TJP & Francesco Akira got caught in a shocking loss last night against #RoppongiRevise in the main event, and they’ve got a short turnaround now that they’re opening round three. Will the United Empire be able to conquer London & Paris? Or will the Groovy Gladiator & Spartan Spirit rebel against them?

The teams sort out, and after some deliberation, The VeloCities DOUBLE DROPKICK Catch 2/2! The fans are torn, but the bell rings, and Jude London climbs while Paris De Silva sets up TJP! PIP PIP CHEERIO! Paris covers, but Akira returns to break it! London stomps Akira, then The VeloCities double whip. They both hurdle, then drop toehold and basement dropkick! TJP staggers up, London runs, handspring and STUNNER, into Paris’ GERMAN SUPLEX! TJP ends up on ropes, London hits a 619! Paris adds a SLIDING D! London is up top again, to DIVING DOUBLE STOMP! Paris covers again, TWO!!

Paris hears London calling, and he tags in. The VeloCities hobble over to Akira, fire forearms, and then Paris runs. But Akira ELBOWS London away! Paris dodges Akira’s lariat to waistlock, but TJP jumps in. Akira ducks so TJP can SUPERKICK Paris! Then TJP SOBATS London!

The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions have already split even in the tournament, but that just means things are looking up after last round. Will Kushida & Kevin Knight keep climbing until they’re at the top? Or will time mean nothing to Kamikaze & The Eternal?

The teams sort out and Knight starts against DKC. The fans rally as these NJPW Academy classmates meet again. They feel things out, DKC trips Knight, but Knight cradles DKC. Knight drags DKC from ropes, steps through for a toehold, but DKC rolls Knight to a cover. TWO, and Knight wrenches to an ELBOW BREAKER! Knight wristlocks, but DKC rolls, spins, and grabs a leg. DKC rolls Knight but Knight shifts his weight to have a cover on DKC, TWO! The fans cheer as the two reset. They tie up, are in a deadlock, but Knight uses his height as leverage. They tie up, Kushida wrenches to hammerlock, and he wrangles DKC to the mat. Tag to Knight, he takes DKC’s arm and wrenches. Knight CLUBS the arm, tags Kushida, and Kushida wrenches DKC again. Tag back to Knight, he wrenches again. The fans rally as Knight wrenches more, then YANKS the arm. Knight hands DKC off to Kushida for a wrench. Mack runs up, Knight kicks him, and adds him to the HOTSHOT!

The fans fire up and Knight covers DKC, TWO! The fans cheer, but Knight brings DKC up. Knight bumps DKC off Kushida’s boots, then tags Kushida in. Kushida drags DKC up, and bumps him off Knight’s boot! Knight plays innocent while Kushida brings DKC around. Kushida clamps on with a KNEE KILLER! DKC endures the leg scissors and he rolls to the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer while Kushida lets go. Kushida kicks DKC, pushes him around, but DKC fires body shots! DKC fires a forearm, but Kushida KICKS the leg! Kushida drags DKC back up, wrenches, then has the leg, SHIN BREAKER! DKC goes to ropes while fans applaud.

Kushida drags DKC up but DKC KNEES free! And ENZIGIRIS! DKC crawls while Kushida is down! The fans rally up, Kushida grabs at DKC’s leg, but DKC kicks free! Hot tag to Mack! Taguchi takes off the hat to reveal he has something written on his forehead, too! Is that X or a third eye? The teams sort out, but The House attacks! The fans boo but Sho TOSSES Dia, and Kanemaru CHOKES Taguchi with the torn shirt! The bell rings, Sho CLAWS Taguchi’s eyes, and the ref counts. Sho stops, he and Kanemaru whip Taguchi to a corner. Kanemaru then whips Taguchi to Sho, but Taguchi HIP ATTACKS! Kanemaru kicks low, runs, but into a HIP ATTACK!

The fans fire up, Taguchi runs and HIP ATTACKS Kanemaru at the ropes! Then HIP ATTACK for Sho! And back to Kanemaru! And back to Sho! Taguchi then slides out to APRON HIP Kanemaru! Robbie stays on Rocky with a wrench, and he tags Taiji back in. Taiji KICKS the arm, and Rocky reaches for his corner. Yoh is still down, so Taiji pulls the arm around the ropes! The ref counts, Taiji lets go at 4, and the fans rally up. Rocky fires forearms on Taiji! Taiji kicks low, and then he gut wrenches. Rocky slips free, ducks under, but Taiji blocks a kick! Tilt-o-whirl DDT, into a LARIAT!! Robbie sputters and flounders, and RPG Revise get him back up.

