In the City that Never Sleeps…

… fortunes lay the foundation to the rise of empires. From Wall Street to Madison Square Garden, legacies have been etched into history. And for the superstars of NXT, in an extraordinary two-week event, the value of gold has never been higher. Wealth is not spread when greed prevails, but if all can believe, prosperity will follow. When gilded treasure is guarded by dark forces, it takes an alliance to secure success. Claiming shiny riches could mean selling your soul, and brokering a deal with the devil. Holding the key to power is precious in NXT, which invites others to covet that power.

History will be made in The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Superstars from four distinguished brands have converged in New York City to achieve fame, fortune, and gold. Which empires will rise at Gold Rush?

AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships: Ethan Page & Chelsea Green w/ Alba Fyre VS Joe Hendry & Thea Hail!

All Ego & The Hot Mess have been on quite the Two Canadian Power Trip these days, but now they’ve run into two very inspirational people. Will the Green Administration still be dripping with gold? Or will we all soon believe in Hendry & Hail?

The introductions are made, the AAA belts are raised, and we see who strikes gold first!

The teams sort out and Thea starts against Chelsea. The fans fire up already as Thea and Chelsea tie up. Chelsea knees low, whips Thea, but Thea wheelbarrows. Chelsea stops the arm-drag, waistlocks, but Thea switches. Chelsea elbows and switches, but Thea bucks the O’Conner. Thea then ducks ‘n’ dodges as the fans rally, and Thea clinches to snapmare and KICK! Thea then makes Chelsea wave her hands from side to side, but Chelsea fights free. Tag to Ethan, so Hendry steps in! The fans cheer as Hendry and Ethan circle, and the fans chant, “We Believe! We Believe!” Ethan is annoyed, but he and Hendry tie up.

Ethan headlocks for a takeover, Hendry headscissors, but Ethan kips free. Roles reverse as Hendry hits a headlock takeover, Ethan headscissors, and then Hendry kips free! The fans cheer and Ethan flounders a bit. Hendry smiles, he and Ethan tie up again, and Hendry wrenches to wristlock. Ethan wrenches back, but Hendry rolls, only for Ethan to wrangle him. Hendry rolls, rolls, and handsprings to WRING Ethan! The fans fire up while Ethan frowns. Hendry and Ethan tie up, Ethan KNEES low and SLAPS Hendry. Ethan talks trash, runs, but Hendry dodges to then RUN Ethan over! Hendry brings Ethan around to suplex, and stall!

The fans cheer as Hendry walks around with Ethan, then SLAMS Ethan down! Cover, Chelsea breaks it! Thea runs in and gets Chelsea’s arm! The fans cheer, Hendry distracts the ref while Chelsea throws Thea at Ethan! Thea gets Ethan with the KIMURA! The fans fire up as Ethan freaks out and goes to a corner! Chelsea CLOBBERS Thea, but Hendry has Ethan! Chelsea bumps Thea off buckles while Hendry UPPERCUTS Ethan, but Ethan turns things around to throw hands! The Canadians coordinate, but Hendry & Hail power out of the stereo bulldogs! Ethan & Chelsea avoid colliding, but then Thea DROPKICKS Chelsea into Ethan!

Chelsea falls in a heap and Ethan asks if she’s okay. Hendry TURNS, Thea uses him to TORNADO DDT Ethan! Then they both TURN! The fans cheer while the Canadians regroup, and NXT goes picture in picture.

Hendry & Hail shake hands, then Hendry storms out to fetch Ethan. They go around the way, Ethan slips into the ring and Hendry follows. Ethan takes a swing, Hendry ducks it to counter punch! Hendry HEADBUTTS and whips Ethan to ropes, but Ethan ducks ‘n’ dodges, only for Hendry to ELBOW him down! Cover, TWO! Ethan stays in this but Hendry stays calm. Hendry drags Ethan up, scoops him, and then shows off his strength by carrying him around again, before the FALL- NO, Ethan lands out! Ethan shoves Hendry to the corner, Hendry ELBOWS back, but then Chelsea anchors Hendry! Ethan DECKS him!

Ethan rains down fists on Hendry, then talks trash and soaks up heat. Hendry rises, Thea seethes, but Ethan brings Hendry around. Ethan ROCKS Hendry, puts him in the corner, then throws more hands. The ref counts, Ethan stops at 4, but Chelsea CHOKES Hendry behind the ref’s back! Thea protests,  the ref keeps her back, and Chelsea gets away with it. Ethan CHOKES Hendry with a boot to the neck, then steps off at the ref’s count. Ethan drags Hendry up again, whips him hard into the corner, then ROCKS him with another haymaker. And another! Ethan snapmares Hendry, covers, TWO! Ethan keeps Hendry down with a chinlock.

