUCK IT!” And repeat! Then Billy headlocks! Matt throws body shots, powers out, but Billy runs Matt over! Billy flexes and does a dance, and then he runs in. Matt ELBOWS Billy, BOOTS him, then bumps him off buckles! “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!” Billy gets all three layers, and Matt tags Jeff. Jeff tags Kassidy, and the Hardys set up fort he classic POETRY IN MOTION! Then Kassidy adds PARTY IN MOTION! But The Acclaimed CLOBBER Kassidy & The Hardys!

Fans fire up as Caster has Kassidy up to scoop and SLAM! Billy helps get the legs, and Bowens goes up to SCISSOR ME TIMBERS! Kassidy squeals before impact! Cover, TWO! Kassidy survives but The Acclaimed have control as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Billy brings Kassidy up, bumps him off buckles, and he hears the fans singing. Billy ROCKS Kassidy with a right, apologizes to the ref, then tags to Bowens. Bowens drags Kassidy up to ROCK him with haymaker after haymaker! Bowens then brings Kassidy up to tag in Caster. They double suplex Kassidy, Caster covers, TWO! Another cover, TWO! Caster keeps Kassidy down with a chinlock while fans rally up. Kassidy fights to his feet, throws body shots, and he fires forearms as Rampage returns to single picture. Kassidy runs but Caster CLOBBERS him! Tag to Billy and they mug Kassidy.

Billy brings Kassidy to an open corner, stomps and ROCKS him on repeat, then lets off to smirk at the Hardys. He dares them to do something, but Matt tells Billy to suck it! So Billy DECKS Matt! Billy runs corner to corner but Kassidy dodges! The splash hits buckles and Billy falls back! Fans rally up as both men crawl, but Billy gets Kassidy’s leg! Kassidy stands up to ENZIGURI! Hot tag to Jeff! Jeff rallies on Billy, on Bowens, and on Caster! Fans fire up and Jeff clotheslines Billy up and out! Jeff CLOBBS Bowens, then catches him for a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Leg hook cradle! Cover, Caster breaks it!

Caster helps Bowens up, then runs in, but Jeff ELBOWS caster and ROCKS Bowens! Jeff goes up, WHISPER IN THE WIND! Jeff gets both Caster and Bowens but everyone is down! Billy returns, kicks low, says ‘SUCK IT!” and runs, but Jeff dodges! Matt kicks Billy for a TWIST OF FATE! Jeff hurries up top, fans fire up, SWANTON BOMB! Cover, Bowens breaks it in time! Matt CLUBS Bowens, Bowens hits back, and Bowens calls to Caster. They whip Matt to a corner, forearm then ELBOW then forearm again! And a feed to the POWERSLAM! ROLLING ELBOW for Jeff! Bowens fires off the Five Tool Strike Fest! Caster hoists Kassidy up and Bowens helps, to give Kassidy the PLATINUM BOMB! Cover, The Acclaimed win!

Winners: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn, by pinfall (still AEW World Trios Championships)

A huge win for the champions, and the Scissor World Tour continues! In fact, it is heading to Seattle for WrestleDream’s Zero Hour! TMDK’s Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls & Bad Dude Tito are waiting, will they show The Acclaimed that The Mighty Don’t Kneel?

Eddie Kingston speaks.

“Well folks, tonight, it’s me and Big Rock, Rocky Romero, for the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. Rock, I got nothing but respect for you, dawg, so it’s gonna be an honor and a pleasure to defend this against you. You’re the man that got me into the G1. You’re the man that got me-” Wait, Team Triple J is interrupting. Jay Lethal says that if we’re talking honor and respect, Eddie is standing here with two titles on his shoulders, and that is worth respecting. But Lethal can’t get behind how Eddie is the ROH World Champion. Lethal dedicated his life to that title! His blood, sweat, tears, all to honor a tradition that meant that every person to hold that title would be a pure athlete!

And Eddie, you are no pure athlete! Now as for this NJPW Strong Openweight title, Lethal doesn’t care if Eddie wins it or loses it here tonight. He really doesn’t. But he just cares that Eddie is unfit to be ROH World Champion! Eddie says okay, he’s got Lethal. But excuse his back, he’s gotta go beat up Romero. The Mad King leaves, but will he still have both crowns going into WrestleDream?

AEW shares an interview from after last week’s Collision.

Lexi Nair was with Andrade El Idolo after he was bandaged up from the beating Bullet Club Gold gave him. He almost won, but Juice Robinson interfered. What was that about? Andrade says everyone saw that Andrade had White beat. But the question for Juice is… “Do you have a problem with me? With Andrade El Idolo? Lemme tell you something. See you Saturday in Seattle!” Andrade wants his revenge on Rock Hard, will he get it on WrestleDream Eve?

NJPW Strong Openweight Championship: Eddie Kingston VS Rocky Romero!

The Mad King beat Kenta at NJPW Independence Day back in July to have his first singles title under the NJPW banner. And now he defends it against Azucar as a favor for getting him in the door. Will Rocky repay this favor by taking this title from Eddie? Or will Eddie still head to Seattle as a double champion?

The introductions are made, the NJPW belt is raised, and we see who is truly NJPW Strong!

The bell rings and fans rally up for “EDDIE! EDDIE!” The two circle, Rocky tests things with a kick but Eddie stays back. They feel things out, tie up, and are in a deadlock. Eddie waistlocks, Rocky wrenches, wristlocks, but Eddie clinches. Fans rally, Rocky keeps on the wristlock but Eddie powers through to wrench and wristlock back. Rocky rolls, breaks free and DROPKICKS! Fans are torn as Rocky swaggers, but he and Eddie reset. They feel things out, knuckle lock, and Rocky knees low. Rocky headlocks, grinds the hold, but Eddie powers up and out. They RAM shoulders, but Eddie stays up with a smirk.

Fans fire up as Rocky smirks back, but then pie faces Eddie! Rocky runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and RANAS! Eddie bails out, Rocky builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit but Eddie stays up, so Rocky goes again! DIVE and Eddie drops to his knees! Rocky keeps going, and he DIVES for the hattrick, only for Eddie to catch him! Stalling suplex, to the floor! Fans rally behind Eddie while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Eddie stands, stretches out his back, and then he gets Rocky up and into the ring. Cover, TWO! Eddie keeps cool, and also chooses not to rain down fists, instead clamping on a chinlock. Rocky endures as Eddie grinds him down, and fans rally up. Eddie cranks the headlock but Rocky refuses to give up. Rocky fights up, throws elbows, but Eddie knees him low! Eddie whips to knee low again, then whips for another knee! Eddie whips but Rocky rolls him up, TWO! Rocky BUZZSAWS Eddie, then TORNADO DDTS! Both men are down and a standing count begins. Rocky stirs at 3, crawls over, and he brings Eddie up.

Eddie pushes Rocky, runs, but into an IRON OCTOPUS! Eddie endures, pries at the hold, and pops free, only for Rocky to wrangle him with a ghost pin! TWO, and Eddie goes to ropes. Rocky storms up, KICKS Eddie in the back, but Eddie just grimaces. Eddie eggs Rocky on so Rocky KICKS him again! Eddie growls and eggs Rocky on more as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Rampage returns and Eddie suplexes, but Rocky knees free! Rocky knees low, Eddie rebounds, but into a JUMP KNEE! Eddie goes to ropes, Rocky storms over and brings him up through the ropes, to KICK! Eddie eggs Rocky on even though he’s stuck, so Rocky SLAPS Eddie! Eddie SLAPS Rocky! Rocky SOBATS! Then Rocky goes up a corner to MISSILE DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Eddie is still in this and Rocky argues the count but the ref says it was fair. Rocky drags Eddie up, cravats, but no Sliced Bread! Eddie runs in to clothesline in the corner! And MACHINE GUN CHOPS! Fans fire up and Eddie hoists Rocky up top!

Eddie climbs up behind Rocky, stands him up, but Rocky throws hands! Rocky CLUBS Eddie, cravats, and hits SUPER SLICED BREAD! Cover, TWO!! Fans fire up as Eddie survives, and Rocky grits his teeth. Rocky pumps up and fans rally. Rocky runs in to clothesline! That’s one-ever! Two-ever! But URAKEN stops that! URAKEN again!! Eddie drags Rocky into the STRETCH PLUM!! Rocky taps, Eddie wins!!

Winner: Eddie Kingston, by submission (still NJPW Strong Openweight Champion)

Azucar could not dethrone The Mad King, but he still shows Eddie respect with a handshake and hug. Eddie is still NJWP Strong, but will he have to fight even harder to survive The Wrestler, Katsuyori Shibata?

Wait! That’s Shibata’s music! Shibata is HERE! He goes into the ring and shakes hands with Eddie. These two respect each other, and that means they will give it everything they’ve got! Will Eddie still be a two belt king? Or will Shibata become a TRIPLE CROWN Champion?

Aussie Open speaks.

Mark Davis says he is so tired. So tired of hearing the “top blokes” walk around here the last year, hubris unchecked, lying to the people that they are the best in the world. Kyle Fletcher says that for the last 365 days, everything Aussie Open has done has been to get back to FTR. When FTR beat them a year ago, it broke Fletcher. Fletcher felt like a failure and felt lost. So what he wants more than anything is to make FTR feel that pain. This Sunday, Aussie Open takes the AEW World Tag Team Championships, burns down the legacy of #7StarFTR, and from the ashes, rebuild a new empire that they will stand atop of to proclaim that THEY are the best tag team in the world!

The Aussie Arrow and Dunkzilla are ready to bring down Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, will they fulfill that WrestleDream?

The Righteous VS Caleb Crush & Gunnar!

Speaking of tag titles, Dutch & Vincent are aimed at the ROH World Tag Team Championships! However, Adam Cole will be out with injury so it’ll just be Maxwell Jacob Friedman meeting them in Seattle. Will this tune-up prove to be more than enough going into that tag title handicap match?

The teams sort out, but then Dutch just CLOBBERS Crush & Gunnar! Fans boo as Dutch says just a few more days and those titles will be theirs! Vincent rains down fists on Crush, then drags him up to UPPERCUT! Vincent bumps Crush off buckles, tags in Dutch, and the Righteous mugs Crush before the BOSS MAN SLAM! Gunnar staggers up but Dutch feeds him to Vinnie’s KNEE! Then Vinnie feeds him to a BOSS MAN SLAM! Tag to Vinnie, fans are torn as the Righteous pace around Crush. Vinnie snaps his fingers, then cravats, AUTUMN SUNSET! Cover, Righteous win!

