Kelani Jordan VS Lola Vice!
The Standout wanted to stomp out Cora Jade for all the shade she’s been throwing, and to her credit, it was a touch hypocritical for Stephanie Vaquer & Lola Vice to stop her when they’ve had grudge matches of their own. But will Kelani really vent her frustrations out on a friend? Or can Lola quite literally knock some sense into Kelani?
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two tie up. Kelani powers Lola to ropes, Lola turns things around and she tells Kelani to calm down. Kelani shoves Lola and says you don’t tell her to come down! Kelani headlocks for a takeover, but Lola fights free and hits a SPINEBUSTER! Kelani gets up and shoves Lola again! Lola SOBATS, whips, but Kelani goes up and over. Kelani then ducks ‘n’ dodges to go up and CROSSBODY! The fans fire up as Kelani DROPKICKS! Lola sits up, into a SPLASH DOWN! Cover, TWO! Kelani keeps on Lola with a whip and slingshot- NO, Lola stops the arm-drag to wrangle Kelani!
The fans rally while Lola says Kelani’s running too hot. Kelani fights up, pries free of the chinbar, but Lola wrenches. Kelani wrenches and wrangles Lola to a top wristlock! Lola fights up while the fans rally, but Kelani keeps Lola down. Lola fights around, stands up, and she wrangles Kelani into the armlock! Kelani fights up, Lola chinbars, but Kelani keeps fighting. Kelani pries free again, but Lola wrenches again. The fans continue to rally as Kelani rolls, handsprings, and wrenches, only for Lola to hit a fireman’s carry takeover! Lola keeps on the wristlock but Kelani fights around. Kelani BOOTS Lola away then goes to a corner.
Lola runs up but Kelani slips out to the apron! Lola hits buckles, Kelani ROUNDHOUSES her! Kelani climbs up and CROSSBODY FLOPS as Lola moves! SPIN KICK! SPIN KICK! Lola BOOTS Kelani into a corner! Lola says calm it down! The fans fire up as Lola reminds us, “I’m a Latina~!” HIP ATTACK! Lola says she told Kelani she didn’t wanna do this, but she will take the fight to her, as NXT goes to break.
NXT returns and Lola has Kelani in a facelock. Kelani fights up but Lola snap suplexes! That’s Una Amiga as Lola stands Kelani up for another suplex! Dos Amigas, and now Lola gives some Latina Heat and extra spice, but Kelani slips out of the suplex! Kelani gives some Standout Heat, LEG DROP DDT! Cover, TWO! Lola survives but Kelani shrieks in frustration. Kelani hauls Lola up but Lola fires body shots and kicks! Lola whips, KICKS low, then whips again. Another KICK, and Lola tells Kelani this is what she wanted. But then Kelani wrenches and CALF KICKS! Both women are down and the fans fire up!
Kelani finds Lola first and fires a forearm! Lola fires back! Kelani fires another forearm, but Lola fires back! They stand, Kelani fires forearms and CHOPS, then KNEES low! Kelani whips and CLOBBERS Lola! And CLOBBERs her! Handspring EL- NO, Lola catches Kelani into the REAR NAKED CHOKE!! The fans fire up as Kelani flails and reaches out! Kelani sees ropes, turns over, heads for them, but Lola has body scissors! Lola is a backpack as Kelani stands, and Kelani RAMS Lola into the buckles! Lola holds on tight, so Kelani tries again! Then BACKPACK SENTON! Both women are down again and the fans fire up!
The fans cheer on “NXT! NXT!” for making this match, but wait! Cora Jade shows up, and she has her kendo stick back! Cora taunts Kelani, but Lola runs up! Kelani sends Lola into Cora! O’Conner Roll, BRIDGE, KELANI WINS!
Winner: Kelani Jordan, by pinfall
Cora SMACKS Kelani! And SMACKS her again! And again! But then Lola gets up, so Cora SMACKS away on her! The fans boo as the mean girl goes from spoiler to spoiled brat! But wait, here comes Vaquer! La Primera stares Cora down, then blocks the kendo stick strike! Lola storms up and Cora turns around to see her. Lola says this is what estupida gets! But then Cora ducks and the URAKEN hits Vaquer!! Lola apologizes to Vaquer and Cora acts like she had nothing to do with any of that. Cora blows Kelani a kiss, but will they settle their score soon enough?
NXT announces the 2024 Match of the Year!
Great nominees from these past 12 months, such as Ilja Dragunov VS Trick Williams for the NXT Championship, Kelani Jordan VS Sol Ruca for the NXT Women’s North American Championship, and even the 2024 Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline. But in the end, the winner is… The NXT North American Championship Triple Threat from Stand & Deliver: Philadelphia! Josh Briggs says that winning 2024 MOTY is a cool one. NXT has had its biggest and best year here, and for Briggs to be a big part of that year, and to share in this award, that’s really special.
Briggs takes a second to thank those who voted for them, and everyone who was able to feast their eyes on that match. This means a lot to the three men in that match. Going into that weekend, they were told to make that match the match of the weekend, and they sure did try. 2024 was really good, but Briggs promises that in 2025, he and Inamura have something special for the NXT Tag Team Division. Oh, and there better be a trophy for this.
Giulia speaks.
“Next week, New Year’s Evil, the rematch I’ve been waiting for since October. Roxanne Perez has been a great women’s champion. She belongs in the conversation with all the great NXT Women’s Champions before her. But her time at the top of the division is coming to an end. it is time for the Beautiful Madness to take over. Time for me to live up to the hype, live up to the expectations the WWE Universe has for me, and I that have for myself. Rhea Ripley, Charlotte, Shayna, Asuka. I want to put my name in the conversation of women like these future Hall of Famers.
“When I first saw wrestling, it felt like electricity surged through my entire body. I knew this was my calling. Japanese Women’s Wrestling is a world of grudges and relentless determination. It’s all about trying to prove yourself. In my seven years in Japan, I fought incredible wrestlers, and had matches that fans will always remember. Their warrior spirit is telling me not to lose. Roxanne, this time, there is nothing you can throw at me I can’t overcome. No weapon, best friend, or anything else you can think of. At Deadline, I won the Iron Survivor Challenge for this chance. A chance to take what I traveled across the world for: the right to hold that women’s title in the air.
“Next week, we start the New Year with a NEW NXT Women’s Champion.” The Beautiful Madness is ready, will she make Roxie lose her mind and her title?
NXT announces the 2024 Moment of the Year!
This year was full of great matches but also of great moments! Carmelo turning on Trick, Tyrese Haliburton hating on the Orlando Magic, , Wes Lee turning on the Rascalz, Jaida Parker putting that brick in Lola Vice’s face, Ethan Page literally falling into the win at Heatwave, Jacy Jayne using a spicy calendar to #SaveChaseU, Trick Williams beating Ilja Dragunov to become NXT Champion, Giulia debuting in NXT, the All-Star 10 Woman Tag main eventing the 2300 Arena, NXT’s move to CW. But none of them compare to… Joe Hendry simply arriving in NXT!
Hendry himself tells us all thank you for voting his NXT debut as the Moment of the Year! It was a magical moment that he got to share with us all, and it was so special because of the reception both in the building and online. Before he goes, he does want to remind us that when he says, “Say his name and he appears,” that means anywhere, at anytime, on any show… Could it happen? Could Joe Hendry return to NXT in the New Year?
Backstage interview with Cedric Alexander.
Sarah Schreiber is with PRIMED Alexander, and notes that he is going 1v1 with Ethan Page, the man who broke Je’Von Evans’ jaw. What can he tell us about Je’Von’s status? Cedric says he has been in this business for 15 YEARS, and he has never seen anything like that. Je’Von’s jaw was shattered in several places, there is no timetable for a return. Cedric visited Je’Von in the hospital, and his jaw was wired shut. The only way they could communicate was to text. Cedric isn’t worried about Je’Von getting back in the ring, he’s worried about Je’Von ever eating solid foods again, his overall quality of life.
Ethan took that from Je’Von. But the last thing Je’Von said to Cedric, via text, was “Page, New Year’s Evil.” Cedric saw the look in Je’Von’s eyes… Cedric trails off as All Ego dares to step into frame. Ethan says look at them. Two best friends just texting back and forth. Ethan wishes one of those read, “Stay away from Ethan Page.” Because Cedric, Ethan’s gonna put you next to Je’Von. Cedric throws the first punch! They brawl through the backstage area, Cedric with the edge on Ethan. They end up in the wardrobe department and Cedric uses Ethan to knock over tables! Refs tell Cedric to stop but he just keeps going!
Cedric chases Ethan through a door and into a hall, and that leads to gorilla! The brawl continues on stage, and Ethan turns things around! More refs hurry out here, these two are supposed to have a match, but that was for later! Fans chant “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THE FIGHT!” Well, perhaps they will, as that match is now NEXT! Refs do their best to break the two up, but who breaks who when NXT returns from break?
Ethan Page VS Cedric Alexander!
NXT returns and the match has started, but it’s still a brawl as Cedric fires hands on Ethan! The fans fire up behind Uncle Ceddy as he fires hands in a corner! The ref counts, Cedric stomps away, but the ref backs him off. Cedric seethes, but Ethan storms up to ROCK him with a right! Cedric goes to a corner, Ethan fires body shots, but Cedric returns fire! Cedric CHOPS, CHOPS, and shoves, to then dropkick legs out! Then ENZIGIRI! The fans fire up while Ethan goes to a corner, and Cedric runs corner to corner. Ethan CHOPS, whips, but Cedric goes up and over! Ethan tumbles out, Cedric keeps moving, and Cedric DIVES! Direct hit on Ethan and the fans fire up! The fans rally for “NXT! NXT!” while Cedric puts Ethan in. Cedric steps in, but Ethan hits a CODE BREAKER to counter! Ethan covers, TWO! Cedric stays in this and Ethan is frustrated, but he ROCKS Cedric. Cedric goes to ropes, Ethan CHOKES him, but the ref counts. Ethan lets off at 4, and he brings Cedric in.
Ethan whips to then DROPKICK Cedric down! Cover, TWO! Ethan seethes more while he looms over Cedric. Ethan stomps Cedric right on the face! The fans rally but Ethan clamps on a chinlock. Ethan thrashes Cedric around, leans on him, but Cedric endures. Cedric fights while fans actually duel. Cedric fires body shots, then he ROCKS Ethan! Both men stagger back, but Ethan runs up! Cedric BOOTS Ethan, then ENZIGIRIS! Cedric fires up and he CLOBBERS Ethan! And CLOBBERS him again! Then he blocks a kick to fireman’s carry! But Ethan hits a KNEE ELBOW COMBO to get free!
Cedric clutches his jaw, Ethan Canadian Racks! Cedric slips free, shoves, and scoops, MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, TWO! Ethan survives and Cedric is shocked! Ethan crawls to a corner, Cedric runs in, but Ethan BOOTS first! Ethan then stands Cedric up for a CUTTER! Cover, Ethan wins!!
Winner: Ethan Page, by pinfall
Ethan isn’t done, though, as he rains down fists on Cedric! Fans boo and the ref reprimands but Ethan drags Cedric up. Ethan TOSSES Cedric out, and he sends Cedric into steel steps! The fans boo but Ethan soaks up the heat. Ethan vowed to hospitalize Cedric, and he brings out all sorts of things out from under the ring! Fire extinguisher, chair, a steel pipe, but those aren’t good enough. Ethan grabs the toolbox, pops it open, and he puts Cedric’s hand inside! The fans boo as Ethan SLAMS the lid closed!! The ref shouts for medical while Cedric writhes and Ethan just smiles. Je’Von’s jaw, Cedric’s hand, will Ethan look to take the heart of NXT as compensation for his failures?
Hank ‘n’ Tank argue things out with Ty & Ty.
Walker & Ledger just don’t understand why Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe did what they did last week during Christmas Chaos. Hank ‘n’ Tank thought things were cool, but they end up brawling all over Lowell? Tyriek says he and Tyson weren’t in the Fatal 4 Way but Hank ‘n’ Tank were, so sorry not sorry, this business is about checks ‘n’ championships. Tyson says they are cool now, but Hank ‘n’ Tank says not really. Tyson understands they’re upset, but his boy, Tyriek, always has Tyson’s best interests at heart. In steps Shawn Spears and he says there are some “misguided individuals” who just need some direction in their lives.
