Stevie Turner speaks.
“Good evening. As your Evolve Prime Minister, I have a couple of announcements to make before the exciting night of action ahead of us. I have brought in Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon of Chase University from NXT to face the Vanity Project’s Swipe Right in a tag team match. And I am super excited to announce something I have been working on for quite some time. On October 15th, Evolve will hold our first-ever Tubi special, Succession, where for the very first time, both the Men’s and Women’s Evolve Championships will be defended on the very same night. The contenders for both those championships will be decided over the next two weeks.”
These are indeed big moves from PM Stevie Turner and her fourth-dimensional thinking! Who will be the ones who succeed in making their way to Succession?
Kendal Grey is here!
The fans cheer as Kendal makes her way out here, victorious from last week’s I Quit Match! Kendal steps into the ring, grabs a mic, and says, “For the past seven months, Wendy Choo has been terrorizing WWE Evolve. And last week, I was able to make her say, ‘I Quit.’ Y’all remember that?” The fans cheer that! Kendal continues, “You see, beating Wendy has been one of my biggest wins in my career so far. And it’s only proven that all of my hard work is finally paying off.” The fans cheer that, too. Kendal says she came to Evolve to find who she was, who Kendal Grey was. And every time she steps in this ring, or in NXT, she gets more and more comfortable.
So comfortable, she knows there is not a woman in this division that’s on her level. And that is including the WWE Evolve Women’s Champion, Kali Armstrong! “Kali, you are the Difference Maker of Evolve. You’ve run through all the girls that come after your championship. But I heard Stevie talking about the Tubi special, and I was thinking, why not have the Difference Maker VS the Arm Breaker for the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship at Succession?” The fans cheer that idea! But wait, here comes Kali! Kali has a mic to say, “Okay! Okay!” The fans chant, “Too Strong! Armstrong!”
Kali says Kendal is feeling herself, y’all. Give it up for Kendal. PSYCH! Kali already knew that once Kendal made Wendy say her first words, that Kendal would be coming after Kali’s Evolve Women’s Championship. And she doesn’t blame Kendal, rightfully so. Now, they don’t really know each other that well, but Kendal is scrappy and Kali likes that. Kali steps into the ring as she says she wants to make one thing crystal clear: Wendy Choo is not Kali Armstrong. Kendal says, “Yeah, but… Everybody looks the same when their back is on the mat and their arm is locked in an armbar.”
But then Chantel Monroe barges out here, saying, “Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, absolutely not!” The Showstopping Diva stops this right now because she knows exactly what’s going on. If Evolve is having their very first special, it won’t be with the “Indifference Maker” and “Mighty Mouse” here! Kali tells Chantel to watch her mouth, and Kendal says at least she’s still mighty. Chantel steps into the ring to say that title is so perfect. It’s just unfortunately in the hands of the wrong woman. It should be around the waist of the Reflection of Perfection! The Showstopping Diva! The- Now Kendal has Chantel stop.
Kendal says they don’t have time here to sit and listen to ALL the nicknames Chantel has for herself. Chantel had her shot, and dropped the ball, multiple times! And if Chantel doesn’t remember, go look in the mirror and try. Chantel says, “Oh, girl, please! I would be the champion right now if not for Kylie Rae messing me up in the Fatal 4 Way. But we don’t have to worry about that, because I took care of her, thank you.” But wait, here comes Stevie herself! The fans cheer and Kali says she already knows what Stevie is here to do. She’s trying to make a Triple Threat, but no, please. Kali would never disrespect the GM, but…
This is the first-ever Tubi special! Allow Kali to defend her title in a 1v1, straight up match. The fans cheer that. Kali continues with, “Cuz for real, these chicks be complaining. They be whining, talking about, ‘You didn’t pin me! I wasn’t in it.’ All these excuses and I ain’t got time for it. When that bell rings and I’m still the winner, I want them to know it’s simply because I was better.” The fans applaud that! Stevie says she hears Kali on that. Kendal, Chantel, you both have great track records, to be fair. But Stevie agrees, Succession should be 1v1. That’s why tonight, we’ll get Kendal Grey VS Chantel Monroe, and the winner faces Kali for the Evolve Women’s Championship!
The fans applaud and all three women like that decision. But who will come out on top as THE #1 Contender?
The Vanity Project talks backstage.
Swipe Right is super confident that they can handle Chase U’s “crumb bums,” Kale & Uriah. The U is apparently for University, who knew? Uh, everyone but you, Ricky. Stevie then walks by and Ricky stands up tall. Jackson Drake knows she’s looking for him. And word on the street is that by the end of the night, we all know who Kali will be defending her title against for Succession. How about she be a dear and tell the Number One Star, HER Men’s Champion, Jackson Drake, who he’s defending his title against? First of all, never refer to yourself in the third person again. Brad tells Stevie to hold on now, this is #HeartbreakDrake here, he does what he wants.
