Trick Williams arrives!

He steps inside the building and you can already hear the fans chanting. Cedric Alexander says they talked about this last week, what’s going on? Trick says he appreciates the advice but he isn’t stopping until he gets his title back. He wants Ethan Page! Trick storms off, and Ashante THEE Adonis steps in. Ashante told Cedric it was a waste of time. Trick ain’t trying to hear you. Yeah, Cedric sees that. And with that, Trick’s music hits as he steps out on stage! The fans chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” as Trick goes to the ring. Trick grabs a mic and gets fired up! He has the music cut, and he says let’s talk about it.

Since losing his championship, Trick ain’t been the same. He feels he lost a piece of himself. So much so, he talked to some OGs, some guys he trusts, and it all led to one thing: Ethan Page will see Trick again. And Trick won’t stop ’til he gets the title back, believe that. Wait, now Cedric makes his own entrance? Cedric tells Trick that he didn’t want to do this out in front of the world, but the advice Trick asked for came from a good place. Trick says he already said he appreciates Cedric, and he also already said he wants that title back. Cedric says as someone who won a title in WWE, he wants to help Trick from making mistakes.

Cedric wants Trick to not be blinded by his passion. Trick says he’s never been blinded by that. But then Ashante makes his entrance and says he just said, Trick ain’t trying to hear him! Trick tells Ashante, he doesn’t even know why he’s here. If he’s stirring the pot, they don’t need that, he should just go back to SmackDown. Ashante says nobody is a cook, he’s just picking up the ball Trick dropped. Trick says he’s never dropped a ball. And even when Ashante had a whole group with him, he couldn’t get the ball of the ground in the first place. How’d it go? HIT~ ROW~! The fans echo that back.

Ashante brushes that off but Cedric says right there is what he’s talking about. Trick is letting his emotions get the better of him. How is that going to get him the NXT Championship? And Ashante, just go to the back, let Cedric handle this. Ashante says no matter how much wisdom Cedric gives, it won’t click for Trick. Right now in the ring, Trick is in third place. Trick’s never been third once in his life! Listen to the people! Trick isn’t gonna stop until he gets gold back. Cedric says hold up, hold up. The fans are a little loud, but that sounds like Trick thinks he’s better than Cedric. Is that what he heard?

Cedric has been respectful but all Trick’s doing is disrespecting him back. So how about they do this tonight? Trick is mistaking kindness for weakness, and Cedric’s about to show him the difference! The fans fire up for that! Trick tells Cedric that he said what he said, so it’s on. The fans chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” but Ashante says another Trick decision, another Trick mistake. Trick DECKS Ashante! Ashante stands up, Trick DECKS him again! And again! Then Trick LARIATS Ashante up and out! Refs rush out, they bring Ashante away, but Cedric and Trick talk smack. Will Cedric show everyone that he is still PRIMED?

Ethan Page arrives.

And standing by the door are Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igew. Tyson says Oro pinned the champ, that’s crazy! Ethan asks if they’re serious. Of course they are. Or is All Ego all mad? No, Ethan said last week that none of this bothers him. Well luckily there wasn’t a ref or it’d be a short title reign. Luckily it wasn’t official at all! And it’s wild to Ethan that they’re okay with the champ thinking they’re not so bright. Ohh~! Hey, Champ, it’s okay to be embarrassed. Y’know what? They’re not worth Ethan’s time. Ty & Ty say the champ’s a bit sensitive. Will All Ego learn to have some thicker skin around here?

No Disqualifications: Josh Briggs VS Brooks Jensen!

Former tag team champions, former best friends, but something a bit more sinister than jealousy and success has gotten between these two. Can Briggs slap some sense into Jensen quite literally? Or is Jensen going to continue down that darker path?

WAIT, Jensen attacks Briggs at gorilla! That is definitely NOT right! They brawl from ramp to ringside, but then Jensen RAMS Briggs into barriers! Jensen puts Briggs in the ring, follows him in, and now the bell sounds. Jensen CLUBS Briggs then runs, but Briggs TOSSES Jensen out hard! Wait, what’s that white chair doing there? Briggs goes out after Jensen and he fires hands! Briggs SMACKS Jensen off barriers, brings him around and THRWOS him over barriers! Jensen flounders int he gap, Briggs jumps in after him, and fans fire up as Briggs rains down fists! Briggs CLUBS away, stomps away, and the fans love “NXT! NXT!” for making this happen!

Briggs stands tall, fire up, and then he drags Jensen up to TOSS him back to ringside! Briggs stalks Jensen, but Jensen drop toeholds him into the timekeeper’s area! Briggs’ face might’ve even hit the ring bell! Jensen drags Briggs up, but Briggs POSTS Jensen first! Briggs CHOKES Jensen, lets him know Jensen did this, and then CHOKE SLAMS Jensen through the desk!! Briggs shouts in Jensen’s face that he asked for this, and now he’s got it! Jensen writhes while NXT goes picture in picture!

Briggs looms over Jensen while Vic Joseph and Booker T stay back. Briggs throws off his vest and his shirt, paces around, then leaves Jensen behind to grab the steel steps. Briggs chucks the steps into the ring, goes back for Jensen, and hauls him up for an APRON BACK SUPLEX! Jensen writhes into the ring, and Briggs brings out kendo sticks! Briggs throws those like darts, getting Jensen in the side and back over and over. Briggs tosses a trash can in! Jensen avoids getting canned, but Briggs storms right in. Jensen fires body shots, ROCKS Briggs, but Briggs ROCKS him back! Briggs SMACKS Jensen off the steps, and again reminds him, he wanted this!

Briggs goes up the corner, takes aim, but Jensen SMACKS Briggs with a kendo stick! Briggs sits on the corner, and Jensen puts the can around him! Briggs is in a Steel Tree of Woe, and Jensen runs corner to corner! Jensen uses the steel steps to get air, and he DROPKICKS Briggs in the can! Briggs flops out of the Tree, drags himself out of the can, but Jensen covers, TWO! Jensen drags Briggs back up, and hoists him up onto the ropes. Jensen grabs the trash can, goes up a corner, and then FLYING CAN FLOP as Briggs moves! Jensen flounders from his crash landing, but Briggs drags him out. Briggs suplexes Jensen onto the floor!

Briggs huffs ‘n’ puffs as he hobbles and stalks Jensen. Briggs drags Jensen up to push him into the ring. NXT returns to single picture, “This is Awesome!” and Briggs takes what’s left of the desk for his own. Briggs puts the hood in through the ropes so that they rest in the corner. Jensen throat chops Briggs! Jensen LARIATS Briggs and Briggs clips the hood!! Jensen then CATAPULT GUILLOTINES Briggs into the hood!! The fans rally as Jensen crawls over and grabs a kendo stick. Jensen wants Booker T to notice. Three strikes? Well here’s ONE SMACK for Briggs! Here’s TWO SMACKS for Briggs! And here’s THREE!!

Jensen almost breaks that kendo stick as he SMACKS Briggs more! Briggs blocks a shot to ROCK Jensen! Briggs takes the stick but Jensen SLAPS him down! Briggs goes to ropes, Jensen drags him over and onto the steps! But Briggs fights the lift! Briggs pushes Jensen and BOOTS the steps into Jensen’s leg! Jensen hobbles, Briggs CLOBBERS him! Briggs BACK SUPLEXES Jensen onto the steps!! The fans go nuts seeing that double-edged move, and both men writhe off the steel onto the mat. Jensen flounders, Briggs crawls over, and Briggs SMACKS Jensen off the steel! Jensen SMACKS Briggs off steel!