Hear him out, gentlemen, but- Wes Lee interrupts The Chair Man and says Ty & Ty aren’t lost. They have a voice of their own, and they don’t need directions. At least, not from someone like Shawn Spears. Oh, well, Spears doesn’t need this. He has what he needs already. Spears heads out, what does he mean by that? Tank can’t believe Ty & Ty are going to listen to Wes after everything he’s done. Tyson shrugs, Tyriek nods, and Wes says Hank ‘n’ Tank are short a man for this fight. Hank says no worries, they can find someone. Tank says they always do. Maybe even two or three. Wes wishes them luck, then leads Ty & Ty away.
Tank turns to Hank and asks who they’re gonna find to tag with tonight, on New Year’s Eve?! Hank doesn’t know, but he knows they’ll find one. Will the Christmas Chaos hangover really ruin this final hurrah? Or will someone be willing to HONK HONK with the big guys?
Triple Threat Tag: Gigi Dolin & Shotzi Blackheart w/ Tatum Paxley VS Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson VS Kayden Carter & Katana Chance!
The NXT Women’s Division is so hot and so strong that everyone from all brands wants to be a part of it! But will Hell’s Favorite Harlot & The Wild Child turn NXT into “the freak show?” Will the Meta Girls slam on the brakes? Or will KC Squared help us party into the New Year? We find out, after the break.
NXT returns and the party girls make their entrance, even bringing back the smoke blasters. That leaves the Bougie Bully & Miss Jackson to enter last. The teams sort out and in this Triple Threat, only two teams are legal at a time. Kayden starts against Gigi and the fans rally up. Kayden and Gigi tie up, Kayden waistlocks, then trips Gigi. Kayden walks all over Gigi, shimmies ‘n’ shakes, then she kicks. Gigi ducks the buzzsaw but not the HEEL KICK! Gigi flounders, Lash tags in, and she picks Gigi up to put her outside! Now Kayden jumps onto Lash for a SLEEPER! Lash stays up, pries free, and she FLINGS Kayden away!
Kayden staggers up but Lash scoops her, carries her around, then SLAMS her down! Lash SPLASH, cover, TWO! Lash knuckle locks Kayden to straight arm lever! The fans cheer as Lash carries Kayden around, then drops her., But Kayden shoves Lash, ducks ‘n’ dodges then DROPKICSK! Lash wobbles but Kayden tags Katana. Lash throws them both away, but Kayden whips Katana back at Lash! Katana trips Lash up, Kayden SUPERKICKS, and Katana slingshot SENTONS! Cover, ONE!! And with some power! Shotzi tags in off Katana to reel Lash in, but Lash throws her back! Shotzi comes back to CODE BREAKER!
Jakara tags in and gets around Shotzi, ripcord and fast hands! Jakara underhooks to BUTTERFLY PLEX! Cover, ONE!! Shotzi stays in this but Jakara brings her up. Shotzi JAWBREAKERS, JAWBREAKERS again, then sends Jakara to the corner. Shotzi runs up to back body block! Tag to Gigi, she brings Jakara out, then runs, and she hooks Jakara’s arm to send her at the ropes! Gigi BLASTS Lash, traps Jakara, and tags in Shotzi! Gigi rubs it in before Shotzi jumps into the BALLPIT! Gigi adds a DROPKICK and Jakara dangles out of the ring! The fans fire up while Shotzi drags Jakara in, ties the legs up, and has a TEXAS CLOVERLEAF!
Jakara endures while Shotzi sits on the hold! The fans rally, Jakara claws her way to ropes, but Shotzi hurries to turn her back over! Jakara KICKS Shotzi away, Kayden tags in! Kayden puts Shotzi on ropes then runs, for a BOOT WASH! Now Shotzi dangles out of the ring! Gigi runs up, Kayden dodges to DECK her! Kayden has Katana get moving, and Katana CROSSBODIES Gigi & Shotzi down! But Lash storms in to whip Kayden! Kayden reveres, Katana RANAS Lash out! The fans fire up with the party girls, and they both run to DOUBLE TOPE TORNILLO!! Down goes everyone else, the fans are thunderous as NXT goes to break!
NXT returns and Gigi fires forearms and kicks on Lash! Gigi kicks then BUZZSAWS! And SWITCH KICK! Gigi brings Lash up, but Lash wrenches out to ROCK Gigi! Gigi flops to a corner, Kayden tags in! Kayden runs to go up the ropes, wheelbarrow and victory roll! Roll through, basement SUPERKICK! Kayden pushes Lash down, tags Katana, and “This is Awesome!” as Katana goes up. KEG STAND SPLASH!! Cover while Kayden plays defense, but everyone else breaks it! All six women are down and the fans are thunderous! Tatum coaches her friends while the teams slowly regroup.
Lash crawls, she tags Jakara in. Jakara goes up and MISSILE DROPKICKS! Direct hit on Katana and the fans fire up! But then Katana BOOTS back, and Kayden tags in! Hot tag to Lash and Meta Four combines! Jakara climbs onto Lash’s shoulders so she can SUPER CROSSBODY onto everyone else!! But Gigi’s up to wrench Lash! Step over and hook, CRUCIFIX DRIVER!! Cover, TWO!! Lash survives and the fans fire up again! Gigi hurries to a corner, but wait, the Fatal Influence is here! Jazmyn Nyx & Fallon Henley distract the ref so that Jacy Jayne can SHOVE Gigi down!
Lash hurries up to PUMP KICK THE BRAKES on Gigi! Jakara’s back, she tags in, and Meta Four gets Gigi in a wheelbarrow for the META CUTTER! Cover, Meta Four wins!
Winners: Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson, by pinfall
The Fatal Influence gets payback for last week, but this might juts be fuel on the fire. Will the NXT Mean Girls have to face “the freaks” themselves if they want to put an end to this?
And wait, while Meta Four celebrates, we get applause from the tron. Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn say that was impressive. But a little birdy told them that Lash & Jakara are looking for a Women’s Tag title match. The funny thing is, so are Alba & Isla! So let’s remind you that the last time the four of them met, it was Alba & Isla with their hands raised in victory. They will have no problem running through Meta Four again to get back to their titles. New Year, Same Unholy Union! Then will things be very evil for New Year’s Evil? Or will Lash & Jakara pump the brakes on the spooky bus?
Lola Vice tries to talk with Stephanie Vaquer.
Lola says she didn’t meant to heat Vaquer but Vaquer doesn’t wanna hear it. Kelani walks over to say, “Wow, look at that.” Lola says this is Kelani’s fault! Kelani says no it’s not. And it’s funny how the tables turn, right? What were they telling her? “Tranquila, calm down.” Lola & Vaquer are both upset with Cora, but Vaquer’s also upset with Lola. Kelani says these two deserved it. That gets them on the same page and they start going after Kelani! Refs rush over to stop this, and the real criminal in all this watches from afar. Cora chuckles, but then Ava Raine walks in. She asks what Cora’s doing. Cora says, “Just enjoying the drama.” Oh, nice.
That aside, Ava needs a woman to step up and challenge Fallon for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Oh, well, it’s Cora, obviously. Yeah, Ava knew Cora would say that. Cora will get a chance to earn her opportunity next week. Really? Who’s her opponent? Let’s see… Lola. And Kelani. And Vaquer. #1 Contender’s Fatal 4 Way at New Year’s Evil. Cora says right… Ava heads out but Cora says it’ll be fine. Does she mean that? Or is she trying to convince of that?
Ava Raine meets with Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King & William Regal.
NXT returns as the NXT General Manager now meets with the former and current Heritage Cup Champions, as well as the former NXT GM to address last week’s Heritage Cup match. Lexis says he “doesn’t mean” to cut her off, but he wants to say it is so great to finally hold this Heritage Cup, and to know he won it with integrity and honor. Yes, but… he did win by disqualification. Y-yeah, that was the ref’s decision. Ava wants Lexis to understand, she looked into the rules of the Heritage Cup Division. Yes, a match can end in a disqualification, but it is a grey area if the Cup can change hands under those circumstances.
But he was declared the winner. Yes, we know that. But since it was a debatable DQ, she has decided next week, New Year’s Evil, we will have a rematch: Lexis King VS Charlie Dempsey, for the Heritage Cup, BUT sudden death, so standard first fall to a finish. Dempsey is fine with that, as he’s proven he can beat Lexis. They can’t say the same for Lexis over Dempsey, now can we? B-But Lexis won! Yes, and Lexis can prove it without a doubt next week. As for Mr. Regal… He already knows, he’ll have nothing to do with it. Regal takes his leave, and Ava asks for the Cup. Lexis pleads with Ava but she asks that he please hand it over.
Lexis gives in and Ava takes the Cup. She hands it to Dempsey, and he thanks her. Dempsey leaves with the Cup while Lexis says he did everything right. She knows. But for now, Dempsey is the Heritage Cup Champion again. Will Dempsey hold onto the Cup through New Year’s Evil? Or will Lexis finally and definitively, without a doubt, be THE Heritage Cup Champion?
NXT announces the 2024 Tag Team of the Year!
Both the Men’s and Women’s Tag Divisions in NXT are stacked, from Chase U to Meta Four to Hank ‘n’ Tank, but the only team that can be considered THE TEAM of 2024 is #Fraxiom! Sarah Schreiber is with Nathan Frazer & Axiom, the NXT Tag Team Champions, as they receive their golden ring bells. Frazer & Axiom are honored. They went from being rivals to being a team. Last year, they created magic against each other. Now this year, they created magic with each other. They joined forces in the Dusty Cup, but they could never have imagined what this would turn into. And since then, they never slowed down!
It has been quite the journey. They’ve won the tag titles, kicked each other multiple times, even lost the titles at one point, but they got them right back! And for all the ups and downs, they wouldn’t have it any other way. It is one thing to puff your chest out and say you’re the best, but it is another for the fans to be the ones to say you’re the best. That is freakin’ cool! But in steps OTM. Bronco Nima says Fraxiom may’ve accomplished some great things in 2024, but in 2025, this all ends. OTM is gonna hit you with something different. Lucien Price says hold onto those belts while you can, because OTM is coming for everything Fraxiom’s earned.
OTM heads out, but Frazer & Axiom don’t sweat it. Will Fraxiom in 2025 be the same as in 2024? Or will they fail to get #OutTheMud?
Sol Ruca & Zaria watch the awards presentation.
Guess they won’t have to worry about being Tag Team of the Year in 2025. Zaria says okay, it wasn’t that bad. Yeah, but it wasn’t that good, either. But hey, Sol’s gotta go, her match is next. Zaria nods, will the Surfer Girl snatch the It Girl’s soul? Or will she ride the waves right into a spike?
Izzi Dame VS Sol Ruca!
NXT returns as Izzi makes her entrance. The bell rings, the two tie up, and Izzi powers Sol to ropes. Sol turns things around but Izzi turns them back, and they end up in a corner. The ref counts but Sol goes up the corner to FLYING ARM-DRAG! Sol taunts Izzi, Izzi runs up, but Solo drop toeholds! Sol floats to a headlock but Izzi fights up. Sol pops the hips for an inside takeover, but Izzi pushes Sol towards a headscissors. Sol fights that off, grinds the headlock, but Izzi fights up to her feet. Sol hits a standard takeover and the fans rally. Izzi endures, fights up, but Izzi pulls hair! The ref reprimands but Izzi powers up and out!
Sol rebounds to RAM Izzi, Izzi rebounds but Sol goes Matrix! Then she kips up to SHOULDER TACKLE! The fans fire up while Izzi flounders to a corner. Sol whips, Izzi reverses, but then Sol goes up and over! Izzi POSTS herself, and Sol climbs up to stand on her! Sol surfs on Izzi, then hops down to KNEE Izzi in! Sol then springboards, but Izzi SPIKES Sol! Izzi rains down fists, then stands Sol up to whip and CLOBBER her! Cover, TWO! Sol stays in this but Izzi stalks her to ropes. Izzi CHOKES Sol, thrashes her around, but stops as the ref counts. Izzi fireman’s carries Sol, but Sol slips free to O’Conner Roll! TWO!
