Chairshot Staff Picks: Night Of Champions

The Summer of Cena is upon us, with Night of Champions. DP and I dubbed this event the Summer Rumble, considering we determine two challengers for SummerSlam who get a top tier championship opponent. Gotta say, personally, I LOVE me some early afternoon PLEs!

• AJ – Karrion Kross – Sami’s Judgement is clouded with Scarlett actually telling him to go for the kill.
• Andrew – Sami Zayn – Who knows with Kross.
• Dave – Sami Zayn – I don’t see Sami losing in Saudi Arabia, or at least not here.
• DJ – Karrion Kross
• DPP – Karrion Kross
• Jason – Sami Zayn – “Hometown” pop.
• Patrick – Karrion Kross
• Rey – Sami Zayn – It’s Saudi, so it’s Sami time!
• Rob – Karrion Kross
• Greg – Sami Zayn – He’s a hero in Saudi Arabia, I don’t see him losing.

Tunney’s Take: Sami Zayn – This is a really tough one for me. I could see either man picking up the victory.

Chairshot Pick – Sami Zayn 6-5

• AJ – Rhea Ripley – They need Raquel to look at Rox-C and go, “Alright I need some form of help.”.
• Andrew – Rhea Ripley – Easy pick.
• Dave – Rhea Ripley – With Liv out, I don’t see much happening for Raquel.
• DJ – Rhea Ripley
• DPP – Rhea Ripley
• Jason – Rhea Ripley – I mean, c’mon.
• Patrick – Rhea Ripley
• Rey -Raquel Rodriguez – Raquel wins due to Roxy’s interference.
• Rob – Raquel Rodriguez
• Greg – Raquel Rodriguez – That stipulation can support a Raquel Rodriguez win with Roxanne Perez interference, setting her up to be half of the tag champs and a match for Evolution.

Tunney’s Take: Rhea Ripley – Dominant win for Rhea. I’m expecting this to be a good street fight with plenty of Judgment Day interference. 

Chairshot Pick – Rhea Ripley 8-3

• AJ – Solo Sikoa – Too much fuckery and Solo wins because of DQ. Cobb gets pissed off and does Tour of the Islands during the match.
• Andrew – Solo Sikoa – Solo’s schtick is getting old with no gold.
• Dave – Jacob Fatu – Likely by DQ due to interference by JC.
• DJ – Jacob Fatu
• DPP – Jacob Fatu
• Jason – Jacob Fatu – The Samoan Werewolf separates entirely from The Bloodline.
• Patrick – Jacob Fatu
• Rey – Jacob Fatu – Jacob ain’t losing that title yet.
• Rob – Solo Sikoa
• Greg – Solo Sikoa – Solo wins when another member of the dynasty helps him but, Jacob wins it back eventually.

Tunney’s Take: Jacob Fatu – Yadadamean??!?!?!?!?!?!!!!?!?!!!!

• AJ – Jade Cargill – It’s to setup Jade vs Naomi because Title Shot of Queen and Ms. Money in the Bank.
• Andrew – Jade Cargill – Jade wins to help legitimize her push.
• Dave – Jade Cargill – Toughest one to call. I’ll go with Jade. She needs it more.
• DJ – Jade Cargill
• DPP – Jade Cargill
• Jason – Jade Cargill – Queen Jade!
• Patrick – Asuka
• Rey – Asuka – She deserves this.
• Rob – Jade Cargill
• Greg – Asuka – Probably me being stupid, but I’m going with Asuka vs Iyo at SummerSlam. Assuming they remember Iyo has a title since she hasn’t defended since WrestleMania.

Tunney’s Take: Jade Cargill – I’m hoping Asuka can bring the best out of Jade in the ring. Gimme Jade v Bianca somehow at SummerSlam with a lurking MITB briefcase wielding Naomi.

• AJ – Randy Orton – KOTR, MITB and Royal Rumble (Edge, Brock and Sheamus). Randy gets another shot. Cody chases.
• Andrew – Randy Orton – Because I’m biased.
• Dave – Cody Rhodes – Another tough one. I feel like Cody has to win so we get the big rematch at Summer Slam.
• DJ – Cody Rhodes
• DPP – Cody Rhodes
• Jason – Randy Orton – I want nothing to do with King Cody or Cody v Cena. Save us Randy!
• Patrick – Randy Orton
• Rey – Cody Rhodes – Unfortunately, Cody wins. Again.

• Greg – Cody Rhodes – Monday Night Raw… Night of Champions… SummerSlam Night 2… #LOLCODYWINS

Tunney’s Take: Cody Rhodes – I mean, I guess lol (hands raised shrug emoji). We have already seen John and Randy. We have already seen John and Cody. Is John losing at SummerSlam (hands raised shrug emoji)? I suppose Randy could go after Gunther but… (hands raised shrug emoji).

• AJ – John Cena – Punk chokes, Killings attacks and Cena wins lol.
• Andrew – John Cena – Cena wins lol.
• Dave – John Cena – For kind of the same reason as Cody winning.
• DJ – CM Punk – By DQ.
• DPP – John Cena
• Jason – John Cena – Enjoy that blood covered etcetera etcetera Punker.
• Patrick – John Cena
• Rey – John Cena – C’mon bro.
• Rob – John Cena
• Greg – John Cena – Cody can’t beat Cena for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam unless he’s still the WWE Champion at SummerSlam!

Tunney’s Take: John Cena – As much as I would go crazy if Punk won the title here, we ALL know John is not losing that championship at NOC, period. period …could DJ’s DQ W for Punk give us a triple threat at SummerSlam? Probably not, but it’s fun to think about.
