Sammy Guevara speaks.

“Shh… Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk. Unfortunately, my hermano, Rush, is injured and cannot compete next week at Final Battle, so once again, my ROH Tag Team titles are held up. But this time, it is no surprise who my partner is gonna be, baby!” Beast Mortos steps in, decked out in beanie and fur coat. Sammy dares teams to step up and get squashed by LFI, baby! They are more fuego than ever before, and fuego means fire! So again, whoever you may be, step up for Final Battle, because the ROH World Tag Team Championships are gonna stay right where they belong, and that is with la familia! That’s Spanish for family.

The Spanish God & monstrous minotaur have put out the challenge, but they’re also in Survival of the Fittest together! Will everything come up LFI in ROH?

Six Man Tag: Shane Taylor Promotions VS The Dark Order!

While STP holds the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships, this isn’t a Proving Grounds match because Anthony Ogogo and ROH Pure Champion, Lee Moriarty, step into the ring with Big Bad Shaney T. instead of The Infantry. But will they still be just as solid? Or can Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds & John Silver still find their way to a title opportunity this close to Final Battle?

The trios sort out, #TAIGASTYLE starts against The Meat Man, and they keep the Code of Honor. Lee pretends like the handshake hurt, and the bell rings. The two circle while the fans rally up, and they tie up. Silver headlocks, Lee powers up and out, but Silver RUNS him over! Silver flexes, the fans cheer, and things speed up. Lee drops down, hurdles, but Lee stops the flip and sits Lee up to PENALTY KICK! The fans applaud, Silver tags Uno, and they mug Lee. Uno tags Reynolds, they SLINGSHOT DOUBLE BACK SUPLEX, and then Silver basement DROPKICKS! Ogogo runs up, but into a double drop toehold!

Uno STOMPS Ogogo’s hands, and Dark Order TRIPLE DROPKICKS! Ogogo bails out, Shane storms in and he DOUBLE LARIATS Silver & Uno! The fans fire up, Reynolds fires forearms, but Shane shouts, “Are you outta your damn mind, son?!” Shane THROWS Reynolds to the corner, runs up, but Reynolds dodges! Reynolds runs back in and ELBOWS Shane! Reynolds DROPKICKS the legs out, runs the rope, ducks one lariat but not the SOUTHPAW! The fans fire up and Shane snarls. Ogogo KNEES low again, then scoops to SLAM! Ogogo has the cocky cover, ONE! Ogogo mocks Reynolds for being a tough guy, then says he’s nothing! He stands Reynolds up but Reynolds fires forearms! Ogogo throat chops! The fans rally as Ogogo whips Reynolds to a corner, then BACKDROPS him! Ogogo runs up and UPPERCUTS! Cover, TWO! Reynolds survives, Ogogo argues the count, and Ogogo drags Reynolds up to bump him off buckles. Tag to Lee and Lee KNEES Reynolds again and again, then DOUBLE KNEES! Reynolds drops to his knees, but Lee waistlocks to deadlift and back suplex! But Reynolds lands out!

Reynolds RUSSIAN LEG SWEEPS and puts on the KOJI KLUTCH! Ogogo stomps Reynolds! The ref reprimands, Ogogo tells him to shut up, and Lee drags Reynolds over. Tag to Shane, they mug Reynolds, and Shane talks trash on Reynolds to do something. Reynolds fires a forearm! And another! Shane grins, winds up, and DECKS Reynolds! Reynolds flounders, Shane tells him to get up, and Reynolds rises to fire more forearms! Shane eggs Reynolds on, Reynolds fires more shots, but Shane DECKS him! Shane BLASTS Uno & Silver for good measure, then he lines up a shot. Reynolds rises, Shane runs corner to corner, but Reynolds BOOTS him away!

Reynolds goes up, leaps, FLYING CODE BREAKER! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Shane and Reynolds crawl, hot tags to Lee and Uno! The fans fire up as Uno rallies on Lee and Ogogo! UPPERCUT after UPPERCUT in the corners, then LARIATS and ELBOWS! Uno CHOPS Lee, snapmares, and then BOOTS Lee! Uno reels Lee in, then gets Ogogo! DOUBLE DDTS! The fans fire up and Uno stalks Lee. Uno brings Lee up to a dragon sleeper, and the SAVING GRACE! Cover, Ogogo breaks it! Silver gets in and BOOTS Ogogo! Shane JABS Silver down! Shane blocks Uno’s kick and KNEES him down!

Silver KICKS Shane! And KICKS, KICKS, KICKS! Shane blocks, talks smack, then SHOVES Silver! Shane runs up, Silver trip shim into the ropes! Silver runs, Reynolds is there, DOUBLE KICK COMBO! Lee is up, Silver & Reynolds dodge! FLAPJACK UPPERCUT! Uno joins in and the fans fire up! They get Lee up, Silver runs, but Shane trips Silver! Shane drags Silver out to DECK him! Reynolds WRECKS Shane! Ogogo POP-UP HAYMAKERS Reynolds! Uno BOOTS Ogogo out! Lee tilt-o-whirls, LA MYSTICA into BORDER CITY STRETCH!! Lee stomps the hand, PULLS on the hold, Uno TAPS! STP wins!

Winners: Shane Taylor Promotions, by submission

STP puts Dark Order down, and now they’re rolling into Final Battle and that ROH Six Man Tag title defense with Sky Flight! Will STP show Scorpio, Darius & Dante how to rumble, bad man, rumble? Or will Shane end up losing in his own backyard of Columbus, Ohio?

Black Christian speaks.

“Fate’s got a funny way of working out. I find it funny that I end up in this match off a technicality. All the work that I put in all year, not just being undefeated but carrying ROH, I end up in this off a technicality. But y’know what? That’s fate. And sometimes, it works out exactly how it’s supposed to. So Rush, his misfortune turns out to be my gold mine, because I am officially in the Survival of the Fittest for the ROH World Championship. And y’know what, last year at Final Battle, I made a name for myself. And this year, there’s only gonna be one difference: It’s that I walk out the ROH World Champion.” Vanilla Baby is hungry for gold, will he get to eat his fill at Final Battle?

Jay Lethal and Adam Priest speak.