The two start firing forearms, even as they slouch against steps! They push those steps aside to fire fast hands! The fans are thunderous, Jensen ROCKS Briggs! Briggs BOOTS Jensen! Jensen BOOTS back, then DOUBLE BOOTS take both men down! But both men hurry to grab kendo sticks! They DOUBLE SMACK!! Both men fall and the fans are thunderous again! “This is Awesome!” but Jensen grabs that white chair! Jensen brings it over, but Briggs DECKS him first! Briggs has the white chair, and now Jensen asks for mercy!? And then Shawn Spears appears!? Briggs storms over to Spears, saying this is on him!

But then Jensen SMACKS Briggs with Spears’ chair! And SMACKS him again! And again! And again!! The fans boo but Jensen SMACKS Briggs again! Briggs asks for mercy, and Jensen drops the chair. Only to drag Briggs up, and he looks to Spears. Spears smiles, Jensen FULL METAL DDTS!! Cover, Jensen wins!

Winner: Brooks Jensen, by pinfall

Shawn Spears applauds and smiles, happy to see former friends becoming such bitter enemies. Spears then pats Jensen on the shoulder. Is Jensen following The Chair Man’s guidance now?

Axiom meets with Nathan Frazer backstage.

The Undeniable Truth says he just talked with- Well, wait, here come The Rascalz! Wes Lee, Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel say what’s up, and they were hoping to continue their talk last week. Axiom congratulates The Rascalz on their win against Gallus and Wes says that was good. It’s great to have his friends by his side. Zach says sometimes, you gotta look to your past to move forward. And Trey says speaking of the past, did MSK ever lose the tag titles? Hmm… Let’s check on that. Wes says nope, they did not. Frazer says yeah, that would’ve been an insane match, right? Would have? Don’t talk like it can’t still happen, because it can still happen.

Wes says y’now what? It could even happen tonight. Axiom & Frazer say sure. But who sits out? It is three Rascalz. Well it is the Rascalz Reunion, so it’s all three. Oh, Six Man Tag then? Alright, see you tonight! But then Axiom wants to continue his news from earlier. Axiom’s getting in on the next WWE Speed tournament! That’s exciting, right? Who knows who he’s facing yet, but- HEY! Didn’t Axiom just get done telling Frazer that was all a distraction? Yeah, but it turned out to be okay, so Axiom figures he could try. Now they’re arguing about the tables turning… Well, will they be able to turn that around and find a third man to take on Wes, Zach & Trey?

The NXT Women’s Division watches film on Stephanie Vaquer.

La Primera’s string of headbutts on Isla Dawn for the WWE Live event in Mexico City has them all very impressed. And that crossbody, too. Sol Ruca says Stephanie looks incredible. Lola Vice and Karmen Petrovic agree, Stephanie will only make NXT stronger. But will she be considered a “rookie” like the rest of them? Fallon & Jacy consider anyone new here “a rookie.” But speaking of Isla, have she and Alba defended those tag titles since winning them? Doesn’t seem like it. But they were talking about showing up on SmackDown this Friday.

Lash Legend walks in with Jakara Jackson to say hold up, wait a minute! Before any of them get to thinking up some bright ideas, whenever those titles are defended, it’ll be against Miss Jackson & The Bougie Bully, okay? Yeah, sure… When was the last time they won as a team, though? Now, Karmen may not have had the same partner back then, but she did pin Jacy & Jazmyn. Oh, we keeping score now? Yes, because it’s a good point. Jakara says she and Lash are gonna put Sol & Karmen in their place tonight. Oh, we’ll see. Lash & Jakara excuse themselves to go watch Oro’s match. But will the Meta Four be literally speechless when they get their souls snatched?

Eddy Thorpe VS Lexis King!

The Alpha Wolf was just trying to do his DJ thing, and the Drama King had to ruin the fun. Will Eddy return the favor and drop Lexis harder than the beat? Or will Lexis rock Eddy and roll right through him?

NXT returns and Eddy makes his entrance. The bell rings and the two run up! Lexis dodges to CHOP, but Eddy CHOPS and ROCKS back! Lexis KNEES low, CHOPS again, then CHOPS again! Eddy slips around and hits the IMPALER DDT! Cover, Eddy wins!

Eddy spun Lexis like a record, and that was a smash hit! But then Lexis CLOBBERS Eddy! Lexis is a sore loser and he CLUBS away on Eddy! The fans boo but Lexis RAMS Eddy into steel steps! The ref reprimands, but Lexis puts Eddy’s arm between steps and post! The fans boo as Lexis gets his scepter, and CLUBS the hand! Eddy clutches his fingers and the fans boo, but did Lexis just end Eddy’s DJ career?

Backstage interview with Trick Williams.

Kelly Kincaid says while Trick wanted Ethan Page, he got Cedric Alexander. Yeah, but Trick will fight anyone on the way back to the title. There’s a lot of things he just doesn’t have the answer to right now, but one thing he isn’t paying around is waiting on Ethan. He’ll fight anyone. And tonight, that means Cedric. Nothing and no one is going to stop Trick. Pete Dunne says, “You think so?” Oh, now he has something to say? Then let’s talk it out. Dunne says, “Just figure it out.” Trick again scratches his head, what is going on with The Bruiserweight right now?

Oro Mensah w/ The Meta Four VS Ashante THEE Adonis!

Speaking of Ethan Page, the Main Man of Meta Four also wants after All Ego but got someone else instead. Will Oro prove himself worthy of that gold? Or will THEE tag partner of Cedric Alexander take out his frustrations from earlier tonight?

NXT returns and Ashante makes his entrance, and he is still trying to holler at Jakara. But then Oro DIVES onto him! The fans fire up, Oro puts Ashante in and the bell rings. Oro fires off hands but Ashante kicks low. Oro ROCKS Ashante, pulls Ashante’s jacket over his head, and then fires body shots! Oro snapmares then BOOTS Ashante! The jacket’s off, Oro runs up but Ashante kicks low! Ashante fires hands, Oro returns those, then whips Ashante for an EXPLODER! The fans fire up for Oro and he runs up on Ashante. Ashante DUMPS Oro to the apron, but Oro gets back up! Oro ROCKS Ashante, slingshots, but into an AIR DROP!

Lash & Jakara are worried for Oro but Ashante puts Oro in and KNEES him in the side! Ashante CLUBS away on Oro, runs and BOOTS him down! Ashante huffs ‘n’ puffs while fans boo, but Oro fires back with haymakers! Ashante kicks low, pushes Oro hard into the corner, then stands on Oro! Ashante goes up top, smiles at Jakara, but Oro YANKS Ashante down onto his Adonis! Oro SHOVES Ashante down, springboards and RIDER KICK! Oro fires shots then the SCISSOR KICK! Then a LIONSAULT! Fans fire up with Oro, he runs but Ashante ducks a kick to FLAPJACK!

Winner: Oro Mensah, by pinfall

The Main Man wins big, and he gets a mic to call out Ethan Page! Oro knows Ethan’s dumbass won’t come out here after last week. So if Ethan needs a reminder, it went like this: ONE, TWO, THREE! Oro counts again and again, but will he be able to win when it counts the most?

No Quarter Catch Crew receives a mysterious envelope.

In side is a ransom note style message that reads, “I saw what you did.” What’d they do? Tony D likes how old school that is. Okay, sure, but who sent it? Uh duh, Wren Sinclair, sillies. Wren walks in and Tony says yeah, silly! She’s got Dempsey over a barrel. Charlie says he needs this dealt with. Then just give Wren what she wants. They can’t! Well, let her now what they’re gonna do. They already told her what they’re gonna do. Oh, still? Well, she has a match tonight, so for Dempsey’s sake, she better win. Because who knows what she might do or say if she loses… What?! The D’Angelo Family wants to watch this go down! Will Wren hold this over the NQCC’s head until she’s IN the NQCC?