Sol keeps moving, she ROCKS Izzi, and we see Shawn Spears watching from the perch. Sol runs up, Izzo dodges in the corner, but Sol goes up! But then Izzi YANKS Sol down! Sol clips buckles, Izzi reels her in! Back suplex CUTTER! Wait, Zaria is making her way out here? She coaches Sol while Izzi covers, TWO! Sol survives and Izzi is furious! The fans rally while Iziz throws a fit! Zaria coaches Sol more but Izzi bumps Sol off buckles! And off more buckles! And then more buckles! Izzi grins as she’s back in control, but Sol stops her from completing the lap! Sol ELBOWS Izzi, bumps her off buckles, and then mule kicks!
Sol CLUBS Izzi, DECKS her, and then springboards to FLYING SHOULDER! And then CROSSBODY! Sol whips Izzi to a corner, then runs, but Izzi puts her on the apron! Sol ROUNDHOUSES Izzi and Izzi falls! Sol then springboards to SPLASH, but onto knees! Izzi saves herself, then she hauls Sol up to whip. POP-UP- FACEBUSTER! Sol counters Izzi and Izzi flops out of the ring! The ref has Zaria stay back, but Sol goes up! But Izzi pulls Zaria into the ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Sol panics, she didn’t mean to do that! But Izzi BOOTS Sol, she did mean to do that! Izzi puts Sol in, then reels her in, for the I-DRIVE! Cover, Izzi wins!
Winner: Izzi Dame, by pinfall
Izzi got the kill on that one, and she may have proven herself right: friends are a liability. But then, what about a business partnership with The Chair Man?
Hank ‘n’ Tank talk with…?
The big belly boys know this guy’s been through a lot in 2024, but the more they thought about it, he’s the only guy who can help them. So, they’re asking for just one time, one match. What does he say? Put on a helmet to end 2024 with a bang? They’re asking Mr. Chase?! Andre Chase seems really conflicted, what will be his answer?
NXT announces the 2024 Female Superstar of the Year!
This is the best Women’s Division in WWE, and perhaps even the world! Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, Jaida Parker, just to name a few, but Sarah Schreiber presents the golden bell to none other than Roxanne Perez. The NXT Women’s Champion says it is only fitting that the TWO-TIME champion is also Female Superstar of the Year. Let’s take a look back at 2024, when she “finally came to her senses” and realized that no one here is on her level. She reclaimed what was rightfully hers, dominated ANY superstar on NXT or even main roster that tried to stop her, and she thinks her favorite moment was when she dropped a pipe bomb on Mr. Pipe Bomb himself, CM Punk.
She has attracted the top women from around the globe, including Jordynne Grace, Zaria, Stephanie Vaquer, and Giulia. Roxie made NXT hers in 2024, and yet the people think Giulia’s gonna be the one to change that? Sure, Giulia is an international sensation, a mega star even, and everyone thinks she’s the one to take this title. But unfortunately for them all, the 2024 Female Superstar of the Year is THE ONE, THE Prodigy, and the only. See you at New Year’s Evil. Roxie takes her leave with both prizes in hand, but will she be leaving Los Angeles with only the ring bell after Giulia gets through with her?
Six Man Tag: Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe VS Hank, Tank & ???
It is the moment of truth! Ty & Ty have joined the #WesSide tonight, and that change in attitude comes in time for the New Year. However, did the big belly boys convince Mr. Chase to join in? They did! Though, Mr. Chase looks rather uncertain and uninterested… But will this match be just the thing to help Chase heal after the fall of Chase U? Or will there be NO #TeachableMoment tonight?
WHOA, Wes gets a cheap shot SUPERKICK on Chase! And then Ty & Ty go after Hank ‘n’ Tank! The bell rings, Tank fights back but Tyson DECKS him! The fans boo but Tyson SPLASHES Tank in the corner! Tag to Tyriek, and Tyson feeds Tank to a LARIAT! Tyriek drags Tank up to whip him to an open corner hard! Tank slumps down, Tyriek storms up, and Tyriek whips corner to corner. Hank takes the bump for Tank and Tank LARIATS Tyriek! The fans fire up, Tank brings Tyriek around and Chase tags in. Chase tags Hank, Tank whips Tyrike to a corner. Tank SPLASHES Tyriek, Chase forearm SMASHES!

Tyriek whips Tank back into an open corner, then runs up to SPLASH! Tyriek stomps a mudhole into Tank, fires hands, but the ref counts. Tyriek lets off to KNEE Tank low. The fans rally up for Tank but Tyriek snarls. But then Tank kicks low, and he fires off hands!

Chase’s stages of grief aren’t out of his system yet, and that cost Hank ‘n’ Tank. And now that Ty & Ty are on the Wes Side, will nothing stop them from getting those checks ‘n’ championships like they want?
Ashante THEE Adonis is on the phone.
He’s calling Karmen Petrovic, but she sends him straight to voicemail. Damn, she cold… He leaves a message anyway, wanting her to know that she’s the one. Always has been. He’d love to spend New Year’s Eve with her. And if not, then he’ll just spend it alone. He misses her. Call him back. But then Nikkita Lyons walks in and congratulates him on the big win last week. And about that New Year’s Eve party. Is he trying to come through or what? Look, Nikkita, if Adonis can’t spend tonight with Karmen, he’ll just spend it alone, sorry. Oh, too bad. Thought he was a player. Nikkita leaves, and Adonis realizes, maybe he’s not. Is there hope for this love story yet?
Meanwhile, Shawn Spears finds Izzi Dame backstage and applauds the win. “Arguably the biggest win of your career.” Izzi sighs but Spears says a few more of those and she’ll be in title contention. Izzi tells Spears, “For the 50th time, leave me alone!” But he’s just saying that- The D’Angelo Family walks over, and Tony D tells Spears that he heard the lady, leave her alone. Why does someone have to constantly tell him that? Izzi says hey look, a man who listens! That’s new. Izzi heads out, and Spears says yes, he listens. Because last week, Spears was listening to Santa Ridge’s beatdown on The Don.
Spears smirks and leaves, but Tony’s mood just soured. He tells Stacks & Luca to “take care” of Ridge. Will the D’Angelo Family be able to find a pair of cement shoes that fit Ridge The Fridge? Or will Tony have to handle Yorkshire Grit himself?
Andre Chase returns backstage.
One of his former students, Kale Dixon, walks over and asks when the next semester starts. Chase asks if Kale hadn’t heard. Chase U… is dead. What? Chase leaves, perhaps even more depressed than before. Is Chase just going to let things stay like this? Or can students like Kale bring Chase U out of the ashes?
NXT announces the 2024 Male Superstar of the Year!
Speaking of The Don, he’s on this list, alongside Ethan Page, Oba Femi, and Trick Williams. Current and former champions each and every one, but Mike Rome announces that the award goes to… Wait, Oba Femi is here? The Ruler heads right to the ring, mic in hand, and he stares Mike right down. Oba is the rightful winner of this award, and he takes the golden ring bell from Mike to look it over. The fans cheer as Oba says, “You see, you guys and your awards. Don’t you guys understand? It doesn’t matter who wins the Male Superstar of the Year. All this is, really, is a prop for a popularity contest.
“Honestly, I think it’s laughable that you guys think that you can dictate the narrative here in NXT because you can voice your opinions on social media.” The fans boo but Oba says it doesn’t matter if they boo, cheer, go “HOOT!” or not. Oba’s performance remains the same! It is inconsequential! You think you get to control something? You control NOTHING! The only person in this building, in this company, that controls anything is OBA. Oba is The Ruler! He is the one who directs the narrative! He is the one that steers the ship! He is the captain now! The fans cheer that reference. Oba says tune in for New Year’s Evil and witness him become NXT Champion!
But speaking of, Trick Williams makes his way out here now! The fans fire up with “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” and Booker T gets his lines in. Trick goes to the ring, a mic in his hand, as well. Trick asks Oba why he has to tell these people all kinds of lies. Correct Trick if he’s wrong, but he sees no problem with getting love from the fans. The fans cheer that. Trick says he has been rather fortunate since coming to NXT. The people showed him love and he appreciates that. But don’t get it twisted, Oba. We all know what it is next week: Triple Threat, Eddy Thorpe VS Oba Femi VS Trick Williams.
To win this, Trick has to dig deep. He has to do something different, he has to be be ruthless. In fact, he might need that old Trick back. That Trick Curry, that Tricky McGrady, that Michael Trick, that TRICK JAMES! The Trick Williams that gets the job done! And Oba has some nicknames himself. Oba Da Ruler, HOOT! Oba the Destroyer! The King! Thanos Jr! But here’s another nickname for him: Ol’ Beatable Oba! That’s right! Oba IS beatable! How do we know that? Because if he wasn’t, we wouldn’t even have a Triple Threat! It’d be Title VS Title! Trick has his NXT Championship, but where’s Oba’s title at?
Let’s talk about facts! And Trick isn’t chasing Oba, Oba is chasing Trick as the top man in NXT! And if we’re talking facts, when Oba got beat at Halloween Havoc, he was gone for a few weeks. Now, we all wanna know… How long is Oba gonna disappear for when Trick beats him at New Year’s Evil? The mics drop, but then EDDY ATTACKS FROM BEHIND! Eddy sends Oba into Trick, then he grabs the golden ring bell! Eddy CLOBBERS Oba with it!! The bell flies off the plaque, and then Eddy picks up the belt! Will the Alpha Wolf put an underline under “alpha” next week? Or is he just going to get the beating he deserves from both Oba and Trick?
My Thoughts:
A great NXT, even with combining “awards show episode” with “go-home episode.” It is a great honor that Briggs, Oba & Dijak got 2024 Match of the Year for NXT, and that it was still included as a nominee given WWE let Dijak go. I suppose that was WWE’s way of making things up to Dijak, but I feel like they should just get him back. That aside, Briggs had a good acceptance speech, and I like that he also teased him and Inamura still wanting the tag titles. Fraxiom is of course NXT Tag Team of 2024, and they had a very good acceptance speech that also had OTM joining in so they could call them out. Their tag match will be awesome, who knows how it goes.
Giulia and Roxie had great final promos ahead of next week, and Roxie was of course named Female Superstar of 2024. However, I still think New Year’s Evil is where Giulia starts her reign and starts her own path to Female Superstar of 2025. Moment of the Year being Joe Hendry showing up in NXT is great, and his tease that he’ll return is also great, can’t wait for 2025 to be the Year of Joe Hendry. And while that was a stacked four, Trick not being Male Superstar of 2024 was a touch surprising. At the same time, Oba’s awesome, it makes sense he’d win.
However, Oba burying the Year End Awards was a pretty obvious attempt at making him Heel and trying to get fans to turn on him. However, when he says “I’m the captain now,” that undoes all the work of the Heel promo. At the same time, Oba winning and running down the awards show was also a good way to get Trick out there, and Trick had a great promo in throwing Tony D beating Oba in Oba’s face. And then of course, Eddy attacked and found a way to stand tall because duh, he’s not winning next week. Eddy is eating that pin, I bet it’s Oba who wins, Trick can immediately go to SmackDown the following Friday as part of a call-up.
Good stuff from Ethan and Cedric tonight, and Je’Von wanting to get after Ethan as soon as next week, that’s pretty wild. Je’Von’s too young to have that Super Cena healing factor, but maybe Je’Von isn’t worried about a match so much as he is about beating up Ethan. Ethan smashing Cedric’s hand is good for heat, maybe Je’Von brings out that very edge Wes Lee was talking about. Good stuff with Wes, Tyriek & Tyson VS Hank ‘n’ Tank ‘n’ Chase. Chase having the sudden breakdown over Chase U being gone was a fitting way to finish that Six Man Tag, and it gave the Heels a solid win in their first Six Man Tag.