Hendry endures and the fans rally up, but Ethan leans on the hold. NXT returns to single picture as Ethan fights up. Hendry fires body shots, UPPERCUTS, but then Chelsea distracts! Alba trips Hendry up for Ethan to ROUNDHOUSE and CONFIDENCE BREAKER! Cover, TWO! Hendry survives, the Canadians protest, but the fans rally up. Ethan facelocks Hendry to grind him down again. Hendry fights up, Ethan leaps on to make it a GUILLOTINE! The fans rally as Hendry still fights forward! Hendry then powers out to suplex Ethan again! The fans rally as Hendry and Ethan stir, and Ethan facelocks again.

Hendry stands, and he counter punches Ethan! And again, and again! Then Hendry LARIATS! And LARIATS! Hendry whips, Ethan reverses, but Hendry ducks ‘n’ dodges to RANA! The fans fire up with Hendry, but Ethan CROSSBODIES! Hendry rolls through with it! The fans fire up as Hendry powers up! Hendry hits the FALL AWAY SLAM! Then a kip up and… TURN! The fans cheer, but Chelsea runs up! Hendry dodges, Thea DUMPS Chelsea out, and the Canadians are on the floor! Thea tags in, goes up top, and she SUPER DUPER TRUST FALLS! Down goes the Green Administration and the fans fire up!

But then Ethan RAMS Hendry into the apron! Chelsea SMACKS Thea off the apron, puts her in, and the fans cheer as she salutes. Chelsea runs up, Thea dodges and ELBOWS! Then EXPLODERS! Thea roars and shakes the ropes, the fans cheer her on, SHOTGUN! Cover, Ethan YANKS Thea away! The fans boo but Ethan grins and says sorry. Theta says “SUCK IT!” SUPERKICK! Ethan flails, Alba gets up, but Thea BLASTS Alba! Chelsea gets the arms! Thea spins that around to the KIMURA!! Chelsea flails, reaches out, but she drops to her knees! Thea puts the pressure on that arm, but then Hendry intercepts Ethan! Only for Ethan to CLOBBER Hendry onto Thea!

Chelsea has Thea for the UNPRETTY-HER!! Cover, the Canadians win!

Winners: Ethan Page & Chelsea Green, by pinfall (still AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions)

It wasn’t a matter of belief but of numbers and underhanded tactics! The Two Canadian Power Trip say adios, but will another duo dethrone them soon enough?

Lola Vice & Jordynne Grace finish watching this.

The Mayor of Vice City says, “Ayayay, I rather would’ve challenged Joe & Thea for the AAA Mixed Tag Titles with Mr. Iguana than Chelsea & Ethan.” Lola adds a little something in Spanish, Jordynne admits she isn’t sure what that last part meant, but she would also rather be here as Knockouts World Champion. Did you see Kelani Jordan crack her upside the head with the title, and then blame everyone else? Oh, Lola saw. And then Kelani just goes off on others, what is her problem? But then Kelani steps in and says, “Wow… Two women I’ve already beaten hanging out together. Cute.” Lola says if Lani has a problem with her, say it to her face.

Lani says wow, great idea, that’s why she’s here. But don’t act all innocent like the victim when you had no problems kicking her out of the locker room! Lola ain’t playing anything. Lani chose TNA over NXT! Jordynne says Lani is only acting like this because she knows this is her last week with that title. Lani scoffs and says jealousy doesn’t look good on Jordynne. But she’ll have time to work on that, because Lani is gonna be champion for a long time. See you next week. Lani leaves, Lola can’t believe Lani’s changed like this. But will The Standout prove no one does it like Lani? Or will she be the one learning how to lose with Grace?

Ava Raine speaks.

“2025 has been an incredible year for NXT. From epic title changes to very dramatic moments, to memories the WWE Universe will never forget. We’re not only three weeks away from our final PLE of the year, NXT Deadline, coming at you live on Saturday, December 6th, from San Antonio, Texas. Now with the return of Deadline also comes the return of one of WWE’s most innovative matches: The Iron Survivor Challenge. A multi-person, 25 minute match where every single second counts. Now in the past, legends have selected competitors for each of the men’s and women’s matches. But this year, I have decided that we’re gonna do things a little differently.

