WWE mourns the loss of Hulk Hogan.
All the superstars and legends are on stage as Triple H says, “Ladies and gentlemen, yesterday, we lost one of the biggest and most globally recognized icons in the world. A man I grew up watching, was fortunate enough to share the ring with, and like so many of us, were honored to call a friend. The truth is, he captivated millions of people and inspired them around the globe.” The fans cheer that, and HHH continues with, “We would not be standing here right now, all of us together, if it was not for him.” The fans cheer that, too, and HHH says, “So please, help us honor him now as we give a ten bell salute to Terry Bolea, the one and the only, the immortal Hulk Hogan.”
The fans applaud, and then fall silent for the ten bells. Then a video tribute plays. Hogan said, “I just love the business. There’s nothing else likeness. It’s just magic, it’s the most exhilarating experience you’ll ever have.” Highlights of Hogan’s legendary career play as HHH narrates that Hogan defined Sports Entertainment, and was Sports Entertainment. The bronze physique, the 24 inch pythons, the bandana, the power, personality, persona, a box office attraction and a global icon. But before all that, he was just Terry Gene Bolea, born in Augusta, Georgia. He loved sports, and could play the bass guitar.
Hogan wanted to be a rockstar, but then decided to be the best pro-wrestler the world had ever seen. His original character was “The Super Destroyer,” a masked wrestler, and he made his debut in 1977. Hogan made his WWF debut in 1979. The allure grew and grew, and got to go Hollywood with his part in Rocky 3. Then Madison Square Garden, January 23rd, 1984 was the day Hulkamania was born. Hogan’s first world title, and from there, Hogan was woven into pop culture and became a slice of Americana. Rock ‘n’ Wrestling, Grammys, Saturday Night Live, and of course, WrestleMania.
Then in 1987, WrestleMania 3, the slam heard ’round the world. His rivalries became stuff of legend, with those who would themselves become legends. TV, movies, and shockingly, leaving WWE for WCW. From there, the New World Order was born, and they turned the business upside-down. When you’re NWO, you’re too sweet 4 life. Hogan would come home to the WWE in 2002, and only one man could match his stardom. Hulk Hogan VS The Rock was truly one of the must-see Mania moments, and three years later, Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. And in the years that followed, Hogan never left the spotlight.
Over decades, with so many changes to the business, even Hogan could never have dreamed of such a life. Hogan’s steps may have slowed, but his work ethic never did. Hogan loved his fans, young and old, even to the end. July 24th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends, Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bolea passed at just 71 years old. But Hulkamania will live forever. “When you develop a love for this business, it’s something that’s in your spirit. It’s something that you can never lose. It’s something that will be with you ’til the day you die, as it will with me.” RIP Hogan, and thank you.
Logan Paul heads to the ring!
It doesn’t matter that The Maverick is from Cleveland, the fans boo him as hard as ever. Logan is never affected, though, he just sips his Prime and grabs a mic as he has his ImPAULsive posters already up in the ring. The fans boo more but Logan says it’s good to be home. What’s up with the switch-up? Weren’t they chanting “Thank You, Logan” earlier? The fans boo, that was for Hogan, not this idiot. But Logan says you’re welcome. Yes, this city raised him. But this city did not make Logan Paul. In fact, Logan Paul made Cleveland, and you all know it. And he knows they’re all thinking how Logan’s from Cleveland, he’s just like them.
FALSE. He and the rest of Cleveland have nothing in common. No, seriously. He made it out, and they didn’t! The fans boo Logan more but he says tonight isn’t about him. Tonight is about the community. He’s giving back tonight. Because tonight, he is giving Cleveland a once in a lifetime opportunity> This is a live edition of ImPAULsive TV! Yes, he’s bringing out “the human donut hole” who made a mockery of “our” business on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He’ll show that Kentucky Fried Convict what a real inspiration to their hometown looks like! Because Jelly Roll- makes his way out to a song by the late, great Toby Keith!
Jelly Roll waves while the fans cheer, but Logan has the music stop. Jelly says you don’t need to play a song to know who Logan’s daddy is. And did Logan say something about being an inspiration? The only thing Logan’s ever inspired is little a-hole kids filming themselves being a-holes! Logan tells Jelly to shut up but Jelly says he’s sick of Logan talking like people from Cleveland like Logan !Jelly’s more Cleveland than Logan! Logan says Jelly clearly can’t read, it is ImPAULsive TV, this is LOGAN’s show. Show some respect! And Logan will make this clear: He brought Jelly out here to let him know he is getting in the ring with two of WWE’s finest!
Jelly is going to be in the ring with Logan Paul, the moment maker, and Drew McIntyre, the Scottish giant that Logan gets to tag in! Randy Orton gets to tag in JELLY ROLL? Jelly, Jelly, Jelly, other than those cheap shots, he’s got nothing. Who the hell does Jelly think he is? Who does Jelly think he is? He’s the guy fixing to put Logan in a body bag and ship him back to West Lake! The fans cheer that! Jelly storms into the ring and says what really pisses Jelly off is that Logan’s never had to struggle in his life. He’s been a silver spooner his whole life! Jelly isn’t getting int he ring just for himself. He’s in the ring to represent ever poor kid with a dream that got picked on by jocks like Logan!
And just so we’re clear, Logan is in the ring to bring light. The only thing Logan’s ever brought is a ring light. Jelly is here because he has been a WWE fan his entire life! The WWE represented Jelly Roll! It represented every single one of the fans! Logan makes fun of Jelly’s story, but Jelly’s story has inspired millions and MILLIONS of- Logan interrupts with “Rednecks around the world?” Jelly can’t believe Logan has the audacity to talk to Jelly crazy when we know in his heart and soul, Logan’s about as hard as Charmin toilet paper! And we know for sure Logan ain’t nothing but a Prime pedaling punk ass b*tch!!
The fans fire up for that, but here comes Drew! The Scottish Terminator rips his shirt away, but the fans cheer for “RANDY! RANDY!” Jelly says Logan’s made a big mistake thinking Jelly’s here alone. Jelly sings Voices, the fans sing along, and then the music plays! Logan gets worried but Jelly’s got a smile ear to ear. Because yes, Randy Orton is here! The Viper storms to the ring, he fist bumps Jelly, and then he DECKS Drew! Jelly fires off on Logan, but Drew CLAWS Orton’s eyes! Drew CLUBS Jelly, the shoves him down! Drew gets ready to ground ‘n’ pound, but then decides to “tag” Logan in! Logan rains down fists on Jelly!
The fans boo and Drew laughs as Logan bullies Jelly. But then Orton DRAGS Drew outta the ring! And THROWS him into barriers! Logan gets worried again as Orton stomps Drew! And Jelly is up to JAB! JAB! JAB! Then a whip and ELBOW! Jelly CLOBBERS Logan again! Jelly fires up, the fans are with him, and Logan stands up, but he LOW BLOWS Jelly! The fans boo but Logan clears out the posters. Logan winds up that One Lucky Right, but Logan dodges it! And hits the BLACKHOLE SLAM! The spirit of the Big Bossman lives in Jelly! Orton is just as fired up, but will #RKRoll be ready to rock Logan & Drew in Jersey?

El Idolo says, “I know very well who Rey Fenix is. El Animal.” And the Firebird says, “I know who Andrade is. La Sombra.” They have defended their culture La Raza, lucha libre, and they are money at it! In the Tag Team Division, every move is intentional. They are on a different level. “It’s only a matter of time until that gold is around our waists.” They are the standard, and they are money. Then will they hit the jackpot here tonight as they go right for the tag titles? Or will the Wyatts stay golden this close to SummerSlam?

Speaking of SummerSlam and tag titles, the alliance of convenience is primed to challenge Judgment Day for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. And while Alexa & Charlotte worked together to get one over on Big Mami Cool, can they do the same to The Prodigy? Or will this be where Roxie & Raquel get some revenge?
SmackDown returns as Roxie makes her entrance, Raquel by her side and a remix of her theme playing. The bell rings and Roxie shoves Alexa. Alexa swings, Roxie slips around but Alexa switches to roll Roxie up. ONE, but Alexa dodges to roll up again, ONE! Roxie kicks but Alexa blocks to spin and roll up! ONE, and Roxie THROWS Alexa down by her hair! The ref reprimands but Roxie drags Alexa up to whip. Alexa dodges to roll up again! TWO, but Roxie SLAPS Alexa! The fans boo and Alexa frowns. Alexa clamps onto Roxie for an STO! The fans rally, Alexa runs up, but Roxie puts up her guard. Alexa stops short, BODY BLOWS, then she SLAPS Roxie down!