Wren Sinclair w/ The No Quarter Catch Crew VS Carlee Bright w/ Kendal Grey!

While she didn’t mean to witness you know what happening to you know who, who knew that Wren had this selfish side to her. Will she continue to hold NQCC hostage until they give in? Or will Wren not have a Bright future ahead?

The bell rings and we see The Don and family watching from the perch. Rizzo even brought popcorn. Wren and Carlee tie up, and Wren headlocks. Carlee powers out but Wren runs her over. Wren puts her dukes up a la Dempsey, and then things speed up. Wren blocks a hip toss to hip toss and armlock back. Carlee kips up and uses ropes to flip through. Carlee wrangles Wren, but Wren rolls and headscissors. Carlee kips free but Wren has the wrist! Wren wrenches, sweeps the legs, then has a standing toehold! Hank ‘n’ Tank walk ‘n’ talk.

When it comes to “big flavor win,” that’s the Great American Bash being a two week event, on SyFy Network! That’s huge. Two huge shows. Wait, don’t say it if you don’t mean it, Hank. Oh he means it. Picture this: The bodacious belly boys bringing the honk honk to the party. Yeah, but how? Oh, Hank has ideas. Let’s walk. And then we see Axiom & Frazer still arguing. Frazer brings up Axiom tell him to “lock in,” so time to lock in! Axiom says he is, just like Frazer during his time. They still won, they were gold! Je’Von Evans hurries over and says hey, he heard they need a third. The Young OG is free tonight, so what’s the word?

Oh, well, that’s one thing they can agree. Je’Von is in! Je’Von goes to get geared up, and Axiom says see? Everything will be just fine. This team not only never slows down, they’re about to get bouncy~! Will Je’Von help the NXT Tag Team Champions be ready for the Rascalz?

Chase U talks backstage.

Andre Chase & Riley Osborne tell Duke Hudson there is no reason to hang his head in shame. Duke may have lost to Oba Femi, but there will be gold back in Chase U soon enough. Duke agrees, he hopes Thea Hail does better against Roxanne Perez than he did against Oba. Riley says less of that. Duke smashed it! He took Oba to the limit and made Chase U proud. Same as Thea will against Roxie, and as she will in this interview.

We turn to the TV in the room, and Thea sits with Kelly Kincaid. Oh, new Chase U merch? Ridge Holland steps in and says yes, new shirt for the new champ! And they’re available on WWE Shop already. Christmas in July! Oh, oh, here goes. Words from the future champ right here!

Kelly thanks Thea for sitting down with her. A year ago, at last year’s Great American Bash, Thea went for the women’s title against Tiffany Stratton. How will Thea handle this year’s opportunity differently? Thea says she feels like a year ago, Chase U would’ve thrown her a pep rally to boost her confidence. And now, she doesn’t need it. She’s grown a lot, and they trust her to do things on her own, and that’s cool. Speaking of Chase U, Ridge was a huge part in Thea being given this chance. How has having Ridge around been for Chase U? Ridge is a human, like all of us. People judged him because he isn’t perfect, and Thea saw herself in that.

And Ridge empowers Thea to be herself. She let him in as a friend, and because of that, Chase U learned to let Ridge in. And with that, Thea gained confidence in herself, and feels they all know her now. Kelly says yeah, this feels  like such a different side of Thea. For one, she’s very calm right now. There’s all this buzz going into the Bash, but what would winning mean to her? Thea isn’t trying to win the title for herself. She’s winning for Chase U, and for all the girls like her who were counted out or picked last. And while Thea’s only 20, last year, she was 19, facing Tiffany, the biggest mountain to climb. Now, Roxie is that seemingly impossible obstacle.

But Thea can’t control those things. She can only control herself. So while Roxie and the rest of the world is wondering what the NXT Women’s Division will look like in the near future, Thea is focused on becoming the NXT Women’s Champion! Thea is calm, cool and collected, but will she be the one to conquer the seemingly unstoppable Prodigy?

Trick Williams VS Cedric Alexander!

Trick asked for advice, advice was given, but it wasn’t the advice Trick wanted so he rejected it. As such, Cedric felt disrespected and here we are! Will Cedric just be the first of many wins Trick racks up to return to the top of NXT? Or will Cedric bring out that PRIME part of him that was once NXT Cruiserweight Champion?

The bell rings and the two circle. The fans chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” and the two tie up. Trick puts Cedric in a corner, lets off, but then Cedric shoves him. Trick shoves back and fires up. The fans fire up and Cedric storms up. Cedric gets around to waistlock and SLAM! Cedric floats to a facelock, talks some trash, and gator rolls with Trick. Trick fights up, wrenches out and wristlocks. Cedric rolls, handsprings and wrenches to then wrangle Trick. Cedric talks more smack, but Trick fights up. Cedric wrenches and wrangles Trick again, slaps him around, but Trick rolls, kips up, and slips around to scoop and SLAM!

Trick paces, goes for legs, but Cedric kick shim away. Cedric gets around again but Trick arm-drags free. Cedric runs Trick over, keeps moving, but Trick hurdles then ELBOWS Cedric down! Cedric goes to ropes and the fans fire up. Trick is on Cedric in a corner to CHOP! Trick says he can do this all day. Cedric turns things around to CHOP! And CHOP! Trick puts Cedric in the corner to CHOP, CHOP and CHOP! The fans fire up for Trick, he whips corner to corner, but Cedric goes up and over. Cedric backflips but Trick steps back, then goes for legs again. Cedric drags Trick into a victory roll, TWO!

Cedric goes up and out to APRON STO! Trick writhes, Cedric brings him around, APRON BACK SUPLEX! Trick writhes more and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns and the forearms go back and forth! The fans rally, Cedric wobbles, but Cedric UPPERCUTS! DOUBLE LARIATS collide, then DOUBLE FOREARMS! Then DOUBLE BOOTS take both men down! The fans fire up for “NXT! NXT!” while the two men stir. Trick and Cedric slowly rise up and find each other. Trick fires a haymaker, but Cedric UPPERCUTS! Trick HAYMAKERS, Cedric fires forearms! Cedric UPPERCUTS, runs, but Trick POP-UP UPPERCUTS! Cedric ducks the heel kick to SOBAT, KICK and ROCK Trick back! Cedric runs again, but into a FLAPJACK! Cedric GAMANGIRIS, then steps in, but into a BOOKEND! Cover, TWO!!

Cedric survives but the fans are thunderous as Trick lets the hair down. Trick aims, Cedric stands, TRICK- NO, Cedric avoids the shot to roll Trick up! TWO, but Cedric KNEES Trick down! Then Cedric suplexes, ANARCHY! Cover, TWO! But into a short arm scissor! Trick clasps hands, fights around to stack, TWO! Cedric lets Trick go, then runs up, but into a BOOT! Trick runs up, TRICK SHOT!! Cover, Trick wins!

Winner: Trick Williams, by pinfall

A hard fought fight, and a hard fought victory for the former NXT Champion! But he also shows true respect to Cedric with a handshake. Trick wants back after All Ego and the title, will he have to put in even more work to- WAIT! Dunne attacks from behind!? The fans boo but the Bruiserweight shrugs. Dunne gets in the ring to BOOT Trick down, then DRAGON STOMPS away on him! The fans boo more, but Dunne lets off with one more STOMP! Dunne tells Trick he still hasn’t figured it out! Another STOMP, and Dunne stands over Trick. Another shrug from Dunne, is the former NXT UK Champion looking to take that title shot for his own?

Robert Stone and Stevie Turner argue.