“One individual will select all the competitors for both Iron Survivor Challenges. This person will make his announcement on who he thinks is deserving of an opportunity to compete in this one-of-a-kind match at Deadline. And this person is the Greatest of All Time, John Cena.” WHOA! The Never-Seen Seventeen, the WWE Intercontinental Champion, John Cena makes a final appearance on NXT to handpick the future! Who will impress The GOAT the most to then race against time at Deadline?

Ringside interview with Tavion Heights.

Sarah Schreiber and the Olympian are among the fans as she brings up his breakout 2025, especially now that he’s on his own away from No Quarter Catch Crew, making some big moves ever since. He thanks her for that, and yeah, 2025 has been a wild ride. He has had huge growing pains going from Olympic wrestling to being here in the WWE, but honestly, this is going to be huge for him right now. He has to lock in. The reality of the situation is, not only are they in New York City, but he has no regrets. He was in NQCC, he learned so much, they did more for him than what he learned at the Olympic Games.

Tavion says one thing is for sure, he can’t even believe he’s here right now! But we just heard the news that John Cena will singlehandedly pick the Iron Survivor competitors! That said, Tavion couldn’t imagine if Cena were to pick him. But if he does, then that’s all the approval he’ll need. You’ll see him at Deadline, and you’ll see him become the 2025 Iron Survivor! But then JOSH BRIGGS BOOTS TAVION DOWN! The fans boo as Briggs goes after Tavion, but Tavion fires back! The fans fire up as they brawl back to the ramp and into the concourse! Briggs has the edge, but refs and security rush in! Fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” but will they keep fighting all the way to Deadline?

Sol Ruca prepares backstage.

Zaria is there, and she says she already knows the answer to this, but she’ll ask it one more time: Is Sol sure she wants to do this? Ava said Sol can have the rematch whenever she wants, so- Sol says yes, she’s doing this tonight. She knows Zaria has her best interests in mind, but she needs that title back. The only person who can do that for her is her. Sol heads out, but will she ride a wave of momentum all the way through this Gold Rush? Or will The Glamour bring out her dark side to ensure she shines in the spotlight?

NXT Women’s North American Championship: Blake Monroe VS Sol Ruca w/ Zaria!

NXT returns and Sol makes her entrance, Zaria right by her side. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is truly ready for the moment!

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two stare down. They circle, feel things out, then tie up. Sol puts Blake on ropes, Blake turns it around, but Sol turns it back around. Blake powers up, Sol headlocks and hits the takeover. Sol grinds the hold, Blake fights up, and Blake pulls hair. Sol thrashes the headlock to stop that, but then Blake grabs the bad leg! Blake lifts, Sol sunset flips, TWO! Sol stands, headlocks, but Blake powers up. Blake pulls hair again, puts Sol on ropes, then stops. Blake grabs the bad leg, laughs at Sol, but Sol ENZIGIRIS! Sol runs up at the ropes, and WRECKS Blake with a dropkick! The fans cheer and Sol aims from the apron.

Sol springboards, Blake dodges but Sol rolls through. Blake returns to SLINGBLADE! Blake then scoops and SPIN-OUT SIDEWALK SLAMS! Cover, TWO! Sol is still in this but Blake is right on that leg! Sol turns over, BOOTS Blake away, and then slips around to lift and SPIN-OUT FACEBUSTER! Then SUPERKICK! High stack, TWO! Blake is tougher than that but Sol stays cool. Sol waistlocks, Blake fights the lift, and Blake switches. Sol fights the lift, but Blake THRWOS Sol by her hair! Blake drags Sol, kicks away on that bad leg, but Sol kicks in return! Blake stands on that foot, but Sol still kicks free!

Sol bridges, handsprings, and DROPKICKS! The fans fire up while Blake flounders to a corner. Sol runs in, but Blake sends her into buckles! Sol flops back, Blake drags her to the corner, and she SWINGS the bad leg into the post! The fans duel, the ref reprimands, but Blake SLAMS Sol’s leg again! Blake brings Sol further in, but Sol YANKS Blake into the POST! Sol hops out, runs up, but Blake meets her! DOUBLE LARIATS at the ramp! The fans fire up but Zaria is worried, and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns again and Blake has Sol down with a toehold. Sol endures, the fans rally up, and Zaria coaches Sol. Sol fires forearms but Blake hits back. Blake puts more pressure on the leg, then drags her from the ropes. Sol still endures, then sits up to clamp on a chinlock of her own! Blake flails, pushes back to a cover, TWO! Both women stand, but then Sol EDDY GORDO KICKS! Sol blocks a shot, ROCKS Blake, and again! Sol mule kicks, then CLUBS Blake, CHOPS Blake, but Blake BOOTS back! Blake stomps Sol down, then drags Sol around. Blake stands on the bad leg while she puts on a chinlock to bend Sol!