Alexa smiles while Roxie bails out. Alexa goes to the apron while Roxie regroups with Raquel, and then Alexa CANNONBALLS! Charlotte steps over Roxie to get in Raquel’s face, and the fans “WOO~!” Raquel dares Charlotte to do something while SmackDown goes picture in picture.
The ref reprimands everyone, Charlotte stands down, and Alexa brings Roxie up. Alexa pushes Roxie into the ring, stalks her then steps on her. Alexa hits INSULT2- NO, Raquel swipes at her! Roxie CLOBBERS Alexa in the distraction! Roxie HAMMERS away on Alexa, then brings her up. Roxie whips Alexa to a corner, runs in, and UPPERCUTS! Roxie wrenches Alexa, clinches, RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Cover, TWO! Roxie is upset but Charlotte rallies the fans for Alexa. Roxie drags Alexa up to THROW her by her hair again! The ref reprimands, Alexa swipes at Roxie, but Roxie CLUBS away on Alexa!
Roxie puts Alexa on the ropes, CHOKES her, but stops as the ref counts 4. Raquel mocks Alexa, but Alexa takes a swipe! Roxie CHOKES Alexa again! The ref counts, Roxie steps off, but she pushes Alexa down for a cover, TWO! Roxie clamps onto Alexa with a chinlock and grinds her down. Alexa fights up, and JAWBREAKERS free! Roxie comes back to LARIAT Alexa down! Cover, TWO! Charlotte cheers Alexa on but Roxie wraps her up in a STRAITJACKET STRETCH! Alexa endures, Charlotte keeps the fans going, and Alexa fights up. But Roxie SLAMS her down! Roxie grins, stalks Alexa to ropes, then steps on her.
Roxie gives Alexa those skateboard stomps, a la Alexa! Roxie even mocks Alexa’s old taunt before pushing her down again. Roxie steps on Alexa again, but Alexa powers up! SmackDown returns to single picture as Alexa has a leg, and DRAGON SCREWS! Roxie clutches the leg but stands up. Roxie runs up but Alexa ELBOWS her away! Alexa goes to a corner, Roxie runs in again, btu into a BOOT! Alexa runs up and RUNS Roxie over! And RUNS her over again! Roxie SLAPs, ROCKS, and KNEES Roxie, to then SHOTGUN her down! Alexa steps on Roxie to show her how those stomps are done! The fans fire up as Alexa snapmares Roxie, runs, and BLOCKBUSTERS!
The fans fire up and Alexa stalks Roxie. Alexa clinches, but Roxie CLAWS Alexa’s eyes! Alexa goes to ropes, Roxie argues with the ref, but Raquel HOTSHOTS Alexa! Roxie goes up, LIONSAULTS, and covers, TWO! But Charlotte TOSSES Raquel over barriers! The fans fire up but Roxie is furious! Charlotte blows a kiss, and Alexa ROCKS Roxie! DDT! Alexa climbs, but Raquel’s back to BOOT Charlotte! Alexa sees that and has to choose, Roxie or Raquel? Raquel reels Charlotte in, but Alexa chooses Raquel! SUPER CROSSBODY! Down goes Raquel and the fans fire up! Alexa hurries back into the ring, tells Raquel that’s what she gets, but Roxie rolls her! And holds ropes! ROXIE WINS!

Alexa helped her “not friend” with fighting the enemy, and it cost her tonight. But will Alexa & Charlotte still use teamwork to make the dream work when the titles are on the line? Or will Judgment Day be just fine?
Backstage interview with Jade Cargill.
Cathy Kelley is with The Storm and notes she is a week out from her title match with Tiffany Stratton. How is Jade feeling? Jade says she’s fought through things that were supposed to take her out, and here she is as Queen of the Ring! Next week at SummerSlam, she shows everyone why she is a natural born champion. Jade heads out, Cathy says Jade is radiating confidence, but Chelsea Green & The Secret Her-vice step in. The Hot Mess is sure Cathy wasn’t talking about Jade radiating confidence. Chelsea has her team get her coffee while she deals with this. Alba & Piper leave, and Chelsea says she was screwed out of the Queen of the Ring!
Wait, is that Solo Sikoa & MFT in the background? Anyway, Chelsea says she should be the one facing Tiffany at SummerSlam for the WWE Women’s Championship, not that crown stealing Jade Cargill! She’s just so… stupid! Slow! Useless! There’s a cuter word for it. Oh wait, she’s right behind Chelsea, isn’t she? Yes, and Jade ROCKS Chelsea! Chelsea runs away but Jade says she forgot her hat! Jade keeps after Chelsea, SMACKS her off the mirror by gorilla, and now they’re going out to to the stage! Well, Chelsea was dressed to compete, will she have no choice but to put her money where her mouth is? Jade TOSSES her down the ramp, chases her to the ring,

Jade dodges Chelsea to BOOT her down! Chelsea tumbles out of the ring, Jade tells her to get up, but the Secret Her-vice hurry to Chelsea’s side. They have Jade stay back while they help the Hot Mess to her feet, and SmackDown goes to break.
SmackDown returns and Chelsea salutes, but Jade gets up again. Jade ELBOWS Chelsea down, then CLOBBERS her again! Chelsea jumps up but Jade catches her! FALL AWAY SLAM! Jade kips up, the fans fire up, and Jade runs in for an ELBOW! Jade keeps going, runs again, and another ELBOW! Then a choke grip and SLAM DUNK CHOKE SLAM! Chelsea sputters, but Alba gets on the apron! Jade runs Alba off, but Chelsea hits a ZIGZAG! Cover, TWO! Chelsea hurries to chicken wing and she turns Jade, but Jade uses that to shove Chelsea for her own chicken wings! JADED!! Cover, Jade wins!

But here comes Alba! SUPERKICK! Then Piper HEADBUTTS Jade! They mug The Storm, but here comes Tiffany?! The champ rushes in, she won’t let them bully her challenger! She TACKLDES Alba, Piper is after her, but Tiff ROCKS Piper! Jade ROCKS Piper! The champ and challenger look to each other, and they DROPKICK SUPERKICK COMBO! Piper tumbles out, and Jade picks up the belt. Jade likes how it looks on her arm, but she gives it back to Tiff. But she does smile as she pats the belt before truly letting it go. Will Jade be unstoppable when she comes after that belt next week? Or will #TiffyTime weather The Storm?

Not only did Alexa lose, she got quite the bloody nose for her efforts. Charlotte sits with Alexa, apologizes about the nose, but says this cannot happen at SummerSlam. Alexa tahnks her for being cool about it. Well, why wouldn’t she be? They’re… partners, aren’t they? She was about to say friends, huh? No! Partners. But after they become champions at SummerSlam, maybe Charlotte will think about it. The Queen heads out, but will she and Alexa be ready to reign in New Jersey?
Cody Rhodes heads to the ring!
Cleveland fires up for the American Nightmare, and they sing along with Kingdom, “WHOA~ OH~!” Cody gets the pyro, and he shakes hands as he goes down the ramp. Cody signs autographs, even gives a hug or two, then gets the second “WHOA~ OH~!” and pyro. Cody has the mic and he fires the fans up more before he says, “Yesterday, WWE and pro-wrestling lost one of its giants in Hulk Hogan. And I know emotions and feelings regarding it are complicated. But what is not complicated are his accomplishments and his contributions to WWE, to sports entertainment, to pro-wrestling, to entertainment as a whole. They are staggering, and there are undisputable.”
The fans cheer that, and Cody says as someone who stands here as a WWE superstar, Hogan was the original, so he wants to take this moment to say, “Thank You, Hulk Hogan.” Now, Cleveland, there are Street Fights, and then there is what will happen at SummerSlam. We’re not talking about virtue, about victory, we’re talking about violence! Because that is what virtue demands. Sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t look like the right thing. Last week, John Cena saw that, he’ll get plenty more at MetLife Stadium. But here’s the tricky thing. I don’t want to wrestle this John Cena. I don’t wanna fight the guy who didn’t even want this match in the first place.
“I don’t wanna fight the guy who’s counting the days until he’s out the door. No! At SummerSlam, I want to fight THE REAL John Cena!” The fans cheer that! Cody says if he’s gonna stand here and own it, he needs to know he can go through the very best. The title Cena has is the biggest title in the game, it means Cena is the very best. This isn’t about nostalgia, or about headlines, or about a once in a generation superstar who redefined what it is to be a pro-wrestler. John Cena, if this is your last SummerSlam, come like it is your first! Cody wants Cena up there, talking to Stu the cameraman, wearing the title the right way, and running into the ring!