Winners: The Righteous, by pinfall

A swift and dominant win, these are the two men coming for the tag titles! Will The Righteous purge ROH of the “false friendship” that is the brochachos? Or are even two Righteous men combined not on the level of the Devil?

Ortiz sits alone in a room.

He looks back on his career alongside Mike Santana. They were at the top of their game coming into AEW, but then it ended up going downhill. There’s even audio from Konnan touching on how Ortiz and Santana stopped talking to each other and how Konnan was saddened by that. Ortiz has the footage stop there. What will it take for him to get Santana to talk to him?

Darby Allin speaks.

After replaying what Christian Cage said just last Wednesday on Dynamite, the Relentless One reiterates that he is NOT losing in Seattle, Washington! Will Darby defend home turf against Captain Charisma?

Nick Wayne speaks.

He knows Darby has a lot to say about Christian Cage, and all of that will be part of the Countdown special. But Nick also knows Darby’s actions will speak louder than his words at WrestleDream. And although Darby told Nick not to be there ringside, Nick doesn’t really want to anyway because of what Christian & Luchasaurus are capable of. So, while they let Christian and Darby settle their business, how about Nick and Luchasaurus settle theirs? For months and months, Luchasaurus walked around here while another man held his title. And Luchasaurus followed Christian around like he was some kind of father figure.

And Nick isn’t sure what it is about Christian where he thinks he can even be such a figure to “us Lost Boys,” but Nick had a father. And he told Nick at a young age “to never leave your debts unpaid.” Nick owes Luchasaurus. At Wembley Stadium, Luchasaurus choke slammed Nick onto a skateboard and Nick never forgot it. Nick will repay Luchasaurus this Sunday during Zero Hour. And Nick will even hand Luchasaurus a receipt. Nick brings his own skateboard, will he grind it right into the Right Hand of Destruction?

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

AEW is going to do it big for WrestleDream Eve as, with Zack Sabre Jr. on commentary, we see an 8 Man Tag! FTR teams with Bryan Danielson & Wheeler Yuta to take on Aussie Open, Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey! Plus, Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega test their tag team chemistry against The Gates of Agony! Will The Ocho & The Cleaner survive Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun to take on the Don Callis Family? And Julia Hart gets in action to build some last minute momentum, will she be ready for Kris Statlander and their TBS Championship match set for Sunday?

Backstage interview with Zack Sabre Jr.

Renee Paquette is with The Front Man of TMDK, and says we’re just days away from WrestleDream, where ZSJ takes on The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson. ZSJ just came off a three week tour in NJPW and just got here to the States, is he worried at all about acclimating? ZSJ asks Bryan “Dragon Bullocks” Danielson, “Where are you, darling?” As Renee just said, ZSJ got off a 16 hour flight from Tokyo and is feeling fresh as a daisy. But perhaps this company’s keeping Bryan wrapped head to toe in bubble wrap, or keeps him in a giant Zorb ball. At this point, a strong gust of wind will knock Bryan over.

And is ZSJ supposed to be honored that Bryan chose him as part of the year long retirement tour? Newsflash: Bryan barely has a weekend. This Sunday isn’t just about finding out who the best technical wrestler is, no no. Bryan has retired once in Seattle, so ZSJ will make it final. Ya like that? The final retirement~! Submissions in Seattle, see you on Sunday. The NJPW World Television Champion has put Bryan on notice, but will he be able to slay the American Dragon?

AEW Women’s World Championship #1 Contender’s match: Ruby Soho VS Hikaru Shida!

While the Outcasts stand at two members, Saraya is looking forward to a friendly showdown with the Runaway in a little under two weeks! But will Ruby make sure there is No Future for the Shining Samurai? Or will Shida take down one Outcast to go after another?

The bell rings and the two circle. Fans fire up as Ruby and Shida step up, and they’re on Shida’s side. Ruby shoves, runs, and RAMS Shida, but Shida just fires up! Ruby headlocks, Shida throws body shots, and then she powers out. Shida then runs past Ruby to run Ruby over! Fans duel, Shida has the majority, and she goes to the corner. Shida climbs up but Ruby slips away before any fists can rain down! Shida is annoyed but she waits on Ruby to return. Ruby takes her time going to the apron, steps in at 6 of 10 but wants Shida to stay back. Shida gets annoyed as the ref keeps her back, but then Ruby pulls Shida’s hair to throw her down!

Ruby throws hands, puts Shida in the corner, then RAMS into her again and again! Fans boo but Ruby runs, only to miss! Shida ROCKS Ruby, then climbs up to rain down fists! Ruby gets away before three, runs back in but into a BOOT! Shida bumps Ruby off buckles, climbs up and rains down those fists! Ruby slips out at five to YANK Shida down! Ruby whips, Shida goes up and CROSSBODIES! Shida then drags Ruby up, puts her in yet another corner, and tries one more time! Shida rains down fists, and goes all the way to TEN! Fans fire up with Shida and she kicks Ruby out, to then MISSILE DROPKICK!

Fans fire up as Shida drags Ruby up, and Rampage goes picture in picture.

Ruby CLUBS away on Shida to stop the lift, then shoves her to a corner. Ruby runs in, Shida dodges, but Ruby ELBOWS her! Ruby goes up to hit DEADLY NIGHTSHADE! Ruby digs Shida into the buckles, lets off as the ref counts, and then brings Shida up to snapmare. Ruby covers, TWO! Ruby throws down fists now, but lets off with a smug smirk. Ruby puts Shida on ropes to CHOKE! The ref counts, Ruby lets off, and then Ruby has Shida in the ropes to throw knees! A shoutout to Saraya, and Ruby lets off at 4. Ruby stalks Shida, looms over her, and pushes her around. Shida pushes back but Ruby eggs her on.

Shida ROCKS Ruby, then fires again! Ruby claws Shida’s face! And throws her down by her hair again! The ref reprimands, but Ruby clamps on a straitjacket stretch! Shida endures, but Ruby grinds her into the mat! Fans rally, Shida fights up, and she arm-drags free! Ruby returns to CLOBBER Shida! Cover, TWO! Ruby is annoyed but Shida grabs at Ruby’s hair! Ruby CLUBS Shida, drags her up, and stomps a hand! Shida scrambles to a corner while the ref reprimands but Ruby stomps a mudhole in. Ruby lets off as the ref counts, and Ruby storms around. Shida drags herself up, but Ruby CHOKES her on the ropes!

The ref counts while Ruby BITES Shida’s ear! Ruby lets off at 4, drags Shida up, but Shida ROCKS her! And again! And again! And again! But Ruby knees low! Ruby talks trash, whips Shida to ropes, but Shida ducks ‘n’ dodges, and DOUBLE LARIATS knock both women down! Rampage returns to single picture as the standing count climbs. Fans rally, both women are down at 5 of 10 but Shida goes to ropes. Shida snarls, she and Ruby stand at 7, and they storm up. Shida fires a forearm, Ruby gives it back! Shida throws another, so Ruby gives it back! They go back and forth, harder and harder, faster and faster!

Ruby gets the edge, but Shida ROCKS her! And ROCKS her! And ROCKS her again! Shida whips to JUMP KNEE! Shida then suplexes high and hard! Cover, TWO! Shida fires up again and the fans are with her! Shida aims, KATA- NO, Ruby ducks and bails out! Fans boo but Shida goes out to pursue! Shida runs in, jumps off the steps, and DROPKICKS Ruby down! Fans fire up again and Shida stands Ruby up. Shida torture racks Ruby, then goes to the ramp!? Fans are thunderous but Ruby fights free! They throw forearms, and CHOPS! Shida CLUBS Ruby, Ruby throws body shots, but the count is climbing!

They both hear it’s 8 of 10 and start sprinting! They both slide in at 9.5!! Fans are thunderous and then Ruby swings, but Shida blocks! Ruby HEADBUTTS, blocks a kick, then KICKS back! SAIDO! Cover, TWO! Shida survives and Ruby grows frustrated. Ruby goes to a corner, and she takes Shida’s kendo stick for her own! The ref stops Ruby, takes the kendo stick, but then Ruby brings out the spray paint! Shida and the ref both block that and they’re all fighting over it! Down goes the ref!! Shida and Ruby are both stunned, but then Ruby HEADBUTTS! DESTINATION UNKNOWN! But no ref to count the cover!

Ruby is furious, she would’ve had this! But then she sees the kendo stick! Ruby grins as she wields Shida’s weapon! Fans boo, but Shida blocks the strike to kick and HEADSHOT! Then KATANA KICK!! Cover, but still no ref! Wait, here comes Aubrey! Aubrey slides in, counts the cover, TWO!! Ruby survives but Shida fires up! Shida puts Ruby in a drop zone, goes up the corner, and she METE- NO! Ruby dodges to then STO! Ruby drags herself up the corner, goes to the very top, and STAGE DIVE SENTONS onto knees! And then FALCON ARROW! Cover, TWO!! Ruby survives but Shida won’t stop there!

Shida hauls Ruby up but Ruby wrenches to NO FUTURE KICK! But Shida rebounds to KATANA!! Cover, Shida wins!!

Winner: Hikaru Shida, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the AEW Women’s World Champion)

The Shining Samurai takes down The Runaway, but wait! Here comes Saraya! #TitleTuesday is coming, will that be a good Knight for the champ? Or will Shida take this belt back to become a historic THREE-TIME champion?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage, especially as the go-home to WrestleDream. I figured the title matches would end with the champions retaining, but we got really good stuff out of Acclaimed VS Hardy Party and Eddie VS Rocky. As for their title defenses on WrestleDream, I don’t see TMDK taking the trios titles as this will be their AEW debuts. And as I’ve said a few times already, Eddie isn’t losing both belts he worked so hard to have so soon. Plus, it feels like there’s some tension between NJPW the company and Shibata, or else Shibata would already be NJPW Strong Openweight Champion and not one of ROH’s champs.

Speaking of Eddie, good promo from him before his match with Rocky, and good interaction with Team Triple J. I wasn’t exactly expecting Jay Lethal to be Eddie’s first actual feud for the ROH World Championship, but I suppose it does make sense as Lethal was a major player in ROH. I hope these guys actually show up on ROH programming, but also, Tony Khan wants this feud to be seen so it’ll end up on AEW programming instead. Y’know, just like all these other ROH title stories outside of the AEW Women’s title.