Smokes says yeah, that’s classic Drake. And also, fit game is on point, Prime Minister! Smokes puts on a bad British accent and tips an imaginary hat. Stevie snaps at Smokes while Zayda Steel scolds him. But Stevie says Drake’s Triple Threat with Keanu Carver and Brooks Jensen was just incredible. For that reason- Please, don’t say they run it back. No, no, she wants to see a 1v1 for the Men’s Championship, too. So it will be Brooks Jensen VS Keanu Carver, the winner gets their second chance at Succession. Drake says how about neither of them is worthy. Stevie tells Drake that what SHE says is final, got it?!
The Chase U theme plays, and Stevie says time for Swipe Right to get going. Brad & Smokes head to gorilla, but will they all be in for a #TeachableMoment on respecting authority?
Swipe Right w/ The Vanity Project VS Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors w/ Mr. Chase!
The fans chant, “SWIPE LEFT!” while the teams sort out. Kale starts against Smokes and the two tie up. They go around, Smokes pulls hair to put Kale on the ropes, but the ref counts. Smokes lets off, and he SLAPS Kale! The fans boo but Smokes does his stupid no-face dance. Kale just laughs that off to storm up on Smokes. Smokes puts him in a corner, grinds his forearm, but Kale dodges the cheap shot to CHOP! And SLAP Smokes in return! The fans cheer, and Kale says “Swipe Left!” Smokes gets mad and runs up, but into a drop toehold! Kale headlocks, Smokes powers up and out to tag Brad. Kale CLOBBERS Smokes, but Brad kicks Kale!
Swipe Right gets Kale for a DOUBLE SUPLEX, but Uriah makes the save! Chase U DOUBLE DROPKICKS! The fans fire up while Swipe Right tumbles away. Drake and team coach Swipe Right, but Kale headlocks Brad. Brad powers up and but Uriah tags in. Kale whips Brad, then mule kicks Brad down for Uriah to LEG DROP! Cover, TWO! Uriah brings Brad up, tags Kale, and they DOUBLE SUPLEX, but Smokes makes the save! Swipe Right DOUBLE FLOP as Chase U steps back! The fans cheer, and then we get a STEREO SPLASH AND SENTON! The fans fire up for Chase U, Drake is worried about his boys, but Kale runs in around the way!
Smokes dodges Kale, and Brad BOOTS him down! The fans boo as Swipe Right talks trash, “That’s who we are! Vanity Project, baby!” Swipe Right is feeling good, but Evolve goes to break.
Evolve returns and Brad runs up to BLAST Uriah! Kale is up, Smokes SLINGSHOT SPEARS! Cover, TWO! Kale stays in this for the team but Smokes says, “Make some noise for ya boys!” The fans boo, does that count? Smokes reels Kale in, suplexes, but Kale fights it to lift and SLINGSHOT- NO, Smokes slips free of the suplex! Smokes waistlocks, Kale ELBOWS free, but Smokes anchors as foot! Kale hops, but Smokes ducks the enzigiri! Smokes suplexes high and hard! Cover, TWO! The fans rally but Smokes stomps Kale. Smokes has Kale on the ropes as he stomps more, but Brad has him back off at 4. Brad tags in, he stomps Kale, then brings Kale up.
Brad hits a GOURD BUSTER, then a KNEE LIFT! Cover, TWO! Kale is still in this and Brad grows frustrated. Brad drags Kale around by a leg, but Kale fakes the enzigiri to then ENZIGIRI after all! Both men are down, hot tag to Uriah! Uriah runs through Brad to BOOT Smokes! Then he dodges Brad to GAMANGIRI them both! The fans fire up as Uriah snapmares Smokes, goes up and over, then comes back to CLOBBER Smokes! And CLOBBER him again! Then he drops down, DROPKICKS, and the fans fire up! Brad runs up, but Uriah gets around him, and Uriah ripcords Brad into Kale’s BOOT! Uriah runs and springboards, STUNNER!
Kale has Brad for a BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Brad tumbles out, Uriah builds speed, and Uriah FLIES! The fans fire up again as Swipe Right sputters! Uriah puts Smokes in, goes up a corner, and he SWANTON BOMBS! Cover, TWO! Smokes survives, but Uriah hurries to tag Kale. Kale fireman’s carries Smokes, but Smokes fights free to shove Kale at Uriah! Tag to Brad, they DUMP Uriah out, and then DROPKICK SPINEBUSTER COMBO on Kale! Cover, Uriah barrels in and breaks it! The fans fire up, “This is Awesome!” as both teams regroup. Uriah tags back in, then they brawl with Swipe Right! The fans fire up as the CHOPS fly, too!