Kale Dixon being used to suggest some “students” still want Chase U to continue is some good stuff. There could be a really good story where Kale, some former LVL UP superstars (as LVL UP is being dropped, I believe), and even some WWE ID stars can convince Chase to try again. Though, I feel like they’d have to go with a Chase State or Chase Tech so as to get around Ridge’s stipulation that Chase U is done. Speaking of, Spears throwing Ridge’s actions in Tony’s face was some good stuff. But I feel like Stacks & Luca going after Ridge should backfire so as to motivate Tony giving Ridge a title match.
Spears keeps trying to recruit Izzi, he keeps failing, I have no idea where this is going if she keeps turning him down. Though speaking of, same could be said of Adonis and Karmen. It’s good that we got him openly saying that Karmen’s his true love, and for Lyons to apparently get the message. Also, Karmen has been off TV because she ended up getting a very nasty flu. She tweeted herself that she had a 120 fever, and that she perhaps just worked herself to the bone. Well wishes for Karmen so that she can return for New Year’s Evil for the next part of this story. It’d make sense to me if she ignored his voicemail, and has to be told by someone who watched the show what he said, and then she goes to him for their big romcom hug ‘n’ kiss moment.
Great opening match from Kelani and Lola, but of course Cora and Vaquer got involved for there to be mishap after mishap. And smart move from Ava to make a Fatal 4 Way #1 contender’s match. Given Fallon Henley is Heel, it is NOT Cora who wins, and probably because Kelani makes sure she doesn’t. Vaquer would be a good choice, and she could parallel Giulia as Giulia goes for the top title. And speaking of Fallon, of course she and Fatal Influence had to influence that Triple Threat Tag. It was a great match but obviously with Gigi, Shotzi & Tatum feuding with The Influence, they weren’t winning. Great win for Lash & Jakara, and they’ll have a great match against Alba & Isla.
One moment that almost kinda hurt was Ava taking the Heritage Cup from Lexis. Lexis had a point that he did nothing wrong, but I guess whatever kayfabe rules are around the Cup are clear that it must actually be the opponent’s fault. That said, a regular style match for the Heritage Cup is an interesting twist. I suppose this means they can go for as long as they want now, and I sure hope Lexis wins so that he can “truly” be the Heritage Cup Champion.
My Score: 8.9/10

Andrew’s TNA Genesis Results & Match Ratings: 1.17.26
That AMC debut was yikes! Do survive the spin out, or hit the wall?
Well the AMC debut was panned by most people. Be it IWC or contemporaries (like JBL and Eric Bischoff), and some of the wrestlers got snippy on Twitter which proves the negative backlash had an affect. If people’s opinions truly don’t matter, than you don’t acknowledge them. But even a general blast proves it struck a nerve.
The AMC debut was utter garbage, if you enjoyed it, get your head checked. It’s one thing to WANT things to go well because then there’s more jobs for everyone, which is cute, but don’t cope yourself into delusion. I detest AEW, but the AMC debut episode made Collision look like Citizen Kane.
Let’s hope the first PLE of the year corrects the botched mess that was the AMC debut.

Results:
AJ Francis vs Rich Swann
Swann’s outfit seems to be a little Black Machismo inspired.
AJ tries to grab Rich immediately, but Rich uses his speed and gets in multiple strikes, 10 count punches in the corner, kicks AJ over the top rope, tries a Dive, but gets caught, Rich counters the Down Payment and turns it into a Phoenix Senton to the floor. Rich throws in AJ, hits a few YES Kicks, goes for the Lethal Injection but eats a big Vader Hammer from AJ. AJ starts leaning on Rich, bending him in the ropes and just clubbing him as he slows down the pace. AJ just throws Rich across the ring from a Fireman’s Carry, hits Tennessee Whiskey and mugs to the crowd.
Offense continues for AJ, he chokes Rich against the steps, rolls him in, wants the Down Payment but Swann breaks the goozle with kicks and punches, but AJ re-secures his grab and just throws Rich out. Rich beats the count at 9 to no one’s real surprise. AJ steps on him and tries to lean his weight down, lifts him, showboats too long and eats elbows, a Jawjacker…but a Big Boot from AJ gives him the two count. AJ goes for some…lame Chin Lock/Chicken Wing attempt of a submission, so Swann gets out of it. AJ misses the Senton, Round Kick from Rich, Step Over Kick, Lethal Injection into Cartwheel Splash and 450 from the middle rope for two.
Rich goes back up, AJ cuts him off and just chucks him to the middle of the ring. Looks for the Moonsault, but Rich tries the Avalanche Powerbomb, but AJ stops it. AJ perches Rich, Superplex…? Rich fights back, bites AJ’s arm, headbutts him and AJ crashes down. Rich flies but AJ catches him with the TFL…only for two though! Down Payment attempt, countered, Sunset Flip, another try, Rich counters again but AJ turns it into a Styles Clash and mocks the AJ Styles pose. Goes for a second clash but Swann turns it into a Canadian Destroyer.
It looked good but we know that’s just a transitional move. Swann to the top, Five Star Frog Splash, but AJ gets his foot on the rope. Lethal Injection gets caught into a Reverse Down Payment. AJ finally hits the real Down Payment, and AJ wins.
Mustafa Ali w/Order 4 vs Elijah
Elijah gets attacked by the Great Hands on his entrance but gets rid of them easily. He and Ali start a quick rope run that Elijah turns into a Pop-Up Sitout Powerbomb. Ali powders and we get some slow outside the ring following strikes. Great Hands try to get involved again, but Elijah deals with them, has a pop moment but then Ali with the blindside Dive ruins the Drifter’s celebration. Ali continues his advantage, meticulously, deliberately, strikes, isolation submissions like Key Locks and Arm Triangles. Elijah uses the rope to counter the Arm Sumission, flings Ali to the outside. Elijah tries a dive but Mustafa hits that gorgeous Rolling Neckbreaker to stop Elijah in his tracks. Ali goes for a Standing Moonsault, but Elijah gets the knees up.
Both are slow to their feet so we get a Fighting Spirit spot. It makes sense here since they’ve had heat for a while. Ali counters an Elijah Powerbomb, Superkick connects but Elijah no sells and Lariats Ali back to Chicago. A little more dazed brawling, Ali with a slap, Bellclap, hits the ropes but eats the Elijah Knee Lift for two. Elijah wants a Cross Body but Ali catches him, cleans him onto his shoulders and Spicolli Driver! Ali tries a 450, Elijah says no, spins into the Highwayman’s Farewell Okada style! 1-2-Ali matrix bridges out and then Flair flops.
Elijah thinks his Shinsuke Nakamura with the torso kicks, forearm blasts, strikes in the corner. Perches Ali, wants an Avalanche Highwayman’s…Ali fights, Tasha distracts the ref, Great Hands save Ali and Ali connects with the Sky High Dropkick. Ali wanted the Springboard Spanish Fly, but Elijah catches it into a D’lo Brown special SKY HIGH! One, Two…Agent Zero pulls out the ref. The ref kicks them out, Tasha wants the guitar shot, Elijah grabs her, wants to Piledriver her but Ali grabs the guitar and hits Elijah before the referee is back from the ejection. Ali wins!
Overbooked but it made sense and was entertaining.
The Final Dance: Dango vs Eddie Edwards
Dango comes out looking like his outfit has a little Terry Funk inspiration. Nice touch.
Eddie and him shake hands but once Eddie turns his back Dango tries the Roll-up for 1 and they both grin. Simple tie up, they’re building this slow as they should. If this is Dango’s retirement, it needs to be something special. Lots of Headlocks, and funnily enough, the first chop comes from Dango. Dango hits the Dropkick during a rope run with a little AJ Styles flair. Very calculated, hip tosses, Eddie finally gets the best of things, connects a few chops, and Eddie is doing a good job showing that he’s slow to lock in, where Dango is egging him on. DANGO with a beautiful Snap Powerslam. Dango Chops Eddie, and while Dango’s chops are nothing compared to Eddie, it’s obvious he’s trying to fire up Eddie.
Dango tries to perch, eats the Gamengiri, Frankensteiner from Eddie and Dango powders. SHOT OF CAFFEINE! The start brawling on the outside, resetting the counts, Dango chains a few Chops into a Backdrop on the apron. Resets the count again, Eddie slams Dango into the post, looks for the Chop but Dango ducks. The brawling continues, not something we see much from Dango. Eddie rolls in Dango, follows but eats a gorgeous Beauty Shot! Eddie cuts off the run, Dango cuts off the cut off, kicks Eddie to the floor and Tope con Hilo!
Back into the ring, Hip Attacks, but Eddie answers the second with the Uppercut, second try from Eddie misses! Dango with the European Uppercut, Eddie is hung up in the ropes weird so Dango hits the Slingshot Guillotine Leg Drop for two. Counter holds into a TORNADO DDT and FALCON ARROW! Only a two count, but Dango is pulling out stuff we haven’t seen in a long time. Dango perches, Eddie cuts him off but Dango fights him off, charges…into a Blue Thunder Bomb for two! Eddie goes for a Sleeper Hold, and Dango smiles, the Cena reference is wonderful. Dango stands up, pushes Eddie back, Snapmare counter. Eddie jumps, Dango pulls off a Lion Tamer! Dango tries to reposition, Small Package attempt from Eddie, kick out, Dango connects on a Codebreaker! Only a two count, but the wrinkles and winks are wonderful.
Dango looks for a Superplex, Eddie fights off, Headbutts, Dango hits an Avalanche Air Raid Crash! 1-2-…TWO? Dango to the sky, Down and Dir-missed! Boston Knee Party! Dango kicks out of the party! Eddie lines up the Knee Party Again, connects, Dango kicks again! Eddie says “Please stay down”, Dango is refusing. Thrust Kick, Die Hard Driver! Third Knee Party finally does it!
Chef’s Kiss, wonderful match.
Ryan Nemeth vs Mara Sade
For people who don’t watch and think this is just an intergender match, stop it. This is the correct style of intergender. It’s a comedy male character, and a Knockout they’re building up. This isn’t just TNA doing the intergender stuff for the lolz, its actually being done right in the set up.
Mara…okay let me lock in for a second, she’s distracting. Ryan kisses his hand and shoves it in her face in the corner, Mara is disgusted, ducks the tie up, goes for a Sleeper but Ryan Snapmares her and gloats. He then puts her in a Headlock, she punches, looks for a Hip Toss, Ryan counters, Ryan hits the toss and Mara doesn’t land the landing perfect so Ryan giggles. She fakes the Superkick and he powders, then she hits the Crossbody off the apron, throws him in but he trips her on re-entry. Ryan Backdrops her onto the apron and he’s yelling at her that she actually loves him.
He rolls her back in, arrogant cover so Mara kicks out. Ryan goes for a kiss and eats a slap, Ryan grabs her hair and slams her back. Ryan does a lewd dance, balls his fist, and she blocks, then she throws a few punches herself, Dropkicks, Ryan eats a Splash in the corner. Tornado DDT from Mara for two. Ryan claws the eyes, tries a cradle with the ropes but the referee sees it. Ryan whines to the ref, Mara hits a perfect Slingblade. She perches, Ryan dropkicks her so she goes crashing down, Ryan uses the ropes for the roll up. Wonderful use on the story and the fact he still needs to cheat to beat her.
TNA Knockouts Championship: Zaria w/Sol Ruca vs Lei Ying Lee (c) w/Xia Brookside
A lot of pushing off, counters, but after Lei slips a Slam attempt Zaria runs her over with a Shoulder Tackle. Lei tries to perch off of a Irish Whip but gets grabbed and slammed. Ley connects on a Sweep, a kick into a Dropkick and then her corner Down strikes only get to like three before Zaria slips it and Snake Eyes Lei. Zaria grabs Lei and Suzuki style Hanging Chokehold in the corner, she breaks at the four count, gloats and goes for the pinfall but only two. Heavy lariats, short arm Lariat, still only a near fall. Zaria then just grabs her, Texas Cloverleaf but Lei tries to sit up using her core strength and then gets bombed into the ground and back into the Cloverleaf.