“Hey, guys, Jay Lethal here. And I bet you’re wondering, along with my buddy, Priest, here, why I asked for this interview time. And that is because I’ve got something to get off my chest. In front of the world, I want to issue an apology to a good friend of mine, and that’s you, Priest. Cuz the other night, when we wrestled the Death Riders, I feel like we lost that match mainly because of my actions. I was going for Pac with the Lethal Injection, but unfortunately, I caught you by mistake. From the bottom of my heart, in front of the world, I just wanted to issue an apology. I’m sorry-”

Priest brushes Lethal’s hand off his shoulder? Priest says his neck still hurts, it has been killing him all week. Lethal knows, it is frustrating, and he’s sorry he hurt Priest. He wishes it didn’t happen. But the Death Riders, it was chaos, and he is sorry. Priest says yes, he is right, he accepts the apology. They’ve got their match tonight, they gotta go find Tommy, they gotta get ready. Priest leads the way, but will things be okay between the trio?

Six Man Tag: Jay Lethal, Adam Priest & Tommy Billington VS The Frat House!

The trios sort out, but The Frat just attacks! The fans boo and the bell rings as Jacked Jameson & Cole Karter DUMP Priest & Tommy out of the ring while Griff Garrison keeps after Lethal in the corner. Griff whips Lethal, Lethal reverses, and then HIP TOSS to cartwheel and DROPKICK! The fans cheer, but Jameson sends Tommy into railing! Lethal tags Priest, they double whip, but Griff reverses. Lethal & Tommy rush in but the ref stops them, which only lets Vance join in! The Frat all mugs Priest, then stomps Cole down! Tag to Jameson and they both stomp away!

Jameson puts Priest on ropes, then runs to BODY CHECK him through the ropes! Cover, TWO! Jameson whips, pops Priest up, SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Jameson says, “Lemme hear ya say Fraaaat Hooouse~!” The fans boo instead. Jameson bumps Priest off buckles, then he tags Cole. Cole rains down fists, tags Griff, and they both stomp away! The fans boo, The Frat lets off, and Griff stands Priest up. Griff whips Priest hard into the open corner! Priest falls to the mat, Griff drags him back over, tag to Cole. Cole stomps Priest down, hauls him up, and throws hands. Then he stomps Cole down!

The fans boo but Cole drags Priest up. Priest fires hands, CHOPS Cole, then whips. But Cole reverses, wrenches, and Griff tags in, BOOT O’ DOOM! Cover, Lethal breaks it! The fans cheer, but Griff scrambles back onto Priest to keep Lethal away. Griff drags Priest over, tags Jameson, and Jameson takes the red Solo cup. The one rule: Win or lose, they BOOOOZE~! The fans boo, Jameson drinks up, and SUPER SENTON FLOPS as Priest moves! The fans fire up while Jameson sputters! Priest rises, but Griff and Cole lurk around the way! They YANK Lethal and Tommy down! No tags here, and Jameson whips Priest. Priest BLASTS Griff & Cole!

Priest BOOTS Jameson, ROCKS Cole again, then sends Jameson into Griff! Priest hurries for his corner but Jameson hurries to waistlock! Priest switches, Jameson ELBOWS and fireman’s carries, but Priest slips free! Jameson RAMS Priest into the corner, then runs up again, but Priest dodges! Jameson POSTS himself! Hot tag to Tommy! The fans fire up with Tommy, then he goes back up the corner!

But Vance gets on the apron! The ref reprimands, but Lethal DROPKICKS Vance down! Lethal dodges Cole to LETHAL INJECTION on Cole! And then Priest hits the MACHO ELBOW! Tommy tops it off with the DYNAMITE DIVING HEADBUTT!! Cover, Tommy and team win!

Winners: Jay Lethal, Adam Priest & Tommy Billington, by pinfall

A massive rebound win for The Franchise Player and his friends, and BREAKING NEWS from Tony Khan! Final Battle will see Sammy & Mortos have that tag title defense against Priest & Billington! Will that be LFI’s Final Battle as champions? Or can they deny these rising stars their moment in the spotlight?

ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament Quarterfinals: Serena Deeb VS Yuka Sakazaki!

The Professor of Pro-Wrestling has been waiting, as has the Wrestling Magical Girl, and we finally see them have it out in the ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament! But will there be no mercy in Deeb’s Dojo? Or will Yuka put a spell on her and be the fourth of the Final Four?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and we’re on the clock. The fans rally up, and Deeb gets them to get hotter. Deeb and Yuka circle, tie up, and Deeb wrenches to wristlock. Yuka spins through, wrenches back, and wristlocks. Deeb rolls, rolls, and headlocks to spin and spin and hammerlock, then she spins Yuka to slip through and wrangle with a wristlock. Deeb then stands to hammerlock again, then headlock. Yuka fires body shots, powers up and out, but Deeb RUNS Yuka over! Deeb runs again, but Yuka arm-drags! Deeb avoids the leg sweep to SWEEP the leg, but Yuka kips up to arm-drag!

Deeb bails out, the fans fire up, and Yuka uses the middle rope to slingshot out and LARIAT Deeb down! The fans fire up with Yuka as she goes back to Deeb. Yuka puts Deeb in the ring, stalks her, and gets the legs. Yuka has the ANKLE LOCK, but Deeb scrambles to the ROPEBREAK! That is Deeb’s first of three and we’re two minutes in. Deeb hobbles, but Yuka facelocks. Deeb fights the lift to wrench and WRING out the arm! Deeb then steps through on the arm and traps it. The fans rally, and Deeb TWISTS the arm! Yuka writhes, but Deeb wrenches and whips, only for Yuka to reverse. Deeb ducks ‘n’ dodges to then LARIAT!

The fans rally up for Deeb as she watches Yuka go to a corner. Deeb runs in, Yuka dodges, but then Yuka blocks a boot. Deeb uses the British Escape, KICKS Yuka, then goes to the apron. Yuka runs up but Deeb catches her! Deeb turns Yuka, HOTSHOT NECKBREAKER! Yuka flounders away, the fans rally up for Deeb, and she brings Yuka up to wrench and clinch. RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Then ARMBAR with a headscissor modification! Yuka endures, the fans rally, and Yuka slips free to get the arms! MOTORCYCLE STRETCH! Deeb scrambles to the ROPEBREAK! That’s Deeb’s second at just under five minutes!