Uriah kicks but Brad blocks, swings it at Kale, but Kale catches that to throw it back! Brad ducks so the HEEL KICK hits Smokes! Brad ENZIGIRIS Uriah! Brad runs, but into a DOUBLE HIP TOSS, TU LO SABE! Cover, SMOKES STOMPS IT! The fans fire up again and Smokes LARIATS Kale up and out! Chase checks on Kale, but then Bryce & Drake storm up. Uriah CROSSBODIES off the apron to take them both down! The fans fire up and Chase coaches Uriah back to the ring. Uriah has Brad, but Brad cradles him, TWO! Uriah has the cradle, TWO! Both men stand, SUPERKICK from Uriah to Brad! Uriah runs, but Smokes trips him up!
Uriah swipes at Smokes, but Brad JUMP KNEES Uriah! Tag to Smokes, and they scoop Uriah for the SUPER SWIPE! Cover, Swipe Right wins!
Winners: Swipe Right, by pinfall
The fans boo but Vanity Project just rubs it in Mr. Chase’s face. Drake then grabs a mic to say, “Let’s go, baby! That’s another W for the best looking crew in the whole damn business! Hey, Swipe Right, way to get it done, boys.” The fans boo but Drake asks if Bryce saw that. That’s how you handle business, unlike Bryce when he fumbled the bag in the Mixed 8 Tag and killed the vibe. But that’s okay, because Ricky & Brad just brought the team back up. If the fans would shut up and listen, he could tell them something interesting. The fans keep booing, but Drake brings up how Brooks Jensen and Keanu Carver face off next week, the winner facing Drake at Succession.
And honestly, dude, Drake is not feeling that. He doesn’t wanna wrestle either of those guys again. Having two threats for his title is a disaster. A buzzkill of epic proportions. So what Drake is saying, he’s got a problem. And when he has a problem, The Vanity Project has a problem. When the champ and the VP has a problem, they send in The Fixer. And Bryce, that’s you. So WWE Universe, do not worry, because every little thing is gonna be alright. Bryce Donovan will take care of it. Play their music now. The fans still boo, but what does Drake mean by Bryce handling this for him?
Harley Riggins & Jax Presley regroup in the locker room.
They’re both feeling good but feeling sore from their big workout in the Performance Center, “bumpin’ and benchin’.” What did The Space Cowboy even hit today? Jax says 405, three reps, nothing crazy. But Gnarly Harley says he’s pumped. Getting the W off their debut, this whole locker room is scared. No one wants to step to the Blue Chippers! If those tag titles ever get announced, they won’t even need a tournament, just hand them over. Wait, Jax just got a text from Stevie. She tells them that Adrenaline Drip wants a rematch! Bro, that’s gotta be a joke, AI or something. Jax say Adrenaline Drip’s flippin’ and flyin’ is cool and all, but they already got smoked.
Harley says “Simple Jack” got broken in half, and now “Coffee Guy” thinks he can just make demands around here? Jax says they can accept the rematch. If Adrenaline Drip wants to get their asses kicked again, Jax & Harley will give it to ’em, no fees added. Harley says bet. Hit Stevie back. And look at ’em. Who would’ve thought? Uh, Jax would’ve. Yeah, Harley would, too! They head out, but will they just score another touchdown on Cartwheel & Cappuccino? Or will they find that the second time around won’t be so easy?
Chuey Martinez is backstage.
He welcomes us back, and says there is a lot of buzz and excitement here with the news of Succession. And that gives tonight’s main event huge implications on who will face Kali Armstrong for THE WWE Evolve Women’s Championship. He wants to know what the word on the street is, so let’s see who’s around. Chuey finds Masyn Holiday & Layla Diggs and asks them who they’re picking to win tonight. Masyn says she hates to say this, and Layla says don’t say it, but Masyn predicts Chantel wins. Layla says she wants Kendal to win, and they both know Kendal just beat Wendy Choo. Who even knew Wendy could talk?
Nikkita Lyons joins the conversation and says she didn’t know little freaky Wendy could talk, either. Um, wait, Wendy’s right over in the corner… Masyn says Wendy might be freaky, but in the end, Wendy can whoop ass. Chuey asks who Lyons thinks is winning tonight. Lyons says it doesn’t matter, because SHE should’ve done had her own 1v1 with Kali a long time ago! Lyons struts off, and Wendy has moved closer. Masyn & Layla get outta there, and Chuey asks Wendy who she predicts for tonight’s main event. Wendy says, “This is gonna be harder than I thought.” Wendy leaves, but did Lyons just make herself a target?
Stevie Turner meets with It’s Gal.