Lei sits up, grabs the leg and starts an STF, but Zaria fights it off, counters it into a near fall. Lei shoves her into the turnbuckle, and going for some desperate strikes. Wing Chun Chain Punches, into a Round Kick, Standing Side Kick, Back Elbow, Down Strikes in the corner get to ten this time. Lei wants a suplex, Zaria tries to stop but Lei powers through, Overhead T-Bone Suplex for two. Lei jumps on Zaria spider monkey style and goes for the Rear Naked Choke. Zaria stands up and Cannonball drives Lei into the buckles to break the hold.
Irish Whip from Zaria, misses the follow up, Lei gets caught by Zaria but they both fall out to the apron and trade strikes. Back Body Drop onto the apron from Zaria, and both women are down on the outside. M and Heather walk out to watch the match since ZaRuca could get a tag title shot soon. Rope run back inside, Zaria hits the Spear, F-5 from Zaria, but she clocked the referee! Sol and Xia are in to check on the referee, Xia and Sol take out M and Heather once M and Heather try something.
Back in the ring, the referee is still dead but Zaria literally pulls her up, Zaria posts herself with the Spear, Roll-Up for two, Headbutt from Zaria rocks Lei. Zaria wants the Hanging Chokehold again, but Lei fights out, hits a few strikes, classic Scottie Frankensteiner! Fighting Spirit, Lei wins it, Zaria pushes off, tries another F-5 but Lei turns it into a DDT. Spinning Heel Kick, Warrior’s Way from Lei and Lei retains!
TNA Tag Team Championships: The Hardy Boyz (c) vs The Righteous
The Hardyz attack the Righteous during the Hardy entrance. Big brawl, the music keeps playing and Jeff posts Dutch while Matt slaps around Vincenet. Jeff and Vincent start, Vincent tries to plead some twisted case, Jeff clocks him, tags in Matt, classic tandem work. Matt has Vincent in a chin lock and pulls at his ears and claws his eyes, the Hardyz are pissed. They’re coming out with nice anger, and Vincent has been getting pinballed from pillar to post..POETRY IN MOTION! Matt gets a little distracted by Dutch being back on the apron, Vincent gets in a couple quick shots but Matt hits the Side Effect. Calls Deletes, but Dutch grabs him then Lariats him and Vincent jumps on Matt.
Dutch tags in, crushes Matt a few times, tags back in Vincent who snaps off a Flatliner to a kneeling Matt Hardy. Matt tries to fight up as Vincent says sorry, and he doesn’t want to do this. Tag in to Dutch, Uppercut, Short arm Lariat and Dutch loves flicking his tongue. It’s weird. Matt gets throttled on the ropes and driven into the Righteous corner. Dutch lifts Matt, tries to set him up for something but Matt counters into a Twist of Fate. Simultaneous tag, Jeff Manhattan Drop, Facebuster and near fall. Jeff pulls off some odd looking Backbreaker. Dutch breaks the submission, Matt dispatches Dutch and we keep going.
Hardyz pull off the Plot Twist but it’s only a two count. Delete chants, Twist is countered, but the counter is countered, Duth trips up Matt on the rope run and it allows Vincent to tag out. Dutch hits Death Walks and lays out Jeff. Dutch tags to Vincent and calls for something. Tist of Fate from Dutch, Swanton from Vincent, but its so poorly positioned it takes Vincent too long to get to the spot in the ring for Jeff to interfere. After a brawl, Jeff is down, Dutch tries a Leg Drop and misses. Matt and Vincent are in the ring, Vincent tries to beg off, Dutch gets a microphone.
Dutch says they wanted this, they want to hurt. Twist of Fate to Vincent, Swanton from Jeff…and that was a completely unnecessary mid match mic moment. He’s good enough to grab a mic and talk but he can’t get up to make a save? A generally decent match, with the Hardyz showing anger, but that mic moment was stupid as hell.
Cedric Alexander vs Moose vs Joe Hendry
Early on each man gets a shot on someone and has moments to be in control. Headscissor from Cedric, Dropkick from Moose, Frankensteiner from Hendry and then Hendry Sack of Shit on Cedric. He gloats a little, Air Hendry attempt before they double team Hendry. Moose Powerbombs Cedric into the Apron, Hendry Powerbombs Moose. Hendry tries to throw Cedric into the ring, but Cedric flies out. Hendry slams Cedric into the steps, then Moose charges, Backdrop, and Moose flies into the steps. The medical person is saying Moose is too injured to keep going.
The referee tells Hendry and Cedric to keep going after an “injury timeout”, everyone playing babyface. Hendry misses the corner charge and eats the Dropkick to the back of the head. Cedric tries to follow up and Joe counters it into the Olympic Slam. Joe gets distracted with Moose slowly trying to get up, so when he charges Cedric, Cedric connects a few kicks. Crossbody, but Hendry catches him, before Hendry can full lift, Small Package, into Michinoku Driver and only two. Now Cedric is getting distracted by Moose. Strike Exchange, Chops and Kicks into the double down lariat spot. The crowd chants for Moose, maybe trying to will him back into the match. Moose doesn’t want to leave the match.
He hobbles into the ring and Joe and Cedric reluctantly hit him because he’s asking for it. Headbutt into Cedric from Moose, Uranage into Senton onto Hendry, Kip Up! But Moose sells the back hard. Cedric kicks and perches, Okada Dropkick from Moose! Sells the back. Hendry wants the Suplex, Moose counters, Chop and sell the back. Moose floats over the Suplex, posts Hendry, perches him and Moose goes to the sky, Suplexplex! Holds on, but Hendry hits his own Suplex and Cedric hits the Splash from off camera!
Moose and Cedric back and forth, corner shenanigans, GO TO HELL! But near fall, and the cover was awkward with Moose selling the back. Moose and Hendry chop battle. Moose charges, Pop-Up Powerbomb! Moose kicks at two. Kip Up from Joe. Joe does the turn, but eats the Death Valley Driver from Cedric! Into a Crossface! Hendry is trying to get out of the Crossface, the crowd wants Moose, Moose grabs Hendry’s wrist so he can’t tap, breaks the submission and tosses Hendry out. Texas Death Match for the TNA World Championship w/Nic Nemeth as guest referee: Mike Santana (c) vs Frankie Kazarian
Nic’s ref outfit has booty shorts…of course it would.
Frankie powders when Santana charges, but then he initiates on his own time and they go at an intense pace, right where they left off Thursday. Frankie gets rocked to the apron, Santana misses the Yakuza kick over the rope, apron teases but counters aplenty. Kaz jumps down, Santana tries a PK, but Kaz moves and flips him face first into the apron. Kaz grabs a chair, misses the first time but not the second. Kaz tries the Whip, Santana counters, Kaz jumps the steps so Santana charges and launches off the steps to wipe out Kaz. A table gets added into the ring and Santana clocks Kaz with a Yakuza kick. Santana then gets a chair, to launch the cannonball into Kaz. Santana goes for the pinfall but Kaz kicks out at two. Santana walks Kaz around the audience, 10 count punches and field trip continues. Kaz manages to connect with a punch and now he’s conducting the 10 cent tour.
Every time the location changes the momentum changes. Santana looks for dive from the second level, but Kaz cuts him off, wants the Superplex, Santana fights him off and Double Axe Handle onto the concrete. The fight to the back, trash can, garage doors, and Kaz is getting the best of this so far. Scoop Slam from Kaz onto the concrete, two count. Chairshot duel, Kaz wins, sets up some chairs and tries a Fade to Black…but Santana says no, kicks Kaz into Tuesday. Santana gets on the chairs, Piledriver on Frankie through the chairs to the outside. Pinfall! Kaz now has to get back to his feet by 10, or Santana wins – Kaz BARELY gets up at 9. Santana then punches him repeatedly for standing up and finds another table.
Santana sets up the table, gets on the apron with Kaz and wants to Piledrive Kaz through the table. Kaz fights it off, they trade strikes on the apron, Santana perches, Santana launches but Kaz catches him with a Cutter through the table! Pinfall! Santana has til 10 – – Santana is up at 9! Kaz just Knees him in the back and sends him face first into the steps! Kaz sets up chekov’s table from earlier in the ring. Then he grabs a ladder and throws it into the ring. The desperation in this is great storytelling. Frankie does his Heavy Metal Rebel pose, but Santana walks behind him with a Barbed Wire Baseball bat. Swing Away Mikey, but misses, Kaz tries the Chicken Wing but gets tossed off. Bat to the gut, and across the forehead! Outline in Chair on Kaz! Santana puts him on the table, climbs the ladder and Papi shimmy, FEELING FROGGY! Pinf-no! Kaz kicked out a 2.8.
Both men connect on Lariats and again…Kaz spits in Mike’s face. Santana wraps barbed wire around his arm. Spin the Barbed Wire Block! Pinfall – – – can Kaz get up by 10…NO! Santana retains!
Danger Zone after Santana is celebrating a little. Nic tries to cash, calls for another referee, but before the referee gets there, Spin the Block! Drops Nic and the cash in never happens.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
That…was a great show. I’ve never had brand whiplash this bad in my life. The only match that fell flat was the Hardyz and Righteous because there’s no reason to have the mic moment, its stupid, breaks momentum, adds a really b rated horror flick kind of pregnant pause, and made the finish feel moronic. Other than that…everything was done beautifully. Mara and Ryan wasn’t supposed to be a high quality match, but it did exactly what you’d want a comedy match to do. Ryan looks like even more of a chickenshit loser, having to cheat to “beat a girl”. Mara looked good in the ring (both aesthetically and athletically), and she’s got a perfect excuse to turn it into something silly that we haven’t seen in forever, a Lumberjills match or something equivalent.
Dango’s match was beautiful, I’ll be honest, if he was a more main event talent, that would’ve felt more like a 5 star match. I think I only rated it a bit lower because Dango was great at what he did, but he wasn’t like a generational main event talent. But it was beautiful. Moose looked great in the loss, Ali needing interference 73 times keeps his gimmick strong, AJ Francis had a really good match, and Santana looked like a million bucks, Kaz looked badass, and we all went home happy since Nic botched his cash in.
I wish I had answers for where this magic was two nights ago. But if THIS is a representation of what we have to look forward to, THIS, is awesome.

AEW shares footage from after Dynamite.
After the Six Woman Tag defeat, The “Cosmic Babes of Wrath” regrouped. Willow apologized to Kris for that loss. If only Kris didn’t take the bullet for Willow… Kris says no, Willow’s not to blame. Harley says Harley is to blame, but Kris says no, it’s not her fault, either. Kris gets them to stop apologizing to say she’d take a bullet for either of them, any day of the week. As long as it meant she got to be out there with her two best friends. But she is curious… Thekla, you just pinned the AEW Women’s World Champion. So what does she wanna do about it?
Kris couldn’t be easier to find, or to get a title shot out of, because she believes in fighting and defending this title, for everyone who came before, and everyone who will hold it after. So Kris hopes Thekla’s win will keep her going until next they meet. Because if Thekla thinks she’s toxic, Kris thinks she likes the taste. Kris licks her fingers then spits it out. Will she crush the Toxic Spider once and for all? Or is #BigStatDaddy already caught in Thekla’s web?
Tony Schiavone is on stage.
Maximum Carnage returns and Schiavone has Phoenix welcome in… Stokely & FTR. The fans boo #BigStoke and the AEW World Tag Team Champions as the three walk- Er, well, Stoke is still wheeled out here… Anyway, the next challengers to these titles will be Don Callis Family’s Davis & Doyle. Schiavone hands Stoke the mic, fans chant “No Hoes Stokes!” but he says he knows a lot of people think he’s gonna say something bad about Don Callis and the Don Callis Family, but he won’t. He won’t be like everyone else and drag others down for the retweets, likes and memes.
Instead, he says congratulations to Jake Doyle & Mark Davis. They are now the #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Champions. And Stoke must admit, he’s jealous. Yes, there is some envy from Stokely. Doyle & Davis have it all! They have the “It Factor!” They have the strength, the size, the look! They’re two men you do not wanna meet in a dark alley. They are pro-wrestlers, and Stoke hates to say it, but he longs for the days when pro-wrestlers LOOKED like pro-wrestlers! Those two have EVERYTHING! Except… for the ability to beat the greatest tag team alive today, F T R!
