Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 8.7.2025

Holy Hell there better be less talking and more matches with some weight today. They get so talk heavy lately it’s insanely boring, it’s like a low budget NXT. I don’t have patience for all the cornball conversation. Whoever is feeding people points or whatever in TNA doesn’t know how to talk out of cliches…so it’s probably Dreamer. I’d trust Lance Storm giving promo pointers over Dreamer.

So let’s just hope this is less boring than the last few weeks. Boring is worse than bad, just like a movie, some kind of strong memory leaves a memory, boredom just breeds contempt. And we’re definitely on the contempt train.

Results:

Trick comes out to talk, kicking the show off. This better not be another damn episode of 80 minutes of talking and only one 10 minute match that matters. 

Trick opens the conversation insulting Moose’s big head and extends it to a whole Bobbleheaded lineage. It’s not a terrible little joke, but TNA starting off like a Dollar General NXT with tons of talking lately is pretty irritating. If I wanted to watch NXT I would cover NXT, let’s remember this is a different show so format the damn thing differently. Moose cuts off Trick and comes out in his Clark Kent glasses, Trick tries to keep the jawing, Moose pops him and looks for the Lights Out before Trick bails.

Kaz comes out with some kind of notice that he’s allowed to be at commentary for one match a night. 

TNA International Championship: Jake Something vs Steve Maclin (c)

It takes 20 minutes of talking to get a match that will most likely be mediocre and yet another lame ass hoss fight. I’d rather struggle with constipation for 8 minutes than whatever this match is going to be. 

Jake runs over Steve a few times, Stee ducks the run and Jake’s Thesz Press, but Steve catches Jake with a Thesz Press to get a few shots in before Jake counters a Lariat attempt with his Thesz Press. Near Fall into a slow counter sequence and an Olympic Slam for another two. Jake sells into the corner, Steve crashes into him, looks for the Suplex but Jake fights it off, then Steve tries again and Jake flips out of it, dodges the Busaiku and Double Lariat down spot. Rising to their feet Fighting Spirit…3 minutes into the match…really? Forearm crashes into each other, Steve dumps Jake to the outside and the SCUD, Jake gets bounced off the steps, they fight to the apron, Hockey fight on the apron, they fall off the apron and Double Count Out. The dumbest looking finish to a match I’ve seen in a very long time. 5 minutes of stupidity and waste of time.

Backstage, SDL and Mance are looking for Santino, they open his door, the office is empty and…it’s insinuated they decide to have sex in Santino’s office? WHO THE FUCK is writing this? Did they hire Russo again?

Double Xias (Xia Brookside & Lei Ying Lee) vs M & Heather by Elegance w/Personal Concierge

Double Xias duck the cheap shot, dual Dropkick, then Lei Ying Lee starts with M, Xia and Lei show some tandem offense and quick tags as they isolate M early. Lei Rising Knee into the 10 Downstrikes, T-Bone Suplex, and Lei levels M to the outside. M rolls back in but a near fall and Stalling Brainbuster are only enough for another 2. Lei tries to decide if she’s tagging out, so M throat chop, but Lei fights out of the double team initially until the referee is distracted by Xia getting mad and Heather takes a bunch of shortcuts before throwing Lei back in for a near fall. M tags out, Double Stomp from Heater on Lei’s extended arms, and then Bow and Arrow submission. Lei tries to fight back up, but Snapmare into a Rings of Saturn converted into a Penta style Arm Breaker. Heather’s actually…looking pretty good wrestling wise and working limbs logically.

Back from an awkward commercial and now Heather hits a big Lariat and gets a near fall, Lei is still isolated. Heather with the Hesitation Dropkick, M taking cheap shots, Heather another two count. M tags in, they go for corner attacks, but Lei fights out and forward rolls under M’s Lariat to tag in Xia! Hot tag and Xia takes them all out, Satellite Frakensteiner into tandem takedown move for a near fall. Lei tags in, Double Twist Lariats, PK, Round Kick into Senton for two, Heather hits a Codebreaker on Xia to break the pin. Lei hits Thunderstruck into the Airplane TKO  for the victory!

We get the follow up segment of Arianna and Santino returning to his office to find SDL and Mance…well let’s just say it’s not insinuated anymore. Arianna walks off disgusted, Santino takes a second peak and then they walk off. It’s stupid, it’s circa 2000s MTV, but at least Santino going for the second peak was funny…it’s still fucking stupid…but that one bit was funny. 

Little buddy KC gets kicked out of Fir$t Cla$$ because he injured his ACL. So Rich Swann is back in and KC got the Josh Dobbs treatment. So hopefully we see KC pair up with Santana like they alluded to a few months ago, and we can get some Babyface Blessings.  

Mara Sade vs Vicious Vickie

Vickie tries to tie her up with an Arm Wring, Mara counters it, and Springboards into a Flatliner and a few flashy moves including a Cartwheel Elbow Drop, she licks her lollipop and hits her Implant Buster variation called Finish Her. WE all knew it was an enhancement match, and Mara looked damn good in general.