But Deeb then kicks off the ropes and switches things onto Yuka! The fans rally as Yuka now endures the motorcycle stretch, knee digging into her back! The fans rally, Yuka fights, and now she uses a ROPEBREAK! That is Yuka’s first but Deeb looms over her. Deeb drags Yuka by her legs, drops an ELBOWS on the knee again and again, then GROUND DRAGON SCREWS it! Deeb drags Yuka around again, the fans rally up, and Deeb hooks the legs. Deeb pulls Yuka back to fishhook her nose! The fans boo, Deeb also got Yuka’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Deeb stops reaching, and she STOMPS the knees!

Yuka goes to ropes, Deeb runs up, but Yuka drop toeholds her into the ropes! And then KNEES her in the back! Yuka goes up the ropes to PENDULUM DROPKICK! The fans fire up with Yuka and she climbs the corner! MISSILE DROPKICK! Then Yuka reels Deeb in, suplexes, and SLAMS! Cover, TWO! Deeb is tougher than that, but Yuka puts her in an STF! The fans rally as Deeb endures, and Deeb pries at the crossface. Deeb reaches out, ROPEBREAK! Deeb has used her final one and we’re not even seven minutes in! Yuka drags Deeb up, scoops her, but Deeb fights it! GUILLOTINE FACELOCK!

Deeb squeezes tight, then shifts into the TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Yuka staggers up, Deeb runs in, but Deeb blocks a boot! She puts that leg in the ropes and DRAPING DRAGON SCREWS the other! Yuka writhes but Deeb drags her up the corner! The fans rally and duel, Yuka fights the lift, and Yuka ROCKS Deeb with forearm after forearm! Deeb wobbles, Yuka nods, and the fans fire up! Yuka brings Deeb up, adjusts position, and the fans fire up for the SUPER DUPER PLEX! The fans fire up while both women are down from that landing! The standing count begins, Yuka rises first, and she storms up on Deeb.

Deeb UPPERCUTS first! And UPPERCUTS again! Deeb pie faces Yuka around, the fans boo, but Deeb keeps pushing Yuka around! Yuka takes off the elbow pads! Yuka ROCKS Deeb with forearm after forearm! The fans fire up and Yuka runs, ROLLING- NO, Deeb ducks to full nelson! Yuka breaks free, but Deeb shoves to SNAP GERMAN! Yuka stands, Deeb wrenches, hammerlocks, PEPSI- NO, Yuka ducks the lariat to stack Deeb up! TWO!! Deeb escapes but Yuka scoops! NORTHERN LIGHTS BOMB! The fans fire up while Yuka goes to the apron! MAGICAL GIRL SPLASH but onto knees! Cover, TWO!!

Yuka survives the turnaround, but Deeb brings Yuka up, and we hit ten minutes. Backslide, but Yuka rolls through! Only for Deeb to reel her in and tuck the arms! DEE- NO, Yuka powers out to SUPERKICK! Yuka wrenches, hammerlocks, lifts, and spins! MAGICAL GIRL FACEBUSTER! Cover, Deeb reaches ropes, but she has NO ROPEBREAKS! YUKA WINS!!

Winner: Yuka Sakazaki, by pinfall (advances to the semifinals)

Deeb herself is shocked! For being the Professor, Deeb didn’t study up on the rules nor her opponent! Will Yuka prove that even a Magical Girl can be a Pure wrestler?

ROH shares footage from after Full Gear.

Ricochet sits with his newly won AEW National Championship and says, “Now look. I don’t wanna be the one to say that we told you so…” Bishop Kaun says, “But we told you so.” Ricochet smiles and says that now, the quest for gold is complete, and the champion is in Demand. And when you’re in demand, you can make demands. And when you don’t follow demands, you get PUT DOWN! AHA~! But just who will the One & Only defend this title against at Final Battle?

Nigel McGuinness speaks.

“As a former ROH Pure Champion myself, I understand just how difficult it is to hold onto that title. Well, at Final Battle last year, you proved what a good champion you are when you beat me to retain it. But in the time since, I’ve beaten you in the Technical Spectacle. Which in my mind, makes us 1-1. And I don’t know how much more time I’ve got to wrestle, or how many more matches I’ve got in me. But I know one of them needs to be with you. I wanna settle it with you once and for all. A 30 Minute Ironman Match at Final Battle! Where either you or I leave as the better wrestler. Lee, you may be the best ROH Pure Champion of all time, but who leaves Final Battle as the best wrestler that night? Challenge sent.”

And apparently CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Lee Moriarty VS Nigel McGuinness, one last time for all the marbles! But will it still be #TAIGASTYLE on top? Or can Nigel prove he’s as good once as he ever was?

Komander VS Mansoor w/ MXM TV!

Speaking of titles, The Ace of Space has that Proving Ground golden ticket to the ROH Pure Championship, but he’s also part of that Survival of the Fittest match for THE ROH World Championship! Will the Commander of the Skies take control of his own destiny? Or will the Iron Chic prove Komander is NOT #TVReady?

The Code of Honor is upheld through fingertip touching, and the bell rings. The two circle, tie up, and Mansoor arm-drags! Komander goes to a corner while Mansoor lounges in the other. MXM TV is all fired up, the fans are a bit torn, but the two circle again. Mansoor and Komander tie up, Mansoor arm-drags, and Mansoor says he’s the greatest in the world! Mansoor celebrates with MXM TV, and Mason carries Mansoor around the ring with a reverse piggyback ride. So… A piggy-front? Anyway, Mansoor gets in the ring again, he and Komander tie up, but Komander avoids the arm-drag to ghost pin! TWO!!

Mansoor panics, Komander arm-drags again! And again! Mansoor fakes Komander out, ghost pins, but Komander rolls through to DROPKICK! The fans fire up, Komander storms up on Mansoor, and he whips Mansoor to ropes. Komander goes Matrix to avoid a lariat, then mule kicks. Things speed up, Komander handsprings over the dropdown, but then Mansoor hurdles! Mansoor POSES, but Komander KICKS him int he butt! Then Komander runs to RANA! Mansoor tumbles out, Komander builds speed, but Komander handsprings to fake Mansoor out! The fans cheer but MXM TV is frustrated already.