She thanks Mr. Mint Condition for seeing her, there are just a few things they need to talk about. Gal might want to sit for this. Oh, what is it? Well, Jamar Hampton’s medical scans just came back. He has a cracked hip, and will be out of action indefinitely. Gal says that’s a horrible shame! But that’s what Jamar gets for going as hard in the gym as Gal so recklessly. No one can keep up with him! Oh, sure… Sorry to be the bearer of bad news…? But then Ridge Holland comes knocking, and asks if what he just heard is right. Brooks Jensen VS Keanu Carver as the #1 contender’s match? Yes, that is correct.
What about Ridge? Actually, y’know what? Just name him the contender right now! Tate Wilder storms in and says you don’t talk to a lady that way. Especially not Miss Stevie! Ridge says, “Look who it is, The Lost Cowboy, live and in living color!” What’s Tate gonna do now? Tell Stevie he’s quitting? Stevie says Tate wants his rematch with Ridge, so he’s got it. Tate says hold on, he doesn’t want that. Wait, what? Ridge says see! He’s quitting! No, he’s not quitting. But Ridge is right, Tate is not ready. Not yet. But he will be. Tate heads out, and Ridge does, too. Gal sighs, and Stevie asks why he’s still here. Seriously, shoo, go away.
Gal sighs as he exits, will Jamar Hampton’s hip ever be the same? When will Tate feel he’s ready to rope the “Steam Pig” in the ring again?
Keanu Carver speaks.
“Jackson Drake, tonight, your worst nightmare’s about to take place. I’ve got one final roadblock in my way before I crush your ass and take that Evolve Championship at Succession. Brooks Jensen, I don’t know you, and I don’t care to know you, bro. You smooth. You might be smooth in that ring. But you gonna damn near have to end my life to stop me from getting that Evolve Championship. You ready to do that?! HUH!? When I get my hands on you, I’m gone SMASH you the same way I did to those ID kids. You don’t know where I’m from, and you don’t know what I’ve been through. You don’t know what I had to do to get here.
“You walk them streets in DC, I had to fight my way to get to the front porch! The roadblocks is gone. Boy, I’m not playing with anybody on this roster! No reject cowboy is gonna stop me from getting that title shot, so you better watch your back, because that Evolve Championship is mine.” The one man demolition crew from DC is ready, will the Lost Cause lose more than just a match next week?
WWE Evolve Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Kendal Grey VS Chantel Monroe!
Both women have the skills and the confidence to go far in the WWE, but only one of them can face Kali Armstrong for the gold! Who proves they’re ready to not just Evolve but to reign?

Winner: Kendal Grey, by submission (NEW #1 Contender to the WWE Women’s Evolve Championship)
Carlee Bright is here to celebrate with big hugs as her bestie is now set to face the champion! Even Kali comes back out here to applaud. The title match is set for three weeks from now, who will prove they’re truly the best in the Evolve Women’s Division?
My Thoughts:
Great stuff from Evolve, probably their best episode yet, and I’m not saying that for there only being two matches and only 45 minutes. It was because we got great matches with some great story behind them, and we’ve got the roadmap for the coming weeks. Good opening promo from Kendal, Kali and Chantel with Stevie to set up the big main event tonight. I appreciate Kali saying she can’t keep doing Triple Treats and Fatal 4 Ways, and that Stevie accepted the premise. The promo of the other superstars giving predictions was good, it helped hint at what Wendy will do next. Wendy VS Lyons could be some great stuff to bide time for a title opportunity.
A shame about Jamar Hampton, assuming that hip injury is real, or at least is an excuse for some other injury he needs to recover from. At the same time, Jamar did speak harshly of Hulk Hogan after his passing… I doubt they’d cut Jamar just for his opinion, so ironically we have to hope he’s recovering. Good promo from Ridge and Tate to respond to the Men’s #1 Contenders news, but it was mostly just repeating stuff we saw before. Great promo from Keanu to hype the match, and I feel like he should be the one to win. At the same time, Bryce is being made to somehow go after Keanu and Jensen, I wonder if Bryce disqualifies the ending, we get a Triple Threat from that, and Bryce wins so that he ends up facing Drake instead.
Vanity Project overall did another great job tonight. Good group promo while being watched by “fly on the wall” cameraman a la TNA. Stevie shutting down arrogant Drake was great, and then we got a great tag match from Swipe Right VS Chase U. Uriah Connors just impressed last night on NXT, great to see him doing the same on Evolve (though obviously this was filmed before NXT). But in the end, Vanity Project’s numbers of course won it for Swipe Right. Swipe Right are of course the #1 seeds for whatever tag title scene we get, but Jax & Harley are clearly making moves. They’ll have a great rematch with Adrenaline Drip, and I would think Adrenaline Drip wins the rematch to force yet another match that sends one of the teams towards the titles.
My Score: 8.7/10