Cody wants all the Hustle, the Loyalty, and the Respect so that they can beat it out of each other! The fans cheer that, then they sing for “Cody! Cody Rhooodes~!” Cody gets on the corner to feel that, then he says the reason he wants that fight against The Real John Cena is because Cody needs to know. Cody needs to know that the story we’ve all been part of is not just fantasy, is not just legacy, but that it meant something, that it was real. The only person who has the answer to that question is John Cena. See you next week. Cody drops the mic but the fans fire up! Will the Last Real Champion give us the REAL Cena we all want?
Jacob Fatu speaks.
The Samoan Werewolf calls out Solo, “Let’s get right to the point. I loved you, but YOU made it like this! You tried to get me framed! You tried to send me to jail, when I told my family, you and everybody else that I ain’t ever going back! Last week, Adam Pearce told me he was gonna lock you down in a cage at SummerSlam. YOU! See, I don’t mind being locked down in that cage 1-on-1 for the US title with you. Because at the end of the day, I’ma dog walk yo’ ass, YADADA MEAN!?” Btu then The Miz walks in? And he says they have unfinished business! A few weeks ago, Fatu took Miz out, put him on the shelf!
But Miz had enough time to figure out who he is. He’s a man who went toe-to-toe with legends, who outlasted monsters, and beaten icons. Solo reminded him that there’s a bigger game to play, and Fatu is just a pawn. Miz is not a victim, a target, but the main character! Miz went to Nick Aldis to get Fatu a match tonight! Fatu got the wrong guy on the wrong day, because Cleveland is MIZ’S hometown! Because he’s The Miz and he’s… BACK! Fatu snarls, but Miz SLAPS him! Fatu laughs that off, and says okay, then. A match right now? Then come on with it! Miz hurries to gorilla, but will he wish he’d taken the time to cool off?
WWE hears from Aleister Black and Damian Priest.
The Dark Father says, “You know what’s funny, Damian? You felt that it was necessary to stick your nose in my business. And a debt that I wanted to collect is now inherited by you.” But Damian replies, “So Aleister, you think I owe you a debt? You remind me of this collector I used to know back on the street. You know the type: He would collect what was owed, then take a little extra for himself. I stepped in for one of my boys, like I did with Truth, and he didn’t like that too much. And when I gave him my best shot, he never collected from anybody ever again.”
Aleister says many think he and Damian are cut from the same cloth. The truth is, Damian fights to prove who he is, while Aleister fights to reveal who everyone else is. Priest says he’s nothing like Aleister. Aleister sees everything he wants to be in Priest. Aleister vows to “unmake” Priest, tear down the walls he has built, and when there is nothing left, Priest will truly see himself for the first time, and he won’t like it. Priest says he ain’t hiding who he is. He’s The Bad Guy! And when he shows up in his backyard, he ain’t coming to play peacemaker. He’s bringing these hands, and he’ll punish Aleister. Who will stand tall when SmackDown lands in Newark?

SmackDown returns and Miz waits in the ring as the Samoan Werewolf makes his entrance. The bell rings and the two tie up. Fatu powers Miz back but Miz turns things around to put Fatu in the corner. Fatu runs up, Miz slips around to waistlock, but Miz ducks an elbow to fire haymakers! But Fatu TOSSES Miz to a corner! Miz BOOTS back, runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but the BODY CHECK hits! The fans fire up, Fatu SPLASHES Miz in the corner, and sits him down! “YADADA MEAN!?” The fans fire up and Fatu stomps Miz. Fatu then goes corner to corner and back again, HIP- NO, Miz dodges the hip attack!
Fatu staggers, Miz hurries up, but Fatu LARIATS Miz down! The fans fire up again and Fatu has Miz back in a corner. Fatu rains down fists, and shouts he all gas, no brakes with it! BUT WAIT! Here comes MFT! Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, Tonga Loa & Talla Tonga all make their way to the ring. But Miz CHOP BLOCKS Fatu in the distraction! And POSTS him! Fatu flops to the floor, Solo laughs at him, and SmackDown goes to break.
SmackDown returns while both men are down, but the fans rally up for Fatu. Fatu goes to rpoes, Miz slowly rises at center. Fatu heads for Miz, counters a punch with a punch, and repeat! Fatu backs Miz down with haymakers, then whips. Miz KICKS Fatu, but Fatu just fires up! Fatu LARIATS Miz down, then SENTONS! Miz goes to a corner, Fatu SPLASHES, then Fatu goes up! Fatu rains down headbutts and the fans count! Fatu goes to nine, then winds up for TEN! Miz sits back down, JC talks trash, but Fatu builds speed to HIP ATTACK! MFT drags Miz to safety?! Fatu just builds speed to DIVE! Down goes Miz AND MFT!
The fans cheer, Fatu drags Miz into the ring, but here comes Talla Tonga! Fatu POSTS him, then SUPERKICKS Solo! Fatu hurries into the ring, he pops Miz up, SAMOAN DROP! Cover, Fatu wins!

But now MFT attacks! Solo, JC, Loa & Talla all stomp and punch away, then they shove him into a corner! But wait! JIMMY USO is here! The fans fire up as #BigJim has a chair! He dodges Loa, CHUCKS the chair at JC, then SUPERKICKS Loa! Jimmy goes to the apron, Talla is on him, but Jimmy GAMANGIRIS! Then he DUMPS Solo out, and he uses the chair to JAM Talla up! And SMACK him on the back! Talla stays up!? Jimmy is a bit stunned, but he swings again! Talla BOOTS Jimmy first! Solo returns, along with JC & Loa. They all beat up on Jimmy, then Talla stands Fatu up. Solo talks trash, but Fatu BOOTS him!
Fatu RAMS Talla into a corner, fires elbows, and SUPERKICKS JC! Then he sends Loa into Talla! SUPERKICK after SUPERKICK! HIP ATTACK for Solo!! The fans are fired up as Jacob geeks out, and Jacob sees the chair! Fatu grabs the chair, and he storms over to Solo. Fatu puts the chair right on Solo’s head and he says he tried to warn them! Fatu gonna do this! Fatu runs, but Talla LARIATS Fatu down! The fans boo but Talla gets the chair off Solo’s head. Solo tells to get Fatu’s “big ass” up! Talla YANKS Fatu right up, for the GIANT CHOKE SLAM! The fans boo as MFT stands over Fatu, but Solo isn’t done! Solo sits Fatu up, “All gas, no BRAINS!” SAMOAN SPIKE!!
Solo holds up the US Championship and says this is his! Fatu is never getting it back! The fans boo more but MFT stands tall. Will no one stop Solo’s reign of terror?

Cathy Kelley is with Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins & B-Fab, and she brings up the tag titles being on the line in the main event tonight. She was hoping to get their perspective on what Andrade & Fenix need to do to win against the Wyatts. B-Fab says the Wyatts are a different kind of enemy, so they must be dealt with in a different kind of way. Montez says that’s true. The Wyatts have their own kind of rules. But you know what rules they don’t understand? The fact that the Profits weren’t even in the contenders match last week. Dawkins says that’s alright. They don’t give a damn who wins, they got next.
But then DIY steps in. Johnny Gargano says no, hold on, wait a minute. First, take off that Cleveland Guardians jersey, HE is the Cleveland guy! Second, Profits had the titles, lost ’em, they blew it, it’s over for them. Tommaso Ciampa says step aside to let the Best Tag Team in the World fix this mess. The Profits laugh, and says DIY are both funny and funny looking! Dawkins brings up Gargano hitting Ciampa in the face last time. Ciampa says that’s none of your damn business! That is family business! Candice LeRae calms DIY down and says that is none of the Profits’ business. Their business is simple: STAY OUTTA THE WAY!
DIY storms off, but the Profits are definitely not staying out of the way. But who will get their way as the chase for the WWE Tag Team Championships continues on?
Zelina Vega finds Giulia backstage.
La Muneca confronts the Beautiful Madness, but then in steps Kiana James. Kiana is Giulia’s “official representation,” so if you want to talk to her, you have to go through the proper channels. AKA Kiana. Out of the way, “Clipboard Karen!” Zelina knows Giulia thinks she has no competition just because no one’s had the balls to step to her since winning the Women’s US title, but no. Zelina wants her rematch. Well, Kiana is one step ahead of everyone on that. She talked with Aldis, and Zelina gets her rematch next week. And when Giulia beats Zelina again, Zelina will just be a footnote in Giulia’s portfolio.
