The Decoder, the historic THREE-TIME Pure Champion, and the Death Riders may be dealing with Hangman Page on Dynamite, but Yuta looks to handle his own business here in ROH. Will he build a streak worthy of going back for that Pure Championship? Or will The Sauce be too hot to handle?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and then Zayne blocks Yuta’s kick! Zayne spins Yuta, waistlocks, but Yuta switches. Yuta CLUBS Zayne down, then mockingly applauds. Yuta waistlocks and SLAMS Zayne, but the fans chant, “Yuta Sucks!” Yuta rolls Zayne to a bridging cover, ONE! Yuta holds on and drags Zayne up. Yuta spins Zayne to a cravat but Zayne endures. Yuta wrenches, Zayne rolls and trips Yuta, but Yuta BOOTS him away. Zayne runs up, Yuta dodges and drops down, but Zayne IMPLODER KNEE DROPS! Then STANDING MARIPOSA! The fans fire up and Zayne grins as he stalks Yuta.

Zayne wrenches Yuta, whips him to ropes, but Yuta reverses. Zayne wheelbarrows and arm-drags! Yuta tumbles out, Zayne takes aim, and he goes up, only for Yuta to trip him up! The fans boo but Yuta takes his time going up the corner. Yuta aims and FLYING FOREARMS! Yuta kips up, the fans boo, but Yuta storms up on Zayne. Zayne CHOPS, but Yuta BITES Zayne on the forehead! Yuta CLUBS away on Zayne in the corner, the ref counts, but Yuta stops to say, “I have ’til five!” Yuta cheers himself on while the fans boo. Yuta drags Zayne up, snap suplexes, but the fans again chant “Yuta Sucks!”

Yuta goes up the ropes, takes aim, DIVING ELBOW! Cover, TWO! Zayne stays in this and Yuta mockingly applauds him. Yuta drags Zayne into a chinlock but he also smothers Zayne! The ref counts, Yuta stops, and “I have ’til five!” Yuta rains down HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! The fans boo but Yuta grins, only for Zayne to snatch him into a victory roll! TWO, and Zayne ROCKS Yuta! And ROCKS him again! Zayne spins Yuta to LARIAT! The fans fire up and Zayne rises again. Zayne waits on Yuta, fires off boxing elbows, then kicks low. Zayne runs to SOMERSAULT AX KICK! Cover, TWO! Yuta survives and Zayne grows frustrated.

Zayne hauls Yuta up, back suplexes, but Yuta lands out! Yuta wrenches Zayne, but Zayne arm-drags free of the slam! Yuta runs up, Zayne scoops him, but Yuta fishhooks Zayne! Then he wrenches, RIGHT ANGLE SLAM! Cover, TWO! But into the chicken wings, and CATTLE MUTILATION!! Zayne endures, fights around, but Yuta thrashes the arms! The fans rally, Zayne manages to turn over, but Yuta just rains down HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Then the CATTLE MUTILATION- NO, Zayne pops free to ghost pin! TWO!! Yuta escapes in time, and he ELBOWS Zayne away! Yuta goes up the corner, drags Zayne up to join him, and has the DOUBLE WRISTLOCK!

The ref reprimands, but then Yuta BITES Zayne’s forehead! Zayne drops back, but then he GAMANGIRIS! Yuta wobbles, Zayne runs corner to corner, DRAGON RANA! The fans fire up and Zayne scoops, BAJA BLAST!! Cover, TWO!! Yuta survives and Zayne is beside himself! Zayne hurries to put Yuta in the drop zone, then he goes up the corner! The fans fire up but Yuta grabs at the ref. The ref reprimands but Yuta shoves him at the corner! Zayne leaps over, runs back in, BUSAIKU KNEE!! Cover, Yuta wins!

The Decoder had an answer to just about everything Zayne had! The thing is, he was copying Bryan Danielson’s playbook! Will Yuta continue to copy the American Dragon until he’s a champion?

ROH hears from Athena and Thunder Rosa.

The brightest star ROH has ever seen.” But La Mera Mera says Athena has something she wants in the ROH Women’s World Championship. “And in Texas, at Supercard of Honor, I get to beat your ass!” Athena says deep in the heart of Texas, her home state, the lone star IS Athena! But will the Minion Overlord, the American Joshi, and the ROH Gatekeeper still be our Forever Champion?

