HPW and HXS TV set the scene!

“Time is on my side, yes it is. Time is on my side, yes it is.” At least, those who win tonight will be saying that. Because tonight, time will be a major factor as a whopping SEVEN matches will be on crunch time! The Beat the Clock Challenge is going bigger and badder than ever, but only the fastest can win the challenge! But don’t feel bad for the others, because winning is still what matters. The six winners that fall short of the challenge will still move on to another challenge, the Eventide Challenge!

And in the main event, Osphala defends the Termina Championship against one of the greatest TCW Champions ever in Igos du Ikana, meaning he’s up against a massive homefield advantage! Whose summertime will be truly golden? HPW Termina Velocity in the Pirates’ Fortress starts now!

The King of Hyrule, Nicholas Foolyere, is here!

The fans cheer as the HPW General Manager walks out on stage. He waves and welcomes everyone to the show, “Right here in the Pirates’ Fortress!” The fans cheer again, and he says tonight, fourteen stars of HPW will battle in perhaps the biggest Beat the Clock Challenge ever. But now, it is time to reveal the seven match-ups! Foolyere directs us to the tron, and the card is revealed! Grim Creeper VS Riju! Sidon VS Scaldera! Onox VS Yunobo! Donny B. Kool VS Hollywood ReDead! Thunderbird VS Harlequin! Groose VS Ghirahim! And last but not least… Kage VS Zant!

The fans applaud the match card, and Foolyere says, “Without further ado, let’s get to the action!” With that, Riju makes her entrance and the fans cheer. Will she score one for the Gerudo Sisterhood? Or will the UnderWorld Order’s underling ruin the fun?

Beat the Clock Challenge: Riju VS Grim Creeper!

The bell rings and the clock is ticking. Riju and Creeper circle, feel things out, then Creeper shoots in and waistlocks. Riju fights the lift, Creeper shoves Riju to ropes and O’Conner Rolls, TWO! Creeper goes out to the apron and Riju runs up. Riju slides out and trips Creeper! Creeper smacks off the apron, and Riju whips him hard into railing! The fans fire up and Riju keeps going as she whips Creeper hard into more railing! The fans fire up more while Creeper hobbles away. Riju pursues after Creeper, SMACKS him off the apron, then puts Creeper in the ring. Riju stomps Creeper, then goes to the corner!

The fans rally and Riju kicks her way to the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Creeper lets go with one hand, but then he STOMPS Riju’s arm down! The Underling is taken down, and the clock stops! The official time is four minutes, 26 seconds! Riju has secured a spot on the Treasure Island card, but will she hit the jackpot? Or will someone else take that prize?

Tali & Shabonne are watching backstage.

The Desert Colossus and her manager are not impressed with Riju’s victory. Tali says, “And where does she get off interfering in my title match?” Shabonne agrees, lil’ Riju stuck her nose in their business for no good reason. But they can leave Riju for later. Treasure Island matters more, and Shabonne worked out a deal with King Nicholas. Tali gets a rematch with Ladrona for the Goddess Championship. Nice! But…! There is a condition. Tali frowns, already not liking this. If Tali loses the match, she can no longer challenge for the Goddess Championship while Ladrona is champion. What?!

Shabonne calms Tali down and says it’ll be fine. Ladrona barely survived the last time, and with Riju doing some other thing for Treasure Island, she can’t show up to help Ladrona. It’ll be Ladrona all by herself, and she’ll get demolished by the Desert Colossus! Tali accepts that and is liking this more and more. Will the Thief Girl get busted and lose the gold? Or are Tali & Shabonne underestimating her already?

Beat the Clock Challenge: Sidon VS Scaldera!

The Zora Prince and the Burning Abomination are truly like water and fire, and this one’s going to get hot. But can someone win in under 4:25? Will there be a winner at all?

Igos KICKS Osphala in the back again, Osphala staggers forward, but then he blocks Igos’ next kick! Osphala KICKS Igos’ leg, UPPERCUTS him, then runs, but Igos follows to KNEE Osphala at the ropes! The fans fire up as Igos fires off fast hands! Sahasrahla reprimands and counts, Igos stops to then BOOT Osphala to the outside! The fans fire up again while Igos goes out after Osphala. Igos stalks Osphala around the way, and they head towards commentary, much to commentary’s dismay.