Zelina wants Giulia to look at her when she’s talking to her, and Giulia says she likes the fire. Zelina says Giulia shouldn’t get too comfortable. Tragedy lures with fortune first. See you next week. Giulia scoffs at that, then leaves with Kiana in tow. Will Zelina once again reign? Or will she once again succumb to the Beautiful Madness?
WWE Tag Team Championships: Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis w/ The Wyatt Sick6 VS Andrade & Rey Fenix!
The Wyatt Sick6 were united by the feeling of being forgotten and the desire for connection, and with it came the tag titles. El Idolo y Immortal Firebird were united by their culture and the desire for glory. Bonds will be tested, but which one will be strengthened by gold? We find out, after the break.
SmackDown returns and the Wyatts make their entrance. The lights go down but the fireflies come out as the piano plays. The Wyatts emerge from the mist, and Uncle Howdy sits in the rocking chair. Gacy & Lumis go to the ring and the fans cheer. The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who stands atop the division!
The teams sort out and Fenix starts against Gacy. Gacy rushes up, Fenix dodges to mule kick, and they fire hands. Fenix puts Gacy in the corner, tags Andrade, they double whip Gacy to SOBAT! KICK! BLINDSIDE FOREARM! Gacy is on the ropes, Lumis runs up, but he gets the SOBAT and KICK! Lumis still runs up but Andrade drop toeholds him onto ropes to join Gacy! Fenix then slides out, Andrade runs, GAMANGIRI DROPKICK COMBO! The fans fire up and Andrade snap suplexes! That’s Uno Amigo! Then Dos Amigos! Then THREE AMIGOS! The fans fire up, Andrade tags Fenix, and Fenix goes up!
Fenix gives some Lation Heat, but Lumis SHOVES him down! Andrade runs Lumis off, but Gacy runs up! Andrade dodge but Gacy handsprings into the UPSIDE-DOWN! Lumis DIVES onto Fenix! The fans are torn but the Wyatts are in control while SmackDown goes picture in picture.
Lumis drags Fenix up, puts him in, and Gacy stands Fenix up to DECK him! Gacy CHOKES Fenix, sits him up, then tags Lumis. The Wyatts mug Fenix, then Lumis CLUBS Fenix on the back. Fenix drops to his knees, but Lumis eggs him on. Fenix CHOPS, but Lumis UPPERCUTS! Lumis then rains down fists on Fenix! Howdy enjoys what he sees as Lumis drags Fenix up and tags Gacy. The mugging continues, then Gacy DECKS Fenix! Gacy suplexes Fenix high and hard, then drops an ELBOW! Cover, TWO! Fenix toughs it out but Gacy brings him around to bump off buckles. Tag to Lumis and the mugging continues.
Lumis UPPERCUTS Fenix, then scoops him for a SLAM! Lumis runs to drop an AX HANDLE! Lumis clamps onto Fenix, pushes on the neck wrench, but Fenix endures. Fenix KICKS from below, fights free, and then CHOPS! Lumis kicks low, reels Fenix in, and lifts Fenix up, only for Fenix to fire hands! Fenix is free again but Lumis reels him back in! Lumis lifts for a BIG back suplex, but Fenix lands out! Fenix somersaults, SmackDown returns to single picture, but Lumis DECKS Fenix first! Fenix kips right up to SUPERKICK! The fans fire up while both men are down! Fenix and Lumis crawl, push past each other, hot tags to Gacy and Andrade!
El Idolo rallies, DRAGON SCREWS Gacy, then dodges Lumis to FLYING FOREARM! Andrade kips up and the fans fire up! Andrade sees targets in the corner, and he builds speed for CIEN SHADOWS on Gacy! Andrade pushes Gacy to a cover, TWO! Gacy stays in this but Andrade stays focused. The fans rally behind Andrade as he brings Gacy up, but Gacy wrenches out, and HEADBUTT! Tag to Lumis, feed to the atomic drop! Gacy LARIATS Andrade for the Hart Attack! Then whip and SENTON! Cover, Fenix SUPERKICKS it apart! But then Gacy whips Fenix! Fenix goes Spider-Man, but Gacy SHOTGUNS him down!
Gacy tags in, Lumis brings Andrade up, scoop SLAM! Then Gacy whips Lumis for the POP-UP BOMB SENTON onto knees! Andrade saves himself, then rolls Gacy to a cradle, TWO!! Gacy is up, but the SHADOW ELBOW hits! Fenix runs in, he FLIES out onto Lumis! Andrade hits THE MESSAGE! Cover, NIKKI CROSS DRAGS THE REF OUT! The fans boo but that disqualifies the match!!
Winners: Andrade & Rey Fenix, by disqualification (The Wyatts retain the titles)
Champion’s Advantage saves the Wyatts, but now there’s no one to save Andrade y Fenix! Erick Rowan CLOBBERS Andrade! And he LEG LARIATS Fenix! “Yeah yeah yeah yeah!” Rowan stomps away on Andrade, but FRAXIOM is here! Axiom leaps in, but Rowan catches him to THROW him onto Frazer! Motor City Machine Guns rush out, they dodge Rowan, but he comes back to DOUBLE CROSSBODY! The fans fire up as Rowan then clamps onto MCMG, but Andrade & Fenix SUPERKICK! The MCMG, Andrade & Fenix brawl with Rowan, but Gacy gets in! Howdy drags Fenix out, Rowan still holds his own, but Gacy & Lumis drag people away!
But wait, THE PROFITS rush in! They wear those Guardians jerseys as they fight as the guardians of this division! Rowan blocks one kick but the ENZIGIRI hits! Then Dawkins POUNCES Big Red outta the ring! The fans fire up, DIY brings Aldis out here like the tattletales they are, but Fraxiom DIVES onto them! Dawkins FLIES out onto the Wyatts!! Ford is not to be outdone, he goes OVER THE CORNER to take out everyone else!! Security, referees and producers rush out here and Aldis storms into the ring! “I have had enough of this! It’s obvious to me and everybody watching that you lot are hellbent on destroying each other over those tag team titles.
“And since you didn’t get it out of your systems the first time around, here’s what’s gonna happen! At SummerSlam, those tag team titles go high above the ring! And it will be TABLES, LADDERS & CHAIRS for the WWE Tag Team Championships!” Cleveland loves that, and so do the teams of SmackDown! And then the brawl starts again! “This is Awesome!” It is chaos in The Land, but who will bring the gold home in the end?
My Thoughts:
A great SmackDown tonight, even with the sobering news of Hogan’s passing. Now obviously, nobody’s perfect, and Hulk Hogan/Terry Bolea was perhaps even farther from that than most. It’s a shame he died from a heart attack after all his other health issues, it is a shame never really apologized for the things he did, but may that be a lesson to us all. And as HHH said to start the night, WWE wouldn’t be what it is today without him. RIP Hulkamania.
Perhaps some things were changed for tonight, but it is hard to say when they didn’t really advertise that much for this show. And even then, pro-wrestling always leaves itself open to “impromptu” matches. Jade VS Chelsea was like the perfect example and the perfect execution of that. Chelsea had a good promo running her mouth, Jade got right after her, and Jade got a good win to prepare for the title match. Tiff helping Jade against The Secret Her-vice was a bit surprising, but Tiff is still a Face and she wants Jade at her best for their match. I almost thought this could’ve been a tag match, but maybe they leave that for the go-home next week.
Fatu had a great promo to call out Solo, and it was a good detail for Solo to motivate Miz into confronting Fatu. That match was definitely just bait for the trap, and even with Jimmy helping, MFT stands tall. If this were the go-home, then I’d say Fatu is winning the cage match, but we’ve still got next week. Plus, cage matches don’t really stop interference, so MFT could still show up and mess things up for Fatu. But I feel like Fatu should still win out if this is to continue at all. Though that depends on the WWE Draft… Good promo from Zelina, Giulia and Kiana, but I sadly don’t see Zelina winning the title.
Great stuff from Alexa VS Roxie, especially with Charlotte and Raquel having their part on the outside. But with last week being Charlotte winning thanks to the outside distractions, it was fitting that Alexa losses for it. That makes the math equal right now, so the tag title match could probably go either way. As with Evolution, it probably depends on what they’re going to do with the Judgment Day story, if the dysfunction is going to increase or decrease while we wait on Liv Morgan’s return. But at the same time, for this Alexa & Charlotte relationship to keep going, they might need the tag titles to keep them together.