The Infantry speaks.

Carlie Bravo says, “Yo, it’s them!” Shawn Dean says, “America’s favorite team!” Trish Adora says, “We are. We are the Infantry, and we wanna wish you a Happy Fourth of July.” That’s right! The big red, white ‘n’ blue! These colors don’t run! Happy Independence Day! Happy Will Smith Day! He saved the planet, bro. America, F Yeah. Run Or Hide, America’s outside. The patriotism is strong, but will The Infantry win their shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championships? Or will it be Top Flight with the fireworks tonight?

The Frat House parties it up!

Preston Vance, Griff Garrison, Cole Karter, Jacked Jameson, and even some Pledges, are at Seattle’s LariatMania bar. The Frat is putting these Pledges to the test to see if they can join. But these nerds suck at beer pong, and then the Frat House cheats anyway. They do an open challenge on beer pong to anyone in the bar! Even the next people to walk in through the front door! But then it’s The Dark Order! They’re game for some beer pong. Jameson says no, this is a private party! Well, Frat House wasn’t coming to them, so Dark Order is coming to Frat House! Jameson says they were not sent an official invitation!

Alex Reynolds says they figured that before beating them in the ring, Dark Order would beat the Frat House at their game. Okay, then what’re you bringing? What you putting on the line? John Silver says flip cups! That is to say, a relay race where you drink, flip the cups so they land perfectly upside-down, and then tag your teammate.  Jameson calls a team meeting, and they accept! Uno points out, his mask doesn’t have a mouth… Jameson says that if the Frat House wins, then the Dark Order picks up everybody’s tab! Uno says then it is only fair that if Dark Order wins, the Frat House pays! Challenge accepted!

Uno and Griff step up to start. They drink what’s in the cups, then do their best to flip them. The cups aren’t cooperating, but Uno gets his first! Silver goes next, he’s pretty quick on his, and then Reynolds finishes it off! A landslide victory for the Dark Order! Jameson says he has to admit, Dark Order cheated! Frat House wins. What? Where did they cheat? But Silver says fine, they won’t argue the decision, drinks on Dark Order. Jameson says these dorks can’t get girls, they’re losers. The manager asks who is paying the bill, and Reynolds says put it under Griff Garrison. Okay. But who the F is Griff Garrison?

Uno says great night, everybody! Have a good time! The Dark Order heads out, and while they’re still making the Frat House pay the tab, will they make The Frat House pay in the ring?

Pure Rules Match: Serena Deeb VS B3CCA!

With the ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament still starting with Supercard of Honor (just months later than originally planned), the Professor of Professional Wrestling needs to prepare. Will Deeb be ready for the test? Or will she not be ready for The Powerbomb Princess?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and the fans rally up as the two circle. The two tie up, Deeb waistlocks, but Becca headlocks. Deeb powers out to a waistlock then full nelson, but Becca pries that open to hammerlock. Deeb reaches back to snapmare, then she chinlocks. Becca fights around, fights up, and she wrenches to a hammerlock then headlock. The fans applaud this opening exchange, but then Deeb powers out the back while bringing Becca to her knees. Deeb pushes on the hammerlock, Becca fights up, and she has the ROPEBREAK! Deeb lets go but Becca realizes she used her first of three!

Deeb grins as we’re only a minute in. The two reset, go again, and Deeb headlocks. Deeb spins to headlock, hammerlock, then headlock again. Deeb goes through another cycle, Becca powers up and out, but Deeb RUNS her over! The fans are torn but Deeb speeds things up. Becca hip tosses but Deeb makes it an arm-drag! Deeb then has the legs, turns Becca over, and has the SEATED SURFBOARD! Becca endures as Deeb rocks the boat! Deeb lets go, floats up, and has the arms! CAMEL CLUTCH! Becca endures as Deeb pulls her way back! Deeb then shifts, GEDO CLUTCH! TWO, but Deeb has the SLEEPER!