Mansoor storms in, Komander wants another Tip of Honor, but then he blocks Mansoor’s kick! Mansoor apologizes, but Komander FLIPS Mansoor! Mansoor flounders to ropes, Komander runs up, but Mansoor DUMPS Komander out! Mansoor triangle jump FLYING CHUCKS! A bit of Johnny TV’s moveset there, and Mansoor builds speed! Mansoor fakes the dive to POSE! The fans boo but Komander is up top! Tightrope walk and MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up and Mansoor bails out. Komander builds speed again, but Taya stands in the way! The fans boo, but Mansoor trips Komander and drags her out under Taya!

Taya taunts Komander while Mansoor sends Komander into steel steps! Komander falls in a heap but Mansoor storms up to stomp him! “Who’s the man, huh!?” Mansoor stands Komander up, whips him hard into railing, and then he leaves Komander behind. MXM distracts Komander so Johnny can lift Taya and POWERBOMB her into Komander! Komander slumps down, but Mansoor stands on Komander! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, and Mansoor steps off at 4. Mansoor CLAWS the mask, then ROCKS Komander in the back! Mansoor CLUBS Komander, the fans boo more, but Mansoor puts Komander in the ring.

Mansoor tells the fans to shut up, and he puts Komander on the ropes. Mansoor CHOKES Komander, Johnny & Taya kiss right underneath. Komander is disgusted, but Mansoor TOSSES him out! Mansoor distracts the ref so Mason can LEG LARIAT! And POSE! Mansoor puts Komander back in the ring, covers, TWO! Komander shows his toughness but Mansoor bumps him off buckles. Mansoor climbs up, rains down fists, and the fans count along. Mansoor goes to 6-7~! Then ELBOW DROP! Mansoor ROCKS Komander, Komander rebounds and ROCKS Mansoor! They go back and forth with forearms and the fans rally up!

Mansoor BOOTS Komander, then brings him up. The fans rally, Komander fires fast hands and a CHOP! Komander runs, but Mansoor atomic drops to SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! The fans cheer but MXM TV is annoyed. Mansoor huffs ‘n’ puffs and storms up on Komander. Mansoor drags Komander up, CHOPS him, then whips corner to corner. Komander ELBOWS back, then BOOTS Mansoor, to go up and FLYING- NO! Mansoor stops the rana to swing Komander back up! But Komander makes it a FACEBUSTER! The fans fire up as both men stir. Komander and Mansoor rise, Mansoor goes to ropes, and Komander KICKS!

Komander blocks a shot to KICK! Then he ducks to DROPKICK the legs out! Komander kicks, Mansoor ducks, but the SOBAT and DDT connect! Cover, TWO! Mansoor shows his own grit but Komander goes to the corner. The fans rally, Komander climbs, and he tightrope walks, but Mansoor SHOVES Komander down! Komander hits apron, but Mansoor distracts the ref with talk of something in his eye. Johnny whips Komander, but Komander jumps up onto the barriers! And then he jumps up onto Johnny! Komander uses Johnny as a pillar to jump back to the ring! The fans fire up, Komander SMACKS Mansoor, then Komander springboards! TO ARIHARA MOONSAULT JOHNNY!

The fans fire up as Komander gets back in, dodges Mansoor, and DIVES onto Mason! Two down, one to go! Mansoor runs up, Komander dodges, dodges again, but then DIVES onto Mason, sending him into the crowd! No, Mason is not a souvenir! Komander then TORNADO DDTS Mansoor on the floor! The fans fire up as Komander hurries to get Mansoor back in. Komander goes back up, the fans rally, and Komander tightrope walks! CIELITO LINDO!! Cover, Komander wins!

Winner: Komander, by pinfall

It was basically 4v1 the entire time, but this made great practice for Survival of the Fittest! Will Komander be able to defy the odds all over again and become the NEW ROH World Champion?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode of ROH at 74 minutes, and some good Final Battle build considering they had to change quite a few plans. Though, it really exposes how ROH is the afterthought when the injuries to Rush and even Dralistico has put Sammy Guevara and Beast Mortos in a double duty situation. They’ll surely retain the ROH Tag titles against Priest & Billington, but they’re not gonna win Survival of the Fittest. Blake Christian had a good promo about his part, got a good win with Lee Johnson tonight, I feel Blake is a top choice. Komander had a great match with Mansoor and MXM TV, but he won Survival of the Fittest last year to be ROH World TV Champion, not sure they’d have Komander repeat one year later.

For that matter, ROH is such an afterthought that Nick Wayne has still been “hurt” while ROH World TV Champion, we didn’t get any update or even an Interim Champion, the heck is that about? They should’ve addressed that the last time we even saw Nick Wayne on TV and how he was actively avoiding being medically cleared. Maybe that’s half the reason the National Championship is going to be on Final Battle. Good promo from Ricochet & The Demand but I’m pretty sure from last night’s Collision, it could/should be Ricochet VS Dalton Castle for the National Championship. Great Six Man match with STP beating Dark Order, and really good promo from Nigel. A 30 Minute Ironman Match for the Pure title is going to be awesome, can’t wait to see it.

And great match from Deeb VS Yuka, but I am legit surprised they had Deeb lose. I mean, Deeb talking herself up was clearly setting her up to lose in the finals or something, but losing in the “first round?” And by the way, a first round that took WAY TOO LONG to finish up. But at least they’re gonna get the finals at Final Battle. Yuka VS Billie Starkz, Deonna Purrazzo VS Queen Aminata, both happen next week on the go-home episode so that the title match is at Final Battle, that’ll be great stuff one way or another.

My Score: 8.5/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 12.4.2025

Final Resolution is tomorrow, there haven’t been a lot of episodes to establish things. But invasion warfare writes itself at least.