Good promo from Aleister and Damian to hype up their match next week, and I’m leaning towards Aleister winning so that he can head for the US title. Very good promo from Cody Rhodes to call out Cena and hype up their Street Fight. I do appreciate Cody wanting the Cena of like the Ruthless Aggression Era, the one that got bloodied with JBL in their I Quit match among other highlights. Now, physically, can’t be sure Cena can do that again, but if he can at least bring the same fire of that character, we’re going to get an awesome match for SummerSlam.
Good promo from The Profits and DIY, and a good promo from Andrade & Fenix. We finally get something of Andrade and Fenix being a team, and I’m pretty sure they’ll call themselves “The Standard” or “El Estandar.” Great main event for the tag titles, but I should’ve figured the Wyatts would use Champion’s Advantage like that. But then we got an awesome brawl and awesome news that we’re getting a FIVE TEAM TLC for the titles at SummerSlam! That is going to be a show stealer for sure, and with it being five teams and TLC, it is anyone’s game.

But of course, the House has to attack from behind! The fans boo as Ren CLUBS Oleg and Dick Togo uses the SPOILER CHOKER! But then Oleg BOOTS Ren away, hauls Dick up, but Ren kicks low! Ren CLAWS Oleg’s eyes, whips, but Oleg reverses to send Ren hard into to the railing! The fans cheer as Oleg puts Ren in the ring, and the ref rings the bell! This is on record now as Oleg RUNS Ren over! Oleg whips Ren to ropes, Ren reverses, but Oleg CLOBBERS Ren! The fans cheer as Ren tumbles out! Dick checks on Ren, as does the ref. Oleg storms out the side, then storms over, but Dick attacks again! Oleg isn’t even bothered!
Dick cowers and calls for the ref. The ref reprimands Dick for even getting close to Oleg. But this distraction lets Ren JAM Oleg with a chair! And SMACK him down! The fans boo more while Oleg writhes, but Ren stalks him around the way. Ren stands Oleg up, then whips Oleg hard into railing! Oleg writhes again, clutching his arm, but Ren stands him up to wrench and wristlock. Ren then brings Oleg out into the crowd, CLUBS away on the arm, then lines up a shot. Ren whips and BOWLS Oleg into chairs! STRIKE! The fans rally for Oleg while he’s down on the floor, but Ren leaves him behind to roll into the ring.
The ring count climbs while Ren catches his breath. Oleg rises at 6 of 20, hobbles his way over, and rolls in at 12. Ren is right on Oleg with a whip and NECKBREAKER DROP! Cover, TWO! Oleg survives but Ren drags him back up. Ren wrenches the arm and bends the fingers before hitting an ELBOW BREAKER! Ren wrenches for another ELBOW BREAKER! Oleg drops to his knees but Ren wrenches the arm again. Ren hammerlocks the arm and RAMS it into bare buckles! Dick helped pull off the House Special! Ren drags Oleg up, clamps onto the arm, but Oleg stays up. Ren puts Oleg in a corner but the ref counts. Ren lets go at 4, but snapmares Oleg into the corner.
Ren goes outside, he CLAWS Oleg’s face, then bends the bad arm against the crossbar! The fans boo and the ref counts, but Ren lets go at 4. Oleg clutches his elbow while Ren grins an evil grin. Ren stalks Oleg, stomps him around, then eggs him on. Oleg rises up but Ren kicks him. Oleg ROCKS Ren with the good arm! And ROCKS him again, and again, and again! Ren wrenches the bad arm to another ELBOW BREAKER! Ren wraps the bad arm around ropes, stops as the ref counts, but Dick HOTSHOTS the arm in the distraction! Ren hits as FLYING ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! The fans rally for Oleg as he fights around.
Oleg high stacks Ren, then deadlifts for a POWERBOMB! The fans cheer while both men are down! Oleg rises first and the fans rally behind him. Oleg drags Ren up, but Ren fights the gut wrench to have the bad arm! ELBOW BREAKER! Ren RAMS shoulders with Oleg, RAMS again, then whips, but Oleg reverses to BELLY2BELLY! The fans fire up as Oleg rises again! Oleg drags Ren up with the gut wrench, for the Shake, Shake, Shake, and THROW! Oleg kips up, the fans fire up, and Oleg shakes out the bad arm. Oleg runs corner to corner but Ren dodges! Ren runs up, but Oleg scoops! And he THROWS Ren again!
Oleg runs, runs, and BOLTIN PRESS! Cover, TWO! Ren survives but the fans rally behind Oleg again. Oleg storms over to Ren, drags him up, and reels him in, only for Ren to fight the lift. Oleg CLUBS Ren, but Ren CHOKES Oleg! Oleg breaks free to CHOP Ren! Oleg winds up, but Ren uses the ref as a shield! Oleg stops short, helps Marty Asami duck, and then he CHOPS Ren after all! Ren complains to the ref, but blocks a kick! Ren hands it to the ref so he can hit an ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! The fans rally for Oleg as he powers right out! Both men rise up, and Oleg runs at Ren, only for Ren to DUMP him out!
Ren kicks Oleg, grabs a chair, and he puts the chair around the arm! Dick distracts the ref while Ren- NO, Oleg blocks the Pillmanizing! Oleg ROCKS Ren, then CHAIR LARIATS! The fans fire up as the “Chairiat” takes Ren down! Oleg kicks the chair away, then drags Ren up. The fans cheer as Oleg puts Ren in the ring, then storms over to him. Oleg drags Ren up, gut wrenches again, for more Shake, Shake, Shake, and the DOCTOR- NO! Ren fights the bomb! Ren is free but he flounders to a corner. Oleg runs up to SPLASH! Then Oleg torture racks, but Ren CLAWS Oleg’s eyes! Ren whips Oleg into the ref!
Ren CLAWS Oleg’s face, then Yoshinobu Kanemaru appears! The fans boo as the Heel Master kicks Oleg down! Kanemaru uncorks his whiskey bottle to take a big swig! Kanemaru aims, but Oleg smothers the mist! Oleg fireman’s carries Kanemaru, but Dick runs in! Dick kicks Oleg but he doesn’t budge! Oleg then squeezes Kanemaru and the WHISKEY MIST hits Dick!! But Ren is up, only for Oleg to THROW Kanemaru onto him! The fans fire up for Oleg, and he calls to the ref before grabbing Ren’s legs. Oleg YANKS Ren right up, into the POWERBOMB!! High stack, TWO!! Ren survives the #BoltinBomb but the fans rally for Oleg!
Oleg grits his teeth, shakes out his bad arm, then torture racks Ren! Ren flails as Oleg bends him back! But now SHO is here! Sho distracts right as Ren TAPS! Oleg would’ve won! Oleg sees Sho, runs him off, but Sho eggs Oleg on. But then WOLF is here! The fans cheer as Aaron Wolf kicks Sho, then hauls him away! But then Ren kicks Oleg’s legs out, and has him in the GUILLOTINE! But Oleg powers up, powers out, and suplexes Ren! Ren slips free, kicks low and DOUBLE CROSSER! Cover, TWO!! Oleg survives and Ren is beside himself! The fans cheer Oleg on as he and Ren stir. Ren crawls to ropes, drags himself up, and vows to end this!
Ren climbs the corner, takes aim from up high, for HELL’S- NO, Oleg catches Ren for a SNAP KAMIKAZE!! But the bad arm holds him back! Oleg can’t make the cover as he clutches the shoulder in pain! The fans rally even harder as Oleg rises again. Oleg roars, drags Ren up, and fireman’s carries! VERDICT!! Ren flounders but Oleg makes the cover this time, ROPEBREAK!! Ren survives by fingertips, and Oleg is frustrated with his miscalculation. Oleg roars again, he brings Ren back up, and the fans cheer the fireman’s carry. But Ren grabs ropes! Oleg can’t pry Ren free, so he just goes up! But Ren CLAWS Oleg’s eyes!
The ref reprimands but Ren goes up, up, and SUPER ARMBAR TAKEDOWN!! Oleg flails, reaches out, but Ren pulls on the bad arm! The fans cheer as hard as they can for Oleg as he fights around! Oleg reaches out, but he’s still so far away! Oleg kicks, kicks, kicks, and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer as Oleg survives by a literal foot! Ren drags Oleg up, brings him to the corner, and climbs up. Ren vows to end it now! DOWN TO DIE on the arm! DISARMER!! Oleg endures the mounted armbar, but then powers through, only to end up in an ARMBAR!! Ren puts on the pressure, but Oleg again powers up! Deadlift, but Kanemaru distracts the ref!!
