Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 8.14.2025

This is the Go Home for Emergence! Let’s be fair, Emergence is just an App Event PLE thing. But there’s a few neat wrinkles. Callihan potentially retiring, Moose getting a shot at Trick, and Knockouts Tags are at least a little interesting because there’s more than two teams. Also let’s not forget that Hardy Boyz vs Rascalz will probably be a damn fun match too.

So a rather B-Level show could have some fun stuff. Even if the build has been suspect to be nice, the card could outkick the coverage easily.

Results:

Show opens with The System in the back checking on Moose who got attacked, Eddie, Dango and Myers march out and tell Santino to make the 6man start now. 

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & Dango) vs Fir$t Cla$$ Trick$

The System attack the Tricks and a mugging into Dango doing an Asai Moonsault wipes out the heels. Eddie officially starts with Trick, Eddie tries to measure him up but Trick catches him with the Leg Lariat and tags in Swann. Eddie reverses the Whip and short charge Lariat, into quick tags, tandem attacks, heavy Hip Attack from Dango, Blue Thunder Bomb from Eddie and Myers drops the Guillotine Leg Drop only a two count. The System is rolling until AJ lowers the middle rope, Dango falls through the ropes and Swann takes advantage, Ground and Pound, tags in AJ and AJ sandwiches Dango in the heel corner and gets a near fall. Dango tries to fight back, eats a corner Splash and then Tennessee Whiskey as Trick tags himself in and Trick Kicks into a near fall. Trick sends AJ into the corner for a Splash and then a Shotgun Dropkick from Trick rocks Dango. Dango tries to jump over AJ but he catches him in a Bear Hug. Dango bites AJ in the face, and uses the momentum of AJ missing a Vader Hammer to lift him for a Backdrop! Dango tags in Myers and he clears house. Bicycle Kick, Implant DDT, Falcon Arrow, but AJ breaks it up. Dango and Eddie take out AJ, Trick attacks Dango and Eddie, Myers gets rid of Trick but Rich Cradles Dango and uses the ropes for the pinfall.

Myla Grace & Harley Hudson vs Dani Luna & Indi Hartwell

Accents everywhere in the ring! Two British Women, Irish and Australian. Early offense is pretty basic, a few Cradles, Jaw Jackers, dodges, and this is just the time for Myla and Harley to get some momentum and show off some chemistry. Dani gets a corner locomotion spot where Myla punctuates it with a Sliding Dropkick, as Harley tags herself in, Booty focus Leg Drop, and a flurry of blows keep Dani isolated. Myla and Harley try a tandem spot but Dani shakes them both off, tags in Indi and she comes in hot. Spinebusters Myla into Harley and quick clears out Harley and hits the Hurts Don’t It on Myla.

This match was serviceable to showcase Myla and Harley a little since they’re still generally new to the audience, and Indi looked amazing since she made quick work of the match once she came in. Nice way to make her look like a great threat to bring the belts back, and when Rosemary ambushes her with the Mist, it’s a decent enough hold over feud to not shove Indi into the main event scene immediately.

Well, while it hasn’t been revolutionary, this has been the best first 30 minutes of an Impact show in about 3 months. So I’ve got to give the show credit where it’s due. 

John Skyler w/Tasha Steelz & Jason Hotch vs Matt Cardona

Skyler tries to charge, eats a Boot, Cardona wants the 10 Count Punches but he gets distracted by Hotch, Skyler sweeps the legs and then knocks Cardona to the outside and Hotch gets in some cheap shots before throwing him back in for Skyler to land a few shots and a Sleeper for the rest and fire spot. Oh look here we go, Skyler telegraphs the Body Drop and eats a Facebuster. Skyler eats Knees trying to run into the corner, eats a Dropkick and then Tasha gets in the way of a Reboot. Cardona levels Hotch, the referee shoos Tasha out and as Skyler tries to take advantage he eats a Radio Silence and Cardona wins.

Hotch attacks after the match, no one makes the save since The System is beat up, Ali walks out with Agent Zero as the Hands hold Cardona like a sacrificial offering. Ground Zero connects and Order 4 pose over Cardona.

The tag team conclave in the middle of the ring, I still think the belts are worthless, but its nice to see more than 2 teams. Lei Ying Lee goes full Iyo Sky and responds to Elegance Brand in Chinese and and Xia acts like she understands. I like that Heather let M talk, she didn’t do poorly, Fallon and Jazmyn were cute but of course IInspiration are the best ones on the mic. Peyton/Cassie also PGs the classic Australian “We’re not here to fuck spiders” . Santino says they can fight for 5 seconds, but it goes longer than that so he calls security. It’s cliche…but this was a little clever. 

Huh, Rosemary gets interviewed by Gia and it seems like she’s embracing the term “Gatekeeper” to be more insidious and less of the insult it’s usually used as in wrestling. 

Eric Young w/Jabronis vs Mike Santana

Eric Young attacks Mike as soon as he gets in the ring, Mike starts throwing hands back, but EY cuts him down with a Hidden Blade style Back Lariat. Santana tries to fight the losers but fails while EY distracts the ref, they throw him back in and a near fall happens. EY with some hard shots in the corner, back to back Rude Awakenings, and a near fall again. EY is just stalking Mike and locks in a Nerve Hold, Mike tries to rally, EY tosses him but Santana hits a Flying Lariat, Kips Up, and starts rolling, Enzuigiri, Superman Punch, Tope con Hilo on the jabronis to stop them from interfering. EY goes for a surprise Discus Lariat, Mike ducks, they go to the corner, Mike holds the corner, EY rolls back and Mike rolls into the Rolling Buck Fifty for 2. They battle on the top buckle, EY gets the best and the Macho Elbow connects for two!