Cash takes the mic and says you don’t just have to take Stoke’s word on that. Ask Sports Illustrated who the greatest team is today, and they will say it is F T R. You can ask ESPN! Who’s the greatest tag team today? It is F T R! Nobody has the résumé they have! No one has the body of work they have! And no one can do what they do! Mark Davis, Jake… Uh, something. Doyle? They’re good. But they’re not F T R good. Dax takes the mic and he asks Schiavone to do his job. Dax knows Schiavone is used to coming to shows and doing the bare minimum and still gettingn paid, but please, hold the mic. Schiavone does as told…
Dax says first of all, hello, Nigel. Hopefully he is okay. Thank God the past is the past and FTR isn’t messing with him today. Secondly, Dax wants Schiavone to ask what he hates most about the fans. Well then, Dax Harwood, one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, what do you hate about the fans? The fans chant, “We Have Hair! We Have Hair!” Dax says he hates most is the fact they live in a fantasy world. They think this is Toy Story or something! Every time they see something new and shiny, they think it’s the greatest of all time. Dax has no issue personally with Doyle & Davis. The issue is what surrounds them.
All the fans boost their egos up! They build the egos up! They make Davis & Doyle think they’re something! Someone said these two men look great on an 8-by-10, make ’em a tag team. And after one match and one match only, they get the chance to step into the ring with the greatest tag team for the richest prize in tag team wrestling today. This is a division Dax built! The division that FTR built with their hands, all the way up, and D&D get a shot after one match!? Not gonna happen! The fans boo, but Dax asks if they think coming from the slums of North Carolina that FTR never saw guys like them? They were the norm!
FTR walked around guys like D&D every day, they fought guys like D&D every day. So now, D&D have the luxury of calling their shot, of telling FTR when and where they want that shot. Just know that Dax doesn’t care what they’ve done in the past or will do in the future. Because in the present, they’re in the presence of the greatest team of all time! The fans boo more, but Dax just ignores it. Because just like all these people, D&D live their lives BEGGING to be FTR! The problem is, there can only be one, and you will find out there is only one. #TopGuysOut! FTR take their leave with Stokely, but will they prove that size does not matter?
CRU speaks.
Lacey Lane asks if Lio Rush & Action Andretti saw how The Rascalz are already in AEW. They look like such a good time, they should welcome them. Lio says that he will not let The Rascalz just waltz in here and take over. Time to remind people who they are. Action says if The Rascalz wanna wrestle the best AEW has to offer, then who better than The Sight to See and The Man of the Hour? This will be a welcome to AEW they never forget. CRU is ready to roll, but will The Rascalz just light ’em up?
Marina Shafir w/ Jon Moxley VS Zayda Steel w/ Christopher Daniels!
After last week’s match, The Problem already has beef with SkyFlight’s newest member, and now the fight is on. Will Zayda prove she is The Real Deal? Or will that deal be broken on her first Collision?
The bell rings and Marina eggs Zayda on. Then she SPITs at her! Zayda jumps on Marina to fire hands! Zayda then sunset flips, but Marina drags her up to whip and- NO, Zayda ducks the kick to DROPKICK! Marina staggers, comes back, and Zayda dodges to tilt-o-whirl RANA! Marina tumbles out, the fans rally up, and Zayda biulds speed. Zayda DIVES, but is caught?! Marina and Zayda still scrap on the outside, Marina pushes Zayda into the post, but then Zayda ducks! Marina CHOPS POST! Marina clutches her hand, Zayda SLAPS her! Zayda puts Marina in, goes up a corner, and MISSILE- NO, Marina dodges!
Zayda rolls through, and Marina BOOTS her down! Marina talks trash on Zayda, then glares at Daniels. Moxley says make her pay for that! Marina says she will, and she stands Zayda up. Marina puts Zayda in a corner to CHOP while Collision goes picture in picture.
Zayda sputters but Marina just stalks her. Zayda pushes Marina away, goes to another corner, but Marina storms up to KICK, KICK, and BOOT! Zayda slumps down, but Marina digs her foot in! The ref counts, Marina steps off at 4, and she says she has ’til five. Great, now Marina is copying Bryan Danielson, too. Marina shouts at Daniels, then goes to Zayda. Zayda fires hands, forearms, but Marina just tells her to do better! Then Marina SLAPS Zayda down! Zayda sputters her way to the ropes, but Marina TOSSES her out! Marina talks trash, then steps out after Zayda. Marina stands Zayda up, CHOPS her again, then stalks her around the way.
Daniels backs up for Marina to KNEE Zayda again and again. Zayda sputters, Marina refreshes the count, and Marina stalks Zayda again. Marina swings again, but Zayda dodges! Marina CHOPS APRON, and then Zayda CHOPS Marina! Zayda finally has control but Collision goes to break.
Maximum Carnage returns as Marina whips Zayda to the ropes. Zayda grabs the ropes to stop herself. Then she ELBOWS Marina, dodges, and CODE BREAKER! Marina staggers to a corner, Zayda runs up, SHINING WIZARD! The fans fire up with Zayda, she rolls and runs, but Marina clinches! URENAGE! Zayda is dazed, Moxley says that was a great throw, and Marina made it look easy. Marina has the full nelson, shifts to a cobra clutch, and tells her to say hi to mom. Ripcord and BODY BLOW! Then a CHOP! The fans rally, Marina dares the old man (a fan, apparently) to get in the ring and show her how it’s done.
Marina waistlocks, but Zayda switches. Marina pries free, BELL CLAPS, then MOTHER’S MILK!! Zayda TAPS, Marina wins!
Winner: Marina Shafir, by submission
Marina kisses Zayda on the head, having tucked her in for the night. Marina says she’s the real deal, but will she find her way to a golden opportunity soon enough?
Wait, The Don Callis Family is making their entrance now? They didn’t wait for Marina to exit, or Moxley for that matter. Moxley decides to stick around to see this one. Will the Aussie Arrow lead CLØN & The Walking Weapon to victory? Or will Zayda’s teammates succeed where she failed?
Six Man Tag: Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander & EL CLØN VS Team SkyFlight!
Don Callis of course joins commentary, where he and Moxley already argue about the differences between their factions. Moxley says the Death Riders stand for something, they’re masters of the craft, but DCF just want money and things. Callis is already scared as Moxley simply stands up, but he still tries to talk trash about how Konosuke Takeshita got that win on Moxley. Callis doesn’t like Moxley standing up so he leaves commentary. Moxley leaves to go catch up with Marina, only for Lance Archer & Rocky Romero to attack! They TOSS Moxley from ramp to floor, then send him into barriers!
The fans boo as Archer stands on Moxley and Rocky stomps away! But then Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia hurry out here to fight them off! The numbers aren’t in their favor, though! Callis returns to commentary, playing dumb, but his guys mug the Riders, until CLAUDIO shows up! Claudio CLOBBERS Archer, Kyle goes after him, and now it is Death Riders and DCF brawling all around ringside! The ref reprimands, he wants these teams to stand down, but someone brings a crutch in as a weapon! SkyFlight jump in to TRIPLE FLY! Down goes everyone and the fans fire up again! SkyFlight puts DCF in the ring, are we still getting a match? We find out, after the break!
Maximum Carnage returns and the bell rings. Darius Martin arm-drags Kyle down into an armlock, and the fans rally as Kyle stands. Darius wrenches, ELBOW BREAKER, and he tags Scorpio Sky. Scorpio goes up to AX HANDLE Kyle’s arm, then he RAMS the shoulder. It seems the other DCF members are still scrapping with the Death Riders, but are making their way out from ringside. Scorpio tags Dante Martin, Dante goes up to DOUBLE STOMP the arm! Dante then tags Darius, and Top Flight coordinates. Dante wrenches, Darius runs, LEAP FROG ATTACK on the arm! Kyle goes to a corner, Darius UPPERCUTS him, then wrenches the arm.
Darius RAMS Kyle’s arm, tags Scorpio, and Scorpio CLUBS the arm. Scorpio wrenches, but Kyle scoops to SLAM! The fans cheer, Kyle tags Clon, and Clon hurries to stomp Scorpio. Clon isolates an arm and stomps it down. Then Clon drags Scorpio over, tags Josh, and Josh stomps Scorpio’s arm. The fans boo Josh, but he drags Scorpio up. Scorpio fires body shots, but Josh CHOPS Scorpio! Josh scuffs Scorpio, brings him up, and fires forearms. Scorpio fires back, then Josh fires back! Scorpio CLAWS Josh’s eyes, then dodges Josh to tag Darius! Darius dodges Josh to BLAST the corner, then BOOTS Josh away.
Darius goes up and over, handspring and redirect! STANDING SPANISH FLY! Darius DIVES onto Kyle, then hurries back up! Darius steps in, GET OVER HERE! Cover, TWO! Darius tags Dante, Dante runs up but is sent back. Darius gives Dante the boost, then Dante returns the favor for the TORNADO DDT! Dante covers, TWO! Dante brings Josh up, tags Darius back in, and Darius reels Josh in. But Kyle goes after Dante’s foot! Scorpio BLASTS Kyle, but Josh avoids the Nosedive Bomb! Josh sends Darius into Dante, then GERMAN SUPLEXES Darius! Hot tag to Clon and he LARIATS in a corner! And forearm SMASH! And SOBAT! And KNEE, ELBOW, and GAMANGIRI!
Feed to Kyle for the MICHINOKU DRIVER! Clon goes up, DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS! DCF stands tall, the fans cheer Kyle as he flexes, but the ref reprimands. Clon rains down fists, then brings him around to whip. Clon ELBOWS Darius down, covers, TWO! Darius toughs it out, but Clon tags Kyle. They mug Darius, but Darius fights back! Darius ROCKS and CHOPS Kyle, then CHOPS again! Darius runs, but Kyle ELBOWS him down! Kyle BLASTS Dante & Scorpio off the corner, then soaks up the cheers and jeers while Collision goes picture in picture.
Kyle drags Darius up, the ref keeps Dante back, but that lets DCF mug Darius in the corner! Josh jumps in, they double whip, and Josh sends Kyle in. Darius BOOTS Kyle, ELBOWS Josh, then goes up. But they get his arms, crisscross, DOUBLE ICONOCLASM! Then another crisscross for a DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS! Cover, TWO! Kyle stays focused, stands Darius up, and bumps him off buckles. Kyle winds up and CHOPS! Darius sputters, Kyle tags Josh, and they mug Darius again. Tag to Clon, he CHOPS Darius, then he tags Josh. Josh looms over Darius, then crossface forearms! And again! Daniels coaches Darius, Darius fires body shots, then he fires forearms.
Darius runs, but Josh RAMS him! And NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Josh clamps onto Darius with an armlock and he grinds the shoulder. Darius endures, the fans rally behind him, and he fires hands from below! Darius ROCKS Josh and is free of the armlock. But Josh returns to BOOT Darius down! Josh looms over Darius, stands him up, and CLUBS him to the corner. Josh soaks up heat, but Darius kicks low. Josh comes back to ROCK Darius, and Maximum Carnage returns to single picture. The fans tell off Callis, but Josh CHOPS Darius! Darius CHOPS back! Josh CHOPS, Darius CHOPS, repeat!
Darius CHOPS, and CHOPS, but Josh shoves him! Josh blocks a boot, and has the ANKLE LOCK! Darius endures, hops around, and ENZIGIRIS! Kyle tags in, intercepts Darius, but Darius suplexes first! The fans fire up while both men are down! Darius and Kyle crawl, hot tags to Clon and Dante! Dante LARIATS Clon, LARIATS again, and then ducks ‘n’ dodges to springboard SHOTGUN! The fans fire up as Dante kips up! Dante runs, Clon dodges, but Dante slips out, SUPERKICKS Kyle, and ROCKS Clon! Dante goes up and around, GAMANGIRIS, then springboards to CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! The fans fire up with Dante as he brings Clon up.