Published

on

Well if you didn’t hear that TNA will be moving to AMC instead of AXS TV, they did a whole video package for the first 5 minutes of the show with a cover of Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight. They’re making it feel like a big deal, which is honestly great and is truly pretty big. AMC is in twice as many homes as AXS TV, so this is their first upgrade since moving from Fox Sportsnet to Spike TV in 2005.

Let’s hope they use all of this downtime with a month off after Bound For Glory, Thanksgiving was a clip show and the Turkey Suit match, and they keep saying tomorrow’s Final Resolution is the end of their year, so they may just do their usual clip show end of year too. So TNA needs to come out swinging next year with three months of nothing and questionable Russo-esque decisions.

More Rascalz, that’s how we can start AMC off strong, Golden Treehouse, give them all the titles.

Ratings:

  • Brooks Jensen vs Home Town Man: Jensen wins via Rolling Kick – ** 1/2
  • Dani Luna vs Xia Brookside: Xia wins via Small Package – ** 3/4
  • Robert Stone vs Mike Santana: Mike wins via Spin the Block – SQUASH
  • Mustafa Ali vs Trey Miguel: Ali wins via Sharpshooter – ***
  • Steve Maclin, Cedric Alexander, Hardy Boyz vs Tyrek, Tyson, Stacks & Lexis King: Lexis wins via Cradle – ***

Results:

Brooks Jensen vs Home Town Man

HTM is actually…out wresting Brooks early. Brooks tries to come out using his size and youth, but Cody-erhm-HTM has counters for everything culminating in a Crossbody for two. Hometown goes for the Sliced Bread but it’s too early and Lexis King on the outside causes enough issues to turn the tide. Brooks starts throwing HTM around, Uppercuts, Stomps, Knees to the back of the head…but Brooks misses a knee! Homie tries to fire and go for a slam but falls over because Brooks is too big. Brooks goes for the Bear Hug submission as Hometown tries to plead to the crowd. Homie claps bells, rope runs a few times into Brooks, Brooks stays up, so a little rope-a-dope into a Flying Lariat and then a Power Slam! Hometown Elbow, into Hometown Slice…but Lexis hits the apron and Homie hits the Dive on Pillman Jr. Lexis grabs Homie to slow the momentum, Homie gets caught with a really slow and ugly Capo Kick…but…effective. 1-2-3, NXT gets a win with cheating.

IInspiration comes out to remind people that the Knockouts Tags are still sadly a title and they’re the champions. Tessa and Victoria Crawford interrupt the goofy ahh promo, Tessa is fantastically snarky…their Mila newbie from Turning Point blind sides Cassie and Jessie, so it looks like Tessa may have the makings of a faction. But as they taunt, the IInspiration gets up since Victoria and Mila are kinda joke characters right now. So Tessa bails as Vix and Mila get rekt. Honestly, I’d like to see Vix and Tessa win the title. Tessa is too good to be without gold this long, she’s made her apologies, giving her the Tag belts is a good softball to see how crowds react. Plus Tessa looks like a million bucks, so you want her on AMC.

Dani Luna vs Xia Brookside

My heart is conflicted. I love Dani Dumptruck, but I have no desire to see her beat Lei Ying Lee for the title. The Xia mirror match at least has the fun story of teammates colliding, which doesn’t need a build and Brookside can lose with no real damage.

Dani just tosses Xia off a few times. The power advantage is all in favor of Dani Dumptruck. Xia does manage to use the ropes to help take down Dani with a Headlock, but Dani powers out eventually. This definitely builds like a World of Sport match, which yes, they’re both British, but this is slow, deliberate and Dani is just tearing apart Xia with Knee Bars, Arm Captures, Stomps and Power moves. Back from the commercial Dani is playing wall ball with Xia Brookside as the ball. Obviously we’re waiting for the underdog fire from Xia, but you just have to wonder if it’ll be enough to win, or just make it more competitive. She’s selling well with her body language and facials as she starts the comeback with Forearms, a stiff one and two funny Lariats into a Satellite Facebuster.

Charging Elbow into the corner, Broken Wings, and Xia hits the Crossbody for two and Xia is selling the injured limbs, but had a nice burst of throwing it all out there. Dani with a power out Snapmare, tries something but Xia locks in the Octopus Hold! Dani tosses her off but eats a Russian Leg Sweep and then Xia locks in an Armbar. Dani stands and turns it into a Buckle Bomb, rope assisted Blue Thunder Bomb…and only two. Dani starts hunting for chairs and chains, but Indi Hartwell comes down, doesn’t see Indi attack Dani, so Xia with the Small Package for the win.

While I’m glad we get the Xia mirror match, I don’t want to see Dani and Indi again unless they have Dani finally get over. No reason to try to set up Dani as this brute and have her lose every time it matters.

Robert Stone vs Mike Santana

Stone attacks Mike as he’s coming out of the crowd, and he takes the advantage until he telegraphs a Back Body Drop, eats a kick and then Spin the Block levels Robbie E in no time.

Mustafa Ali vs Trey Miguel

Trey was playing with Ali early, counters, ducking, playing around avoiding offense. But Ali finally clocks him, and the pace slows down but Trey snaps back with a Back Elbow, catches Ali in the Up and Over Crucifix Bomb. Two count, Mustafa powders, Trey tries to chase, but Mustafa catches him sliding through the post into a DDT on the floor. Ali lands a few shots, Trey tries something but Ali catches him into a Stalling Brainbuster…stalling for what feels like 30 seconds before dropping Trey down. Rolling Neckbreaker is countered by a Lionsault from Trey. Trey kicks off Ali with a lift and Tiger Wall Run, into a Dropkick. Ali tries to bounce with it and come back at him but a Frankensteiner from Trey keeps Ali on the back foot. Bunch of counter gymnastics next, Ali is on the outside, Trey wands the dive and does the Rey Mysterio Sliding DDT to the floor. Trey throws in Ali, Meteora, but only a two count. I forgot that wasn’t Trey’s finish anymore since he hasn’t had a solo match in a minute.

Some acrobatic assist crap into a Springboard Destroyer, Ali manages to Matrix out at two. Trey tries the Meteora again and misses, so Ali locks in the Sharpshooter and Trey taps. It was alright, but overly cooperative Wuxia wrestling is lame. I’ll play Where Winds Meet or watch a Jet Li movie if I want to watch cool spots for the sake of it.

