The Roughneck could not slay The Rampaging Dragon, and is on the back end of the block. The Headhunter got his fifth round bye and is looking to make good on being block leader. Will Hashi always #GetBackUp? Or will he just be part of Shota’s Second Chapter?

The bell rings and the fans rally up. The dueling is strong between “SHO~TA! SHO~TA!” and “YOSHI-H’SHI!” The two tie up, are in a deadlock, but Shota digs his heels in. Shota powers Hashi to ropes but Hashi turns things around. The ref calls the break, Hashi backs off, but then he takes a swing! Shota dodges the chop to headlock but Hashi powers up and out. Shota RUNS Hashi over, but Hashi’s right up! Shota dodges Hashi to shove him and DROPKICK him down! The fans cheer and Shota brings Hashi up. Shota CLUBS Hashi, then UPPERCUTS! Shota UPPERCUTS again, then runs, but Hashi follows to trip Shota up!

Hashi drags Shota out and whips him into railing! Shota roars, runs up, but into a CHOP! Snap suplex to the floor! The fans fire up with Hashi and he goes back for Shota. The ring count starts but Hashi checks his neck before he brings Shota up. Hashi puts Shota in the ring at 10 of 20 and the fans applaud. Hashi then steps in and brings Shota up. The fans join in for the “E! L! P!” but then Takagi gets them to chant, “T! K! G!” The jackets are put aside, the bell rings, and the fans duel with “E L P!” “T K G!” ELP says no, it is “E! L! P!” Takagi says no, it is “T! K! G!” The fans applaud, but ELP keeps it going. “E! L!” Takagi BLINDSIDES ELP! Takagi CLUBS ELP, then says it doesn’t matter. Drilla and Konosuke get face to face right away! Red Shoes wants them to back down, but they start throwing forearms! The fans fire up, the bell rings, and the shots keep going! Konosuke stays in this but the fans rally behind “MO-LO-NEY! MO-LO-NEY!” Drilla aims from a corner, runs in, GORE!! Drilla isn’t done there! He hauls Konosuke up, Canadian Rack, and DRILL- NO, Konosuke slips free! ALPHA ELBOW! Drilla roars, so Konosuke ROLLING ELBOWS! Drilla is down but the fans still rally up! Red Shoes checks Drilla, he’s still conscious, so Konosuke sits him up. Drilla says shove it, so Konosuke hits a POWER DRIVE KNEE!

The Front Man is coming off a huge main event win and is looking for another. Meanwhile, The Dominator already conquered the NJPW World TV Champion. Will Khan conquer THE champion? Or will ZSJ make Khan #JustTapOut?

The two get face to face for a stare down, but they to their corners. The bell rings and the fans rally up. The dueling is rather even between “ZAKU! ZAKU!” and “O-KHAN! O-KHAN!” ZSJ and Khan slowly circle, feel things out, and clinch. They go around, break, and the fans applaud. The two go again, still feeling out the other, then Khan goes for a leg. ZSJ blocks with a facelock, shifts around, but Khan breaks free. The fans applaud again and the two reset. They clinch, Khan goes for legs but they end up on the ropes. Red Shoes calls the break, Khan rolls away, and the fans applaud again. Khan lets ZSJ comes back, and they circle again.

They continue to feel out the grapple, but ZSJ slips around to waistlock. ZSJ sits Khan down but Khan grabs ZSJ’s leg. Khan kneels on the knees so he can wrangle ZSJ with a headlock. ZSJ slips out the back and gets away, and the fans applaud again. The two reset, circle again, and then Khan uses a clap to distract. Khan goes for a leg but ZSJ still blocks that. ZSJ clamps onto an arm but Khan pushes through to a lateral press. ZSJ bridges up fast, slips free, and the fans cheer again. Khan and ZSJ are clearly even in technical skill, what will it take to get the edge? The two circle, feel things out, and ZSJ avoids leg sweeps.

They clinch, ZSJ jumps for a GUILLOTINE, but Khan rolls. ZSJ goes for the ARMBAR, but Khan slips through to get a leg. Khan has an ANKLE LOCK and the fans cheer! ZSJ rolls to the ROPEBREAK! Khan lets go, and that much is a victory in itself. The fans rally up as ZSJ and Khan reset. ZSJ shakes out the leg, walks off the pain, and the two go again. They go forehead to forehead, Khan tries a sweep but ZSJ avoids it. They clinch, Khan flips around to waistlock, but ZSJ rolls Khan into a DOUBLE ARMBAR! Khan fights before it locks in, ROPEBREAK! ZSJ lets go and the fans applaud as things are now even on points.