Yoh suplexes, Rocky is there for a Canadian Rack! Yoh runs, DOMINATOR NECKBREAKER! Cover, but Taiji barrels through Yoh to break it! The fans fire up and Robbie bails out while the others stand. The fans cheer as LIJ fist bump, and the Ichiban Sweet Boys “light the fire.” Fujita starts against Bushi and the fans rally up with the bell. Fujita has the stronger support as the two tie up. Fujita puts Bushi on ropes, Bushi turns things around, but Fujita turns things back around. Red Shoes counts, Fujita lets off slowly, but then CHOPS! The fans cheer, but Bushi fires a forearm. The Ichiban Sweet Boys double whip, DOUBLE ELBOW, then they split the wishbone! DOUBLE KICK SANDWICH! Cover, TWO! Hiromu stays in this but Robbie covers again, TWO! The fans cheer, Red Shoes counts, and Bushi lounges until 4. Bushi tags Hiromu, and Hiromu brings Fujita up. Hiromu CHOPS and Fujita goes to a corner. Hiromu runs corner to corner to LARIAT, then snapmare and basement DROPKICK! Cover, Robbie breaks it! Hiromu TOSSES Robbie, then goes back to Fujita. Hiromu brings Fujita up, but Fujita CHOPS! Hiromu eggs Fujita on so Fujita CHOPS, and CHOPS! Hiromu CHOPS again! Hiromu whips, Fujita reverses, and Fujita GAMANGIRIS! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Fujita rolls, hot tag to Robbie! Hiromu dodges the springboard but Robbie BLASTS Bushi!

Robbie runs, into a cheap shot from Bushi! Bushi steps in, LIJ double whips but Robbie reverses. Bushi goes to ropes, Robbie knees Hiromu low, and then he sends Hiromu into Bushi! Hiromu falls, Robbie mule kicks Bushi! Robbie runs, BLINDSIDE LARIAT BASEMENT DROPKICK COMBO! The fans fire up and Robbie brings Hiromu up. Robbie hooks Hiromu, but Hiromu fights the backpack! Yesterday, the War Dogs, big damage. But… We get back up, we rise to the occasion, and we go tour win back tonight!” Fans applaud that, too. Robbie says ZSJ started us off with winning the G1 Climax and then the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Shane & Mikey are holding it down as both IWGP Heavyweight & NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions.

But the Ichiban Sweet Boys, they want trophies! They wanna win Super Junior Tag League! And they will do that by topping The A Block, the spot they deserve. Now, Japanese Young Punk, if you would please. The fans cheer as Fujita takes the mic. Fujita says he knows some of them thought he was dead after yesterday’s match. Well, he’s no dead! He’s a pro-wrestler, after all! And they are TMDK! The fans cheer that, and Fujita says, “We lost yesterday, but we’re not done yet! We will fight to the very end! Me and Robbie are taking this Super Junior Tag League! The Mighty Don’t Kneel!” Mic drop and the fans cheer, especially as TMDK join them in the stands!

Robbie & Fujita have plenty of fighting spirit left, will they make it all the way to the finals?

My Thoughts:

A great round for Tag League, and the blocks have now diverged. A Block already has a team out of the running while having one team at 3-0 while B Block is a top half and a bottom half. But I think I just said it yesterday that Tiger & Capitan don’t need to be contenders for the block, they just need to give the other teams great matches, but maybe now they will also be a spoiler for a team in the end. As for Connors & Drilla, they’re definitely strong contenders since they were champions just before the tournament, but I don’t think they’ll sweep. They might end up in a tiebreaker situation in the fifth, but I guess we’ll see in round four.

As for B Block, Jet Setters, Roppongi Revise and Bullet Club all being 2-1, can’t wait to see how that shuffles out. It’d be fitting if the champs make it out of the block and to the finals, but something would be really fun about seeing Taiji & Robbie X VS TMDK so that we could get Robbie VS Robbie, OI OI OI.