Steve Maclin, Cedric Alexander, Hardy Boyz vs Tyrek, Tyson, Stacks & Lexis King

Maclin and Alexander blindside NXT while the Hardyz enter alone. So TNA with some payback on the sneak attack side, Maclin Kitchen Sink on Stacks, Maclin tosses Lexis to Cedric and Ced snaps off a German. TNA is in full control early on. Maclin tags out to Matt, Arm Wringers and then the Hardy combination after Matt tags in Jeff. Hardys hit Poetry…no Lexis gets in the way and breaks up the poetry, all 8 are in, 3 NXT members are thrown out, Stacks is left and he’s getting bounced around by all four TNA wrestlers until they just Double Hip Toss him into the pile of waiting imbeciles because of course we need that spot. Announce team does remind us that Stacks is Arianna’s fiance, so thus further leading to her being the mole in the company.

Back from the commercial, oh look NXT is winning. Commercial break 101 where the momentum is completely shifted and we don’t actually get to see it. Stacks is wearing out Cedric, but they start trading blows until an errant kick from Stacks forces him to eat a Dragon Screw. Simultaneous tag, Lexis and Maclin, Maclin rocks Lexis, Vader Hammer, Elbow to the back of the skill, Hip Attack, Caught in the Crosshairs, but Lexis sits up. Maclin wipes out all of the NXT guys who try to interfere, but Lexis with a Wrecking Ball Dropkick to take control. Now Maclin is in the NXT corner getting cut off and worked over.

Stacks and Lexis over extend. Missed Cannonball, Maclin chucks Lexis over the top, Double Lariat down spot. Another simultaneous tag Jeff and Lexis, classic Jeff offense with an addition of an Apron Splash on the entire NXT squad on the outside. Jeff looks for Swanton, but Stacks says no and Lexis crotches Jeff. Cedric gets involved and we reach the signature spam moment of this multiman imbecile matches.

Lexis Superkicks Matt, but the Hardys hit the Plot Twist on Lexis! Stacks breaks up the pin and we’re still going on. Stacks tags himself in and attacks Jeff but gets crotched. Matt and Jeff hit a Tree of Woetry in Motion. Maclin does a Jeff Hardy dance before Caught in the Crosshairs, Cedric dives on the mass of humanity outside…but Lexis hits Maclin with the cane in the chaos, and Maclin eats the pinfall.

Overall Score: 5/10

This was a very mediocre episode. I’ll say they got the outcome of Dani and Xia correct, but the way they got there is lame. Indi’s facial expressions are awful, so her trying to be angry looks more constipated. The crowd loves Indi and in shorter matches she was fine, but when expected to control or emote a story, she is completely worthless. Tessa with her little Disciplinary Committee is amusing since she’s the only legit one in the group. The swerve to the NXT angle is looking more and more like the obvious linchpin of Arianna turning heel.

All in all, the show was inoffensive, but with the inconsistent filming and what feels like throw together PLEs last few months, I can’t really care when you can tell there’s not much creative energy utilized. At least we didn’t have to sit through an awful “Mr. Elegance” segment. But yeah I’m not going to expect any real effort until the first AMC episode, because they’re just coasting on a bad schedule, missed episodes and no real main event scene.

Winner: Komander, by disqualification

The fans boo as Sammy ruins this match! And he SUPERKICKS Komander for good measure! The fans boo more as Sammy RIPS at Komander’s mask, and SNATCHES it off!! Abrahantes hurries to find a replacement, but BANDIDO rushes out here! The Most Wanted CLOBBERS Sammy with the belt! And BOOTS Mortos! Then SUPERKICKS Mortos! Komander gets his mask back, puts up his dukes, but Bandido helps Komander to his feet. The fans cheer them both on, but then Don Callis is on the mic! “Senoras y senores! In the immortal words of Mil Mascaras, donde esta me pantalones blancooooooo?”

The fans boo Callis insulting a legend, but Callis continues to say, “From the great country of Mexico y La Familia de Don Callis, ariba la familia, ariba Hechiceroooooooooooooo~!” And as such, The Alchemist of Lucha ATTACKS FROM THE CROWD SIDE! SHOTGUN on Bandido, then LFI mugs Komander! Hechi bumps Bandido off buckles, Mortos SNATCHES Komander’s mask again, and Hechi hits Bandido with the SWINGING BACKBREAKER! Mortos adds some stomps, then he and Hechi go after that mask! Komander tries, covering his face with a shirt, but he gets thrown aside! The fans boo as Mortos holds up the ROH World Championship.

But then Hechi snatches the title from Mortos! Hechi is not about to let Mortos claim he’ll win tomorrow night. They tug-o-war on the belt, Sammy joins in, and then Sammy holds up the belt! The fans boo, but even Mortos disagrees. Family and friendships aside, these three are going to fight over this belt! Sammy tells them both to just put the belt down and worry about this on Friday. The fans chant, “Sammy Sucks! Sammy Sucks!” but could Final Battle be the end of Bandido’s reign?

Six Man Tag: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners VS Jake Omen, Ashton Adonis & Josh Crane!

While The Peacock & The Youngest Men Alive want to be strong in the Trios Division, their run in with The Demand has given Castle a chance at the AEW National Championship! Will Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd help Castle enter Final Battle with major momentum? Or will they regret overlooking Mr. International, Mr. Astonishing & The Luckiest Man In The Building?

The trios sort out and Truth starts against Omen. They tie up, Omen headlocks, but the fans rally as Truth powers up and out. Omen RUNS Truth over, then mocks the flex! Omen says shove it, then runs, but Truth drops down, hurdles over, and tells Omen to stop! And check out the gun show! The fans cheer Truth’s flexing, and he hits Omen with an atomic drop! And a DROPKICK! And then an arm-drag! Omen scrambles, tags Crane, but Truth arm-drags Crane down! Wrench and tag to Turbo, and the fans rally up! Turbo wrenches, tags Truth back in, whip and BODY BLOW to a KNEE LIFT, then a BIG back suplex!