Igos grabs Osphala, but Osphala blocks the smack off the desk! Osphala throws a body shot, and he SMACKS Igos off the desk! Rusl is again upset he has to secure his drink, but Osphala says there’s more where that came from. Osphala brings Igos up, BACK SUPLEX onto the desk! The fans boo and commentary isn’t exactly happy, either. Osphala hears the ring count, refreshes it at 7, then goes back to Igos. Osphala drags Igos off the desk, puts him in the ring, and grabs the legs. Osphala ties them up and pulls back, SAND CASTLE! The fans boo as Igos endures being bent up! Igos reaches out but the ropes are so far away!

Igos claws at the mat, but then he grabs Osphala’s hair! Sahasrahla reprimands but Igos CLAWS Osphala’s face! Osphala lets go of the hold and Sahasrahla reprimands Igos more but Igos doesn’t listen. Igos stalks behind Osphala, and dragon sleepers for the GRAVESTONE! Osphala flails and reaches out but now he’s the one so far from the ropes! The fans rally as hard as they can, chanting “TAP! TAP! TAP!” Osphala kicks around, and he manages to touch the ropes! Sahasrahla calls for the break but Igos drags Osphala away! Igos drops into body scissors! Osphala flails more but the fans chant “TAP! TAP! TAP!”

Osphala reaches out, but he’s also fading! Sahasrahla checks on Osphala, the hand drops once! The hand drops twice! The hand- NO, Osphala comes back to life! Osphala powers up and pries the legs open! Osphala rolls back to a cover! TWO! Igos lets go in time and Osphala can breathe again! Both men hurry to their feet, Osphala takes a swing but Igos dodges to QUEBRADA! Direct hit but Igos doesn’t cover! He waits for Osphala to get back up, and Igos fires off fast hands! Osphala ducks a shot, SMACKS Igos, then goes for a leg only to get a KNEE in the face! Osphala stumbles, ELEGY OF EMPTINESS!! Cover, Igos wins!

Winner: Igos du Ikana, by pinfall (NEW HPW Termina Champion)

The crowd goes wild as Igos once again reigns over Termina! And bigger still, he is now a DOUBLE CHAMPION! Igos holds up both belts and he gets quite a bit of pyro. Will the Ruler of Ruin rebuild his kingdom so that it is from sea to shining sea?

My Thoughts:

The irony: writing short/fast matches was just as tricky as writing long matches. But I got it done with time to spare! Was any of it predictable? I feel like it might’ve been but seeing as how I wrote it, I can’t be sure. I do feel like Kage winning and wanting the top title is a good move to add some intrigue to Treasure Island 6. The same goes for Igos winning the Termina title back, because now he’s got two titles to defend at a show that is all about titles being on the line.

Mitchell’s Hyrule Puro-Resu News Report! (7/8/25)

Management has a decision to make!

Published

on

Set a course for Treasure Island, again!

Kage won the Beat the Clock Challenge, but he wants a shot at a title that’s already spoken for! How will HPW Management address his demands?

A post shared by Steven Mitchell (@hyrulepuroresu)

The Eventide Challenge is set!

While the Hero’s Shadow won the Beat the Clock Challenge, Riju, Sidon, Onox, Donny B. Kool, Thunderbird and Ghirahim still won their matches, and are therefore entered into the annual Treasure Island tradition, the Eventide Challenge! But learning from last year, HPW will take no chances with the island and the weather, so it will once again be a Ladder Match! Whoever can climb above the others will be the NEW #1 contender to the Undisputed HPW Triforce World Championship, that title match set at Clash of Fates in October. Gerudo, Zora, Draconic, Geru, Rito, or… Uh, ghoul? Who will be headed for Hyrule Coliseum?

It’ll be all or nothing for the Desert Colossus!