Becca endures, reaches out, but Deeb shifts around to ARMBAR! Becca fights around, reaches out again, ROPEBREAK! Deeb lets go, because that is Becca’s second, and we’re only at 2:30! Becca is mad, she kicks low and she ROCKS Deeb with a forearm! Becca fires shots in the corner, then whips Deeb corner to corner. Becca runs up to ELBOW! And she runs again to ELBOW! Becca THROWS Deeb, goes up, and MISSILE DROPKICKS! Cover, ONE?! Deeb is up in the corner and Becca snarls. The fans fire up as she takes a deep breath, and she runs in. But she has to block boots first! Deeb reels Becca in and KICKS her away!

Deeb goes to the apron, Becca runs up, but Deeb catches the shoulder thrust to turn her! HOTSHOT NECKBREAKER! Deeb steps in, eggs Becca on, and catches her haymaker to a wrench, hammerlock, and PEPSI TWIST! Cover, TWO! Becca survives and we pass four minutes, but Deeb is right on Becca. Deeb reels her in, tucks the arms, and hits the DEEB TOX! But that’s not enough! Deeb SMASHES the knee again and again and again! Then HALF CRAB! Becca endures, TAPS, Deeb wins!

Becca had a ropebreak to spare but nowhere to go with Deeb on her that deep. It only took 4:38 to get it done, will Deeb do the same to every woman in her way?

ROH World Tag Team Championships #1 Contenders’ Match: The Infantry w/ Shane Taylor Promotions VS Top Flight w/ Leila Grey!

Both teams are hungry and highly motivated to finally have gold around their waists. However, Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo have yet to beat Darius & Dante Martin in 2v2 competition, perhaps due to Top Flight’s air supremacy. But can The Captain and #BadNewsAndTattoos ground Darius & Dante? Or are the Martin Brothers about to go supersonic in Seattle?

The teams sort out, “Air Wolf” Darius starts against Captain Dean, and they keep the Code of Honor. The bell rings, the two circle, and the fans rally behind Top Flight. Bravo can’t even, but Dean and Darius tie up. Darius waistlocks but Dean wrenches to a wristlock. Darius rolls, kips up, and slips around to waistlock and SLAM! Darius traps an arm, turns Dean over to cover, TWO! Darius runs up, jukes Dean with a spin, then hits a headlock takeover! The fans cheer but Bravo is annoyed on Dean’s behalf. Dean headscissors, Darius kips free, and the two stare down. They reset, Dean has Bravo check, and Bravo says he aight.

Dean and Darius tie up again, Dean gets an arm but Darius waistlocks. Dean switches, Darius spins to facelock, Dean powers his way forward, but Dante is there to tag in. Dean gets loose of Darius, then dodges Darius, only for Dante to send him into an UPPERCUT! Dante feeds Dean to Darius’ BOOT, and Dean scrambles away! Dante dares Bravo to tag in so Bravo tags in. Bravo runs up, but into an arm-drag! Dante holds onto the armlock, Bravo fights up and he pulls hair! The ref reprimands as Bravo puts Dante on ropes, and Bravo lets go, just to kick low! Bravo says Dante is stupid, then he whips. Dante reverses to wrench and kick back!

Dante says Bravo’s stupid, then whips him to the Top Flight corner. Dante runs in, A-LIST LARIAT, then Darius tags in. Darius brings Bravo out to snap suplex! Darius kips up, Dante slingshots to SENTON onto Bravo! Dean runs in, Dante clinches him for a KNEE while Darius LARIATS Bravo out! Dante sends Dean to Darius, Darius TOSSES Dean to the apron. Darius sets up, POETRY IN FLIGHT! Dean falls on Bravo and the fans fire up as the Martin Brothers secret handshake! The fans fire up and Darius builds speed, only for Shane Taylor to be in the way. The ref reprimands, and Darius goes out the other side.

Darius chases Bravo around the corner, but Dean is there to CLOBBER Darius! The fans boo but Bravo puts Darius back in. Bravo RAMS Darius into the corner, tags Dean, and the Infantry mugs Darius! The ref counts, Bravo tells him to shut up, and Dean steps in. Infantry hits a DOUBLE BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Darius stays in this and the fans rally up. Bravo says that won’t work, and Dean dares Darius to reach for Dante. Dean then ROCKS Darius with a right! Darius fires body shots, then JAWBREAKERS! Darius ELBOWS Bravo, swings on Dean but Dean kidney punches! Dean puts Darius in the Tree of Woe!