Winners: Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander & EL CLØN, by pinfall
SkyFlight has crashed and burned in Phoenix, and Callis shakes hands with all his men. Josh Alexander warns Kenny Omega that this is what’s coming for him next week on Dynamite! But wait! The Alpha is here! The fans fire up as Konosuke Takeshita returns to AEW, though no longer IWGP World Heavyweight Champion after losing to Yota Tsuji at WrestleKingdom 20. Konosuke goes past Callis to hug it out with Kyle! Clon feels a little snubbed, but Konosuke raises Clon’s hand. Callis is perhaps woefully ignorant again, will this lead to #ProtoShita doing things their way, not his?
Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong.
Lexy Nair is now with Freshly Squeezed & The Savior of the Backbreaker, and she congratulates Roddy on his big win just last night as he defeated Hechicero to become the #1 contender to the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. Roddy shouts, “CLAUDIO! I told you I wasn’t done with you and the Death Riders. And now I’ll break your back and take your title.” Cassidy says, “That’s right.” He offers a high-five, but Roddy says no. “This isn’t a me and you thing, this is a me thing.” But wasn’t Cassidy there to support Roddy in Mexico? Roddy says no, he wasn’t. Cassidy says that’s only because Roddy wouldn’t let him in! Cassidy is here!
Roddy storms off, but then Mark Briscoe brings him back. Mark knows that Roddy knows that Roddy is down to conglomerate wherever and whenever. Thing is, they are like gold magnets. Roddy’s got that title match, he should hang around. But hey, first and foremost, Mark makes a declaration. He wants to bring forth a vengeful manifestation full of pain and retaliation! That is to say, he is talking to EL CLON! Briscoe puts blame on Clon for why Mark’s main man, Hologram, is out. Clon ain’t nothing but a science experiment gone wrong! Mark saw Clon and Komander have one hell of a match in Texas, and Clon was victorious.
So like Mark said, he ain’t ducking or dodging. El Clon, what you say? Showdown in Texas for the TNT Championship, next week on Collision! And then they can conglomerate like always. Like the old saying, when you down to conglomerate, you’re happy to share your plate. Whether you speak English or Espanol, you spread the butter and pass the roll. Cassidy says that’s a classic. Roddy has no idea what that means. Roddy leaves, Mark follows, and Cassidy asks if Lexy knows that saying. She does not. But is the Sussex County Chicken underestimating how dangerous the corrupted copy can be? Or will Mark still be the Face of TNT?
MJF speaks.
“Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, Ric Flair, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. What do these men all have in common? Well, it’s the fact that we’re traveling champions. See, I’m not afraid to show everybody, no matter how big or how small, no matter what part of the country, no matter what part of the world, that I’m better than them. This match tonight in Maine will be the first of many title defenses, many victorious title defenses, to my name. This second title reign will make the first seem short and sweet. My name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and I’m better than you, and you know it. And also, I will go down as a man with a greater legacy than all three of those individuals that I mentioned combined.”
The Scumbag is exponentially arrogant once again after winning big in Limitless Wrestling, but we’ll hear from him again next Wednesday. What will the AEW World Champion have planned when the Road to Revolution goes through Orlando?
Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford VS Viva Van & Danielle Kamela!
The Megasus once again has her Superbad Girl back by her side, ready to continue where they left off. Will they storm up the ranks towards those AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships? Or will they greatly underestimate the Hellbent Vixen & Coach Kam?
The teams sort out and Megan runs up to LEAPING LARIAT Kamela! The fans fire up, Megan sucker punches Viva, and then she deadlift SAIDOS Viva up and over the ropes! The fans fire up, and Megan has targets in each corner. Marina appears ringside to watch as Megan SPLASHES Kamela, SPLASHES Viva, then whips Viva into Kamela! Megan runs in and DOUBLE SPLASHES! Megan reels Viva in, fireman’s carries, then she scoops Kamela! “BOW DOWN!” FALL AWAY SAMOAN DROP COMBO! The fans fire up again and Megan TOSSES Viva back out. Then she drags Kamela up, and Ford wants in!
The fans cheer as Megan tags Ford! Megan Electric Chair Lifts Kemal, Ford is up top, DOOMSDAY DEVICE! Cover, Ford & Megan win!
Winners: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, by pinfall
Marina celebrates with Megan & Penelope, but WAIT! The Timeless Love Bombs are here! Did they just come from poolside? Toni & Mina have mics, and Toni says, “Freaks of Phoenix, lend me your ears. Marina Shafir, you can’t hide behind those two skirts. They say behind every great mean is a great woman. But behind these two slop tarts is an even filthier slop tart! And I say that it’s time that you all had your sl1ts sown shut!” Didn’t even realize that word needed censoring… Marina just smirks, but Mina says they haven’t forgotten what happened 3v2! Mina & Toni will not stop until they make you all pay!
Toni tells Ford that she’ll just rip off the other arm to slap Megan in the head with it! And Marina, you want to death ride? Hop on this caboose and meet your maker! The only difference between Toni and God is that God doesn’t wear lipstick! Mina says chin up, tits out, and watch out for these Love Bombs! The robes come off, Toni & Mina say mwah, mwah, SHOVE IT! Then they dance and frolic their way backstage. When and where will we see things get wild between all these warrior women?
Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana.
Lexy brings up that on Dynamite, we saw the return of Kenny Omega, a Founding Father and EVP of AEW, and- Swerve asks, “Say what?” Well, Omega is facing Josh Alexander next Wednesday on Dynamite. What are Swerve’s plans to get back in the title hunt? Swerve says that’s simple, because it is the same as always: win. Then speaking of that, someone requested this time with Swerve, and that is Kevin Knight. The Jet steps in and says Swerve is just the man he wanted to see. Knight thought a lot on what Swerve said last Dynamite, and Knight can’t get over how Swerve said the word, “Future.”
It triggered Knight a little, can’t lie. Because whenever Knight steps into the AEW ring, all The Jet keeps hearing is how he is the future, when he’s really the here and now. Ever since he took out Darby Allin, since he beat Kazuchika Okada, Jet knows that maybe it is time he start using the word “present” to let the people know that the future IS now. Swerve says if he didn’t know any better, these sound like fighting words. Now, before this can be a thing, how about Knight go win something of value. Doesn’t he have that World Trios title match tonight? Go do that, then they can talk. But what Swerve said, he meant it then, he means it now, Knight IS the future.
And that’s not just here in AEW, but of this business. In fact, Swerve sees Knight as a future main eventer, as well. Just don’t take another five to six years to get there. The Realest laughs and heads out, will this be motivation enough for Knight to win against The Opps?
Ricochet is here!
Phoenix is annoyed to see The One & Only AEW National Champion, but he’s going to join commentary to watch two men fight for a shot at said title. Will Maximum Carnage be about that Tarzan Life? Or will the Pride of Professional Wrestling hit a homerun and head for the title?
AEW National Championship #1 Contender’s Match: “Jungle” Jack Perry VS Anthony Bowens!
Ricochet tells Jack to stop looking at him, but then he has to tell Bowens the same. The bell rings and the fans cheer as Jack and Bowens shake hands. They circle, tie up, and Bowens powers Jack to a corner. The ref counts, Bowens backs off at 4, and Bowens throws up the scissors. The fans cheer, Jack and Bowens reset, and they circle again. They tie up, Jack headlocks, but Bowens powers out the back. Bowens headlocks, but Jack arm-drags free. Jack steps to Bowens and the fans cheer. Bowens says okay, and the two reset. Jack headlocks, Bowens wrenches to headlock, but Jack powers out. Bowens RUNS Jack over while Ricochet keeps putting himself over, and things speed up. Jack hurdles, Bowens stops the hip toss, but then Jack handsprings through a hip toss! Jack slips around to waistlock, Bowens bucks the O’Conner, but Jack trips Bowens to cover. ONE and Bowens sweeps to cover, ONE! The fans cheer but Ricochet boos the standoff, and Jack offers a scissor finger? The fans cheer that!
Bowens says okay, and they scissor finger! Then Jack BITES the fingers?! The fans are torn, the ref reprimands, but Jack CHOPS! And CHOPS! Jack knuckle locks to go up, up, but Bowens yanks him down! Jack lands bad on his banana! But Bowens makes it worse by shaking the ropes! The fans fire up, then Bowens scissors the fingers before he CHOPS! Jack flops to the floor, Bowens tells Ricochet that he’s coming for the title! Ricochet says focus on the match. Bowens goes out to whip Jack, but Jack stops short. Jack ELBOWS Bowens, goes up, but Bowens Electric Chair Lifts! And he SLAMS Jack on the apron!
Bowens fires up, the fans are with him, and Ricochet says that’s the one good thing he’s seen Bowens do. Bowens puts Jack in the ring, but Jack returns to slide, wheelbarrow, and BULLDOG on the floor! Double-edged for Jack there, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Jack waves to the ref, and perhaps to Doc Sampson, saying his hip or tailbone is bothering him now. Doc checks Jack’s back, and it seems whatever it was pops back into place. Jack then hobbles after Bowens to CHOP! Bowens takes a seat, Jack CHOPS again! Jack sits with Bowens for a photo op, then he brings Bowens up. Bowens puts Jack in the seat to CHOP! And ROCK! And then Bowens climbs up to rain down fists! Bowens then says “SUCK IT!” before he puts Jack back in the ring. Bowens takes his time stepping in, and he stomps Jack around. Jack body blows in return, and that was a good one as Bowens has to back off.
Bowens BOOTS Jack, but Jack CHOPS! Bowens staggers away again, and Jack fires up. Jack eggs Bowens on, Bowens storms up and CHOPS! Jack CHOPS, Bowens goes to a corner, and Collision goes to break.
Maximum Carnage returns and Jack dodges a lariat to JUMP DDT! Cover, TWO! Bowens stays in this, but Jack fires up! Ricochet says Jack is Scraff the Squirrel from Ice Age, just keeps finding ways to survive and come back. Jack aims from a corner, time for a sacrifice! GLASS- NO, Bowens dodges! Then he blocks a kick, spins Jack, and Rock, Paper, Scissors SUPERKICK! Jack falls, Bowens fires up, and the fans are with him! Bowens goes corner to corner, he blocks a boot, and he puts Jack in the ropes! ENZIGIRI and SIDEWINDER! Cover, TWO! Jack survives, to Ricochet’s point, and Ricochet is getting mad.
Bowens huffs ‘n’ puffs, the fans duel, and Bowens stands Jack up. ARRIV- NO, Jack arm-drags free, then SUPERKICKS! Jack runs, but Bowens catches him to THE ARRIVAL! Cover, TWO!! Jack survives, but Bowens runs to SHINING WIZARD! Cover, TWO!! Jack survives again and Bowens is beside himself! The fans rally up while Bowens pounds the mat. Bowens drags Jack up, slips around, torture rack and- NO, Jack rolls him up, TWO!! Bowens escapes in time, but Jack goes to backslide! Bowens flips that around, then rolls to a cradle, TWO!! Both men stand, Jack SUPERKICKS! But Bowens LARIATS!
The fans fire up and Bowens feeds off the energy! Bowens winds up, runs, but Jack goes the other way! JUMP KNEE! Jack reloads, GLASS BREAKER KNEE!! Cover, Jack wins!
Winner: Jack Perry, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the AEW National Champion)
Ricochet is even more annoyed than he was before. Jack still offers Bowens a hand and Bowens accepts. The fans cheer the sportsmanship, but Ricochet says he’ll smack Jack in the mouth. Ricochet survived going to CMLL, but will- JACK ATTACKS! The fans fire up as Jack HAMMERS away on Ricochet, then chases him to the back! Will Jack hunt Ricochet all the way to their title rematch? Can the One & Only survive what’s coming for him?
Death Riders speak.
Jon Moxley says, “We’ve given the Don Callis ‘Family’ a lot of space. Live and let live. Businessmen doing business things. This match you lit tonight… That’s something different entirely.” Pac says, “Who the F*** do you think you are, hm?! Have you forgotten who we are? Have you forgotten what we do?” Daniel Garcia asks the DCF, “Do you guys realize what you guys have done? You guys have crossed the line that there is no coming back from. You guys think that you’re a family because you buy each other nice dinners and nice clothes? That is not a family, you don’t know what a family is! You know what a family is?