DICK LOW BLOWS OLEG!! The ref misses all that, and Ren drags Oleg back down!! Oleg TAPS, Ren wins!!
Winner: Ren Narita, by submission (still NEVER Openweight Champion)
Another day, another way for Ren to cheat and steal this title away! Then the House stomps away on Oleg! Wolf returns to run them off, but he was not enough to even the odds during the match. Wolf grabs a mic to tell Ren, “What do you think you’re playing at? See if you can step on me one more time! Put that belt on the line and fight me! I promise to take back that title!” The Wolf has eyes on his prey, but will he huff ‘n’ puff and blow the House of Torture down? Or will they stack the deck too high for anyone to overcome?
IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: Yota Tsuji VS Andrade El Idolo!
What was meant to be former friends settling a grudge is now a second chance for a “Real Latino Man.” Gabe Kidd is hurt, so Andrade is back again, but will he redeem himself from the New Beginning in USA? Or will Gene Blast still be golden?
President Hiroshi Tanahashi is here to give the formal introductions and raise the belt as we see if history repeats itself!
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two stare down. The fans cheer on “YO~TA! YO~TA!” but Andrade ignores that as the two circle. They tie up, are in a deadlock, but Yota’s height becomes his leverage. Yota puts Andrade on the ropes, but lets off cleanly. The fans applaud and Andrade shakes it off. The two reset and circle again. They tie up, are in another deadlock, but Andrade pushes Yota to the ropes. Andrade lets off, but CHOPS! Yota CHOPS, but Andrade headlocks. Yota endures the grind, but Andrade hits a takeover. Yota headscissors, Andrade kips free, but Yota hits the takeover, only for Andrade to handspring through!
Andrade returns to RANA, but Yota handsprings through! The fans cheer as the two stare down again. They circle, feel things out, and tie up with knuckle locks. They go shoulder to shoulder but Andrade wrenches to headlock. Yota powers up but can’t power out as Andrade pulls hair! Yota powers up and out this time, but Andrade RUNS him over! The fans cheer, and Andrade runs, only for Yota to hurdle over. Andrade leaps over, Yota sidesteps, but Andrade springboards to CROSSBODY! Andrade then LARIATS Yota up and out! The fans fire up, and Andrade builds speed! But Yota slips in, dodges Andrade, and slips around to arm-drag!
Andrade bails out and now Yota builds speed! The fans cheer, but Andrade is back! Yota blocks the boot, but Andrade whips, only for Yota to reverse. Andrade goes tranquilo in the ropes! The fans cheer, but Yota nods and raises his own LIJ fist. Yota then BOOTS Andrade to the floor! Yota goes out after Andrade, puts him in the ring, and the fans rally again. Yota drags Andrade up, KNEES him low, then KNEES him again. Andrade fires elbows, swings, but into a half nelson! GUT BUSTER! The fans cheer while Andrade goes to a corner. Yota runs in for a STINGER SPLASH! Yota then climbs up, and the fans cheer as he rains down elbows!
Yota goes to nine, winds up, but Andrade YANKS Yota down before ten! Andrade then stomps away on Yota, drags him up, and scoops to SLAM! The fans cheer again while Andrade snarls. Andrade storms back over to Yota, drags him up, and snapmares. Andrade runs to basement DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Andrade clamps onto Yota with a headlock and grinds him down. The fans cheer as Andrade lets go, but Yota coughs and sputters as he catches his breath. Andrade grabs legs, and he stomps Yota in the stomach! Andrade looms over Yota, drags him back up, and puts him in the corner to CHOP! Yota is stinging, but also grinning! Yota eggs Andrade on, so the gloves literally come off! Andrade CHOPS Yota! The fans cheer and Yota keeps smiling! Andrade says uno mas, or perhaps moikai, and he kicks instead! Andrade wags his finger, then ROCKS Yota! Andrade whips corner to corner, then runs up, but Yota puts him on the apron! But Andrade blocks the enzigiri to put Yota in the Tree of Woe!
Andrade goes up, WOE STOMPS! Cover, TWO!! Yota survives but Andrade says it was that close. Andrade then drags Yota up in the corner, ROCKS him with forearm after forearm, but Red Shoes reprimands. Andrade backs off, but he rallies the fans as he goes corner to corner and back again, CIEN- NO, Yota ducks the knees to sunset flip! TWO, and Andrade ROCKS Yota! Yota ROCKS Andrade! They go forearm for forearm, then Andrade CHOPS! And CHOPS! Andrade runs, but Yota scoops to BACKBREAKER! The fans cheer while both men are down! The fans rally again, and Yota rises first. Yota is grinning again, he’s enjoying this.
Yota stands Andrade up to CHOP! Andrade wobbles, then drops to a knee, but Yota stands him up again. Yota CHOPS again, then brings Andrade around. Yota winds up, but Andrade blocks and CHOPS! And CHOPS! Andrade runs, but Yota ELBOWS him! And CHOPS! Yota roars, runs, but Andrade catches him on the second rope for the INVERTED SPANISH FLY! Both men are down and the fans fire up again! The fans rally as both men stir, and Andrade stands first. Andrade brings Yota up, and snap suplexes! But that’s just Uno Amigo! Andrade suplexes again, but Yota slips out! Yota waistlocks but Andrade ELBOWS free!
Andrade runs up but into a BOOT! Andrade comes back, but into another BOOT! Yota goes up, up, and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! Yota keeps going, tilt-o-whirls and arm-drags again! Andrade tumbles out of the ring but the fans rally behind Yota as he builds speed! And this time, Yota DIVES! Direct hit at the ramp! The fans cheer as Yota stands tall going up the ramp. Yota goes back for Andrade, brings him back to the ring, and the fans applaud. Yota aims as Andrade rises, and he runs corner to corner for the GENE TRIGGER! Yota hauls Andrade up top, then climbs up to join him! The fans rally as Yota sets up for the SUPER STEINER! Cover, TWO!
Andrade survives but Yota just keeps on him! Yota has the legs but Andrade resists the turnover. Andrade BOOTS Yota away, but Yota storms back up. Yota reels Andrade in, but Andrade hits a snap suplex! Then another, that’s Dos Amigos! Yota fights the third, but Andrade dodges the lariat to then FLYING FOREARM! Both men are down again and the fans rally back up! Yota crawls to a corner, but Andrade pounds the mat. The fans clap along, “SI! SI! SI!” Andrade runs corner to corner and back again, CIEN KNEES! Cover, TWO!! Yota survives and the fans fire up again! Andrade drags Yota to a drop zone, then goes up the corner!
The fans rally as Andrade DROPDOWN MOONSAULTS, into BOOTS! Yota then has Andrade in the ropes for a KICK! Yota goes from the corner, but Andrade manages a SNAP POWERSLAM! The fans are stunned as Yota hits apron then the floor! Daiki Nagai fans Yota off, but Andrade TRIANGLE JUMP TORNILLOS! Down goes Yota and the fans fire up again! Andrade snarls, then brings Yota up and into the ring. Andrade climbs up, up, and MOONSAULT DOUBLES! Cover, TWO! Andrade is surprised, but he can’t help but smile. The fans rally more and more as Andrade brings Yota up, and underhooks!
Yota fights The Message, RAMS Andrade into a corner, but then Andrade hoists Yota up top! Andrade CHOPS again, then climbs up after Yota. Andrade brings Yota up, up, and SUPER DUPER PLEXES!! And then he just rolls through! That’s just Uno Amigo! Then a snap suplex for Dos Amigos! And then- ORANGE CRUSH from Yota!! Cover, TWO!! Still no third amigo but both men are down again! The fans rally even harder as Yota drags himself to the ropes. Yota nods, and even manages a smile. He uses this energy to rise again! Yota brings Andrade up, then goes up the corner! MARLOWE- NO, Andrade is after him again!
Yota fights the Spanish Fly, Andrade fires body shots of his own, but Yota kicks the legs out! Andrade dangles, Yota adjusts, DRAPING MARLOWE CRUSH! Cover, TWO!! Andrade survives and the fans fire up again! Andrade goes to the apron but Yota follows him outside. Yota stands Andrade up, but Andrade fires an elbow! Yota fires a forearm, Andrade fires back, and the two brawl on the edge. Yota laughs, then GENE TRIGGER! And then RANA to the floor!! The fans are thunderous for that wild gamble of an attack! Yota roars as he rises and the fans are with him! Yota drags Andrade up, brings him around, and POSTS him!