Tag to Bravo and the Infantry stomp mudholes into Darius! The ref counts, Infantry stops, then they DOUBLE DROPKICK! Darius falls out of the Tree, Bravo covers, TWO! The fans rally more but Bravo facelocks to keep Darius down. Darius fights up as Dante and Leila coach him. Bravo TOSSES Darius to the apron, Darius ROCKS Bravo and ELBOWS Dean! Bravo ROLLING ELBOWS Darius! The Infantry coordinates, they have Darius on the ropes and Dean tags in. The Infantry LARIAT Darius against the ropes again and again! Then they DOUBLE LARIAT Darius back inside! The fans boo but Infantry soaks up that heat.

Darius crawls, Leila coaches him, but Dean pushes Darius down to a cover. TWO, and the fans rally up for Top Flight. Dean drags Darius back, tags Bravo, and Bravo slingshot ELBOW DROPS! Bravo drags Darius up, puts him in the corner, and then he sends Dean in. But Darius BOOTS Dean! Bravo talks trash to Dante and misses that! Darius reels Dean in, then TORNADO to catch Bravo, DOUBLE DDT COMBO! Darius crawls, the fans fire up, and Darius hot tags Dante! The fans fire up as Angel Dorada fires off forearms on Dean! Dean swings, misses, and Dante JUMP KNEES! Bravo is in but Dante JUMP KNEES him, too!

Dante runs up, Dean dodges, but Dante goes out, up, around, and GAMANGIRIS! Evasive maneuvers leads to the springboard DOUBLE CANNONBALL! Direct hit on The Infantry and they bail out! Dante DIVES onto Bravo! Then he DIVES onto Dean! Then he DIVES onto Bravo again! Then he DIVES onto Dean again! The fans are fired up and Dante puts Dean back in. Dante springboards for a CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Dean survives the aerial assault but Dante stays cool. Dante full nelsons, but Dean switches! Dean shoves Dante, but Dante hesitates as Adora is on the apron. Adora grins but Dean rolls Dante up! TWO!!

Dante escapes, mule kicks, and Leila argues with Adora about that. Dante ROCKS Dean, whips, but Dean reverses. Bravo runs in and CARLIE CROSSOVERS! Then a whip, but Dante reverses, so Dean’s FLYING LARIAT hits Bravo! The fans fire up and Dean is stunned! Dante then SUPERKICKS Dean! Dean wobbles, Dante tags Darius, and Darius steps in for the FLYING FLATLINER! Cover, TWO! Dean survives, STP is relieved, but then Adora distracts on the apron again! Leila storms over that way and YANKS Adora down! The fans fire up as the ladies brawl! They go up the ramp, then to the stage! Bravo YANKS Dante off the apron!

Bravo DECKS Dante, Darius LARIATS Dean! Darius then hauls Dean up, suplexes, but Dean slips free! Dean waistlocks, Darius switches, but Dean goes to ropes! Darius hits the O’Conner Roll, TWO! BELT SHOT from Lee!! The fans boo as the ref misses #TAIGASTYLE with the assist! Dean covers, Infantry wins!

Winners: The Infantry, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contenders to the ROH World Tag Team Championships)

Naturally The Infantry wins because they had reinforcements ringside! But will Adora, Shane & Lee be able to help Dean & Bravo take those titles off Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara? Or will stars at night be big and bright when they shine over the Sons of Texas?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH at just 42 minutes, but the main event was really the only development towards anything. SAP of course won their match, Deeb of course won hers, and while Zayne is great, I figured Yuta would win his since he’s the AEW/ROH guy. Fun stuff with Frat House and Dark Order on location in that bar, and of course we going to get a Six Man Tag from them eventually, I’m just not sure if it’s for a Supercard of Honor preshow or what. And it’s preshow material at most, even with Dark Order still fairly popular with fans. Again I ask, what’s going on with the Von Erichs and the ROH World Six Man titles? Get those off them and Dustin during this year’s Texas stint, please.

But speaking of Dustin, Dustin & Sammy VS Infantry will be great stuff. This feels like a long time coming, though mostly because TK doesn’t know how to pace ROH out. Great main event from Top Flight VS Infantry, and I like that we got Leila and Adora brawling. The Pure Women’s Championship tournament doesn’t even have a full bracket yet, but Adora really should be in it. She also teased some of it with putting Deeb on notice from the stage, so they’ll surely announce the final entrants very soon.
