Andrew’s TNA LIVE iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 9.4.2025

So not a lot of matches are on the slate for tonight, and it’s a Live show. So that means they’re doing the WWE formula of more talky less fighty. That’s not a great format for them normally, they tend to put the mic in the wrong hands, say cliche or boring stuff and let people with negative charisma speak (staring at you Masha). Maybe if we avoid the landmines and make some of the talking matter…this won’t be as painful as it looks.

Am I being nice? Sure, I’m in a good mood. Do I expect TNA to disappoint me and be kinda lame tonight? Also yes. But only one way to find out!

• Matt Cardona vs Frankie Kazarian: Kaz wins via Fade to Black – ** 1/2
• Winner Gets Title Shot At BFG: Jody Threat vs Dani Luna vs Indi Hartwell: Indi wins via Cradle – ** 3/4
• Team Extreme 2025 vs Order 4: Team Extreme 25 wins via Twist/Lita Sault/Swanton combo – *** 1/4

Results:

Santino comes out, calls the Tricky Williams a sleazebag liar, and he piss him off. He doesn’t always think with his brain, he thinks with his Cobra. After a few other innuendos, he gets to the point about needing to get his own lawyer to deal with ramifications. Santino reconfirms the BFG will have Santana versus Trick for the belt. We all saw this coming, but sometimes the obvious direction is the best. Santana’s music hits, it’s nothing crazy just a quick run down of Trick being a bitch and some hype for the BFG match. Simple open but at least it didn’t go too long.

Out of the commercial, we get an AJ Francis, Moose and Mike Santana backstage moment and then Ryan Nemeth comes out to talk about his BIIIGG BROOOTTTHHHEERR. Cardona’s music hits, he runs down Ryan and tells him to leave because no one cares. But you don’t disrespect Mokuba like that! Ryan retorts with Big Brother envy, Cardona says his Brother sucks, Ryan swings, misses and gets bonked. It’s so dumb, it’s charming.

Matt Cardona vs Frankie Kazarian

We open with the Collar & Elbow tie up, ref calls for the break, Kaz goes for an opportunistic shove and then ducks between the ropes for safety. Simple strikes, Shoulder Tackle and Cardona Dropkick into a Flapjack for a near fall but Kaz powders to slow the pace. Ducking and dodging on the apron, Cardona dodges Kaz’s Leg Drop and hits a Wrecking Ball Dropkick. Ryan Nemeth is still outside, Cardona hits him again and then keeps dog walking Kaz, but Nemeth grabs Cardona while Kaz distracts the ref. Another commercial…oh thankfully the YouTube feed doesn’t really have commercials, so Cardona is getting rocked, eats the Russian Leg Sweep and Springboard Leg Drop, so Kaz still dominating Edge’s Bitch. Cardona tries to turn it around, but Kaz reverses the Whip and Cardona flies into the post. Kaz waltzes into the ring and waits for the count out. Cardona gets in at 9 and Kaz jumps on him, face scrapes, and then Kaz screams “Verne Gagne sucks” at the crowd. That’s a cut I didn’t expect in 2025.

Double Crossbody, Double Lariat and then Double Boot spot before they finally fall down. They didn’t just do 1 cliche down spot, they did all 3! Frankie telegraphs the Back Drop, Cardona with the Face Smash, Missile Dropkick, wants the ReBoot but Kaz powders. Wrecking ReBoot catches Kaz on the outside, Ryan distracts, Slingshot Cutter spot for Kaz and…two count. Cardona tries Un-Pretty-Her, but Kaz counters, a few strikes before eating a Pop-Up Spinebuster. Cardona wants Radio Silence, Ryan gets involved again, eats the Radio Silence and Kaz hits Fade to Black for the win.

Gia looks to interview Kaz after, and Kaz talks smack about Maclin, and the Jersey Jarhead charges out taking offense telling him to bring it. Kaz obviously is on his own time, but Kaz versus Mac should be a great match. Kaz doesn’t mind bumping and it’s not gonna be a lame Hoss match or overdone Hardcore match. 

The Elegance Brand Championship Soiree – Maggie looks adorable, so…I’m firmly distracted and entrained. Rehwoldt makes a Golden reference…the song from KPop Demon Hunters. He steers into it since Tom thinks it’s Katy Perry, so I’ll give Matthew credit for owning the cringe…but its still cringe. WOW, she actually gets a smattering of Thank You chants. ASH is giving her arrogant thank you speech, Masha’s music hits though, and while she can’t talk, Masha looks looks good tonight. Ugh…Masha vs ASH at Victory Road for the title. Masha better lose, I don’t need to see her anywhere near the main title scene. Xia and Lei come down to make the save ones the numbers catch up to Masha. 

Elegantos turn it around but The IInspiration hit the ring and make the heels bail. It’s cringe, but its funny. No more Masha as champion though, make sure she loses. 