Yota pushes Andrade to the apron, then steps back inside. Yota climbs the corner, brings Andrade up to join him, but Andrade fires hands. Yota CLUBS away on Andrade, but Andrade fights the clinch! Andrade looks to the outside?! Yota fights the suplex to go to the very top! And he brings Andrade up, SUPER SPANISH FLY!! Cover, TWO!! Andrade survives and the fans cheer, but Yota isn’t done with him! Yota stands Andrade up, pump handles, but Andrade fights with elbows! Yota ROCKS Andrade in the back! Yota back suplexes, but Andrade lands out! Yota mule kicks, runs, and LARIATS! Andrade stays standing!?
Andrade SHOVES Yota, eggs him on, so Yota runs, and he avoids the Shadow Elbow! GENE TRIGGER! Then the pump handle, the lift, and the SILVER LINING SLAM!! Cover, TWO!! Andrade survives again but Yota powers up! The fans cheer as Yota hits his three point stance and waits on Andrade. Andrade rises, Yota runs in, GENE- SHADOW ELBOW!!! Both men are down and the fans fire back up! Red Shoes checks both men, they’re both still in this, so a standing count begins! Both men are still down at 5 of 10 while the fans rally harder and harder. They’re still down at 7! At 8! Both men sit up at 9! But then they flop back over!
Red Shoes lets the match continue from here, as we’re already 25 minutes deep. Andrade and Yota sit up again, and they stare down as they rise up. Andrade eggs Yota on, so Yota winds up to CHOP! Andrade wobbles, but he walks that one off. The fans rally as Andrade winds up to CHOP! The sweat is seen flying off Yota, then he drops to his knees! And yet, Yota grins again! Yota stands back up, winds up, and CHOPS! The favor has been returned as Andrade is now stinging. Andrade stands back up, and he nods before he CHOPS! Yota drops to his knees, then falls back! But he gets up quickly enough as the fans rally again.
Yota storms up, winds up, and CHOPS! Andrade’s chest is getting red, as is Yota’s, but Andrade- YOTA HEADBUTTS! Yota changes things on Andrade, then reels him in! POWER- SUNSET BOMB!! Cover, TWO and Yota has it! TWO and Andrade has it! TWO, Yota has it again, TWO! Andrade dodges, springboards, into a GENE BLASTER!!! Cover, TWO?!? Andrade survives the anti-air attack but Yota crawls his way to the corner. Yota loads up but he demands Andrade stand again! Andrade rises, Yota runs in, GENE- NO, Andrade hurdles over! Then he rolls Yota up, and deadlifts for a POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO!!
Andrade drags Yota up, underhooks, but Yota defies the Message! So Andrade hammerlocks, LA SOMBRA DDT!! Cover, TWO?!? Yota survives and Andrade is beside himself, but the fans are thunderous! Andrade rises, he vows to end this, and he underhooks Yota. Yota fights The Message, but Andrade powers up! Andrade shifts, for a TIGER DESTROYER!! Then Andrade hauls Yota up to the corner, still underhooking the arms! But Yota NORTHERN LIGHTS! Double cover, TWO!! Yota clinches, BACKBREAKER! FLATLINER! STOMP!! The Gene Combination hits as we hit 30 minutes! Then Yota hits the JUMBO PLEX!!
Yota drags Andrade by the legs, then fires up as he turns Andrade! BOSTON CRAB!! The fans are thunderous as Andrade endures! Andrade reaches out but Yota drags him to center! Yota sits deep on the hold, but Andrade still fights! Andrade scrambles his way to the ROPEBREAK! The fans are thunderous as Yota lets go in frustration. Yota and Andrade sit up, and Yota still smiles. The fans rally behind Yota as he brings Andrade up and places him up top. Yota climbs up behind Andrade, then dragon sleepers! The fans rally as Andrade fires elbows! Andrade turns around, and he has the facelock, DDT on the post?!?
Andrade falls to the floor but that’s the lesser of the damage! He hurries back inside, he hauls Yota back up, for THE MESSAGE!!! Cover, ANDRADE WINS!!!
Winner: Andrade El Idolo, by pinfall (NEW IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion)
An instant classic and an absolute shocker at the same time as Andrade has his revenge! Yota went from two belts to none, what will his journey of redemption look like?
As for Andrade, Tanahashi presents him with the belt, and Andrade holds it high. This is not only a win for the United Empire, but a win for AEW and the Don Callis Family. Andrade grabs a mic to say, “I did it.” The fans applaud, and Andrade continues by saying, “I wanna say thank you. Yota Tsuji is good, he’s an amazing talent, but Andrade El Idolo was better tonight.” The fans applaud again, and Andrade says he knows many know he is an AEW talent, but this title is NJPW’s. So Andrade will now officially be working in both companies, both companies are in his blood. And he wants to thank everyone here in Japan for watching.
Andrade says he now has a question, and it is a simple one: Who wants to challenge him? The fans applaud, and Andrade drops the mic. Andrade holds up the belt again, but wait! Stepping out in a nice suit is Drilla Moloney. But then Shota Umino is also here, still in ring gear. Andrade likes where this is going as the two challengers talk on stage. 44 Caliber and Roughneck both go to the ring, and Andrade asks if they heard what he said. So Drilla wants this title? And Shota wants it, too? Then he has an idea.
If they want this title, HIS title, why not this just be a Triple Threat for the Global Heavyweight Championship? Just say where, when, and what time. Then The RRRREAL~ Latino Man will be there! The fans cheer as Andrade is already raising the bar on this belt! Andrade says just call and he’ll be there. Andrade tells the fans, “Arigato!” The fans cheer, but will Andrade regret stacking the odds for his first defense? When and where will we see this shootout happen?
My Thoughts:
A great start to the Wrestling Dontaku double event, and quite the surprising result for the main event. While House of Torture shenanigans were 1000% expected for Narita VS Oleg, that was still a great match. But at the same time, as great as Oleg is, he was not going to become a TRIPLE champion between the NJPW Strong and both NEVER Openweight titles. Aaron Wolf stepping up to Ren is good stuff, but seriously, can Tanahashi use his authority to put ringside bans up? It’s actually bad kayfabe logic from management to not see that as an option.
But as I was saying, amazing main event, and Yota losing is pretty wild. I suppose even if this was Yota Tsuji VS Gabe Kidd, Gabe winning would’ve worked in story, too, positioning this title as a crossover title between NJPW and AEW. Yota’s story of making a comeback will be an intriguing one. Perhaps he uses the G1 Climax as his road back. As for Andrade being up for the Triple Threat with Shota and Drilla, that’s pretty cool, too. I don’t see Andrade losing his first defense, but a Triple Threat is a classic way to keep all parts strong no matter the result.

The fans are torn but The Dogs soak it all up. The Dogs then double suplex, but Myron lands out! He goes Matrix again to DOUBLE CUTTER! The fans fire up as Myron crawls! Hot tag to Dez! But then Top Flight & Zach DIVE to wipe out the rest! Dez fires off on The Dogs, fires a strike fest and a CUTTER on Finlay! Then he dodges Connors to handspring and PELE! Cover, TWO!! The two go again, circle, and Jack trips Dorada. Jack facelocks, rolls with Dorada, then shifts to a headlock. Dorada powers up but can’t power out as Jack hits a takeover! And again, and again, and again! The fans cheer Skye as she puts Nixi on the apron. Skye drags Nixi out for a DRAPING SWINGING NECKBREAKER to the floor! Nixi writhes but Skye puts her back in the ring. Skye swaggers while the fans cheer, then she climbs up the corner.
Nixi slowly rises so Skye revels in the cheers a little more. Nixi ROCKS Skye, but Skye ROCKS her back! They brawl up top, but Skye slips under to tuck Nixi in! CHEEKY NANDOS! Then Skye gets under Nixi for a RUNNING POWERBOMB! Flip over and KNEE!! Cover, but Skye lets up! The fans re torn, but Skye shouts out Julia Hart with the dragon sleeper! She drops down, DESCENT INTO MADNESS! Nixi TAPS, Skye wins!
Winner: Skye Blue, by submission
Skye shows her arsenal is deepening, just like the darkness in her heart! Will all parts of the Triangle of Madness soon be shining with gold?