ZSJ says this is fun, and Khan agrees. The fans applaud this technical masterclass, and we’re already five minutes in. They reset, Khan jumps on for a facelock but ZSJ fights to a headlock. They end up on ropes, go around, and ZSJ shifts to a facelock. Khan rolls free, wrenches an arm, but ZSJ slips free. ZSJ falls back to a corner, Khan pursues, but ZSJ slips away. The fans applaud and the two circle again. Khan and ZSJ again feel out a grapple, Khan wrenches but ZSJ waistlocks. ZSJ wrangles Khan to the mat but Khan powers through. ZSJ’s leg guard keeps him back, but Khan changes the angle so that he can roll ZSJ up! TWO!!

The fans cheer as Khan almost had ZSJ there! ZSJ catches his breath while Khan vents his frustration. The fans rally up and they reset once more. Khan and ZSJ feel things out, knuckle lock, and then Khan shoots around to waistlock. ZSJ reaches down but Khan keeps his legs out of reach. Khan then GERMAN SUPLEXES! The fans fire up as Khan gets the first real bit of offense! Khan then hurries to facelock and he drags ZSJ up. ZSJ endures, Khan fires knees into him, then underhooks. But ZSJ wrenches to PELE the arm! ZSJ then KCISK, but Khan blocks to trip ZSJ! Khan waits on ZSJ, swings, but ZSJ snatches that arm!

ZSJ wrenches, ELBOW BREAKERS, but Khan wrenches to ELBOW BREAKER! Both men BOOT and they both fall down! The fans fire up as these two continue to be evenly matched! Khan rises, the fans rally, and he backs away to a corner. Khan waits for ZSJ to rise up, then he runs in, but ZSJ dodges! ZSJ clamps on but Khan fights the Cobra Twist. Khan switches to COBRA TWIST, but ZSJ fights off the Iron Claw! ZSJ CLAWS Khan’s face, but Khan still gets the IRON CLAW! Khan spins ZSJ around, ELIMI- NO, ZSJ hits an ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! The fans rally, Khan fights around, but ZSJ pulls on the arm! Khan kicks around, but ZSJ grabs a leg!

ZSJ has both arm and leg in a DOUBLE BAR, but Khan fights to the ROPEBREAK! ZSJ lets go and the fans applaud. Khan shakes out his arm while the fans rally up. ZSJ stands and he hobbles over. ZSJ stands Khan up but Khan fights the scoop. Khan fireman’s carries to THROW ZSJ down! Khan holds onto the wristlock, stands ZSJ up, and he KNEES low! Then MONKEY FLIP! Khan rolls to drag ZSJ back up, and he reels ZSJ in, only for ZSJ to block the sayanagi! ZSJ shifts around and he SAYANAGIS! The fans fire up and ZSJ drags Khan back up. ZSJ clamps onto a cording hold but Khan fights the throw. ZSJ tries a different angle, but Khan again fights the throw!

Khan moves around, SAIDO! Both men are down and the fans fire up! The fans rally as Khan goes to the ropes and rises up. Khan stands ZSJ up, winds up, and CHOPS! ZSJ drops to a knee, but Khan stands him up to CHOP again! And CHOP again! The fans rally and Khan puts some stank on the Mongolian- NO, ZSJ SWATS those away! ZSJ UPPERCUTS, then runs up, but Khan catches him into a KATAGATAME! Khan hits a KATAGATAME URENAGE!! ZSJ endures as he’s caught in the Head ‘n’ Arm Triangle! ZSJ fights around, reaches out, but Khan leans his weight on ZSJ! ZSJ fights up, Khan hits another URENAGE!