Ethan Page walks over and asks if he can talk to Ava Raine. Stone says sorry, Stevie wasted all of Ava’s time because Stevie doesn’t shut up. Stevie says that’s a lie. What can Stevie do for the champ? Stone says to address him properly as THE NXT Champion. Ethan says he just wants to get rid of that pest, Oro. Yeah, don’t worry, they all saw Ethan beat Dante Chen and not the other part. Stevie, do not lie to the champion! Everyone watches NXT, so everyone knows what happened. The world is trending- The world!? Stevie tries not to laugh at Stone stepping in it, but Stone says Ethan should be grateful that he’s lucky to be champion.

Ethan is lucky to be champion? N-NO, they, uh… NXT is lucky that Ethan is their champion. Stevie says what Stone’s getting at is, could you just imagine if Oro Mensah was NXT Champion? Hypothetically. Stone will pass the word along that Ethan thanked Ava. Stevie will doubly pass it along. Ethan sighs and leaves, the assistants to the GM continue to argue, will anything even get done around here?

Kelani Jordan talks with prospects backstage.

One brings up Tatum Paxley’s post. She is using dolls to represent herself and… Kelani? And then Wendy Choo walks in from the other room… What is going on here? Kelani isn’t sure but she’s getting creeped out. Then Ashante hobbles in and the others help him walk. Is he going to be okay? Yeah, he’ll be aight. Ashante winks to the camera as he leaves with two ladies under his arms. One way or another, is Ashante gonna have some fun in NXT?

Sol Ruca & Karmen Petrovic VS Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson!

The Surfer and the Blackbelt were told they’d be “handled” by Meta Four, so here’s their chance! Will the Bougie Bully & Miss Jackson back up their talk with actions? Or will these “rookies” ride a wave of momentum right past them?

NXT returns, Meta Four has made their entrance, and the teams sort out. Karmen starts against Jakara, and Jakara DROPKCIKS at the bell! The fans are torn, but Karmen gets up in a huff. Jakara avoids the leg sweep, headlocks, but Karmen pries free to KICK low! Karmen whips Jakara hard to the corner, tags in Sol, and then Karmen snapmares Jakara to kick, KICK and Sol STANDING MOONSAULTS! Cover, ONE!! Jakara is tougher than that but Sol clamps on with a straitjacket stretch. Jakara endures, fights up, but Sol ripcords to kick low. Sol whips, Jakara ducks ‘n’ EDGE-O-MATIC! Cover, TWO!

Trick Williams talks with HBK!

Shawn Michaels tries to calm Trick down but Trick says he’s trying to get back to the NXT Championship. But best believe, if Pete Dunne drops him again, Trick’s gonna bust Pete’s ass! HBK says okay, he’s got this. Trick heads out, and then Roxanne Perez storms in! Why does Thea Hail get the special interview and not her?! Is it because Thea’s some scrappy little underdog? Roxie is sick of that sob story, and she’s sick of not getting what she deserves as champion! HBK says okay, but- Roxie storms off, and HBK has us go to break. Will he and Ava have to talk about all the chaos and drama going on around here?

Joe Hendry speaks.

After a recap of his great appearance last week, Hendry himself says, “With every passing week, more and more of the planet starts to believe. Believe in Joe Hendry. But becoming a social media sensation doesn’t just happen over night.” Hendry has been surprising his fans all across the world, their reactions being a big part of the buzz. Sure, Hendry’s popularity has really caught fire thanks to NXT, but he’s been doing this for 11 YEARS, just waiting for his time to shine. He always knew he had the kill and athleticism to succeed, but in 2024, how do you stand out? Easy: create an image that is impossible to escape.

Say his name and he appears…! Becoming the most talked about man in pro-wrestling has of course upset some people, such as Gallus, but don’t think that his sudden rise to fame was an accident. After putting in 10,000 plus hours mastering the ring, the studio, and social media, there is no one left on Planet Earth that hasn’t seen his turn to camera and smiling face. The public couldn’t get enough, and #IBelieveInJoeHendry soon took the fourth spot on the British music charts and beyond. The entire world is waving their arms from side to side with him, and it is his life’s work to become 250 pounds of inspiration.

So for the first time in NXT history, we will witness one of Hendry’s world famous live concerts. Bring your best singing voices and let’s remind the WWE Universe and beyond why you believe in Joe Hendry.

NXT Media catches up with Gallus.

The reporter asks what they feel about- Joe Coffey stops them there. He already knows, they wanna talk about Joe Hen- Mark stops his brother, They can’t say his name. But see, Gallus didn’t like that guy then, they don’t like him now, and Wolfgang adds that that Muppet needs “a right kicking” from the Gallus firm. So how’s about this, Joe? Next week, Coffey VS Hendry, Great American Bash! Mark spots a poster and says he isn’t so sure now. Joe Hendry, live in concert on NXT? Coffey is FURIOUS! No one wants to hear this garbage! Wait, who put all these posters on their car?! This fraud has done it now!

Cartoonish as Gallus’ reaction is, will they look to ruin everyone’s fun when Joe Hendry comes back to NXT?

Ethan Page returns to Ava’s office.

He wants to knock on the door but then spots a ref. Ethan calls the ref over and says refs represent law and order around here, right? So this whole thing with Oro, that doesn’t count, right? No, it wasn’t an official match, so technically it doesn’t. Ethan says good! He’s coming with Ethan. Ethan brings the ref along, but is he starting to unravel over this Oro issue?

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn respond via tweets.

Isla says, “The Brightest Stars in the Galaxy are about to be dimmed. Lash and Jakara, consider your challenge accepted.” Alba adds, “See you ladies next week at The Bash.” The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions are coming back to NXT, but will they be leaving still the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions?

Ethan and his ref are now ringside.

The fans boo but Ethan says they need to address this whole 1-2-3 business. What Oro did last week does NOT count, okay? It was NOT official, it is null and void! And for the record, let’s make this very, very clear: none of this bothers him! Even so, the fans chant “You Got Pinned!” Ethan says ignore them, they’re ignorant. Now, referee, as a licensed WWE official, when Oro attacked last week, was he or any of his colleagues here to make the count? The ref says, as he just said backstage, it was not a legitimate match so the count wasn’t official. SEE!? Ethan was right! He was RIGHT! No one was in the ring to count 1-2-3, so it doesn’t count~!

Honestly, refs are usually pains in the ass, but this guy’s alright. But then Oro runs in here! He rolls Ethan, the ref counts, Oro pins the champ!! Ethan is losing his mind but fans chant “ONE TWO THREE! ONE TWO THREE!” Will Ethan ever live this down? Or is there only one way for him to finally put this to rest?

The D’Angelo Family talks backstage.

And look who it is! The men of the hour! Tony didn’t think Charlie had it in him. Not so clean, is he? But Tony respects it. Don’t flatter Charlie, he still wants the Heritage Cup. Well, Tony is a generous man. The Olympics are coming up, so Tony will give the NQCC’s Olympian a shot. Who? Tavion? Yes, Tavion! Luca points out that Tavion represented our great country in the 2020 games. Greco-Roman wrestling, even got himself a few wins. Unlike the one who got whooped by that girl, Kendall. Myles is flustered, but Tony says see you next week, Tavion. Tavion says he definitely will. Will The Don check off another of the NQCC? Or is Tavion about to take the Cup to new heights?

Six Man Tag: The Rascalz VS Axiom, Nathan Frazer & Je’Von Evans!

Wes Lee, Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel have reunited and it feels so good! A big win against Gallus last Tuesday, a big win over the No Quarter Catch Crew as part of TNA’s Slammiversary, this reunion tour is just getting started! Will it continue as we approach the Great American Bash? Or will the NXT Tag Team Champions & Young OG show just what #NeverSlowDown is all about?