Truth tags Castle, Castle SPLASHES DOWN! The fans cheer as Castle joins in with the flexing. Omen & Adonis run up, but The Outrunners HIP TOSS them away! Castle gut wrenches Crane and deadlifts him up! The fans fire up and Turbo tags in! Castle THROWS Crane, Turbo tags Truth, and the Outrunners handoff the wristlock. But Crane pulls hair, puts Truth in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Omen, he CHOPS! Tag to Adonis, he CHOPS! Tag back to Omen, he and Adonis double whip, but Turbo sneaks a tag! Truth dodges to CHOP and CHOP and CHOP! Crane runs up, but Turbo ROCKS him! The Outrunners pinball Crane, then scoop SLAM!

Crane flounders away, Truth points to their opponents in the corners. Truth & Turbo each run to SPLASH Omen & Adonis! Then they go corner to corner to SPLASH Adonis & Omen! Then they hit the BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO! The fans fire up wth Turbo but Omen manages to tag Crane! Crane SLAPS Turbo, but the fans tell Crane he messed up. Turbo fires up, Crane apologizes, but Turbo roars! Turbo DECKS Crane, winds up, and DECKS him again! The fans fire up and Turbo points to Castle! The fans rally up, Turbo tags Castle in! The Peacock storms in, gets Crane, and waistlocks to SLAM! Omen runs up, but into an ELBOW!

Crane is back, Castle gets under to THROW him! Adonis tries, Castle THROWS him, too! Castle blocks Omen’s boot, reels him in, and THROWS him! The fans fire up with Castle, but Omen & Adonis run up! Castle dodges, The Outrunners DUMP those two out! Then they get Crane up! Whip and scoop, Castle SLAMS Crane down! The Outrunners raise their hands, the fans fire up, and… “TURBO FLOYD! YOU SONOVAB*TCH!” Handshake and DOUBLE ELBOW DROP! The fans cheer as then Castle Alabama Lifts! They all spin for BANGARANG!! Cover, Castle & The Outrunners win!

Winners: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners, by pinfall

The Peacock says this is why he is fit to be a National Champion! Castle is running hot, but wait! The Demand is here! Ricochet swaggers on out, and the Gates of Agony attack from behind! It’s like a replay of the last time! The fans boo as Kaun whips Truth hard into railing, and then Liona whips Turbo hard into railing! Ricochet mockingly asks what happened, then he steps into the ring with Castle. Castle fights off the Gates, Ricochet backs off, and the 2v1 gets the better of Castle! Ricochet then BELT SHOTS Castle to top it off! Ricochet backs up to take aim, the Gates set Castle up, SPIRIT GUN!!

The fans boo even harder, but The Demand stands tall over Castle. Will The One & Only AEW National Champion stay the AEW National Champion? Or is he the one underestimating this former ROH World Champion?

Queen Aminata talks with Deonna Purrazzo backstage.

And it is clear by the neck brace what this is about. Aminata says she requested this time. After speaking with Tony Khan and the doctors… She didn’t want to end her tournament run this way, but unfortunately, she is not medically cleared to wrestle. They both wanted to wrestle each other, but Aminata’s neck is not something she can gamble with. That said, Aminata forfeits, and Tony Khan has granted Deonna a bye in the tournament. Aminata wishes Deonna luck, and Deonna thanks her. Deonna says this isn’t how she wanted to win like this, either. She has always prided herself on being a fighter, and she wanted to fight Aminata for that finals spot.

But it doesn’t matter if it is Billie or Yuka, Deonna will win and become the first-ever ROH Women’s Pure Champion, And when Aminata is cleared, while Deonna is champion, she’ll be waiting for her. Deonna then tells Billie and Yuka that it doesn’t matter who wins tonight, because tomorrow, ROH is about to become fluent in Purrazzo again. The Virtuosa sends her ultimatum, but will she still prove herself the best technical wrestler in the Women’s Division?

Mercedes Mone VS Lovely Miss Larkan!

The CEO did NOT take lightly to Red Velvet accusing her of ducking and dodging. #UltiMone is here to make a point, but will THE Undisputed ROH Women’s World TV Champion be spotless going into Final Battle? Or will her Money Train be derailed by The Trauma Train?

Larkan is way too excited for The Code of Honor, but Mone still shakes her hand. The bell rings, and Mone THROWS Larkan down by her hair! The ref reprimands and the fans are torn, but Mone does her CEO dance. Mone drags Larkan up, says this is HER show, but Larkan kicks low! And UP KICKS! Then then pumps up, only for Mone to block the kick! Mone KNEES Larkan down! Then brings her around, BACKSTABBER into STATEMENT MAKER!! Larkan TAPS, Mone wins!

Winner: Mercedes Mone, by submission

The champ doesn’t get paid by the hour, so she makes quick work of Larkan. She tells Red Velvet to keep crying, because Final Battle will be her last battle! Will Mone still hold onto the ROH Women’s World TV Championship? Or is #ThirteenBeltsMone about to have some bad luck?

ROH Women’s Pure Championship Semifinal: Billie Starkz VS Yuka Sakazaki!

With Queen Aminata’s withdrawal, everyone knows who the winner of this match will face at Final Battle. But will Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths look to enter her second-ever inaugural championship match? Or will the Wrestling Magical Girl put a spell on Billie and head for the gold?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and we are on the clock. The fans rally as the two circle, feel things out, and Billie calls for the Test of Strength. But then she teases Yuka with constantly switching the hands! The fans boo but Billie smirks while Yuka pouts. Billie also teases Yuka for her height and Yuka huffs ‘n’ puffs. They circle, tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, and they go around. Yuka powers Billie to the corner, Billie powers Yuka back, and Billie waistlocks. Yuka fights, they go to ropes, and the ref counts. Billie lets go, and that counts as Yuka’s first. But Yuka kicks Billie low! Yuka snapmares Billie, shifts around, body scissor and ROLLING CRADLE!

The fans fire up as they go around and around and around, then finally stop on the cover, TWO! The fans cheer while Yuka rises up. Yuka ducks ‘n’ dodges, then RANAS! Billie tumbles out of the ring and the fans fire up! Yuka watches Billie stumble around the outside, and she hits the low-slingshot, only for Billie to dodge the lariat! Billie ROCKS Yuka, goes for the post, but Yuka stops herself! Yuka ROCKS Billie, then POSTS her! The fans fire up with Yuka and she brings Billie up. Yuka puts Billie in the ring, then springboards, but Billie SUPERKICKS her first! Billie then has the SLEEPER on the ropes! The fans boo, the ref counts, Billie stops at 4.