Good squash from The Righteous, and I’m really curious as to how the tag title match goes on Sunday. There’s a lot of stuff MJF still has to do with Cole, Roddy and The Kingdom, and now this intrigue with Jay White, Bullet Club Gold and the backstage attack at the end of Dynamite. I still feel it should’ve been The Kingdom in the PPV match anyway, but it seems they were going to drag this story out even before Cole hurt his foot. Good promo from Nick Wayne to call out Luchasaurus, but I feel like Luchasaurus ends up winning that match just to make a point of Nick not being able to show up ringside for Darby.

Good promo from Andrade to call out Juice for this week’s Collision, and I’m still wondering if/when La Faccion Ingobernable helps Andrade against Bullet Club Gold. For that matter, why can’t MJF be paying LFI to beat up on White and the BCG? He’s had business dealings with Andrade & Rush before, let’s strike that up again for some continuity. Really good promo from Aussie Open ahead of their tag title match, and from ZSJ to call out Bryan. That 8 Man Tag tomorrow night is going to be good stuff, and perhaps rather telling about where the PPV matches go. The only reason I don’t see Aussie Open winning against FTR is because of that big Fatal 4 Way tag contenders match, but who knows, maybe Aussie Open wins to bring the AEW belts to NJPW events as they take on like Goto & Hashi.

And of course, a great main event from Shida and Ruby. Seems a little silly to set up Ruby as a contender, wouldn’t that just end up in a Finger Poke of Doom situation with Saraya? Which therefore meant Shida was winning. Saraya VS Shida for this Title Tuesday Dynamite is going to be good stuff, but something makes me feel like Ruby is just gonna help Saraya retain. And not to be mean to Shida, but if she’s already a two-time champ, I don’t see her becoming three-time so soon. Why not get Shida in on the TBS Championship story? Britt Baker wants to be the first to have held both titles in AEW, but Shida should want that distinction, too. Then that lets us have Britt VS Shida as we should’ve gotten by now given everything else we’ve been seeing lately.

My Score: 8.7/10

The Blackpool Combat Club speaks.

The Bastard says, “War is upon us. It’s time to choose sides. But you see, we know you. We know you’re not like the rest of them: A zoo creature, somebody bought to be paraded around. No, you’re more than that. You’re not a fluffy, cute animal, a creature, no. You’re a lion. So stop acting like you haven’t already chosen.” The Swiss Superman says, “I’m still the same guy. So is Mox. I guess I don’t understand what the problem is. If you wanna talk to me, you know where to find me. This is your home. We still have big plans for you, Wheeler.” The Problem steps up and speaks in Moldovan, but it’s clearly her telling Wheeler to figure it out.

The Maniac finally turns around to say, “I prayed every night you wouldn’t win the AEW World Championship, Bryan, but you did. So here we are. I’m gonna have that belt one way or another. There will be casualties. You’re gonna get a gift. A gift from the universe, a gift from me, not a lot of people get. I’m giving you the opportunity to go out on your shield, to die a warrior’s death, on your home soil. You will be buried in your backyard, peacefully, beautifully. Fate’s not gonna put a better offer on the table than that, man. On October 12th, when I officially relieve you of duty, I’m sending Daddy home for good.”

The BCC has issued their ultimatums to The Decoder and the American Dragon, will either of them heed the warning?

AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay VS Ricochet!

It has been a long time since The Aerial Assassin and The One & Only have faced off in the ring. Both men have held gold all around the world, but that’s not even what this battle is about. Ricochet wants to show us what he can really do, and Ospreay hopes he remembers how. Who will stand tall as AEW continues into a new chapter?

But as Ospreay prepares backstage with Kyle Fletcher’s help, Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita step in. Callis says they need to talk about last week, but he wishes Ospreay the best of luck. Callis says the Family has to get going, they have a flight to catch. Ospreay is now without his good friend, but will this be more about his mental state? Ospreay makes his entrance and the introductions are made. The belt is raised, and we see if this anniversary show will be #OuttaThisWorld!

The bell rings and the fans are losing their minds already. Ricochet and Ospreay tie up, go around, and Ospreay puts Ricochet on ropes. Pittsburgh already declares, “This is Awesome!” as the two let off slowly. Ospreay takes a swing, but Ricochet dodges to hit a headlock takeover. Ospreay headscissors, Ricochet kips free, and roles reverse as Ospreay hits a takeover and then Ricochet headscissors. Mercedes Mone speaks.

The AEW TBS & NJPW Strong Women’s Champion is with her Brickhouse, Kamille, as well as Renee Paquette. Renee holds the mic so Mone can hold both her titles while saying, “Pittsbuuuuuuurgh~! Please say hello to your C E O.” Renee says tonight, we celebrate five years- Yes, and what a beautiful five years! Mone is so blessed to have played even just a small part of AEW Dynamite history. That is why she has put together a very special video package of Dynamite’s best moments. “Hit it, Money Mike.”

The video is played up, and if you can’t guess, it is all Mone’s moments in AEW. Her debut at Big Business in Boston, her winning the TBS Championship, and just winning in general. Mone smiles and asks if that was an amazing video. AEW’s best moments are all about her, because AEW is where the money resides, and AEW’s future is so bright, because Mone Changes Everything. And MVP steps in to say yes it does! He loves Big Business. Please, take his card, maybe they can talk. MVP heads out, will The CEO consider his offer?

Backstage interview with Austin & Colten Gunn.

Renee is now with The Gunns and brings up Juice Robinson facing Hangman Page 1v1 tonight. It was just last week, Grand Slam Collision, that Hangman tried to literally hang Juice. What can we expect tonight? Austin says Renee, and better yet, Pittsburgh, tonight, the Juice is loose! And- HANGMAN CLOBBERS AUSTIN FROM BEHIND! And then he brawls with Colten! Hangman sends Colten through a door, and then storms off. The Black Hat has left the Collision Cowboys writhing, will he cross off Juice later tonight?

“Big Bill” Morrissey is in the ring.

The Redwood has a mic to say, “Ladies and gentlemen, five years of AEW Dynamite!” The fans cheer that, but Bill wants us to remember. “As The Learning Tree always says, it is not about the destination, it is about who we become as people along the way.” Uh, sure… Bill says we can all agree that over the past 1,825 days, we have all become better people, all thanks to one man: The Learning Tree, Chris Jericho! The fans boo as Jericho makes his entrance, “The Bad Apple” Bryan Keith right behind him. They go to the ring, Jericho waves and says, “Hi, guys~! Congratulations on five years of Dynamite.

“And congratulations to the brand new television deal that AEW just signed. We made a lot of experts look like real idiots, hahahaha.” The fans cheer that at least. But there wouldn’t even be a new TV deal, or an AEW, if not for Chris Jericho, so you can thank him for that. The fans boo again but Keith wants a “Thank You, Chris!” chant. Say it, dammit! The fans do chant, “Thank You, Chris! Thank You, Chris!” Jericho thanks them, and says not only is this the fifth anniversary of Dynamite, but it’s the 34th anniversary of Chris Jericho’s pro-wrestling debut! To think he’s gone from Alberta, Canada to right here in Philade- Oops.

Jericho corrects himself, it’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. But to also be an eight-time world champion is an unbelievable feeling. Right now, at Jericho’s stage in his career, he wasn’t quite as focused on winning titles as he is on nurturing The Branches, such as The Redwood and Bad Apple, and bringing as many young talents into the Jericho Vortex as possible, and of course getting as much TV time as he can. But over the past few weeks, Jericho had an epiphany. First, he headlined a sold out Arena Mexico, then he beat Mark Briscoe. So now, it is time Jericho brings a new Era of Jericho. No more Ocho, time for the Nueve!

So Mark Briscoe, Jericho is challenging you for the ROH World Championship, at WRESTLEDREAM! The fans are torn on that idea but Jericho asks if Mark accepts. Does he? Mark Briscoe makes his entrance! Flanked by The Conglomeration, The Sussex County Chicken makes his way down to the ring. Mark steps into the ring, grabs himself a mic, and he tells his boys to stand down, this is between him and Jericho. Jericho has his guys do the same, so it is just them in the ring. Mark tells Jericho that Papa Briscoe brought his sons up to behave like men. And to be a man is to not make excuses.

Mark could stand here and make excuses about how he had Jericho beat in New York City. Jericho was toast! He was fried chicken! The only way Jericho won on the ROH World Champion is because Big Bill snuck up on Mark, guzel’d him around the throat, and choke slammed him through a table so Jericho could roll his limp ass onto Mark. The fans cheer that! Mark says he could say that, but he won’t use the excuse because it was Tornado Tag rules. The choke slam was as legal as a wristlock. Jericho pinned Mark in New York, 1-2-3, in the middle of that ring. And y’know what else? Behaving like a man entails that you call it like it is. Call a spade a spade.

And here we are on Jericho’s 34th anniversary, so Mark will call Jericho what he is: Chris BAH GAWD Jericho has, over the past four decades, been one of the most influential and finest pro-wrestlers on the planet. Fans do cheer that. And Mark will tell you, that works out good for him that Jericho pinned him. Logically speaking, Jericho should get the title match. Because Mark would love to put that notch in his belt, if you know what he means! See, it is also very coincidental that the word of the day is, “consequential.” Because consequentially speaking, now Mark will get to put a legendary head on his wall! Because when Mark beats Jericho at WrestleDream-

Whoa, whoa, hold on. That is a tall task. Mark wants to beat the Learning Tree? He wants to beat the legendary Chris Jericho? He doesn’t think Mark can. Mark can’t beat Jericho! Maybe Jay could have. The fans don’t like Jericho going there. “But everybody knows… You’ll never be as good as Jay was.” The fans boo more, and Mark UPPERCUTS Jericho! The fans fire up now, but Jericho has Bill & Keith stay back. Mark tells Jericho if he wants to go there, he better get his brother’s name out of his mouth. At WrestleDream, Jericho gets a Briscoe style ass whooping! Mark accepts the challenge, and THAT is consequential!

The fans fire up as in just 10 days, we see Mark Briscoe VS Chris Jericho 1v1! Will The Sussex County Chicken not just cut down The Learning Tree, but burn it to ashes?

BREAKING NEWS for Rampage!

With Briscoe VS Jericho set, there will also be further redemption for The Conglomeration after last week’s Collision. Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly take on Big Bill & Bryan Keith 2v2! Will Freshly Squeezed & The Violent Artist cut down The Branches before worrying about The Learning Tree?

Darby Allin speaks.

