Sammy Guevara is here!

Chris Jericho was trying to explain his part in what happened on Dynamite, but The Spanish God is interrupting! Sammy has a mic and he tells Jericho, “Chris, you’re pissing me off. But I know I’m pissing you off.” Jericho has a mic to say that’s true, Sammy is definitely pissing him off. Sammy says he’s so mad, he wants to punch Jericho in the face. Jericho says that’s funny, because he wants to punch Sammy, too. The two step closer, and Sammy says that’s funny, because he wants to punch Jericho right now. Jericho says okay, let’s just be honest here. They’re both on each other’s nerves, but that’s okay because they’re brothers. Day one in AEW!

They had a great match against Aussie Open, they won it, and are on their way to becoming AEW World Tag Team Champions as Le Sex Gods, there is no doubt in Jericho’s mind. But they still can’t seem to get over this little bit of animosity they have towards each other. So Jericho thinks they need to settle this and get it out of their system. Does Sammy agree? Yes, Sammy 100% agrees. Then just like friends getting into a fight at the bar, they punch each other, they laugh it off, shake hands and have a few more beers, that is where these two are. So why don’t they do what they do best? They should have a match against each other. Fans like the sound of that!

Jericho says this way, Sammy can punch Jericho, Jericho can punch Sammy, they can get this crap out of the way and figure out who the better man is, and then move on down the line to win the tag titles. Jericho feels this is a good idea. Sammy says now the question is, where do they do that? Well, they could’ve done it here tonight but Jericho’s in his commentary clothes, aka just slacks and a belt. But how about one of the biggest shows in AEW history? New York City, Grand Slam, Jericho VS Guevara, they’ll work this out and in the end, hug it out and get back on track. Sammy says hell yeah! They shake on it, and then hug here. But will they still be in the mood to hug it out after a battle in New York?

Six Woman Tag: Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue VS Taya Valkyrie, Anna Jay & The Bunny w/ Penelope Ford!

There’s a #1 Contender’s Fatal 4 Way on next Wednesday’s Dynamite, but it’s former champions only as The Doctor and the Shining Samurai will be joining Nyla Rose and Toni Storm in the match. Can Britt and Shida hold off on fighting each other to work together one more time alongside the young Chicago girl? Or will La Wera Loca, The Star of the Show, and the Wascally Wabbit prove they should be in the title picture instead?

The teams sort out and Bunny starts against Skye. Fans rally while Skye is wary of Bunny’s stare. The two circle while Bunny kinda frolics around. They tie up, Skye gest around but Bunny blocks the arm-drag! Bunny brings Skye up but Skye rolls Bunny with a bridge, TWO! Skye stands up but Bunny kicks low! Bunny talks trash, runs, but Skye avoids the knee to waistlock. Bunny switches, Skye bucks the O’Conner to cover, TWO! The two back off and Skye waves. Taya tags herself in and fans rally up. They approach, Taya gets around Skye to CLUB her on the back! Skye scowls and storms up to throw a forearm!

Taya grins, and ROCKS Skye! Skye hits back, Taya CHOPS her! Skye CHOPS, Taya fires a forearm, and they go back and forth! Taya SLAMS Skye down on the mat, then brings her up to bump off buckles. Taya stomps Skye, kicks her, tags Anna and Anna runs to LEG LARIAT! Tag to Bunny, and she frolics again, to then SLIDING FOREARM! Bunny laughs and makes faces, to then throw elbow after elbow into Skye! The ref reprimands and counts, Bunny drags Skye out of the corner to SMACK off the mat! Cover, TWO! Bunny argues the count, but she drags Skye back to tag in Taya. They mug Skye, Taya brings Skye around and has a chinlock. Taya holds Skye’s hand out mockingly to her team, and then snapmares Skye for a top wristlock.