NXT returns as Frazer & Axiom make their entrance, followed by Je’Von’s. The trios sort out and Axiom starts against Trey. They circle, tie up, and Axiom uses a chinbar to wrangle Trey. Trey fights up, wrenches, and headlocks back. Axiom flips up and over to facelock Trey. Axiom shifts to wrap Trey in a straitjacket but Trey fights up to arm-drag free. Things speed up, Trey catches Axiom with a reverse wheelbarrow and rolls him down, only for Axiom to kip up. Axiom arm-drags but Trey handsprings, only for Axiom to DROPKICK! The fans cheer, Axiom tags Frazer and whips Trey. Trey reverses but Axiom reels him in for an IRON OCTOPUS!

Frazer gets moving and he builds up a lot of speed, to DROPKICK Trey down! The fans fire up, Trey goes to a corner, but Frazer CHOPS! The fans fire up while Frazer flounders away. But Je’Von tags in, and the fans rally for the Young OG as he circles with Wes. Wes whips, Je’Von reverses then hurdles. Wes front flips over Je’Von, sidesteps then hurdles, but Je’Von stops the monkey flip to stand Wes up. Je’Von springboards but Wes gets under! Je’Von ducks the knees, then BOUNCY RANAS! Wes tumbles and the fans fire up! Je’Von DROPKICKS Wes down and the fans fire up again. Je’Von drags Wes up, whips him to the corner, but Wes blocks! Wes whips Je’Von to the RSCL corner, runs in, but Trey moves as Je’Von tosses Wes up and out! Wes ENZIGIRIS back, slingshots and DROPKICKS! Zach tags in, runs up, BRONCO BUSTER! Zach adds a few extra bounces for the bouncy Je’Von! Axiom storms in but Wes SUPERKICKS! Frazer storms in and dodges Wes. Wes blocks a kick but not the ENZIGIRI! Trey runs up but Frazer CHOPS! Trey kips up to ENZIGIRI! Axiom is up, he dodges Trey, but DOUBLE ROUNDHOUSES take them both out!

Zach checks his boys, but Je’Von rolls him up! TWO and Zach runs up. Je’Von dodges, comes back, Zach ducks so Je’Von FLIES out onto everyone else! The fans are thunderous and Zach is stunned! But then Zach goes up and up and ASAI MOONSAULTS onto Team NXT! The fans fire up with Zach, and NXT goes picture in picture.

The Rascalz regroup, drag Je’Von up and in, then bring him to the corner. Zach CHOPS, then runs up to UPPERCUT! Tag to Wes and he runs in to UPPERCUT! Wes tags Trey, then snapmares Je’Von so Tre can slingshot SENTON! Tag to Zach, he slingshot SENTONS! Tag to Wes and he slingshot KNEE-TONS! Cover, TWO! Je’Von toughs it out but Wes drags him up. Wes throws body shots, then whips Je’Von to ropes. Wes ELBOWS Je’Von down, covers, TWO! Wes keeps close to Je’Von, brings him around, and tags Zach. They bring Je’Von around, whip and DOUBLE ELBOW! Then they split the wishbone!

Je’Von sits up, MSK DOUBLE BASEMENT DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Zach keeps Je’Von down with a chinlock, but Je’Von endures the grind. NXT returns to single picture and the fans rally up. Je’Von fights but Zach leans on the hold. Je’Von stands, throws hands, but Zach CLUBS him down. Zach whips Je’Von to a corner, Je’Von goes up and over! Zach still BOOTS first! Zach goes up, leaps, CROSSBODY! But Je’Von rolls through! The bouncy turns into power, and he POWERSLAMS! Hot tag to Frazer, and he springboards to AX HANDLE! Then STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO!

Frazer checks the count but the count was fair, so he brings Zach around. Frazer drops an elbow, tags Axiom, and Axiom stomps Zach. Axiom clamps on a chinlock, the fans rally up, and Axiom traps Zach in a cobra clutch. Zach endures, fights up, but Axiom whips him away. Zach ELBOWS Frazer, BOOTS Axiom, and hurries for his corner! Axiom waistlocks to anchor Zach, then slips on a SLEEPER! Axiom drags Zach down, the fans rally up, and Zach fights up. Zach pries the hold open to ELBOW BREAKER! But Axiom LARIATS! Tag to Frazer, GAMANGIRI! Then GERMAN SUPLEX! Tag to Je’Von, TRIPLE SUPERKICKS take Zach down! Cover, TWO!!

Je’Von is frustrated but the fans rally up. Je’Von clamps on with a straitjacket stretch of his own, and Zach endures again. Zach fights up, pries the hold open, but Je’Von trips him by a leg! Zach hops up, but Je’Von ducks the enzigiri! Zach still UP KICKS! Axiom grabs a leg for an ANKLE LOCK! Zach hops up and rolls, and he sends Axiom into Je’Von! Frazer tags in, springboards, into a JUMP KNEE!! Zach and Frazer are down, and the fans rally up again! Zach and Frazer crawl, hot tags to Je’Von and Wes! Wes CLOBBERS Je’Von, CLOBBERS him again, and then sweeps the legs! Je’Von avoids the stomps but Wes fires a strike fest!

Wes snapmares Je’Von to DROPKICK! The fans fire up, Wes runs in and ROCKS Je’Von! And a SUPERKICK! GAMANGIRI! Tag to Trey, Axiom runs in, but Wes & Trey get him first! Winners: The Rascalz, by pinfall

Another incredible win for the reunited Rascalz, and perhaps even bigger is that Zach just pinned one of the NXT Tag Team Champions! Could these must-see kids be fighting to get those tag titles back? All six men stand together in the ring, and they all shake hands in respect.

Ava Raine talks with a ref.

She knows a lot has been going on, but- In steps Ethan Page. And he says whatever this is, put a pin in it, because he is done! He needs Oro, wants Oro, in a match! Ava says hi, how are you, Ethan? But what changed his mind? Because he was very against this idea last week. What changed is he has had it up to HERE…! And someone like Ethan shouldn’t have to deal with something like this. Ethan wants to put an end to this, and he’ll even put the title on the line! Okay then! A contract will be drafted, they will sign it next week, so that on week two of the Great American Bash, it will be Ethan VS Oro for the NXT Championship. Ethan says good, but is he playing right into Oro’s hands?

My Thoughts:

Another great NXT, but also another jam packed episode. It also had go-home vibes given Great American Bash is the next two weeks. Eddy VS Lexis was good but rather quick, and with Lexis attacking Eddy after losing, we’re definitely escalating this towards something bigger. Very good promo from Chase U to help set up Thea’s interview promo, which was a good promo. Thea seemed a bit nervous about her lines, but maybe that was how she was supposed to sound. Roxie getting upset and complaining to HBK was a rather quick bit, but it doesn’t feel like Roxie is losing the title just yet. With the hype behind Stephanie Vaquer, it’s probably her beating Roxie at No Mercy.

Speaking of, good plug for Stephanie while also getting us to a tag match. Lash & Jakara get a good win off of Sol & Karmen, and I’m a little surprised Alba & Isla are going to give them the tag title match. At the same time, that makes GAB bigger so they might as well. Alba & Isla still have a segment with Bianca & Jade this Friday, that’ll surely set up a later title match, so I’m pretty sure Alba & Isla retain against Lash & Jakara. A little surprised we didn’t get any Fallon, Jacy & Jazmyn, but I’m sure we’ll get plenty of them the next couple weeks. Six Woman Tag of Fallon, Jacy & Jazmyn VS Sol, Karmen & Lola is definitely week two of GAB.

This story with Wren and NQCC is still really interesting, but at least Wren’s getting into the role of blackmailing Dempsey. And in some way, it is funny that Dempsey trying to do things like Tony D has backfired on him pretty bad. But I have a feeling Dempsey comes around and accepts Wren as a true member of NQCC, Wren can be their counterpart to Rizzo for some Mixed Tag type matches. And Tony VS Tavion next week will be some good stuff for the Heritage Cup, and I would think Tony retains. I just want him to finally win by knockout. That’s a thing allowed by the rules but they haven’t had the guts to do it.