The Relentless One sits among junked cars, and he says, “I was 19 years old, I used to ride this metro bus, The 150, from Kent Station to Seattle. I used to ride it all the time, just daydreaming. This one night, I was in the back of the bus, and I felt something hit my head. And I turned around and I saw these three guys laughing at me. And it just donned on me that they were taking turns spitting at me. And I turned around and I just tried to mind my own business. There was three of them and one of me. And it was killing me inside that I wasn’t doing anything about it. And then I felt it again.

“And finally, I just turned around, and I got right up in the guy’s face, and he said, ‘What’re you gonna do about it, ya little b*tch?’ And I noticed he was holding up this switchblade. And I looked at him and I said, ‘Well, it looks like I’m getting stabbed tonight.’ I lunged toward him, and it didn’t take long for everybody on the bus to break up the fight. But it felt so good. It felt so good to actually do something about it. Weeks ago, when Jon Moxley said I wasn’t ready to be the face of AEW, all I could see is those three guys in the back of the bus. I wasn’t just gonna lay down and do nothing. I would rather get stabbed.

“You live by the sword, you die by the sword. I put everything on the line against Moxley, I was so fixated on proving him wrong. That night, it was supposed to be me and Bryan going on to WrestleDream. I keep saying that I’m ready to be the face of company, and I think people are starting to lose faith in me. The scary part about it is, I’m starting to lose faith in myself. But what else am I supposed to do? What else can I do except fight? I am going to be at Tacoma Dome, October 12th, at WrestleDream. Anybody in the AEW locker room, I’m putting out an Open Challenge. Anybody wants to build their name off of Darby Allin, step right up.”

Darby smashes a brick against a car, and he shouts he has nothing left to lose! October 12th, WrestleDream, Open Challenge. Step up. Darby is feeling desperate, but will that desperation be what he needs to reach that next level?

AEW shares news about Taz.

Earlier today, as the former Suplex Machine made his arrival, he was assaulted by unknown assailants in the parking lot. Taz was checked out by medics, referred back to his physician in New York, so he is returning home at this time. AEW wishes Taz a speedy recovery, and hopes to find out who attacked him and why.

Then Juice borrows a fan’s popcorn to CLOBBER Hangman with it! The fans fire up as things return to ground level, and Hangman goes to ringside. Juice is munching some popcorn now, and then puts Hangman in the ring. The bell finally sounds to make this a match, and Juice takes off his own belt! He says time to hang the Hangman! Juice CHOKES Hangman with the belt, the ref counts, and Juice stops at 4. Hangman gets the belt away, and then he kicks low!

Hangman bumps Juice off buckles, stomps a mudhole, but the ref counts. Hangman lets off, soaks up the cheers and jeers, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

PROGRAMMING NOTE for Dynamite!

Next week will be a very special Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite! Tuesday night will be golden starting 9 PM Eastern, so make sure your DVRs catch it!

Renee Paquette is in the parking lot.

Renee says we continue to celebrate the five year anniversary of Dynamite, and she is waiting on an AEW original, Jack Perry. The Scapegoat bus pulls up, and he steps out. But then Katsuyori Shibata steps in! And with text to voice, Shibata “says,” “You and me, the TNT Championship, WrestleDream.” Perry says he’ll think about it. The Scapegoat leaves, but then he sucker punches Shibata! Then he CLUBS Shibata, RAMS him into the front of the bus, and says, “I accept!” The Scapegoat punks out The Wrestler, but will he come to regret that?

Bryan Danielson speaks.

“All day long, I’ve had one sentence running through my head: F Jon Moxley. But then I realized, Mox, that no matter how bad you want it to be, this isn’t about you. This isn’t your world championship. Hell, this isn’t even MY world championship! This is AEW’s World Championship! FIVE YEARS! FIVE YEARS! And we’ve broken the entire system that wrestling was built on! This is where the best wrestle! And that is why I challenged Okada. Okada, me and you have wrestled twice. You’ve won one and I won one. You’ve broken my arm and fractured my orbital bone, but you have never broken my spirit.

“Tonight, we find out who’s the best! Your title’s only on the line for the first 20 minutes, but every single minute of this match, my title’s on the line, and my career’s on the line! And I wouldn’t want it any other way. AEW, this is for you.” The American Dragon is all fired up, but will he be able to set fire to the Rainmaker?

Britt crawls her way to Serena, covers, TWO! Ghost pin, TWO! Britt drags Serena into RINGS OF SATURN! But Serena slips free to get the leg! Britt fights the turnover to kick and kick and kick! Britt BOOTS Serena away, then runs up. Britt blocks a boot but Serena uses the British Reel to then KICK Britt! Serena goes out, ROCKS Britt, and climbs the corner! But Britt SLAPS Serena! Britt climbs, gets under Serena, and SUPER AIR RAID CRASH!! Cover, TWO?!?

The fans can’t believe it and neither can Britt! Britt drags Serena by an arm but Serena rolls her up! TWO, and into the RINGS OF SATURN! Serena fights, but LOCKJAW locks in! Serena TAPS, Britt wins!!

Winner: Britt Baker, by submission

Steel City celebrates with Britt, and Mariah is maybe impressed. But then Serena CLOBBERS Britt! The Professor is a sore loser! Now this Mariah likes as Serena pulls that leg! Britt taps but here comes QUEEN AMINATA! She TACKLES Serena and rains down fists! The fans fire up as those two scrap now! Aminata runs Deeb off, then makes sure Britt is alright. Will The One True African Woman make sure Deeb’s Dojo is humbled? As for Mariah, she’s laughing at this, but what will happen should Britt earn her way to a championship opportunity?

Backstage interview with Hook.

Renee is with the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil and asks him about the attack on his dad, Taz. Hook is fuming, and he punches a wall. He says if someone starts s*it with his family, he will find them and take ’em out! Who would be foolish enough to #SendHook into a rage?

Christian Cage speaks.

“Pittsburgh, sit down and shut your mouths while I conduct my business. And the business at hand is the five year anniversary of Dynamite. And if all of you were in awe of everything I’ve accomplished in the first five years, you haven’t seen anything yet. Because I am the Face of TBS now and forever. I am the reigning, defending, undisputed next AEW World Champion. I am the Patriarch, I am your Father Figure. And soon enough, I will have it all, hook, line and sinker.” Captain Charisma has spoken, but will he look to strike during tonight’s main event? Or will he wait to ruin everyone’s WrestleDream?

Backstage interview with Mariah May.

Renee is now with The Glamour, and says it was quite the “tumultuous” Grand Slam last week for her. Mariah successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Yuka Sakazaki, only to have Willow Nightingale to come to Yuka’s defense after. And then, the return of Mina Shirakawa was short as she then returned to Japan to team with Toni- Mariah says Willow is the living definition of “Failing up.” How many titles does Willow get to lose? Willow lost the TBS Championship, gets into the Owen Hart Cup. Willow loses the tournament to Mariah, so she gets the CMLL Women’s title.

Willow then loses the CMLL Women’s title, and now she’s best friends with Yuka and just syphons herself a world title shot? Wow! Masterful plan, Willow! That’s shady. Just look at her, smiling all the time, trying to hide how pathetic she really is! But speaking of Willow, she storms in, confronting Mariah on all that trash. Mariah’s the shady b*tch here! These two start arguing, and Mariah says shut up! Mariah SLAPS Willow! Willow SLAPS back! Security rushes in, as does Christopher Daniels, and these two are separated. The Fallen Angel has Mariah taken away and tells Willow to calm down. But will the Babe with the Power take out The Glamour the first chance she gets?

Private Party VS The Iron Savages w/ Jacked Jameson!

While Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy could not win the AEW World Trios Championships with the help of their amigo, Komander, they’re not going to give up now. A new theme song for a new attitude, will the party start to turn up? Or will they be forced to sip sauce and live hoss with Bulky Bronson & Beefcake Boulder?

The teams sort out, and Zay runs up on Bronson to fire hands! The fans rally, Bronson shoves Zay, but Zay bobs ‘n’ weaves. Zay BOOTS Bronson, DROPKICKS him, and Bronson staggers. Quen joins in to DOUBLE DROPKICK! Bronson falls, but Boulder runs in! Private Party dodges to DOUBLE DROPKICK! Boulder stays up and goes wild! Boulder runs up but Private Party DUMPS him out! Boulder staggers, Quen FLIES! Down goes Boulder at the ramp! Stokely Hathaway is watching this and seems to like what he sees. Bronson reels Zay in, back suplexes, but Zay lands out! Zay ducks ‘n’ dodges, DROPKICKS, and Bronson goes to a corner.

Zay kips up, fires up, and the fans are with him! Zay tags Quen, and then Zay runs up. Bronson BOOTS Zay, then goes up the corner, but Quen runs up! GIN & JUICE!! A supersized serving, Quen covers, Private Party wins!

Winners: Private Party, by pinfall

From the upset win on the very first AEW Dynamite to this shockingly fast win here tonight, Private Party’s new attitude is paying off! Zay gets a mic to get something off his chest. What’s up, Pittsburgh? But at the beginning of this year, these two walked in and said “New Year, New Champs,” and Zay swears to God, they meant every word! He doesn’t care if his hand’s bashed or if his shoulder’s messed up. Quen doesn’t care if his shoulder is just back from injury, Private Party WILL BE AEW World Tag Team Champions! Zay hopes The Young Bucks are listening. Private Party beat them once, and they promise they can do it again!

In fact, Zay is feeling froggy. Is Quen feeling froggy? Quen says yeah, he’s feeling it! They’re ready to jump! Young Bucks, FOOLS, why not do this right here and now?! The fans fire up, and here come the EVPs! Matthew & Nicholas Jackson appear from center stage, and Nick says, “Listen. You can’t have an anniversary show without the two people who built this damn company, your EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson!” Matt takes the mic to tell Private Party that they seem super confident. Matt has an idea. He heard there is a substantial overrun planned for tonight, so they have time for this particular idea.

How about The Bucks test that confidence? Why not put the tag titles on the line against Private Party, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, IN PITTSBURGH!? The fans love that idea! The Bucks head down the ramp, and Matt wants to make sure there’s still a ref. Oh, wait, no, The Bucks have “limited dates,” so they’re not wasting one on a crap town like Pittsburgh. The fans boo as The Bucks go back up the ramp. The Bucks “thank” everyone, but then Jack Perry attacks Private Party! The fans boo, but n ow it turns into a 3v2 as The Bucks DO get in the ring! But wait! Here comes Shibata! The Wrestler isn’t done with Perry!