Skye endures, fights up, and throws shots on Taya! But Taya throws Skye by her hair! Taya drops an elbow but Skye dodges! But Anna and Bunny are lurking! Skye crawls over but they YANK Britt and Shida down! Taya then CLOBBERS Skye! Taya stands Skye up, soaks up the cheers and jeers, and she hits Skye with BLUE THUNDER! Cover, TWO! Taya drags Skye up, tags in Anna, and then bumps Skye off buckles. Anna digs her boot in, thrashes Skye, but steps off as the ref counts. Anna then CHOKES Skye on the ropes! The ref counts again, Anna lets off to bump Skye off buckles and she tags Taya in as Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns and Taya has Skye down with a Half Boston Crab! Skye endures, reaches out, but then powers out! But Taya storms up to waistlock! Skye ELBOWS free, then SUPERKICKS! Hot tags to Anna and Shida! Shida rallies on Anna with forearms! Then she DECKS Bunny, DECKS Taya, then ROCKS Anna! Fans are thunderous for Shida and she reels Anna into a torture rack! But Taya runs in, to kick Shida low! Taya whips Shida to the corner, then whips Anna in so she can ROCK Shida with a forearm! Tag to Bunny and she frolics around while taunting Shida. Then Bunny dragon sleepers, but Skye SUPERKICKS Bunny down!

Taya storms in to SPEAR Skye! Shida SLIDING FOREARMS Taya! Anna ROCKS Shida, Shida KNEES Anna! Britt tags in and fans fire up as she SUPERKICKS Anna! And out comes the glove! Britt spells it out, “D! M! D!” She grabs Bunny, brings her around, BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Shida is up top to add a METE- NO, Bunny moves, but Britt has Bunny again! Ripcord, but Bunny ducks the elbow to shove Britt into Shida! Then Bunny runs to KNEE LIFT Britt! Cover, TWO! Britt then springs the RINGS OF SATURN, to have the LOCKJAW!! Bunny taps, Britt’s team wins!

Winners: Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue, by submission

The Doctor snatches victory from the jaws of defeat, as it were, and she looks for a fist bump from Shida. Britt explains that it was miscommunication, they still won! Parallels to Jericho and Sammy, but at least Shida still fist bumps back. Though, maybe with some passive aggressive stank on it. But it won’t matter now since it will be every former Women’s Champion for themselves on Dynamite! As such, who gets themselves a big title opportunity at AEW Grand Slam?

Hook speaks.

The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil has the FTW Championship back on his shoulder after beating Jack Perry at All In London, and he’s heading home to New York now. “Feels good to have the FTW title back where it belongs: In New York.” But then, will someone look to take Hook on in his hometown?

The Young Bucks VS Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker w/ Jake Hager!

Matt & Nick Jackson lost to FTR at All In, and they lost alongside FTR at All Out. Is the AEW Tag Division passing them by? Or will they get the Superkick Party up and running again here on Rampage?

The teams sort out and Nick starts against Cool Hand Ange as the fans chant “THE! ELITE! THE THE ELITE!” Parker and Nick circle, Daddy Magic distracts and that allows Parker to sucker punch Nick! Parker whips, Matt tags, Nick hurdles, and Nick whips Parker. The Bucks drop, then double hip toss! And double fist drop! And then double kip up to double dropkick Daddy Magic! Fans fire up with The Bucks and Matt whips Nick in at the corner. Parker puts Nick on the apron, Matt runs in and blocks Parker’s boots! Matt puts Parker in the ropes, tag to Nick before the DRAPING NECKBREAKER and then DRAPING SENTON!

Menard runs in again but into more double kicks! Nick runs, Matt gives him the boost to DROPKICK Menard down! Fans fire up again and Nick brings Parker around. Matt hits back! And again! Menard kicks low, CHOPS Matt, and then bumps him off buckles. Menard RAMS into Matt, tags Parker, and Parker whips Menard in so Menard can whip Parker! Forearm smash! Drop toehold! BOOYAH ELBOW! Cover, TWO!

Parker drags Matt up, brings him over, and continues where he left off, snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Parker keeps on Matt, tags to Menard, and they send Matt into their corner. Menard whips Parker in but Matt tosses him up and out! Menard runs in but is sent into Parker! Menard keeps Matt from Nick, then whips him to the corner! Menard runs in but into BOOTS! Matt goes up, to leap over Menard and roll, hot tag to Nick! Nick goes up to DOUBLE CROSSBODY Menard & Parker! Nick fires off haymakers on each of them!