The call for the Piledriver happens but Mike Rolls it into a Cradle for two, a little back and forth, Pop-Up Spicolli Driver for only 2. EY gets sent, Flair Flip, but EY misses the high risk and when he turns around he eats a Spin the Block for his troubles. 1-2-3, Mike wins, but the Jabronis attack immediately. Sami makes the save.

Next segment is Kaz’s Temu Highlight Reel, “The King’s Speech”. I’m not intrigued because Kaz literally just acts and sounds like he took a Chris Jericho gimmick from 20 years ago and starts using it like he’s clever. 

The Hardy Boyz & Leon Slater vs The Rascalz & Cedric Alexander

Cedric and Leon open things up and no one plays patty cake since all 6 people are faces or at least tweeners right now. Leon and Cedric just go for some leg picks and quick near falls before Cedric Chops him, tags in Myron and Myron a nice Guillotine Axe on the apron, a little back and forth with Leon, but Leon hits the Feint Mule Kick and tags in Matt. Extreme Elbow, Delete Elbow extensions and a tag to Jeff for a quick double team. Jeff a few shots, tags in Leon, Manhattan Drop + Big Boot from Leon gives another near fall. Myron is the workhorse right now as Leon and the Hardyz keep quick tags doing work. Delete Head Smashes into buckles, tag back to Leon, rope run, Wentz blind tags Myron and Leon has no clue so a Pele Kick from Myron, into a Sattelite Codebreaker and then a High Angle Corner Assist Codebreaker gives Wentz a near fall. Leon dodges the Handspring Knee Lift, Jeff blind tags for Leon, they turn things around and Leon sets up Jeff for Poetry in Motion for another near fall.

Matt gets tagged in and keeps the pain on Wentz, even doing the Rocket Launcher into the middle rope. Quick tags keep Stomps and strikes coming from all angles, Jeff hard Irish Whips Wentz and he bounces out of the corner. Wentz dodges a Matt Hardy move, desperation tag to Myron, Sunset Flip Roll into an Okada Dropkick for two. Matt tries to shoot the half but Myron holds him and tags out to Cedric. Brainbuster for a near fall, and then Cedric with multiple near fall attempts before the last commercial kicks in.

Back from the commercial Cedric and Wentz have a double team spot on Matt, but Matt is starting to try and fire, Sole Butt into Sweep and Standing Moonsault from Wentz has Matt on the receiving end. Matt finally fires, cuts off Wentz from the corner, they brawl on the buckles, Headbutts and Hands, Superplex from Matt, so now we get the simultaneous tags. Jeff and Cedric come in, Jeff with his usual comeback offense, Elbows, Wishbone Leg Drop, and now he calls for the Twist, Cedric blocks but then feeds to the corner and eats a Whisper. 1-2- kick out from a brutal Whisper. Jeff wanted the Jawjacker but Cedric hits the Knee Lift to counter, simultaneous tags again, Leon & Reed in, Reed gets rocked, Leon wants the Harlem Sidekick, but misses, Wentz tries to come in for a tandem move but Oscutters for all, into a near fall. Twist of Slate is missed so now it’s just signature spams. Myron hits Stundog Millionaire on Jeff, counters Utopia with a Spin Out Rope Assisted Flat Line for two. Reed tags in Cedric, but everyone comes in, Triplicate Twist of Fates. Fun spot but took too long.

They set Jeff up for the Swanton, but the Rascalz pull out Cedric, so Leon launches to the outside to take out the Rascal team. Cedric back in, Poetry in Motion, Side Effect, Splash and Crossover from Leon as the Rascalz save the match. Corner to Corner Mayu Launches. Wentz and Reed try the MCMG Five Hole Dive but the Hardyz catch Wentz and Reed Superman’s over the top to take out the Hardyz, then Leon flies over the corner to take out Reed. Leon looks for Swanton 450, misses, and eats a Lumbar Check, Cedric and crew win.

Overall Score: 6.25/10

While I don’t think it really sold Emergence any better, this show was at least decent. Storylines made sense, segments didn’t drag, we didn’t open with 30 minutes of talking and even lower scored matches worked to push story forward. Hard to be upset with this episode. Was it general average? Yes. But that’s better than needing a bell curve to pass like a good portion of the last few months have needed.

Now lets see if they can continue this trend of less talky more fighty. Tell the damn stories in the ring instead of microphone after microphone. If you want to steal Japanese gimmicks like Fighting Spirit and Locomotion Corner spots in multiman matches…then how about you try psychology in the ring and stop exposing people who can’t talk.

Honestly one of my major highlights was the Knockouts Tag Conclave…they all spoke decently. M hasn’t had much time to talk, but she was fine, Lei going full subtitles is great and the IInspiration are hilarious. Even Fallon and Jazmyn showed they’re genuinely decent and kinda charismatic between the mean girls faction bullshit.