The fans fire up as Shibata storms into the ring, but The Elite goes running! Shibata dares Perry to get in, but here comes Christopher Daniels! He says hey, Private Party has been a thorn in the sides of The Bucks since the very beginning of Dynamite, and Daniels for one would love to see Private Party piss The Bucks off. So here’s an idea! SIX MAN TAG: Private Party & Shibata VS The Elite, Friday Night Rampage here in Pittsburgh!! The Elite is pissed, but Daniels’ Interim EVP powers force their hand! Will Shibata be partying with Quen & Zay after they take it to The Elite?

Backstage interview with MVP.

Renee is with Montel Vontavius Porter, officially welcomes him to AEW, and understands he has a big announcement. MVP says yes, he does have an announcement, and what better occasion than the five-year anniversary of Dynamite. He’d like to take this moment to introduce to all of us- Wait, Prince Nana steps in. And he says last week, MVP was talking real spicy about him and Swerve. And another thing! Nana sees a lot of people are walking around here forgetting something. They’re forgetting that Nana used to be a wrestler himself! And yeah, he’ll lace up his boots right here in Pittsburgh just for MVP!

MVP says that sounds like a complaint. MVP doesn’t deal with complaints. But uh, he does. Who? SHELTON BENJAMIN!? MVP formally introduces AEW to his business partner, and the President of the Complaints Department, Mr. Shelton Benjamin. Nana is stunned, and Shelton says nice to meet you. He then takes Nana’s mug and drinks the coffee. Shelton says that’s pretty good. Nana is beside himself, but is he about to step into the ring with the Gold Standard?

AEW World VS AEW Continental Championships: Bryan Danielson VS Kazuchika Okada!

The American Dragon said it himself that he and The Rainmaker are 1-1, and why not make the tiebreaker part of the Dynamite anniversary? But as Bryan also said, this is only a double title match for the first 20 minutes. Can Bryan end this quickly to then bring two titles to Tacoma? Or will Okada wait out that first period to then strike and completely change AEW WrestleDream?

The introductions are made, both belts are raised, and we see who stands tall to end this historic night!

The bell rings and we’re on the clock. The fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” with literally just one guy going “NO! NO! NO!” Okada and Bryan stare down, then slowly approach. The fans fire up more, and then they back up. The fans get even more fired up, and the two circle. They feel things out, tie up, and Okada powers Bryan back a step. Bryan pushes Okada back, the fans duel, and the two go back and forth. Okada powers Bryan to a corner, the ref counts, and Okada lets off slowly. Bryan turns things around, the ref reprimands and counts, and Bryan lets off cleanly. The fans cheer and the two reset.

Bryan and Okada circle again, feel out a knuckle lock, and they tie up. They go shoulder to shoulder, push each other in a “Test of Wills” as Bryan would put it, and Okada slips around to waistlock. Bryan wrenches out, wristlocks, but Okada rolls, trips Bryan, and has a toehold. Bryan goes for the ARMBAR, but Okada blocks. Bryan shifts to a short arm scissor, but Okada fights up. Bryan wrenches, whips, but Okada reverses. Bryan holds ropes to avoid the dropkick, but Okada avoids the buzzsaw! Okada ripcords but Bryan ducks the lariat! Bryan comes back, to arm-drag! But Okada headscissors! Bryan kips free, but now Okada hits a headlock takeover.

Bryan headscissors, Okada kips free, and it’s a standoff! The fans fire up again, but as Bryan steps forward, Okada backs up into ropes. The ref has Bryan stay back, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Bryan waits on Okada, and Okada takes his time leaving the ropes. Okada dares Bryan to try something, but then he backs off to ropes again. The ref reprimands Okada for stalling but Okada says okay, hold on. Okada steps back in, circles with Bryan, only for Okada to again back away to ropes. Bryan is annoyed, but he calls Okada out. Okada steps back in, circles with Bryan, and they tie up. Bryan headlocks, shifts around, hammerlocks, then headlocks. Okada hammerlocks but Bryan drop toeholds. Bryan waistlocks but Okada goes to the ROPEBREAK! Bryan lets off and Okada bails out. Okada claims hair pulling as he paces outside.

Bryan waits, and Okada steps to the apron. But Okada stays back as Bryan steps forward. Bryan does jumping jacks to taunt Okada. Okada steps in, they circle again, and knuckle lock. Okada rolls to wrench and wrangle Bryan, but Bryan slips around to wrench back. Bryan has the arm for an ELBOW BREAKER! Bryan keeps the wristlock but Okada snapmares. Bryan rolls through to hammerlock Okada on the mat. Okada sits up and shifts around, but Bryan wrenches for another ELBOW BREAKER! Bryan wristlocks, but Okada CLUBS, snapmares, and chinlocks. But Bryan slips out to have the hammerlock back, and Dynamite goes to break.

Dynamite returns and the fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” as Bryan waits on Okada. Okada and Bryan circle, feel things out, and they knuckle lock. Okada powers Bryan to the corner, lets off slowly, and then fakes the chop to pat Bryan. Bur then he ROCKS Bryan with sucker punch after sucker punch! The fans boo, the ref counts, and Okada lets off. Okada storms back up, but Bryan puts him on the apron! Bryan HAMMERS away with forearms! The ref counts, Bryan lets off, but Okada slips down. So Bryan WRECKS Okada with a dropkick! Bryan keeps moving, but Okada’s back! FLAPJACK! Okada grins while Bryan writhes.

Okada storms up on Bryan, drags him up, and turns him, for a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Okada stays cool, the tape on Bryan’s neck and shoulders the clear target. Okada drags Bryan up, bumps him off buckles, and then stands him back up. Okada ELBOWS Bryan, ELBOWS him again, and then whips corner to corner. Okada runs up to ELBOW Bryan down! The fans are torn while Bryan clutches his neck. Okada taunts the fans, mocks the “YES!” chant, and then storms up on Bryan. Okada drags Bryan up, ROCKS him, and CLUBS him. Bryan UPPERCUTS, and UPPERCUTS, and then runs, but Okada scoops!

Bryan kicks and slips tot he apron! Bryan HEADBUTTS Okada again and again, then bumps him off buckles. Bryan climbs, but Okada hurries to CLUB him! Okada goes up, CLUBS away on Bryan, but Bryan fires body shots! Bryan HEADBUTTS Okada down and the fans fire up! Bryan rises, to DIVING HEADBUTT FLOP! Okada grins as he avoids disaster, and he drags Bryan up, into the MONEY CLIP! Okada leans on the hold but Bryan endures. The fans rally, Bryan fight sup, and he arm-drags free! Okada ducks ‘n’ dodges to kick low and DDT! Cover, TWO! The fans rally and Okada is annoyed, but he looms over Bryan.

Okada drags Bryan up, scoops him, but Bryan fights the scoop! Okada and Bryan fight for control, and Okada lifts Bryan! But Bryan fights with body shots! So Okada CLAWS Bryan’s face! The ref reprimands, Bryan goes to a corner, and Okada takes his time walking over. Okada brings Bryan around, whips him corner to corner, but Bryan reverses! Bryan runs up, but Okada dodges the elbow! Okada puts Bryan up top to DROPKICK him down! The fans fire up as Bryan tumbles to the floor! Okada goes out, grabs a chair, but just leaves it on the floor before he whips Bryan hard into railing! Okada then brings Bryan back around, to whip into more railing!

The fans rally, Okada refreshes the ring count, and Okada runs up to BOOT Bryan over railing! The fans fire up and duel as Bryan flounders. Okada drags Bryan up, but Bryan whips Okada hard into railing! Bryan refreshes the ring count, and he drags Okada up to whip into more railing! And then DROPKICKS him against them! Bryan hurries to put Okada in, then he climbs up! MISSILE DROPKICK! Okada tumbles all the way out of the ring! The fans fire up and Bryan builds speed, to DIVE! Direct hit at the ramp and down goes Okada! The fans fire up as Bryan huffs ‘n’ puffs and drags Okada back into the ring.

Bryan hurries up the corner again, and he BLINDSIDE MISSILE DROPKICKS! Bryan kips up, the fans fire up, but we’re at 15 minutes! Bryan KICKS Okada, KICKS again, and again! And again! And again! “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan winds up, but Okada ducks the buzzsaw to roll Bryan, TWO! Bryan has the arm! Omoplata, LEBELL- NO, Okada tilts to a cover, TWO! Bryan has a cradle, TWO! Bryan UPPERCUTS Okada, but Okada UPPERCUTS back! The UPPERCUTS go back and forth, and the two stare down. The fans fire up more, and Bryan fires SLAP after SLAP! Okada fires those palm strikes back!

The fans fire up as the SLAPS keep going! Bryan whips, Okada reverses, but Bryan goes up and up and over! Bryan keeps moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Okada’s DROPKICK hits first! The fans fire up again, and Okada brings Bryan up! Scoop and SLAM into a drop zone! Okada climbs, standard formula says MACHO ELBOW! Okada then winds up, for the MIDDLE FINGER! Okada grins, drags Bryan up, and ripcords for the RAIN- NO, ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! TRIANGLE HOLD! Okada fights around, Bryan fires in elbows! “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan shifts Okada around into the LEBELL LOCK!! Okada endures, fights, and we’re at the 19 minute mark!

Okada flails, reaches out, he just has to last 60 seconds to keep his title! But Bryan shifts, he steps over, JIM BREAKS SPECIAL!! A shoutout to Zack Sabre Jr! Okada flails, kicks, ROPEBREAK!! Bryan lets go, but he aims, BUSAIKU KNEE!! But Okada flops out of the ring!! The 20 minute mark is passed, Okada’s title is safe!

20 minutes elapsed, Okada retains the AEW Continental Championship

The fans boo but only Okada’s title is safe. Bryan sees Okada slide into the ring, but then Okada bails out! Bryan just SPRINGBOARD CANNONBALLS out onto Okada! Bryan wants to beat Okada, so he whips Okada into railing! And runs up, but into a scoop! TOMBSTONE onto the chair!! Okada played the long game on that one, and the ref reprimands while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Bryan, and Okada grins as he leaves Bryan behind. Okada refreshes the count, drags Bryan back up and into the ring, then brings him out along the apron! DRAPING DDT to the floor! The ref reprimands but Okada mocks the “YES! YES! YES!” Okada tells the ref to leave Bryan alone and start the count. Okada grins as the count does start, but Bryan already stirs at 3 of 10. Bryan drags himself up while the fans rally behind him, only for Bryan to flop over at 7! Bryan springs up at 9 and rolls in at 9.5! But Okada is on him with an Alabama Lift! REVERSE NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Bryan survives and Okada is frustrated!