TNA Knockouts Title: Jacy Jayne (c) vs ASH by Elegance w/Personal Concierge

In before Masha screws ASH because I swear if we take the pre-school puzzle simplistic angle of just “you screw me I screw you”, I’m gonna somehow lose more faith in this damn product. Masha needs to be far away from the title scene, she’s garbage. Just give her a tag partner so she can go back to Knockouts tag purgatory. She failed as a champ because she has zero aura speaking English. 

Jacy grabs ASH by the throat shoves her into a corner, ASH climbs the ropes to try and Monkey Flip Jacy off with momentum, but it doesn’t work so ASH uses the ropes to break the choke. Nothing violent, just a few counters, jawing, cradles, but ASH gets the best of things with a Shoulder Tackle, then Masha runs in and attacks ASH.

This is awful, but Fallon and Jasmyn hit the ring so…oh and Elegances, so M and Fallon are on the TV right now…oh and Lei comes in to help Masha. Okay, I have found reasons to like it myself, but the match is useless. IInspiration comes out too, so I guess we’re gonna get some kind of bunch of idiots match at Emergence, so it will suck as a match but might be entertaining for other reasons.

Mustafa Ali w/Order 4 vs Joe Hendry

It’s Hendry versus like 87 people, so I’m expecting him to lose or a DQ to build to some bigger thing since Hendry needs space away from the main event scene. They start slow with tie ups and corner shoves, but honestly nothing of note, just grab a hold and World of Sport out of it. We get like 3 minutes of grab a hold counter, blah blah, nothing is worth covering because it’s just posturing and nothing of merit. Finally Ali lands a kick and a few punches, while just Boot Washing and verbally accosting Hendry. Hendry does turn things around with a Hip Toss after the Rope Run, into a Stalling Suplex for a two count. Ali with the throat chop to stun Hendry and strings together a few strikes before Hendry clocks him and sends Ali powdering.

Ali takes his time coming back into the ring and then powders again, the old Jay White NJPW idea of slide in then out to irritate the opponent. Hendry does chase getting annoyed, bouncing Ali off the apron and barricade, but Ali keeps walking, catches Hendry with a few shots before getting Back Body Dropped on the outside. Lots of 10 count breaking so at least we won’t see another stupid Double Count Out. Hendry throws Ali back in, Good Hands distract Hendry and Ali hits a Dive, having Hendry crumpled at Agent Zero’s feet. Near Fall into a Chin Lock for Ali, as we go to the final commercial.

Back and we see Ali hit a Rude Awakening for two. Outside In Rolling Neckbreaker for another two. Ali goes into full Ground and Pound, looks for the Standing Shooting Star but Hendry moves. Ali wants the Tornado off the Middle Rope, Hendry catches, Steadies himself and Suplexes him. Combination Punches into a Lariat, Sack of Shit, Kip Up. Hendry calls for the Standing Ovation, crowd is still with him but Ali escapes, Hotch and Skyler eat Lariats, Ali wants the Flash pin but no, Olympic Slam from Hendry for another two. Hendry takes out two Secret Service dorks, sorry a third, but not Zero. Ali misses a Dropkick and takes out a Service Member, Hendry hits the Cutter as a counter to Ali, Standing Ovation! 1-2-Tasha pulls the referee out!

Referee is playing dead, Great Hands hit The Favor, Ali hits the 450 Splash, but Hendry moves and trips Ali face first into the buckle. Hands get thrown out, Pop-Up Powerbomb on Ali, Attitude Adjustment but the referee is still dead, replacement ref shows up late so only 2 count! Standing Ovation again, but Tasha grabs Joe’s feet and the new ref admonishes Tasha. Ali throws Hendry towards Agent Zero’s Big Boot, 450 from Ali and Hendry loses as was expected.

Overall Score: 5.5/10

Three utterly useless matches, an overbooked main event, and a lot of talking. Some of the talking was more entertain this week, but generally speaking it’s just more rehashed garbage. 5 matches, 3 are irrelevant, 2 are okay, and you sat through a cavalcade of low energy poorly spoken promos or just goofy 2000s crash TV dumb ideas.

Was there more entertainment value? I suppose. Is KC a big reason why this episode matters to me because I see it as the beginning of his Babyface turn? Yes. Mara, Fallon, M and Lei Ying Lee being featured in a few segments is another feather in the cap. But God damn do they need to stop with the poor booking of the International Title. Double Count Outs? Boring Hoss fights. Color by numbers hardcore matches if there’s multiple people. This belt is worse than the Legends/TV incarnation. Give Maclin a bump guy, make him look scary, make one of the matches exciting. Stop putting him with plodding ogres who you give no build to, they just run their mouth, win a useless match and suddenly they get a shot. Build a freakin story you complete imbeciles! And who wants to see Rich Swann back? Ain’t nobody missing him.

This really is just kind of there. It wasn’t good, but potentially was more fun for intermittent fans who don’t watch weekly.