AEW TNT Championship: Kevin Knight VS Hook w/ The Opps!
The Jet used MJF’s own tricks against him to keep this title, and now he has his shot at Darby Allin’s AEW World Championship this Wednesday. But will Knight still be bringing this gold with him? Or will the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil finally make himself the Face of TNT?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see whose luggage will be a little heavier as they leave Illinois!
The bell rings and the fans rally up. Knight and Hook circle, tie up, and Hook slips around to waistlock. Hook picks a leg, trips Knight, then eggs him on. The fans boo but Knight brushes it off. Knight asks Shibata if he taught Hook that trick. Shibata ignores Knight, but Knight and Hook tie up again. Hook headlocks, wrenches, then wristlocks. Knight rolls, handsprings, and wrenches to snapmare. Knight drops a KNEE on the arm! Hook scrambles away but Knight calls to Shibata, saying he knows Shibata knows these tricks. Knight does squats like back in the dojo, and the two tie up again. Knight powers Hook back, Hook turns things around, and they go along ropes.
The ref counts as the two keep going around and around, then they return to center. Hook waistlocks, Knight switches, but Hook switches back. Knight wrenches, hammerlocks, and the fans rally. Hook reaches back to hit the SAYANAGI! Hook runs but Knight stays low. Knight hurdles, then HIP TOSSES, but Hook handsprings through! Knight dodges Hook’s lariat, Hook HIP TOSSES, but now Knight handsprings through! The fans cheer while Knight strikes a pose, but Hook runs up! Knight arm-drags Hook, then arm-drags again, but Hook avoids the dropkick! The fans boo as Hook scrambles to the corner.
Knight taunts Hook & Shibata, but Shibata coaches Hook up. Hook kicks low, ROCKS Knight, then fires body shots and backhands in the corner! Knight turns things around to return the body shots and forearms! Knight UPPERCUTS, the fans fire up, but Hook avoids the haymaker! Hook fires more body shots, then a HEADBUTT! Hook wobbles, too, but he still soaks up heat from the fans. Hook stalks Knight to a corner, brings him around to whip, but Knight grabs ropes to stop. Knight DUMPS Hook out, then DROPKICKS him down! Shibata coaches Hook, Knight aims to PLANCHA, but Hook dodges!
Shibata stands in the way, Knight asks what’s up, but Shibata runs up! Knight dodges, goes up the steps, but Hook dodges that! EXPLODER into the fans! The other fans cheer as Knight is down, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Hook soaks up more heat as he swaggers around the way, but the ref checks Knight. Knight rises up but the ref has Hook stay back. That just lets Shibata DUMP Knight to ringside! And even stomp him! Hook argues with the ref as a further distraction so Shibata can stand Knight up. Hook KNEES Knight, then whips him hard into railing! Hook CLUBS Knight, soaks up heat, then goes to the ring. Hook argues with the ref more, but that lets Shibata line up a shot! Shibata BOOTS Knight into the crowd! The fans cheer again, they don’t mind Collision being interactive. Shibata puts Knight in for Hook to cover, TWO!
Hook is frustrated but Shibata coaches him up. Hook drags Shibata up, but Knight fires body shots! Knight ROCKS Hook, shakes out his hand then runs, only for Hook to follow! Hook CLOBBERS Knight, covers, TWO! Shibata argues the count but no, it was fair. Hook clamps onto Knight with a SLEEPER! Knight endures, even as Hook leans on him. Knight fights around, reaches out, then fires body shots! Collision returns to single picture as the fans rally. Knight fires shots, Hook shoves, but Knight returns! STAELLITE- NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Knight survives and Hook is furious!
Hook hauls Knight up, fires body shots, then ROCKS Knight. Hook whips corner to corner, but Knight comes back to LARIAT! The fans fire up as Knight keeps going, SHOULDER TACKLE! Knight whips, Hook reverses, but Knight goes up and over! Knight comes back, LEAPING LARIAT! Hook sputters away but Knight kips up! The fans fire up and Knight runs up to scoop and SLAM! The fans cheer as Knight says “TOO FLY!” UFO SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Hook survives but the fans still rally behind Knight. Shibata coaches Hook and Hook rises up. Knight also stands, and Knight runs up, SATELLITE- NO, Hook powers free!
Hook goes to a corner, Knight runs up and blocks a boot! Knight ROCKS Hook, hoists him up top, but Hook kicks Knight away. Knight returns to the UPPER ROOM! Hook goes tumbling away to the far corner! Shibata is worried but Knight grins. Knight says this is for Shibata-sensei! HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! The fans cheer Knight using Shibata’s signature, and that just pisses Shibata off! Knight puts Hook in the drop zone but Hook grabs at the ref. Knight climbs up, but Shibata shakes the ropes! The fans boo as that trips Knight up! Knight is stuck on his cockpit, but Hook goes up after him! Hook clinches but Knight fires body shots!
Knight SHOVES Hook away, climbs back up, but Hook is right on him for a SUPER DUPER BELLY2BELLY!! Knight flounders, Hook runs up, LARIAT! TAZ PLEX! Cover, TWO!! Knight survives and we hit the ten minute halfway point! Knight PENALTY KICKS, another Shibata signature! Cover, TWO!! Another cover, TWO!! Knight survives and Shibata is frustrated! Shibata tells Hook to end this! Hook snarls, storms around, and he demands Knight rise again! Knight sits up, Hook sneaks up behind him, REDRUM!!! Knight flails, drops, and victory rolls! TWO!! Knight and Hook stand, Knight slips around, O’Conner Roll! TWO, but Knight BLASTS Shibata first!!
The fans cheer, but Hook runs up again! GERMAN SUPLEX, but Knight handsprings through!! Then Knight LARIATS Hook down! Then Knight waits on Hook, for the SATELLITE DDT!! Knight puts Hook in a drop zone, hurries up a corner, and takes aim… MOTHERSHIP SPLASH!! Cover, KNIGHT WINS!
Winner: Kevin Knight, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)
Hook tried to take this title, even had Shibata-sensei there to tip the scales, but it just wasn’t enough to stop The Jet from taking off! But will Knight soon make himself a double champion? Or will Darby Allin’s relentless reign not stop just yet?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision to follow a great Dynamite, but naturally status quo is kept with all these title matches. I liked the Jurassic Express National Tour vignette, and that was an awesome match in Jack VS Dorada. Anna Jay also looked great in her return, but of course Willow wins to keep the TBS title. Good promo from after Dynamite with Kris being rightfully angry with Shida, and good promo from #Shidalander with Harley & Mina. I feel like they can do a two-in-one, where Shidalander falls apart to set up their feud, while also giving Harley & Mina reason to become a team to help bolster the Women’s Tag Division.
Speaking of, very good promo from Divine Dominion to address how they’re dominating the division. There are only so many teams in the tag division so we need an influx of more, maybe have some crossover with Stardom and CMLL real quick, really spice things up as we get closer to Forbidden Door. Skye Blue of course won, and pretty dominantly at that. I can’t tell if Julia Hart is resting from an injury or what but she wasn’t even ringside for Skye, hopefully things are alright. Very fun trios match from Conglomeration VS MXM TV, great win for Conglomeration, but AEW needs to figure out more trios. Putting Ciampa with FTR is still a great team, but they gotta get longer running teams going, like LFI or maybe even Shane Taylor Promotions.
Awesome stuff with that 10 Man Tag, so wild and chaotic in a good way, but I figured Death Riders & Dogs would win. The Dogs need to stay afloat without Gabe Kidd as their anchor, and there’s the whole story with Ospreay that Death Riders need to stay strong for. Great tag match from Yuta & Garcia VS Ace & Juice, too, and great win for Bang Bang Gang. Especially with a return from Austin & Colten Gunn, because now we can get Bang Bang Gang VS Death Riders in an 8 Man Tag, someone going after the Continental Championship for it, who knows what else. For that matter, Bang Bang Gang needs to get back in those tag and trios divisions to at least bolster the ranks.
And great main event with the TNT Championship. Hook looked good for most of this, but the German Suplex was a bit janky. Thankfully, Knight is so tall and athletic that he made himself look even cooler in his escape. Knight of course won, mostly because it is more exciting if he has a chance of becoming Jet Two Belts. He won’t, because Darby and MJF are still building towards their rematch for Double or Nothing, but Knight will look awesome again. If anything, Knight VS Shibata should be the TNT title match for Double or Nothing, that’s a great story of student and teacher they can easily reference in the build.
