After a Disney-caused delay of one week, Musical Chairs is back to give you another trip down Musical Memory Lane. Dave again brought in DJ to help this week, and the guys did not disappoint as they focused on two more iconic and unforgettable acts from the annals of music history.  On 08/15/2024, we lost Jack Russell, the lead singer of Great White, and DJ honored him by taking an in-depth look at one of the heavy hitters from the hair metal era of rock. A horrifically tragic event sometimes makes it easy to forget how good Great White was. Well, DJ reminds us how awesome they were and how two smash-hit records in 1987 and 1989 put the boys on the map in a big way. Meanwhile, Dave focused on Dream Theater, one of the early pillars of the 90’s prog rock movement. Like Rush two decades earlier, Dream Theater earned its musical independence thanks to an innovative and excellent concept album. Known for their complex musical style and very long songs, Dream Theater created a perfect convergence of prog rock and thrash metal that has endured for over 30 years. So, tune in again this week and learn a little bit about two more excellent bands!