Khan squeezes tight with the Katagatame but ZSJ still endures! The fans rally, but ZSJ is turning red! Maybe even purple! Khan leans all he can into the hold but ZSJ is still holding on! Khan shifts his angle, then shifts again! The fans rally as hard as they can, and ZSJ starts kicking! ZSJ kicks and kicks and kicks, right to the ROPEBREAK! Khan is stunned but he still lets go. Khan drags ZSJ back up, IRON CLAW SLEEPER! ZSJ endures all over again, and then Khan spins him! ELIMI- NO! ZSJ gets a TRIANGLE HOLD! Khan stays on his feet, even as ZSJ pulls on the arm! ZSJ wrangles Khan down but Khan clasps hands to fight the armbar!

ZSJ shifts to have a proper Triangle, but Khan still fights! Khan pushes up, deadlifts, and he POWERBOMBS ZSJ! Both men are down and the fans fire up again! Khan coughs and sputters as he can finally breathe again, and we’re 15 minutes in. The half-hour time limit is still a factor, even for a main event. Khan drags himself up with the ropes, and he Mongolian Chops! ZSJ drops to his knees! The fans rally, Khan shakes out his bad arm, and he Half Mongolian Chops! And then Half Mongolian Chops again! Khan dares ZSJ to do something, so ZSJ winds up to UPPERCUT! And UPPERCUT! And UPPERCUT again!

Khan wobbles, but ZSJ kicks at him! ZSJ eggs Khan on now! Khan rises up, and he winds up to LARIAT! ZSJ stays up but he does wobble. ZSJ steadies himself, and Khan LARIATS again! ZSJ staggers, but he eggs Khan on more. Khan winds up to LARIAT! ZSJ rebounds to BOOT! Khan rebounds, but into an UPPERCUT! ZSJ fires UPPERCUT after UPPERCUT, but Khan LEFT HAND BODY BLOWS! Cover, TWO! The fans fire up as both men catch their breath. Khan rises, and he scoops ZSJ, only for ZSJ to slip free! ZSJ BOOTS Khan, then runs to the corner! TORNADO DDT, into a facelock! But Khan LEFT HAND ELIMINATORS?!? Cover, TWO!!

The fans fire up as ZSJ survives! Khan rises, he takes aim, and IRON- ZSJ SLAPS first! Khan falls, ZSJ runs, PENALTY KICK! But Khan is right up! ZSJ LARIATS! IRON RIGHT!! Red Shoes reprimands but that shot was double-edged for Khan as it was! Khan shouts, rises up, and the fans rally up behind him! IRON CLAW! ZSJ fights but Khan BITES ZSJ’s hand! Red Shoes reprimands but Khan stands ZSJ up. ZSJ BOOTS the arm away! Khan takes a swing but ZSJ BOOTS the haymaker! ZSJ scoops and spins, SABRE DRIVER!! Cover, TWO?!?! Khan survives, but now he’s in the ARMBAR!!

The fans rally as Khan fights, but ends up back in the Triangle! Khan still clamps the IRON CLAW onto ZSJ! ZSJ pulls on the arm to get the ARMBAR!! KHAN TAPS, ZSJ WINS!!

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr, by submission (gains 2 points; Khan earns 0)

21 minutes of an instant classic, and in the end, THE IWGP World Heavyweight Champion stands tall! But Khan still has 8 points, can he still make it into the playoffs?

As for ZSJ, he gets the mic to tell Khan, “Wasn’t that fun?” Khan grumbles that it’s easy for the winner to say that. ZSJ says he’s willing to give Khan a rematch whenever. But for now, see you later, Khan. ZSJ then addresses Hiroshima, telling everyone that if they weren’t sure, this year still belongs to ZSJ and TMDK! Another mic drop after a short and sweet message, will nothing stop The Front Man from being B Block’s absolute best?

My Thoughts:

An awesome round for B Block, and just look at how the block is shaking out. That many people at 8 points this deep into the tournament, it is going to be a wild shootout for the top three spots. Shota winning against Hashi made sense, just on how Shota is going to make a strong push to the playoffs. Great stuff with ELP and Takagi still keeping the “Baby and Daddy” bet from the KOPW Championship going. Drilla VS Konosuke was a great match, hard hitting, and Konosuke snatching that win was a great finish.

ZSJ VS Khan was a great main event, with a strong technical style showdown to start that then moved into the Strong Style striking showdown. Great stuff from Khan in shifting his style after the right arm was weakened, but ZSJ winning was the right move. The world champ should make a move for the playoffs, and this block’s final rounds will be ones to watch.