The ref calls that a neutral break, and Billie drags Yuka in. Billie THROWS Yuka down by her hair, stomps away on her, then glares at the ref. Billie drags Yuka back up, ROCKS her with a forearm, then CHOPS! Billie whips Yuka corner to corner, then runs up to LARIAT! And DDT! Billie grins off that stiff impact and she covers, TWO! Yuka survives and Billie is frustrated already. Billie drags Yuka up, Yuka ROCKS Billie! And fires more shots! Yuka CLUBS Billie as we’re four minutes in, and Yuka suplexes. Billie blocks it, Yuka CLUBS Billie again, then puts her against ropes. The ref counts, Yuka stops, that is Billie’s first!

But then Billie ROCKS Yuka with a closed fist! The ref issues that first warning, but Billie fires forearm shots! Billie snapmares Yuka into a half nelson, but the fans rally behind Yuka. Billie traps an arm, and has a modified crossface. Yuka endures, fights up, and fires body shots. Yuka snapmares and rolls to BASEMENT KICK! Yuka runs, SLIDING FOREARM! Cover, TWO! Billie stays in this but Yuka stays on her. Yuka suplexes, but Billie blocks! Billie wrenches out, full nelsons, DRAGON SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Yuka survives, but Billie is back to the half nelson! Yuka has the ROPEBREAK! Billie lets go, but that is Yuka’s second!

Billie says to figure this out faster, ref! She goes to suplex again, but Yuka blocks it! Yuka fires body shots and wrenches out, to ROCK Billie! And SUPERKICK! And then ROLLING ELBOW! Billie wobbles, Yuka brings her around, scoop and SNOWPLOW DRIVER! The fans fire up, Yuka covers, TWO!! Billie survives, but Yuka has a leg! ANKLE LOCK! Billie endures, reaches out, but Yuka steps over! Yuka puts a lot of pressure on the leg, but Billie shakes her head! Billie scratches and claws her way forward, reaches out, and has the ROPEBREAK! Yuka lets go, that is Billie’s second, and we’re past seven minutes in.

Yuka goes up the corner, but Billie hurries to ROCK her with a forearm! And ROCKET LAUNCHER! Billie goes up, up, and SWANTON- FLOP!! Yuka avoids disaster to go up top herself! DIVING BODY PRESS!! Cover, TWO?!? Billie survives and even shocks herself! Yuka hurries to the apron, goes up the ropes, but Billie trips her up! And she reels Yuka in for a suplex! Yuka fights it, but Billie goes again! GHOST BUSTER!! The fans fire up as Billie shrieks, and now she has the leg! Billie pulls on the leg, turns Yuka, but Yuka kicks and kicks and kicks! Billie falls, but she holds onto the foot! She makes it a HEEL HOOK!!

Yuka endures, grabs Billie’s leg, ANKLE LOCK!! The fans fire up while both women endure and put the pressure on the other! They both move around, trying to find a point of leverage! Then they start firing forearms! The fans rally, Billie goes back to the HEEL HOOK!! Yuka grabs the rope, but so does Billie?! That’s a DOUBLE ROPEBREAK, and now no one is safe! We’re at the ten minute mark, one of the longest Pure Rules matches in the Women’s Division to date! Yuka and Billie rise up, the fans rally and duel, and Yuka fires a forearm! Billie fires back! Yuka fires another forearm, but Billie fires back! The fans are getting louder as the shots keep going!

Yuka fire a flurry, but Billie KNEES low! Billie runs, but Yuka DROPKICKS the leg out! Yuka runs, but Billie dodges the lariat! Billie runs back up to BOOT! Yuka rebounds to ROLLING ELBOW! Billie rebounds to HEEL KICK! Yuka ROCKS Billie, ROCKS her again, and then runs up! Billie dodges, table tops Yuka, and high stack, WITH ROPES! BILLIE WINS!!

Winner: Billie Starkz, by pinfall (advances to the finals)

At 10 minutes and 43 seconds, Billie bends the Pure Rules to her advantage and seals the deal! Billie and Deonna will meet in the championship match, but will Billie make history again by becoming the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion? Or will that honor belong to the Virtuosa?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode for ROH, especially as part two of the go-home. Mone of course won her match, but I will say Larkan is good at this goofy, over the top kind of character selling Mone’s offense. Mone could certainly win at Final Battle to keep the Women’s TV title, but it’d be a great start to the larger story of #UltiMone falling apart if Red Velvet took this title back and basically started where she left off before her injury. Mortos VS Komander was great stuff, but of course Sammy had a part to play. All that was a very good brawl to send us to Survival of the Fittest, but I feel like now this means Bandido finds a way to retain. Or Blake Christian wins because he wasn’t anywhere near this.

I figured Castle & The Outrunners, which Castle himself might be trying to name the (Pea)cockrunners, would win their match, but that whole segment was so The Demand could attack again. The go-home math would say Ricochet actually loses, but that can’t be, right? He just got the belt, this is the first defense, and it’s on an ROH PPV, not an AEW event. Though, how hilarious would it be if Ricochet’s arrogance cost him and he got embarrassed like that? Again, Castle is a legit wrestler and hit it big in ROH in the past, this would be a great way to elevate Castle again.

A shame about Aminata, but with her being out of Blood & Guts, it was also pretty clear she wasn’t going to be 100% by the time her tournament match came up. Not to harp on the horribly slow pacing of this tournament by TK, but if they’d gotten things going, maybe we would’ve gotten Aminata VS Deonna before the neck injury. Though, perhaps that injury was inevitable, so it might’ve been a wash. Billie VS Yuka was great stuff, pushing the time limit and the ropebreak limit much further than even some Men’s Pure Rules matches do these days. Great win for Billie with a similar loophole to what we’ve seen Lee Moriarty use, Deonna VS Billie will be great stuff.

My Score: 8.7/10