As she and Shabonne discussed during Termina Velocity, Tali gets one more shot at Ladrona and the HPW Goddess Championship. If Tali loses, she can’t challenge for the title again until Ladrona loses it to someone else. Will Tali be able to take this title from The Thief Girl? Or will Ladrona tough it out to keep this treasure just out of Tali’s reach?

The MagicaLadies defend their gold!

Midna, Cia & Lana won the HPW World Trios Championships during ThunderStruck’s Blood & Thunder, and they’ve been showing off the side plates ever since. However, titles must be defended, and the Faces of Evil want their belts back! Will the titles go right back to where they were? Or can the Twilight Princess, Dark Sorceress & Blue Haired Goddess dispel the Dark Forces?

Osphala claims controversy!?

The Gleaming Yellow Light lost his gold when he fought Igos du Ikana for the HPW Termina Championship. But reviewing the match, he points out the ropebreak violation as a point of contention. Osphala feels Igos won that match under rather disputable circumstances. If the Gravestone hold had been broken when Tiger Sahasrahla told Igos to, the match would be very different. Well, that’s a very coulda/shoulda/woulda argument, but Osphala is standing firm by it. Osphala wants a fair rematch! In fact, Treasure Island is all about titles, he deserves a rematch!

Igos du Ikana responds.

“Osphala… You didn’t like how you lost? Well, aren’t you special? No one likes how they lost, because no one likes losing. You may not like that I was bending the rules, but that’s all I did. I didn’t break the rules by not breaking my hold, or else I would’ve been disqualified immediately. But if you can’t get over it, if you can’t accept it, if you can’t forget it, then I shall offer a compromise. I will put up both my titles, both Termina and Death Mountain, for you to fight for. But it won’t be in any ordinary match. If avenging this apparent injustice means so much to you, then you will be willing to face… IKANA DEATH!”

A quick highlight reel of the most brutal moments in TCW history goes by, then the screen goes black. Then, with an echo going on, Igos adds, “Dead men tell no tales. But legends never die.” The Ruler of Ruin has raised the stakes, will Osphala call? Or will he fold?

Everyone wants the Undisputed Triforce World Championship!

Well, controversy seems to be common these days! Ganon won his shot at HPW’s top title with help from Zant, but then Zant lost to Kage in a minute and change! With that, the Hero’s Shadow won this year’s Beat the Clock Challenge. And while HPW Management was hoping he’d choose the Death Mountain title, the Termina title, or maybe even the Million Rupee Championship, he stubbornly demanded a shot at THE Undisputed Triforce World Championship. Nicholas Foolyere tried to talk him into one of the other titles, Kage shoved him, so Zelda came to her father’s aid.

Kage is still owed a title match for winning the Beat the Clock Challenge, which was meant to make up for Ganon’s deception. Nicholas Foolyere didn’t want to after how Kage treated him, but between Humpback Hook Halibut and Starfish McMaguro agreeing in the meeting, and even Zelda wanting after Kage, the decision has been made. Treasure Island will now see a TRIPLE THREAT for the Undisputed Triforce World Championship! Zelda VS Ganon VS Kage, first fall to a finish! Will the Hero’s Shadow continue to copy his brother and take this title back? Will the Princess of Hyrule win this gamble? Or will the Gerudo Ace be highest of all?

Bandwagon Nerds Mario

For the past 4 years, Rey Cash has been anxiously waiting and predicting the arrival of a very iconic Marvel villain. This past week, as Ironheart concluded its limited six-episode run, Rey’s prediction finally came true. Mephisto finally arrived in the MCU. The guys break down this long-overdue arrival and what they thought of the Ironheart series in general. The trailer park brings us the latest looks at upcoming projects such as The Eyes of Wakanda, The Running Man reboot, and the newest from Ryan Gosling in Project Hail Mary. Meanwhile, we got some less-than-encouraging news about the future of  The Last of Us, some confusing news about the future of South Park, and how props from the misguided attempt to reboot Blade ended up on the set of Sinners. Additionally, the guys pay their respects to Michael Madsen, Kenneth Colley, and Julian McMahon. All that plus Dave gives his thoughts on Jurassic Park: Rebirth.