Okada looms over Bryan, and gives him a mocking kick. And another. And another! Bryan huffs ‘n’ puffs as Okada kicks him around. Bryan rises to fire a forearm, but there wasn’t much behind it. Okada stands Bryan up to DECK him! Okada puts Bryan in a corner, puts him up top, and ROCKS him again! Okada climbs, brings Bryan up, and goes to the very top! But Bryan slips under to trip Okada up! Bryan then climbs up behind Okada, brings him to the top, and hits a SUPER BACK SUPLEX!! Dynamite returns to single picture right as they crash land! The fans are thunderous while both men are down!

The ref starts a standing count, “This is Awesome!” as both men stir. Bryan and Okada go to opposite corners, and then Okada runs in. Bryan dodges to then CHOP! And KICK! And CHOP! And KICK! “WOO~! YES!” Bryan then CHOPS, CHOPS, CHOPS, and runs. Okada follows to ELBOW Bryan in the corner! Okada runs but Bryan follows, to DROPKICK! Bryan runs, comes back, but Okada scoops! Bryan slips free, waistlocks, but Okada fights the lift! Okada has the ropes, but Bryan KICKS the arm! Then GERMAN SUPLEX! Okada rises to SHOTGUN Bryan! Bryan is up, he feints a left buzzsaw to BUZZSAW with the right!

Okada sputters from the switch hit, and Bryan aims from a corner! BU- DROPKICK! Okada drags Bryan up, ripcords, but Bryan BOOTS Okada! And KICKS! And KICKS! “YES! YES! YES!” But Okada ROCKS Bryan! Bryan KICKS, Okada ROCKS, and both men wobbles. Bryan pushes Okada down, for DRAGON STOMPS! The fans fire up, “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan lets off and he goes to the corner to join in on “YES! YES! YES!” Okada sputters, rises, and Bryan BUSAIKU- NO, Okada gets around! Ripcord, RAINMAKER!!! But Okada falls away from Bryan, he can’t make the cover!! A standing count starts and the fans rally up.

Bryan stirs at 4 of 10, as does Okada. Okada grabs at ropes but sits up on his own at 6. Bryan and Okada crawl to each other at 7, so the count stops. The fans fire up as these two are forehead to forehead, and then Okada fires the first forearm! Bryan hits back! Okada hits again! Bryan hits again! They keep going back and forth, “YES! NO! YES! Bryan drags Okada around, hooks him up, and rains down HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Okada shakes his head?! Bryan just HAMMERS him more, but Okada blocks one! Okada fights to fireman’s carry, and LANDSLIDE!! But Okada won’t end it there!?!

Okada drags Bryan up, and short arm LARIATS! Wait, the fans are noticing something. The BCC is creeping in from the crowd! Claudio on one side, and Okada short arm LARIATS Bryan again! Okada roars, but he sees Claudio, too. And then Pac is on the other side of the crowd! Okada drags Bryan up, ripcords again, but Bryan ducks! Backslide, BRYAN WINS!!!

Winner: Bryan Danielson, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

The fans are thunderous, but Claudio just smiles. But then Okada ripcords to RAINAMKER!! Okada is a sore loser, and he flips off Claudio, and he flips off Pac! He blames them for distracting him just enough, and now he storms off with his Continental Championship. But wait, Claudio & Pac slither into the ring! The Swiss Superman & The Bastard drag Bryan to his feet, because here comes Moxley! Bryan tries to fight free but Pac & Claudio hold on tight. Moxley has a mic to say, “You think this is about me? Huh? Is that what you said? You think any of this is about me?! Let’s get something through your simple minded, blueberry pickin’ little brain!

“NONE OF THIS is about me! NONE OF THIS is what I wanted. I’m fighting for something much bigger than myself. Everything I’m gonna do is cuz I have to, cuz no one else will, no one else can. If any of this was about me, I’d have put you outta your misery years ago!” Moxley drops the mic, paces around, but here comes Yuta! Yuta runs off the entire BCC, with a hammer in his hand! The fans are fired up for Yuta as he dares someone to step in! So Moxley steps back in! Moxley and Yuta stare down, but is Yuta gonna take a hammer to Moxley? Yuta paces, gets fired up again, and dares Moxley to swing on him first!

Moxley doesn’t, so Bryan CLOBBERS Moxley! Claudio goes after Yuta, grabs the hammer, and Marina Shafir gets Moxley outta there while Claudio and Pac brawl with Bryan and Yuta! Yuta & Bryan turn the tables, and Claudio bails! Pac follows kind, and the fans fire up again! Yuta grabs a mic to tell Claudio & Pac, “I am sick and tired of the two of you treating me like a child. I’m not a child, I am my own man! I can make my own decisions, and I can fight my own fights. And speaking of fights, next week, Title Tuesday, if the two of you wanna get to Bryan Danielson, you’re gonna have to go through me, too.”

The fans fire up as Yuta drops the mic, but Bryan picks it up. Bryan says next week, Title Tuesday, Bryan & Yuta VS Claudio & Pac, what does everyone say? The fans say “YES! YES! YES!” and Tony Khan sends word that YES, it will happen! Will Bryan stand tall just days before WrestleDream? Or will the faction he helped create be his undoing?

My Thoughts:

An awesome Dynamite for not just to commemorate five YEARS of AEW, but to also hype up WrestleDream more. Though, the direction of a few stories are a little odd to me. It’s mostly the Don Callis Family story, as I thought Konosuke Takeshita was heading for the Continental Championship. But after an awesome match of Ospreay VS Ricochet, where we got all the hits, Konosuke has to “ruin” it all by going after Ospreay. I suppose Ospreay VS Konosuke was an inevitable match so why not do it, and it could be what makes Kyle Fletcher choose between Ospreay and Callis. Hopefully, he chooses Ospreay, but I suppose that depends on who is even Don Callis Family. Maybe Hobbs returns?

Speaking of returns, Jay White’s return was of course happening here, what with Hangman beating up the Gunns and then beating Juice. Great brawl that went up into the crowd and great match, but Hangman of course cheats to win. Great return for Jay White, but uh, what was the point of Darby Allin mentioning a switchblade in his story and Nigel having a line about a knife fight? Something about that felt like Jay White foreshadowing for Darby VS White, but now I’m thinking it’s Hangman VS White, and Darby is open to face just about anyone for WrestleDream. Not sure who it’ll be, but I’m sure it’ll be someone great.

Great match from Britt VS Serena, great win for Britt to get back in action again, but it was curious that Mariah was out there at all. If that’s foreshadowing that Britt will get back to the world title, a bit heavy handed and early for it. Mariah still has Willow, which we got a great promo out of the two of them, and then there’s also Mina Shirakawa. I suppose Britt can be thrown in to further stretch out this story of Mariah and Mina, so that there is more and more evidence of Mariah going down a dark path and Mina unable to tolerate that. But honestly, with how badly AEW has paced women’s division stories before, I kinda want Mariah VS Mina to happen sooner rather than later.

Very good promo from Mone with MVP, it feels like the “Hurt Syndicate” is going to expand into more than just the men’s division, something WWE really should’ve tried with the Hurt Business. Maybe The Elite should think to counter offer so that Mone is their female member, and that could be a fun story. Shelton Benjamin debuting in AEW is great, but I also love that Nana brought up his wrestling career in WCW given a classic image of Prince Nana has been circulating online. Though, I don’t see Nana facing Shelton. But hey, Hurt Syndicate picking on Nana would definitely motivate Swerve to accelerate his return, and Swerve VS Shelton could make a great WrestleDream match.

The return of TV Time with Chris Jericho was good stuff, because for one, Jericho took a jab at Eric Bischoff over Bischoff claiming the coming AEW WBD TV deal was BS. But also, it wasn’t just Jericho rambling on, he got to business calling out Mark Briscoe, and Mark Briscoe responded. I did not think Jericho was gonna bring up Jay Briscoe like that, but that does immediately add heat to this. I really hope Briscoe whoops Jericho, we do not need “The Nueve” nor do we need the return of “Ring of Jericho.” Plus, something needs to happen where Big Bill screws up, Jericho gets pissed, there’s the falling out they teased weeks ago.

Very good promo from Christian Cage just to keep his cash-in on our minds. I feel like something has to again go screwy so that Christian can’t snipe the title from Bryan or Moxley, especially with this story with Kip Sabian still needing to be settled. And we’re getting quite a curious story for Hook. They have Taz get off-camera beat up, because trust me, that’s not a shoot, that’s kayfabe. They wouldn’t even have Hook on camera tonight if it was legit. But I feel like the culprit is either The Kingdom showing their true colors over that loss to Hook, or someone they want to move up into a bigger spotlight.

Good promo from Perry and Shibata to officially set up their TNT Championship match, and good stuff building a tag title match. Private Party having a new theme song to go with new attitude and new gear, all good stuff, but I did not think they’d beat The Iron Savages so quickly. Good promo for Private Party to call out The Bucks, and great little brawl to give us a Six Man Tag. I feel like someone on Private Party is taking that pin, and we’ve still got go-home week to see who stands tall before WrestleDream. Shibata is great but I feel like Perry finds a way to “survive” like he did with Suzuki. As for Private Party, I would love for them to win, but The Bucks probably pull something sneaky to cheat them.

And then great bookending of the night with this Blackpool Combat Club story. Great opening promo though I wish they had subs for Marina’s part. We got a great promo from Bryan to not just hype up tonight and the PPV but also to sum up the five years of Dynamite. And of course, an awesome match from Bryan VS Okada, even if it seemed a bit odd to have two titles on the line while keeping their separate rules intact. I just knew when this was announced that it’d go past 20 minutes so Okada’s title would be safe, and then Bryan would find a way to win. That’s what happened, but it was still awesome, and now Bryan leads the series 2-1.

However, I should’ve figured BCC would make a move on Bryan after. Great promo from Moxley to further tease what’s going on with this change in him. Yuta showing up to run BCC off and stand with Bryan was great, too, and their tag match for Title Tuesday next week will be good stuff. I would think that Yuta takes the pin, though, so that Claudio & Pac can call him the weak link and we’ll get into a scenario where the Trios Championships are on the line, Pac & Claudio having to find a new third man while Yuta has to go and find two partners, and we’ll get a really good match there.

My Score: 9.1/10

Saraya’s Rules: Saraya w/ Harley Cameron VS Jamie Hayter!

If you missed last week, the rules of a “Saraya’s Rules” match are simple: Saraya and those associated with her can do whatever they want to Jamie Hayter, but Jamie Hayter has to still play by the regular rules. Oh, and something about Hayter being a slag. But with chairs and tables already set up inside and outside the ring, it is clear what Saraya plans on doing. Will this all go swimmingly for The Outcasts? Or will Hayter Hit Hard, no matter the odds?