Winner Gets Title Shot At BFG: Jody Threat vs Dani Luna vs Indi Hartwell

Given that it’s officially a BFG title shot, Indi probably wins this, but I’m team Dani Lunatic. 

Jody tries to make amends. but Dani shoves Jody into Indi, Jody and Indi start Standing Switches into a Tandem Back Drop when Dani charges and Jody and Indi pair off. Short Arm Lariats into a Vertical Suplex give Jody a near fall. Indi Low Bridges Dani, Dani grabs Indi to the outside and then Jody dives on both of them. Jody grabs Indi in, Indi counters everything, looks for the Elbow, but Dani shoves her off, Boot from Luna and then a Swinging Air Raid Crash for a near fall. Dani keeps Indi out of the ring with a Boot and stays on Jody. Jody holds the ropes to stop Dani, Indi comes in and immediately eats a Northern Lights Suplex for her insolence.

Jody ducks some of Dani’s attacks and fires back with Chops, Drop Toe Hold into the ropes, looks for the Knees into the German, but Dani dodges. Lariats Jody out of the ring, but Indi fires up on her, Lariats into Spinebuster, Flying Elbow to the back of Dani’s head, but Jody breaks up the pin. All three slowly rise, Dani and Indi throw a few strikes, Jody gets involved and Indi redirects a Dani punch into Jody’s face, Jody hits the Michinoku Driver but Indi breaks up the pinfall. Indi and Jody fight on the apron, Jody wants Pop SHove It, but Dani tries to pull them both off, Indi kicks Dani, Jody Sentons Dani, and Dani is down right now. Jody wants to the fly, Indi dodges, misses the boot, Pop-no…Hurts-no, Locomotion Cradles and Indi gets the best of the successive Cradles. Dani attacks after the bell, but Dani wasn’t pinned, and she’s irate.

We…have to hear from Joe Hendry. At least WWE makes him likable again, TNA for some reason has no clue what to do with him. Thankfully Joe is thriving elsewhere. Blah blah, stuff, calls out Eric Young, Eric Young says Joe’s biggest contribution to TNA will be starting the Cleanse with Joe Hendry. When Joe says how about tonight, EY freaks out like Ric Flair…it’s funny that Eric Young has just slowly morphed into a raspier Ric Flair with worse flunkies. 

Team Extreme 2025 vs Order 4

Jeff starts early, Jeff and Mara pull off a Triple DDT, Tasha wants into the match, Mara is rolling until she starts selling the injuries from last week. Tasha tries to take advantage, but a Gamengiri gives Mara space, she tags in Matt. Delete Buckles, WONDERFUL and Extreme Elbow leads to Matt calling for the Twist, Agent Zero pulls out Matt, ref missed the initial grab but smartens up, and gets ejected. Skyler explains he has to leave or they’re Disqualified and Hotch flies through the sky and takes out Matt. Skyler and Hotch double team Matt, so Sklyer keeps up with Rabbit Punches into a few big punches and Headlock on Matt to slow things down, and Skyler and Hotch start some double team moves with Tasha taking some pot shots while the referee is distracted by Jeff and Mara. Skyler clocks Jeff off the apron, Matt hits a desperation Side Effect and Mara reaches for the tag.

Mara runs over Tasha with some Laraits, Flying Forearm and her Sexy Slingblade into a Power Slam for two! Hotch grabs Mara’s hair and drops her when she tries to hit the ropes, and now Tasha takes over. Mara eats three Elbows, Dodges one short Lariat but Tasha hits her with the second and Mara is getting rocked in the corner. Mara counters, tags to Jeff and Tasha tags to Skyler, so Jeff starts making the comeback. Hotch tries to interfere, Skyler tries to pull the tights on a cradle but Jeff grabs the ropes. Poetry in Motion, Side Effect and Splash for two. Skyler and Hotch try to slow down Jeff, but a few shots stall them and they both eat the Whisper in the Wind. Hotch makes sure the match doesn’t end and hits the Corkscrew Pele on Jeff, Matt clocks Hotch but Skyler hits the Slingshot Spear on Matt. Mara and Tasha are the only ones up and they just throw hands, Tasha wants a Gotch Style Piledriver, Mara counters into Finish Her. Skyler and Hotch want to hit The Favor on Mara, but Matt saves the new Lita, Twist of Fate, Mara goes up and hits the Lita Sault! Jeff hits the Swanton for the win.

Nic and Ryan attack the Hardyz with Danger Zones after the win, then Nic Superkicks Mara. I guess Nemeths versus Hardyz at Victory Road. 

Overall Score: 5/10

Unsurprisingly mediocre. Were there a few fun segments? Sure. Was Mara dressing up like Lita a nice touch? Very yes. But nothing really accomplished anything, Indi getting the number one contender spot was obvious, Masha getting a rematch at Victory Road is miserable, Ryan doing the BIIG BROTHER and helping out Kaz was nice, and Nic Nemeth’s return spot was kinda fun. But the ring work was average and the most of the beats were paint by numbers.