Very good promo from Joe Hendry, and very entertaining stuff from Gallus, but having them both is a little redundant. Gallus helps us know Hendry is having a concert next week, but we already knew that after Hendry told us. I would’ve just done one or the other, go to next week with the concert, and then Gallus does something to motivate Joe VS Joe for week two. That No Disqualification match was awesome stuff, but Spears’ white chair was certainly a Chekhov’s Gun level foreshadowing. Not only was it going to come into play, Spears himself was going to show up and spur Jensen on. Spears and Jensen are all but officially working together now, things are going to get even more interesting from here.

And really good stuff tonight with this growing NXT Championship story. One more redundant detail here with Cedric and Ashante talking about Trick backstage then talking with him on stage, we could’ve just had only the stuff in the ring and we’d get the same story. Trick VS Cedric was a great match, but that first half was maybe a bit too fast for both of them. That backflip Trick “avoids” was really more a botch. But great win for Trick, and Dunne going after Trick was only a little shocking after how we’ve seen Dunne turn Heel on Raw. But Trick VS Dunne is still going to be awesome stuff.

Oro gets a good win off Ashante, and Ethan getting closer and closer to snapping was some good stuff. Ethan VS Oro is going to be some great stuff for GAB week 2, but I would think Ethan retains. Trick making his way back up to a rematch with Ethan might seem a bit obvious but it’s also logical. No Mercy can be Trick’s last chance, so that if he loses, Trick moves on to main roster. Just not sure which brand, though. Raw’s got a lot going on, and SmackDown does have Carmelo Hayes, but I’m not sure they’d restart Trick VS Melo as a feud over there…

My Score: 8.8/10

Nick with the rebound and he scores! The Prodigy is back on top, will he keep making history with every win? Will Taguchi still make the finals after falling down?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 A Block: Ninja Mack VS Yoshinobu Kanemaru!

The American Ninja got lost on the Way to the Grandmaster, but the Heel Master put out the Crown of Fire. Can Mack scratch and claw and even backflip his way back up the block? Or will Kanemaru be toasting another win?

No real surprise that Kanemaru attacks Mack during his entrance! He BOOTS Mack off the apron, the fans boo and the ref reprimands, but Kanemaru stomps away! The Ticking Timebomb is struggling right now with his 1-3 start, but he’s still just a step behind #WarDogRacing. Will Hiromu finally make things more, more, MORE fun for everyone? Or will he self-destruct against 100 Proof?

Connors hoists up Wheel-san, and he CHUCKS it at Hiromu! Hiromu falls back down and Red Shoes reprimands. Connors lifts Wheel-san again, aims for Nyao-chan, but Hiromu TACKLES Connors! The fans cheer but Connors throws hands! And then he POSTS Hiromu! Connors grabs Wheel-san, and SLAMS it onto Nyao-chan! The fans boo but Connors soaks up that heat. Connors stalks Hiromu while Red Shoes returns Nyao-chan to the fan. Connors JAMS Hiromu up with Wheel-san! Hiromu flounders away, but Connors goes up an aisle through the crowd. Red Shoes reprimands, and then literally puts his foot down!

Connors is annoyed, and he shoves Red Shoes aside! But then Red Shoes sits on Wheel-san! Connors asks what Red Shoes thinks he’s doing, but Hiromu rolls Connors up! TWO, but Hiromu hurries to cradle! TWO, and Connors KNEES low! Connors reels Hiromu in, aims for Wheel-san, but Hiromu fights No Chaser! Hiromu snap suplexes Connors and narrowly misses Wheel-san! Connors still writhes and Hiromu grabs Wheel-san. Red Shoes reprimands, so Hiromu brings Wheel-san to the outside. Hiromu kisses Wheel-san and lets him chill on the outside. Hiromu says he doesn’t need Wheel-san to win!

Hiromu returns to Connors in the ring, puts him up top, and then CHOPS! Hiromu climbs up, brings Connors in, but Connors fights the suplex! Connors HEADBUTTS Hiromu, then slips underneath! Winner: Hiromu Takahashi, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Connors earns 0)

This was certainly a fast ‘n’ furious battle, but the hometown hero prevails! Will Connors buff out the dents with a much needed pitstop?

As for said hometown hero, Hiromu grabs the mic to say, “Clark- Oh, he’s gone. I guess he already took off. Darn it. Clark… No, I can’t join the War Dogs. It crossed my mind, but I’ve decided against it. Hachioji, I’M HOME~!” The fans cheer, and Hiromu says that was too tough! He can’t take this anymore. He’s exhausted already! His everything hurts! But… Those high-fives during his entrance gave him a spark so he’s thankful for that. “Hold on… I hear some big cheers. Perhaps some of my old classmates are here…? Raise your hand if you’re a classmate of mine from grade, middle or high school.” Wait, only four? Well, Hiromu thanks those four!

The fans applaud, and Hiromu says he is grateful to those four. He’ll be sure to invite more next year. But he’ll be serious here. He was 1-3 going into this round. A fan says, “Then win the rest!” Hiromu says yes, he knows, thank you. But that said, he saw socials being like, “Hiromu, are you quitting? Please don’t leave!” Things like that. “Will you follow Naito?” More things like that. He was planning on making this announcement after winning the Super Juniors on June 1st, but… He got permission from the office to go ahead and say it here in his hometown. The fans are curious, and Hiromu says that he hoped he could say this after winning.

“On June 1st, 2025, Hiromu Takahashi will leave NJPW.” What?! “PSYCHE!! Give me a break! Why would I quit just because I lost three matches?! I lost those three matches just because I was outclassed!” The fans applaud and Hiromu says don’t forget, he’s an optimist! He’s been through a lot in his 15 year career and don’t quite a lot! He’s still here now! When he joined NJPW, he had two peers. They were stronger before their debuts, he couldn’t beat either of them! One was Bad Luck Fale! The other… Hiromu forgets that guy’s name. But those were the only two!

Hiromu went on excursion, experienced a whole lot, came back, broke his neck, went through even more struggles! He’s lost and struggled again and again and again! The fans cheer that, and Hiromu says that he is still super positive! Can El Desperado hear Hiromu? On opening night, Despy said the two were destined forever rivals! That’s a given! The fans cheer that! Hiromu tells Despy that if it’s not them in the finals, then it won’t be any fun! The fans also like the sound of that. Hiromu says of course one has to be prepared and aware. It is important to talk about protecting NJPW, leading NJPW, caring for NJPW…!

BUT! Just saying it isn’t enough in this world! Hiromu says as long as he is here, NJPW IS the best! The fans cheer that! Hiromu says let’s work together and play our part. The other wrestlers, the staff, let’s all do our best! The fans cheer more, and Hiromu says he may have said too much already. He’s won three of these tournaments in a row, but he won’t be one who relies on past glory. Even today’s victory is already in the past! Being the strongest, strongest, strongest, STRONGEST is important, and he’ll enjoy the BOSJ more than anyone! The fans cheer and Hiromu says that’s right! Moto! Moto! Moto! MOTO! MOTO!

Oh, hey, Takagi-san. Hiromu admits their eyes met just now. Hiromu says he wants to keep working with Takagi and Yota, and the fans cheer. MOTO! MOTO! MOTO!! MOTO!! MOTO!!! MOTO!!! FUN TOGETHER WITH EVERYONE~!! The fans cheer and Hiromu finally drops the mic. But will the Ticking Timebomb still come out on top of the block? How much more effort will it take to once again be the Best of the Super Juniors?