AEW shares more of the sit-down interview with Will Ospreay and Ricochet.

The full interview is still available on AEW’s YouTube channel, but in this clip, Renee Paquette asks about the pressure being put on both men for their AEW International Championship match. Ricochet says he’s been here a thousand times before. Him coming into AEW was a chance to show everyone a different side of Ricochet. But even before he got a 360 look, all these people, from Don Callis, Kyle Fletcher, The Beast Mortos, Pac, and of course Will Ospreay, they had to say something. Ospreay says yeah, and the reason why is Ricochet forgot who he was. That six year “hiatus” and now look at him! His personality is showing, he is comfortable with himself again.

But Ospreay wants Ricochet to keep in mind, Renee said “pressure.” The pressure Ricochet is putting himself under. And now he is in the ring with, whether he likes it or not, “Little Bro” Ospreay, who is the best wrestler in the world right now. Whether or not either man is feeling the pressure of the moment, which one of them will stand tall at the Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show?

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.

Lexy Nair is with The Galaxy’s Greatest and brings up how we haven’t seen her since that win in the “insane Street Fight” from All Out. Kris asks what Lexy wants her to do about that. To complain about her spot? To ask why she wins the big matches yet all anyone talks about is the loser? Should Kris could look into this camera and beg for her opportunity? Sorry, Lexy, guess she’s the odd woman out because she’s not that insecure. Kris knows who she is, what she does, and if you had to design a woman wrestler from the ground up, you wouldn’t be able to think of something near as good as Kris.

So Kris has a hard time feeling sorry for herself. She picks her spots, calls her shots, and when she’s ready, she’ll let us know. But in the meantime, every woman in AEW should be saying, “Thank You, Stat.” Because when you face Kris, you either get better, or you get destroyed. Kris heads out, but will she be heading up to the top of the division soon enough?

And together, they are the M X M Collection~! Fingertip touch, and then Mansoor reminds us that two weeks ago, they claimed Max Caster’s jacket for two reasons. One: Much like Max, it was ugly. Two: It was emblazoned with a lie! It says Max Caster is the Best Wrestler Alive? HAHAHAHAHA! MXM calm down from the laughing fit, and Mason says they have remedied the problem. They have made Caster’s jacket the grand, explosive climax to their little show. Now, we know not just anyone can model MXM’s avant-garde designs, so they made sure that for all of us, the little people, that their male models will be just as handsome as MXM.

So now, without further ado, please get ready for MXM’s Grand Slam Fashion Walk! We look back to the stage and strutting out first, “wearing a vision [Mason Madden] once had in an Appalachian sweat lodge,” Italy’s Felipe sports gold pants, big brimmed hat and sheer button up. Mansoor says wearing a ski suit that once braved the Matterhorn, it is Antonio! Third, “wearing 24 karat gold sifted from the rivers in Sierra Leone, this is Cameroon.” Not a bad jacket but are those sneakers on a necklace? Fourth, “wearing fur extracted from the flesh of the endangered capybara in the Galapagos Islands in Cameroon, this is Sierra Leone!”

Fifth, “in honor of the US Open, you know him, you love him, international tennis superstar, Ashley Arthur!” Oh get it? Name inversion. But denim short shorts might not be regulation for pro-tennis play… And last but not least, from right here in Queens, with a leopard print fur coat, purple pants and a walking stick… JEFF!! The union requires that even he is allowed to participate. Mansoor says give it up for all their male models! The fans do cheer, but it feels like the veiled man is getting anxious. Mason says now that we’ve all been sufficiently fluffed, time for the moment we’ve all come for! And if you haven’t yet, you will!

They looked around the world for the finest body they could find! The grandest musculature they could witness! And they found him in the forests on the outskirts of Düsseldorf, “the Pride of Prussia,” East Germany’s greatest export, MXM’s piece de resistance–that’s French for a fine piece of ass–put your hands together for the model of Caster’s jacket… HANS!! Hans is revealed and he is JACKED! The jacket, however, has a big heart cutout on the front where the buttons go, the sleeves are sheer with a flourish pattern, but MXM is more into Hans’ body. They have Hans spin, and we see the back, and it seems Hans is wearing sheer shorts and a speedo…

But the important thing is the back of the jacket: “Bratinum Max Caster BEST DRESSED ALIVE.” Arthur Ashe is getting quite the show, Hans. Mansoor loves the jacket, but he speaks for everyone here when he says… TAKE IT OFF! Hans does indeed take off the jacket, and his vascularity floors MXM! Hans flexes, Mansoor says he never thought he’d say this, but… Hans would be PERFECT for MXM Collection! It would be an honor if he touched tips. The fans fire up, and Hans holds up his finger, to then GRAB THE TIPS! How dare he! But SURPRISE! Hans is DADDY ASS! Billy Gunn DOUBLE LARIATS MXM down!

The fans fire up as Billy takes out all the other “models,” from Felipe to Jeff, but then MXM joins in! They all beat up on Billy, and then Mason reels him in. But here comes The Acclaimed! Caster & Bowens clear out the male models but MXM go running! The fans fire up as Bowens & Caster set Antonio up for the INVERTED BOMB! MXM want to know where the REAL Hans is, but Caster picks up the remade jacket. Caster puts it on?! Caster doesn’t seem to mind, and then he winds up… to POSE~! And then SCISSOR FINGER with Bowens & Billy! Will The Acclaimed give MXM their own makeover when these teams finally have a match?

Lumberjack Strap Match: Hangman Page VS Jeff Jarrett!

The Black Hat Cowboy’s rage has not only burned down Swerve’s childhood home, but it has burned the bridges between him and all those who were once his friend. But it has also gotten him on the wrong side of just about everyone else on the roster, which is why The Dark Order, The Bang Bang Gang, and Team Triple J are ringside, ready to lash out with straps! Will Hangman pay for all the #CowboyS*it he’s been up to? Or will he beat The Last Outlaw at his own game?

The bell rings and the lumberjacks are ready to do some lashing! Jarrett and Hangman circle, Hangman runs up but Jarrett dodges to fire hands! Hangman fires back, but Jarrett fires a flurry of haymakers! Jarrett whips, hangman reverses and BOOTS! Hangman runs up but Jarrett puts him on the apron! Hangman holds onto ropes, and he is safe there as the lumberjacks can only attack someone who is on the floor. Jarrett runs up, Hangman counter punches, then hurries in. Hangman bumps Jarrett off buckles, CHOPS him, then ROCKS him. Hangman stalks Jarrett, grinds his face off the ropes, but the fans rally up.

Hangman whips Jarrett, Jarrett ducks ‘n’ dodges, but leaps into Hangman’s arms! FALL AWAY SLAM! Jarrett ends up on the apron, but The Dark Order leaves him be. Not just because of the rules, but because their beef is not with him. But then Hangman triangle jumps! Jarrett ducks the lariat, then he DUMPS Hangman out! And The Dark Order closes in! Hangman hurries back inside, but Jarrett runs up! Hangman dodges, then Alabama Lifts! Jarrett sunset flips it, steps through, but Hangman fires hands! Hangman BITES Jarrett’s forehead, kicks him away, then stands. Hangman storms up again, but Jarrett UPPERCUTS!

Jarrett tells the boys to get ready, and he whips, but Hangman reverses to TOSS Jarrett out! Triple J hug it out! The fans cheer and Hangman is pissed. Jarrett slides in, but Hangman TOSSES him out the other side! Alex Reynolds says screw it and LASHES Jarrett! Karen Jarrett can only watch in pain from the stage as even Juice Robinson gets a shot in! Jarrett scrambles back into the ring while the fans cheer on Juice. Hangman drags Juice up, clinches, and BELLY2BELLY SUPLEXES! Cover, TWO! Jarrett is still in this, and Collision goes picture in picture. Or not…

Hangman flips off the fans as they taunt him, then paces around Jarrett. Hangman drags Jarrett up, ROCKS him with a haymaker, then stalks Jarrett to a corner. The Bang Bang Gang are like sharks with blood in the water, but Hangman denies them Jarrett. Hangman CHOPS Jarrett, then mocks the applause. Hangman whips corner to corner, runs up, but Jarrett dodges! Jarrett climbs up and he rains down fists! But Hangman stops him at 3 to fireman’s carry! He DUMPS Jarrett out, but Jarrett ROCKS Hangman! Hangman DECKS Jarrett, and Jarrett falls! The Gunns go right after Jarrett with the straps!

The fans are torn but Jarrett gets away from the Ass Boys! Hangman drags Jarrett up, fireman’s carries, and DEATH VALLEY DRIVERS! Cover, TWO! Jarrett stays in this but Hangman argues with Aubrey about her count. Hangman kicks Jarrett around, scrapes him to the apron, but Jarrett holds ropes to stay off the ground. Hangman fires a hand, but Jarrett just fires up! The fans fire up, but Hangman ROCKS Jarrett again! Jarrett tells Hangman to hit him again! Hangman does, so Jarrett hits back! Screens go dark, but when they come back, Jarrett dodges a haymaker to RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! And more technical difficulties, so Collision goes to break.

Collision returns and Jarrett fires up! The fans fire up with him, and Jarrett TOSSES Hangman out! The Bang Bang Gang LASHES away on Hangman! Hangman scrambles in, Jarett puts him on ropes to STRADDLE ATTACK! Jarrett keeps going, but Hangman dodges to LARIAT Jarrett up and out! Lethal & Satnam are there to protect Jarrett, but Hangman WRECKS them all with a dropkick! Satnam keeps Karen away from the danger, and the lumberjacks swarm Hangman! Hangman fires hands on them all, and he even DECKS John Silver! Dark Order asks what the heck, but Juice runs up! Hangman dodges to then DECK Juice!

Hangman storms up to the apron, slingshots, BUCK0 LASH from Juice! Juice doesn’t care about rules anymore, and the fans fire up! Hangman is pissed, and he storms up on Juice! Hangman grabs Juice’s arm, but Jarrett goes up! Jarrett SUPER CROSSBODIES Hangman, Juice and the Gunns! The fans fire up with Double J as he rises up! Jarrett puts Hangman in, storms up, wrench and- NO, Hangman pushes out of the Stroke! Hangman LASHES Jarrett!? He took that strap from Juice! The ref reprimands but Hangman LASHES Jarrett again! Karen has had it, she storms into the ring! But Hangman threatens to hit her, too!?