Nick blocks Menard’s chop to knuckle lock, CHOP, and then go up and up and LUCHA LIBRE~, arm-drag and rana combo! Fans fire up as Nick then runs in at the corner to clothesline Menard! Parker gets the SHINING WIZARD, GAMANGIRI, ELBOW and then, BULLDOG- NO, Parker powers out! Menard drop toeholds again, Parker BOOYAH- SUPERKICK!! Matt takes Parker out, Nick SUPERKICKS Menard! Hager gets up, to get DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! The Bucks then get Menard for B T E TRIGGER!! Cover, The Bucks win!

Winners: The Young Bucks, by pinfall

Matt & Nick are back on the winning track! But how much harder will the climb back up the tag division ranks be after their high profile losses?

Mike Santana speaks.

“Comes a time in everyone’s life where you reach a fork in the road. But when you get there, there’s decisions that need to be made in order to proceed int he right direction. Some roads are easy, and lead to mediocrity and comfortability. And some roads come with new challenges and force you to grow. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned through this process is that you can’t depend on anyone to have the same passion and drive. Or hell, to even have your back the same way that you would. But with that being said, the world has been asking all these questions. Now the world is about to get all their answers.

“The road that I’ve chosen to take is one that must be taken on my own. No crutch, no crew, straight dolo, exactly how I like it. All I’ve done my entire life is bet on myself. But I tell you this: I’m not here to be another guy in the game. I’m here to be the guy. And I know I’ll piss a lot of people off, but you can ask me if I give a damn. I ain’t here to make friends. I’m here to make money. And if you ain’t done, you’re gonna get run down. The nastiest is yet to come.”

Joe lets Jeff go, and he stares into the camera to say he’s coming for MJF! Collision will see Samoa Joe VS Penta El Zero Miedo and Roderick Strong VS Darby Allin, who will be our finalists for this tournament?

My Thoughts:

A very good Rampage here, especially with some things actually at stake. The Bucks VS Menard & Parker was technically filler but it was meant to build The Bucks back up in the tag division. The Six Woman Tag was also a sort of go-home-esque build match for the Fatal 4 Way on Dynamite. The Faces winning made sense, as AEW is building Skye up and this gives momentum to Shida and Britt even though I don’t see them winning. And as I mentioned, the parallel to Jericho and Sammy, Shida and Britt are at odds now and they’re surely going to feud after this Dynamite. Speaking of, good promo from Sammy and Jericho to set up their own match for Grand Slam, and that match surely tears these two apart once and for all, I assume.

I just realized there was no QTV this week. And I am very thankful for that. Good vignette for Hook, he totally should be confronted by someone for another FTW Championship feud while Jack Perry is serving his suspension. Ironically, I feel like Johnny Nitro Mundo TV Morrison should be that one since he has like the opposite personality of Hook. Great stuff for Collision, too, with that 8 Man of Bullet Club Gold VS quattro luchadores! Great to see even more former Lucha Underground talent showing up in AEW, i.e. Aerostar and Drago/Dios Del Inframundo. Chances are, BCG wins there to build even more momentum going into an AEW World Tag Team Championship match with FTR.

And really good Grand Slam Title Eliminator Tournament matches, of course. Penta VS Lethal was a fun opener, with Triple J of course getting involved but also getting caught, which was hilarious. Joe VS Jeff was also really good, but given Joe’s promo with MJF and beating him down, Joe of course won here. That is also why Penta won, because then we get Face VS Heel in this match, same as for Darby VS Strong. Now, I’m pretty sure we get Joe VS Strong, as Joe has beef with MJF and Strong has beef with both MJF and Adam Cole. Plus, Strong’s neck was originally hurt by Samoa Joe, there is so much great potential given the continuity, this has to be the finals on Dynamite.

My Score: 8.7/10