My Thoughts:

Another great round for NJPW BOSJ, but I am thankful they’re pulling back for the next couple of shows. A Block has now split between the 3-2 and the 2-3 groups. That makes it really interesting to pick out a finalist. I do appreciate them letting Kushida turn things around from his surprising 0-2 start. Nick Wayne still leading B Block is some good stuff, too, I continue to look forward to how far he goes. I like that the House of Torture members both lost because of mask shenanigans. And an awesome main event for Hiromu to win in his hometown. Hiromu stays afloat in the ranks, and he had a great swerve in the promo. He could definitely have one of the biggest comebacks in BOSJ to go from 1-3 to the finals, and go for a historic fifth trophy.

My Score: 9/10

Best of the Super Juniors 32 A Block: Master Wato VS Ninja Mack!

The Way of the Grandmaster lost to the Japanese Young Punk, but the American Ninja got sent back by the Time Splitter. Who will only continue to spiral while the other rises to 2-2?

The bell rings and the fans rally up. Mack offers a handshake, Wato takes it, and the fans applaud. The two circle, tie up, and are in a deadlock. Wato’s slight height advantage helps, and he pushes Mack to a corner. Mack turns things around, the ref calls the break, and Mack lets go slowly, but with a big Ninja “OSU!” Wato is wary, but the fans rally with “NINJA! NINJA!” Mack and Wato tie up again, and Wato puts Mack in the corner this time. The ref counts, Wato lets off slowly, and he gives his own “Osu!” Mack applauds that, and the fans cheer for “WATO! WATO!” Mack is surprised, but he and Wato reset.

The two tie up yet again, and Wato waistlocks. Wato goes for a half nelson, Mack fights it, so Wato spins him to a cravat. Wato snapmares Mack, clamps on with a chinlock, but Mack fights up. Wato hits a takeover, Mack headscissors, Wato kips free, and the fans cheer the standoff. The two tie up again, Wato waistlocks again, and he SLAMS Mack down! Mack fights around, scoots forward, but Wato keeps him from the ropes. Mack drops to slip out the back! Mack waistlocks now, and he THROWS Wato up and out! Wato hops down to the floor, Mack handsprings, but wait, where’d Wato go? Wato pulls a ninja disappearing act!

Mack looks for Wato, checks under the ring, but doesn’t find him. Wait, Wato returns, wearing a Ninja Mack style mask! He is now NINJA WATO! The fans fire up and Mack sees this on the tron! The ninjas turn to see each other with their own eyes! The fans rally as Wato and Mack circle the outside, then step into the ring. Mack asks, “Naze? (Why?)” Mack and Wato take fighting stances and circle. Wato blocks Mack’s attacks and HADOUKEN DOUBLE PUNCHES! Mack tumbles out, Wato builds speed, and Wato FLIES! Down goes Mack and the fans cheer the tope conjilo! Wato goes back for Mack, puts him in, and then aims from the apron.

The fans rally but Mack SUPERKICKS first! Wato falls back, Mack builds speed, and he handsprings for the NINJA SPECIAL PLUS!! He goes up the ramp, but Wato avoids the kick! Wato fires hands but Mack blocks to HADOUKEN! Then he runs up, but Wato dodges! Mack dodges a boot, Wato dodges a knee, and Wato runs for the ring! Mack shouts “GET OVER HERE!” Mack runs up, Wato puts him on the apron, and Wato blocks the kick! Wato THROWS Mack, but Mack FLIPS through! The fans fire up and Wato thinks it’s for him. But then Mack SUPERKICKS Wato down! The fans fire up again as Mack brings Wato around.

Mack DOUBLE CHOPS Wato, the fans rally up, and Mack takes Wato’s mask! Wato pretends he has to hide his face, and fans boo, they liked Ninja Wato. Mack lets English commentary hold onto that mask for him, and then he puts Wato in the ring. Mack then brings Wato up to KICK, KICK, and KICK! Mack powers up and- NO, Wato blocks that kick, spins Wato, but then Mack kicks low! Mack reels Wato in, lifts, but Wato sunset flips through! TWO, the fans fire up, and Mack SUPERKICKS! Wato goes to a corner, Mack runs, but Wato BOOTS him! Mack ducks the roundhouse, ducks the heel kick, but Wato dodges the leg sweep!

Mack dodges the spin kick, to then hit a SHURIKEN SPIN KICK! Cover, TWO! Wato stays in this and the fans rally! Mack covers again, TWO! Mack is frustrated but the fans still rally. Mack puts Wato in the drop zone, CHOPS him, then goes up the corner! The fans rally as Mack aims, NINJA BOMB onto knees!! Wato then catches Mack into VENDEVAL!! Mack flails, reaches out, moves around, breaks fere, but Wato uses a rolling cradle! VENDEVAL!! Mack TAPS, Wato wins!!

Winner: Master Wato, by submission (gains 2 points; Mack earns 0)

Just as waves break on the shore, Wato breaks even with this win! But can Wato continue to turn the tide and rise to the top? Will Ninja Mack still have a chance though he is 1-3?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 B Block: Ryusuke Taguchi VS YOH!

The Funky Weapon outsmarted Sho and the House of Torture while Direct Drive grounded The Jet. But will Taguchi play it serious with Yoh? Or are things about to get stranger and stranger?

The bell rings and Taguchi runs up to HIP ATTACK! And then HIP ATTACK in the corner! Taguchi whips, Yoh reverses, but Taguchi BOOTS him! Taguchi goes up to headscissors for DEADLY BUTT SHADE! Yoh wobbles and falls back, and Taguchi shouts out Tomoaki Honma! Taguchi runs, wiggles, and KOKESHI! The fans fire up and Yoh spasms! Yoh flounders away and even Taguchi isn’t sure what to make of that. Taguchi sees Yoh is on the ropes, and he runs to 619, but Yoh dodges! Taguchi gets caught up in the ropes! The ref checks Taguchi while he flops to the mat. Yoh checks Taguchi’s pulse and says the doc should check him.

The ref starts a standing count and the fans rally up. Taguchi is still down at 4 of 10, slowly turns over, and the fans rally harder as we pass 7! Taguchi is still down at 8, but he rises at 9! Then Yoh kicks him and whips him to the corner. Yoh ELBOWS Taguchi, turns him and hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! The fans cheer but Taguchi is still feeling the pain down low. Yoh hammers out Taguchi’s back, perhaps like a massage, before he STOMPS it! Yoh stands Taguchi up but Taguchi fires body shots! Taguchi runs, HIP ATTACK into an atomic drop! Yoh runs, but into a HIP ATTACK! The fans rally and Taguchi has Yoh on ropes again.

Taguchi runs, HIP ATTACKS, then runs back in for a HIP ATTACK! Then a slide and APRON HIP ATTACK! The fans cheer, Taguchi covers, TWO! The fans rally and Taguchi drags Yoh up. Taguchi suplexes for Uno Amigo! Then he suplexes again, Dos Amigos! Yoh fights the third, but Taguchi fights Yoh’s suplex! GOURD BUSTER! The fans fire up and Taguchi rolls to the corner! Taguchi calls upon the powers of Strange Style! “ORYA~!” KETSUYE! Then Taguchi hauls Yoh up, chicken wings, DODON- NO, Yoh victory rolls it! TWO, and Taguchi rolls it back! TWO and Yoh has it again, TWO! Both men stand, things speed up, and Yoh sunsets, but Taguchi stays up!