The fans boo as Karen tells Hangman to get back! Karen shields her husband, the ref wants Karen to leave, and Hangman says if the ref doesn’t remove Karen, he will! But then Lethal slides in to shield Karen & Jeff. So Hangman LASHES Lethal! Karen hurries away, Hangman aims at all the lumberjacks! He dares them to get in! Jarrett has Lethal’s strap! And he LASHES away on Hangman! Hangman bails out, but that lets Dark Order LASH him! The fans fire up as they give Hangman what he deserves! The Bang Bang Gang joins in! Juice CLUBS Hangman, and Lethal LASHES Hangman! Then he PULLS Hangman’s arms, while Satnam LASHES him!!

The fans fire up, Jarrett gets Hangman in! Karen gives Hangman some good licks, too! The ref gets Karen to back up, but Hangman LOW BLOWS!! The fans boo but Hangman hits the DEADEYE!! Cover, Hangman wins!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

The Last Outlaw tried, but he could not stop the rage of Hangman Page. Hangman even threatens the ref! The Bang Bang Gang protects Jarrett, only for Hangman to go after them! Hangman CHOKES Juice, then HANGS him!! The Gunns LASH away on Hangman, so Hangman goes into retreat! Hangman warns them to never get in his business again, but is he picking a fight with the Collision Cowboys that he can’t win?

AEW Continental Championship Title Eliminator: Kazuchika Okada VS Sammy Guevara!

While The Rainmaker made it through Fatal 4 Way odds at All Out, The Spanish God has been fighting alongside Dustin Rhodes both in AEW and ROH. Will Sammy prove he’s ready for more gold? Or will Okada be the one walking away from this Collision?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. They tie up, and Okada waistlocks. Sammy switches, Okada pries the hold open, and he wrenches to a wristlock. Sammy reaches for ropes, Okada keeps him back, so Sammy spins, flips, and wrenches back! Okada kneels, grits his teeth, and fights up. Okada pulls Sammy’s hair, puts him on ropes, but lets off at 4. Okada fakes the chop to pat Sammy on the shoulder. Sammy nods and shrugs that off, then circles with Okada. But Okada kicks low! Okada CLUBS Sammy, snapmares, and runs side to side to basement DROPKICK! Sammy flounders to the apron while fans applaud.

Sammy rolls back in, Okada covers, ONE! Sammy pushes Okada away, goes back to ropes, but Okada ROCKS him! Okada whips, Sammy reverses then hurdles, backflips and DROPKICKS! Okada bails out and Sammy kips up so smooth! The fans fire up, but Sammy fakes Okada out with the springboard! Sammy spins and poses, but Okada storms up. Sammy DROPKICKS him back down! Sammy builds speed, and FOSBURY FLOPS! Down goes Okada and the fans fire up again! Sammy brings Okada up and into the ring, then aims, only for Okada to roll out the side. The fans cheer, and Sammy runs in around the way!

Sammy uses the steps to FLYING CUTTER to the floor! The fans fire up while both men are down, and a ring count starts. Sammy drags himself up, crawls to the apron and stands. Sammy aims again, but Okada avoids the Quebrada! Kick and DDT to the floor! Okada grins while fans applaud, and Collision goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Sammy but somehow, Sammy is still in this. Okada drags Sammy up, then whips him hard into railing! Sammy falls over, Okada soaks up cheers and jeers, then he goes back for Sammy. Okada rips up a fan’s sign cheering on Sammy, but then gives it back to the fan. Okada HAMMERS Sammy down, then drags him back up. Okada puts Sammy in the ring, storms up the steps, and then brings Sammy up. Okada bumps Sammy off buckles, then winds up, to ELBOW! Okada smirks as fans thought he was going to chop, and he ELBOWS Sammy again. Okada whips corner to corner, runs in, and ELBOWS Sammy again!

Sammy flounders while Okada soaks up cheers and jeers. Okada kicks at Sammy, toying with him, but then Sammy CHOPS! Okada doesn’t flinch, so Sammy snarls and fires a forearm! And another forearm! Okada DECKS Sammy with just one! Okada pushes Sammy around, dares him to hit back, so Sammy rises to CHOP! Sammy fires forearm after forearm, but Okada catches him into the MONEY CLIP! Sammy endures, even as Okada grinds him down. Collision returns to single picture, Sammy fires body shots, and then arm-drags free! Okada runs back up, Sammy ducks ‘n’ dodges to leap, but into Okada’s arms!

Okada gut wrenches, but Sammy fights to SPIKE-RANA!! The fans fire up while both men are down! A standing count begins, both men stir and rise up. Sammy stands at 5 of 10, and he fires forearms! Okada fires back, they go back and forth, but then Okada UPPERCUTS! Okada whips, Sammy ducks ‘n’ dodges and FLYING FOREARMS! Sammy kips up and the fans fire up! Sammy runs in to LARIAT Okada up and out! Then Sammy builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit and Sammy hits railing hard, too! The fans fire up as Sammy rises, then he goes up the corner. Sammy aims, says a quick prayer, and ARIHARA MOONSAULTS! Down goes Okada!!

The fans are thunderous while both men are on the outside! The ring count starts, and Sammy stands at 5 of 10. Sammy vows to end this, and he drags Okada up. Torture rack, but Okada CLUBS free! Sammy BOOTS Okada! The count is 7! Sammy runs up, Okada BACKDROPS him onto steel steps!! The ref hurries out to check Sammy, and Okada has a sinister look on his face. Sammy writhes, but he is somehow still in this. Okada grins as he storms over to Sammy, and he drags Sammy up to put in the ring. Sammy crawls, Okada stalks him, but the fans rally up. Okada drags Sammy up, to whip and DROPKICK!

Okada doesn’t stop, he just hauls Sammy up to scoop SLAM! Okada goes up a corner, for the MACHO ELBOW! The fans fire up and Okada stands. Okada winds it up, to… FLIP US OFF! Okada has a scowl as he ripcords Sammy, RAIN- SPANISH FLY!! Cover, TWO!! Sammy almost had Okada with that sudden turnaround, but he hurries to the apron. Sammy aims from the corner, springboards, but Okada gest under! And then he sends the ref at Sammy! Sammy dodges the sucker punch to SUPERKICK! Torture rack, and GO TO HOSPITAL!! But Okada flounders to a corner! Sammy is stunned, but he runs up to RAM into Okada!

Sammy ENZIGIRIS from the apron, then springboards again! But Okada catches the cutter, to RAINMAKER!! Cover, Okada wins!

Winner: Kazuchika Okada, by pinfall (denies Sammy Guevara a title match)

The Spanish God came so close, but not even he could stop the rain! Will Sammy have to aim for a different title if he wants to be like #DustinTwoBelts? Will anyone stop Okada with the roll he’s been on?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision to finish up Grand Slam week, with only that one glaring flaw during the Lumberjack Strap match. TV production may be complex stuff, but this wasn’t even a live episode. Was someone half asleep and not paying attention to the cues for commercial breaks? It kinda killed the momentum of what was a very good match from Jarrett and Hangman, especially with all the people at ringside. But as such, the overbooking and distractions was a good way to give Hangman that win. Hangman also seems to be moving on to The Bang Bang Gang as he and Juice got into it. We certainly get Hangman VS Juice 1v1, and I would think Hangman wins that. Maybe Jay White returns as part of Hangman’s story?

The Saraya’s Rules match was a very fun opener, but Hayter won just as I figured. Hard to say which title scene she gets in, but as she’s already been world champion, maybe she challenges Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship, going for the historic AEW Women’s Division double, same as Hikaru Shida and others have. Great Trios Tornado match, and I suppose The Learning Tree winning makes sense if the story is to continue. Jericho taking the win when Bill hit the finish was also something we should’ve expected. Technically it should be Big Bill with the right to challenge Mark Briscoe, but Jericho is Jericho and therefore selfish. Maybe this “wasted” title shot becomes another seed of dysfunction within the faction.

Really good match from Action and Brody, but of course Brody won. The surprise was The Righteous going after Top Flight. I suppose we get Top Flight Airlines VS Archer & Righteous, the winners getting a Six Man Tag with House of Black, and then the Six Man Tag leads to new challengers for the Trios Championships. Speaking of which, very good stuff in the title match tonight, and it went about as I expected: Yuta didn’t want in; Claudio forces his hand; Yuta goes berserk like he has before, and that’s how the team wins. Maybe if this new Blackpool Combat Club runs into a team like House of Black or Archer & Righteous, that is when they lose titles, but it won’t be until then.

Great title match from Jack Perry and Minoru Suzuki, especially when Suzuki was not on my list of expected challengers. Perry choosing to win by count out was an interesting move, but I like Shibata showing up to stop Perry from going further. Still a bit disappointed nothing was truly settled between the Jericho Vortex and the trio of Samoa Joe, Hook & Shibata, though. But Shibata VS Perry will be great stuff, and Perry finds an even sneakier way to retain the title. He might even take the count out loss so that Champion’s Advantage keeps the belt with him. I would still think someone like Daniel Garcia could challenge for the title and maybe even win it.

Awesome Triple Threat to celebrate lucha libre and Hispanic Heritage Month, even though it’s less a month and just the four weeks between September 15th and October 15th. But great win for Hologram, and I really like that La Faccion Ingobernable is back, with Mortos as their heavy instead of Vance. Still scratching my head as to where the resolution to the story of Rush and Don Callis went. But whatever, LFI should’ve been what was going on all along, and maybe they can feud with whatever form The Don Callis Family takes in the near future.

Very fun video from The Outrunners, I just hope they get going in the ring, really build up their record. Very fun segment from MXM with The Acclaimed, but I don’t think they needed that many “male models” who were of course indie wrestlers. And I could just feel that “Hans” was Billy Gunn all along, but that was a great moment to really remind us all that Billy is jacked. Great brawl that ran MXM off, and the tag match that’s coming will be a lot of fun. As I said before, it probably won’t outright lead someone to a title match, but if MXM gets a win over The Acclaimed, that is a big thing for their rise in the ranks.

And great main event out of Sammy and Okada. I really got worried for Sammy at a couple points, but then I was a little unsure why Sammy didn’t sell the leg more. Okada still won out, Sammy will just have to settle for being ROH World Tag Team Champion with Dustin for now. Maybe Sammy should shift to the ROH World TV Championship, get the belt back from Atlantis Jr. or something. As for Okada, I would think Konosuke Takeshita is still his next challenger, they need to get that 1v1 done, probably for WrestleDream. That could be a real show stealer given what we know both men are capable of.

My Score: 8.8/10