“A family is when the whole world hates you,” as Garcia points to Yuta, “and you’ve still got your man’s back! A family is when nobody believes in you,” as he points to Marina, “you still step up to the plate and keep swinging. A family is when you’re at the lowest point in your career,” as he points to himself, “people come knocking at your door and offer you a better life. That’s what a family is, and you don’t know nothing about that.” Moxley steps back up to tell, “Mr. Callis… I’ve been in this game 22 years. I’ve seen every type of snake and carny and slime. The lowest of the low. I’ve seen ’em all in this business. So yeah, I know you. I know exactly who you are.
“Of all the bad people in professional wrestling… I’m the worst. When I have to be.” Marina steps up, spits out her gum, and calls the DCF a bunch of b*tches. Claudio does a quick Catholic cross for DCF, and BREAKING NEWS! It will be a Six Man STREET FIGHT! Moxley, Yuta & Garcia VS Hechicero, Rocky Romero & Lance Arhcer! Will not even Callis’ soul (if he still has one) be spared now that this is war?
AEW World Trios Championships: The Opps VS Hangman Page & #JetSpeed!
Speaking of war, Samoa Joe started one when he betrayed The Millennial Cowboy all the way back in November, then escalated inside that steel cage. AEW World Championship aspirations aside, this war must end here and now! Will Joe, Shibata & Hobbs prove they are #NeverLacking? Or will they be desperately lacking after fighting Hangman, Knight & Bailey?
The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who survives this Maximum Carnage Collision!
The trios sort out and Hangman starts against Joe. The fans fire up, but then Joe tags out to Shibata. Hangman is annoyed but the fans still chant for “COWBOY S*IT!” Bailey says he wants in, so Hangman tags him. Now it’s about “SPEEDBALL S*IT!” as Bailey circles with The Wrestler. Shibata offers a handshake? Bailey bows, then accepts, but Shibata kicks low! Shibata CLUBS Bailey, CLUBS him again, and he whips Bailey again. Bailey handsprings, Shibata dodges, but then Bailey dodges to fire LIGHTNING KICKS! And ENZIGIRI! Bailey bumps Shibata off buckles, he tags Knight, and they CHOP!
JetSpeed double whip, DOUBLE HIP TOSS, then KNEE DROP to UFO SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Shibata sputters but Knight shows off by doing squats. Knight stands Shibata up, Shibata ROCKS Knight, then CLUBS him. Shibata calls to The Opps, and he whips Knight into the corner. Tag to Hobbs and he storms up on Knight. Knight fires forearms again and again, but Hobbs blocks to LARIAT! Joe laughs seeing Knight folded up. Hobbs drags Knight up, scoops, but Knight slips free! Hot tag to Hangman! The fans fire up as Hangman fires off on Hobbs! Hangman whips, Hobbs reverses, and Hobbs LARIATS first!
Hobbs mocks the Cowboy with finger guns, then he CLUBS Hangman. Hobbs drags Hangman over, tag to Shibata, and Shibata runs up, but Hangman scoops! FALL AWAY SLAM! Hangman kips up, runs corner to corner, and he LARIATS Shibata! Hangman keeps moving, but Shibata follows to BOOT Hangman int he corner! Shibata runs, Hangman follows, LARIAT! Hangman feints Shibata, Alabama Lifts, but Shibata sunset flips it! Hangman rolls through and SLIDING LARIATS! Cover, TWO! Hangman drags Shibata up, he wrenches the arm and tags Bailey. Bailey slingshots to CLUB Shibata’s arm.
Bailey KICKS, but Shibata blocks to ROCK Bailey! And ELBOW him down! Shibata snapmares Bailey by the ropes, then stomps him! Bailey goes to the apron, Shibata goes out to join him, and he APRON SNAP SUPLEXES! Shibata then rolls Bailey off the apron to snap suplex to the floor! Joe likes what he sees but the fans are torn while Collision goes picture in picture.
Joe nods as Shibata keeps after Bailey and puts him in the ring. Shibata covers, TWO! Shibata covers gain, TWO! Another cover, TWO! Bailey is showing his true grit, but Shibata stands him up to wrench. Tag to Joe, they mug Bailey, and Joe waits for Bailey to rise. JAB, and then a bump off buckles! Joe fires off more JABS, then a flurry, and a RIDGE HAND! The ref reprimands while Bailey slumps down, but Joe just smirks as he drags Bailey up. Bailey fires body shots, but Joe KNEES low! Joe whips Bailey to the corner, runs up, BACK BODY BLOCK and PELE! Cover, TWO! Bailey toughs it out, but Joe Mongolian Chops him!
Joe kicks Bailey around, tags Hobbs in, and Hobbs ELBOW DROPS Bailey’s back! Hobbs hauls Bailey up, suplexes, and holds him up! Bailey endures as we go to TEN before the SLAM! Hobbs taunts Hangman, goes back to Bailey, and he tags Shibata. Shibata stomps Bailey around, brings him up again, and Mongolian Chops! And ELBOWS him down! And ELBOWS again! Shibata stomps Bailey around, then stays between him and the corner. Shibata tags Joe, they mug Bailey with a CHOP, then Joe smirks. Maximum Carnage returns to single picture again, and Joe clamps onto Bailey with a neck wrench.
The fans rally as Bailey endures, and Bailey fights up. Bailey fires body shots, then ROCKS Joe, but Joe HEADBUTTS! Bailey stumbles away, Joe whips corner to corner, and Joe runs up, but Bailey BOOTS him! Bailey goes up, up, and MISSILE DROPKICKS! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Bailey crawls, but so does Joe, hot tags to Hangman and Hobbs! Hangman dodges Hobbs to BLAST Shibata! Then Hangman BOOTS Hobbs, and Triangle Jump LARIATS Shibata! Hangman doges Hobbs again to PLANCHA onto Joe! Hangman HAMMERS away on Joe and the fans fire up! Hobbs storms over and drags Hangman up!
Hangman ROCKS Hobbs, then DUMPS him out! Hangman hurries up the corner while Phoenix fires up! ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Down go Hobbs & Joe! The fans fire up for “COWBOY S*IT!” and Hangman puts Hobbs in the ring. Hangman goes to the apron, he brings Hobbs up, and Hangman Alabama- NO, Hobbs fights the lift! Hobbs scoops, but Bailey slips in! LEG SWEEP! Hobbs falls on the apron! Bailey then MOONSAULT KNEE-DROPS on the apron! Hobbs’ jaw took most of that, and Hangman tags Knight for him to springboard in! FLYING- NO Hobbs turns that into an URENAGE! Tag to Joe and Joe gets Knight up!
But Knight fires forearms on Joe first! Knight runs, but Joe SNAP POWERSLAMS! Cover, Bailey & Hangman break it! Shibata & Joe stomp Hangman & Bailey out, then Joe tags Hobbs. Hobbs brings Knight up, he whips Knight to the corner, then runs up to SPLASH! Joe ELBOWS Knight, and Shibata HYDRAULIC DROPKICKS! Then a SNAP HALF HATCH! Joe SENTONS! Hobbs covers, Hangman breaks it in time! The fans fire up but Joe has Bailey in a COQUINA CLUTCH! Shibata and Hangman brawl, then Shibata slips around, SLEEPER! Hobbs stalks Knight while the ref reprimands the others, and Hobbs whips Knight for a SPINE-
NO, sunset flip!! High stack, SPACE COWBOYS WIN!!
Winners: Hangman Page & JetSpeed, by pinfall (NEW AEW World Trios Champions)
Everyone is shocked, even the winners! Hangman promised to take everything from Joe, and he just took the last bit of gold Joe still had! Hangman hugs it out with JetSpeed while The Opps storm off in anger. Will The Opps regroup and gameplan their revenge? Meanwhile, Swerve walks out on stage, and he smirks as he and Knight stare down. Knight got that big win Swerve dared him to get, but will Knight get another one on Dynamite? Or will AEW still be whose house?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here, with some awesome story developments as we’re two months out from Revolution. For one, we’re finally getting into the Don Callis Family VS Death Riders feud they’ve teased over the last few months. Marina Shafir of course beat Zayda Steel, but Zayda got a great showing, a lot better than I expected. Then DCF stepping on the Death Riders’ toes, turning things into a brawl, and still winning against SkyFlight, all really good. That was a great group promo from Death Riders, and the Six Man Street Fight will be great stuff. Though, you can bet it’ll turn into more than just 3v3, so it’ll be rather unpredictable.
Konosuke showing up and hugging Kyle is great foreshadowing. I can definitely see #ProtoShita being the leaders of the DCF splinter group, and they could pull the trigger at Grand Slam: Australia 2 in February. The fans would be behind it given it’d be Kyle and Konosuke. The real question would be who joins them. I would think Mark Davis joins Kyle as old friends, and with Davis goes Doyle, and that’s already a strong four to start with. Speaking of Davis & Doyle, good promo from FTR but FTR drone on a little too much these days. Their match with Doyle & Davis will be great, and if D&D choose Grand Slam: Australia for the title match, it’d be amazing if Davis & Doyle won there for the Aussie crowd to cheer another of their guys.
Though, with no women’s wrestlers in DCF (yet), Shafir is left to default to Megan, Ford, and the Timeless Love Bombs. Of course Megan & Ford won Ford’s return match, with Megan doing the majority of the work. That probably would’ve been how they did things even before Ford was out with injury. Megan & Ford VS Love Bombs feels a bit like making up for not seeing that in the tournament, but I could see Marina interfering so her side can win. This secret admirer could also show themselves, turn out to be a female wrestler, and then we get a Six Woman Tag. Though, does that mean no more Conglomeration love triangle romcom?
Very good promo from The Conglomeration to set up Briscoe VS Clon and hype up Claudio VS Roddy. I would think Claudio retains his title, they’re only doing this match on TV and not in CMLL. But are they really ending Clon’s win streak already? Not sure how to feel about that. Very good promo from The Cosmic Babes of Wrath to put it on Thekla to choose when and where the title match will be. Grand Slam: Australia could again be a choice to really power up the card, but that only leaves a month after that to build a new challenge for Revolution. Well, that is if Kris retains. If Thekla wins because of shenanigans, we could get Kris VS Thekla 2 for Revolution.
Andrade of course beat Angelico in his AEW return match, but the real purpose of that match was to get Heel heat. He kept toying with Angelico to annoy the fans, and as a Heel, he needs fans to boo him. Eddie & Ortiz VS GYV was a solid tag match, and as I said for ROH, I appreciate they’re booking a story that is on both brands. The only problem with that is, if fans didn’t watch ROH (or even World’s End Zero Hour), they don’t understand the heat behind this match. Either way, Eddie & Ortiz getting a sneaky win on Heel GYV was clever, and means we’ll definitely get a rematch. Eddie & Ortiz might be on a slow burn towards the tag titles with this.
Very fun promo from The Rascalz, I am surprised they pulled this off so soon. Trey Miguel’s absence is interesting, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see if he’s the one man who didn’t sign with AEW. CRU having a response promo so soon was also a surprise. I know wrestlers are supposed to almost always put themselves over, but Action claiming CRU is one of the best when they haven’t done much of anything since forming… I mean, Rascalz are winning anyway, but still. Great match from Perry VS Bowens, and I’m a little surprised Perry won to get another shot at the National title so soon. But even then, I would think The Bucks hold off The Gates of Agony so that Perry and Ricochet will have a fair 1v1, and who knows who wins that.
And great main event for the World Trios Championships. Unfortunately, the news that Hobbs was on his way out getting out absolutely gave away how this would end. But them adding a promo from Swerve with Knight to set up their own 1v1 was good, and Knight getting the pin on Hobbs fit perfectly with that promo. Knight and Bailey have gold in AEW, Knight VS Swerve will be a great match on Dynamite, but The Opps might have to figure out how to recover with Hook kayfabing neck pain and Hobbs now disappearing. Perhaps we’ll get the first graduates of The Opps Dojo? AKA moving some ROH regulars up to AEW maybe?
My Score: 8.9/10