Taguchi PANTSES himself, but Yoh fights that off! But Taguchi still HIP DROPS, only for Yoh to dodge! Taguchi is down but Yoh gets the legs, and he puts Taguchi in a PARADISE LOCK!! The fans fire up but this isn’t quite the view anyone wants… Taguchi is stuck with his cheeks hanging out, and Yoh fires up! Yoh tunes up, the fans rally, and Yoh SUPERKICKS Taguchi out of Paradise! Yoh drags Taguchi up, underhooks, but Taguchi fights Direct Drive! The rope helps censor Taguchi running, but Yoh bypasses and bypasses! Yoh uses Taguchi’s trick, but Taguchi reverses to bypass Yoh again and again!

Taguchi then dodges, fakes Yoh out, and BARE HIP ATTACKS! But Yoh says I’LL BE BACK, only for Taguchi to dodge the kick and ENZIGIRI! The fans fire up while both men are down! Taguchi pulls his pants up, chicken wings the arms, DODON BUSTER!! And then BARE BUTT COVER!! Taguchi wins!!

Winner: Ryusuke Taguchi, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Yoh earns 0)

That indeed was very strange, but it was oddly exciting, too! Taguchi scores big on the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, but will he keep going until he has the trophy in hand? Will Yoh be able to stay fresh despite dropping to 1-3?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 A Block: Francesco Akira VS Yoshinobu Kanemaru!

The Crown of Fire burns bright after the huge main event win over Hiromu Takahashi last night. However, you can never count the Heel Master out, even if he is 1-2. Will Kanemaru be able to cheat his way to redemption? Or will he not be able to handle this Fireball?

But as Akira gets his introductions, Kanemaru attacks! The fans boo but Kanemaru knocks Akira off the corner, goes out and kicks him! And then POSTS him! The ref reprimands, the fans rally for Akira, but Kanemaru drags him up. Kanemaru puts Akira in, the bell rings, and Kanemaru is on Akira in the corner. Kanemaru whips corner to corner, runs up, but into a BOOT! Akira runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then RANAS! Kanemaru tumbles, the fans fire up, and Akira aims. PLANCHA but on a Young Lion! Kanemaru uses that guy as a shield, then he BOOTS Akira down! Kanemaru SMASHES Akira’s knee of the floor!

The fans rally for Akira but Kanemaru brings him up. Kanemaru puts Akira in the ring, drags him up, and whips him to ropes. Kanemaru dropkicks the legs out! Akira writhes, Kanemaru grabs the leg and steps through, FIGURE FOUR! Akira scrambles and drags Kanemaru along, ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer but Kanemaru holds on. The ref pries the hold apart and Akira crawls to a corner. The fans rally and Kanemaru stalks Akira. Kanemaru grabs the leg and hits a SHIN BREAKER! The Rogue Luchador has lost twice in a row, but that really only proved him right that anyone can win any given match. The Idol Warrior is coming off a loss of his own, can he rebound with a massive main event win? Or will Desperado prove he’s still the Best of the Super Juniors?

Red Shoes says no, fight in the ring.

The fans boo, they want things outside the ring. Mao says hold on, this is the main event, they really should do this in the ring. The fans applaud as both men return to the ring, to then go back outside! The fans cheer, the two run up, and they RAM! And RAM! And then RAM again! Despy bounces off, Mao is truly Tsukakui! Mao then brings Despy around to whip, but Despy reverses. Mao handstands on the apron and hops over Despy, to then BOOT him! Mao goes to the apron, lines up the shot, and runs to CANNONBALL! The fans fire up and Mao stands tall, TSUKAKUI! Red Shoes insists they get this in the ring, so Mao stands Despy up.

Mao ROCKS Despy with a right, and the ring count starts. Mao throws more hands, but Despy BODY BLOWS! Mao staggers to the ramp, Despy ROCKS Mao, but we’re past 10 of 20! Despy says no no no! “Despy Jinai!” Red Shoes stirs, the Young Lions help him exit the ring, and now Mao and Despy aren’t sure what to do. Mao apologizes either way, and the Young Lions carry Red Shoes away. Mao says now we can go wild! Mao goes looking under the ring, and he brings out plastic tubs! The DDT Pro style gets to shine here in NJPW! Despy helps bring the tubs into the ring, but he also kinda hordes them in his corner. Mao says bet, and he SMASHES a tub on Despy’s head! Despy grins as he shakes off the pieces. His turn! SMASH on Mao’s head! Mao smiles and nods, and he grabs another tub.

The fans rally as Despy and Mao set these tubs up in a nice rectangle, and Mao dares Despy to go up. Despy obliges, and both men climb. The fans cheer as the CHOPS begin! Winner: El Desperado, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Mao earns 0)

These two kindred spirits battled in the longest match of the tournament so far, and perhaps in the wildest match we’ll get all tournament long! And in the end, THE Junior Heavyweight Champion prevails! Will the star of DDT still manage to shine in the latter half of this tournament?

As for Desperado, after catching his breath and standing back up, he’s given the belt and has his hand raised. Then he hurries to get the mic as Mao exits the ring. The fans chant for Mao, and Despy says, “Uh-oh. You just won over some NJPW fans.” The fans applaud, and Despy says, “That was thrilling! Thank you, Mao.” Mao takes a bow then makes his exit to the back. Despy says, “Superstars like that don’t come around so easily. DDT, thank you.” The fans applaud, and Despy says while there are more league matches ahead, he was really looking forward to this one.

Despy also knows the other NJPW wrestlers will continue to go hard at Mao. “I’m worried about whether they can do it. Heads up, I was almost sucked in. That was insane. But that’s what makes him being here worthwhile.” The fans applaud that. Despy continues by saying, “I love Super Juniors more than anything. I’m doing what I can to make this everyone’s favorite series. All the guys are. To borrow a phrase from Hikaru Sato, the juniors will not bow down to the heavyweights.” The fans applaud that, too! Despy says, “People keep yapping about a changing of the guard, age, careers, all that nonsense.

“You think because I have the belt, I’m going to be rushed into the argument? Just get outta my way. Make it happen or don’t. That’s that! New generation? Current generation? Now they’re talking about a super and hyper generation? I’m not really sure, but whatever. Just make it happen. If you don’t win, that’s on you. Laters.” Despy drops the mic having upped the ante, will he prove he’s still THE Best of the Super Juniors?

Master Wato: 2-2, 4 points
KUSHIDA: 2-2, 4 points
Hiromu Takahashi: 1-3, 2 points

Here are the NEW B Block standings!

Nick Wayne: 3-1, 6 points
Titan: 3-1, 6 points
Ryusuke Taguchi: 3-1, 6 points
El Desperado: 2-2, 4 points
MAO: 2-2, 4 points
SHO: 2-2, 4 points
Robbie Eagles: 2-2, 4 points

My Thoughts:

Another great round for NJPW, some great surprises to go with it. Wato VS Mack was really fun with the mask gag, and it’s been a minute since Taguchi won with butt antics quite like that. I do wonder if Kushida VS Fujita finish was a botch, though. Fujita kinda sorta kicked out but the cradle stayed put, and the ref tried to say something, but his initial count was what counted. Even so, Kushida winning felt like the right choice anyway, he should stay afloat a bit longer to really up the stakes in A Block. Plus, it works that both guys leading the blocks take their first losses here, as Nick loses to Kevin. With Kevin and Nick both being AEW, maybe this sets up an ROH World TV Championship story when this tournament is over.

And of course, awesome stuff in the last two matches, as usual. Dia getting the win over Hiromu is great stuff for Dia, especially as a Dragon Gate guy. Despy VS Mao going extreme with the DDT Pro plastic tubs was fun, and it was still a great match besides. Despy getting a win works, he needed to get back up after giving out those golden tickets to Taiji and Nick. Despy’s promo was good, just like his previous, and I do appreciate he is kinda daring everyone/anyone/someone to actually prove they’re the next big thing. That kinda adds more to every match he has left in this round robin, especially when facing guys of the younger NJPW classes.

My Score: 9/10