Sol endures, snapmares free, and then UPPERCUTS! And UPPERCUTS! The fans rally, Sol whips Blake to a corner, then GERMAN SUPLEXES on the rebound! The fans fire up and Sol goes up the corner! Blake stands, into the MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up as Sol kips up on one leg! Sol aims, runs up, KNEE! Cover, TWO!! Blake survives and Sol is frustrated, but Zaria and the fans rally behind Sol. Sol goes up the corner, but Blake YANKS her down! Blake storms up to HEADBUTT! Sol SUPERKICKS in return! Both women are down and the fans fire up! Blake bails out while the fans cheer on “NXT! NXT!”

Sol goes to the apron, slaps the bad leg into working, and she goes up the corner! MOONSAULT PRESS on Blake! Blake is down in a heap, Sol hobbles on the bad leg, and the fans are going nuts! Sol drags Blake up, puts her in the ring, and she storms up again. Sol fireman’s carries, but Blake slips free! CHOP BLOCK! Sol writhes, but Blake grabs the bad leg! HALF CRAB! The fans boo but Blake drags Sol from the ropes! Blake sits deep on the hold, then pries at the brace! Blake pulls that bad leg but Zaria coaches Sol! Blake lets go in frustration, but she stomps and CLUBS away on the leg! The fans boo as Blake has exposed the damaged knee!

The ref reprimands but Blake CLUBS away on Sol’s leg and back! This isn’t really illegal, it’s just not right! Blake THROWS the knee brace to the stage! The fans boo as Blake storms up, but Sol rolls her up! TWO!! Blake escapes, Sol SUP- NO, the bad leg is her plant leg! Sol falls, Blake clamps right on! CALF KILLER!! Zaria is freaking out as Sol flails, and Zaria grabs a towel?!? The fans say don’t do it, Sol says don’t do it, but Zaria pleads with Sol! Sol reaches for the ropes, but Blake pulls that leg back! ZARIA THROWS IN THE TOWEL!! BLAKE WINS!!

Winner: Blake Monroe, by surrender (still NXT Women’s North American Champion)

The fans don’t like it, but Zaria was thinking about her friend’s livelihood. Sol can’t win the title if she doesn’t have a leg to stand on, but will she ever get back to this title now? Will anyone ever be able to stop the Woman From Hell?

The Fatal Influence talks backstage.

Jacy Jayne prepares for the main event while Fallon says she can still hear the sounds of Lainey Reid slapping Kendal Grey across the face. They all have a good laugh, and Lainey says they all gotta do what they gotta do to get an opportunity around here. Besides, her girls are each having title matches, so if she had to pop Kendal across the mouth to get one, so be it. Jacy’s been on the receiving end of that one. Lainey apologizes for the past, but Jacy says it’s why Lainey is Fatal Influence. Gold Rush will be their event, and it starts with Jacy taking back the NXT Women’s Championship from Tatum.

Fallon says exactly! They all know Halloween Havoc was a fluke! Jacy says, “Don’t even remind me.” Tonight, Jacy. Next week, Fallon wins the Speed Women’s Championship and Lainey wins the Evolve Women’s Championship. Then the Fatal Influence walks out of New York draped in gold. They’re loving the mere idea of it, but will any of them get a title tonight? Or will Tatum make sure the Influence ends before it begins?

Ricky Saints is here!

The fans cheer as The Absolute NXT Champion heads to the ring, strutting in a nice suit, then he grabs the mic. But before he can speak, OBA FEMI is here! The fans fire up even more for The Ruler, the former NXT Champion, and the man who shocked us all by first returning last week at the very end of the show! Oba now struts his way to the ring, and he also grabs a mic. Saints says, “Incredible. Wow. Welcome back, Oba. Y’know, I knew sooner or later that you were gonna show back up, so no, it wasn’t a surprise to me when you popped up, and you and your dark shadow came after the fact that I won the Last Man Standing.

“But you know what was a surprise to everyone? When I beat you at No Mercy and I took the NXT title from you.” The fans are torn, but Saints says, “But it wasn’t a shock to me, because hey, I’m Ricky Saints.” The fans are again torn, but Saints says even beyond all that, Oba thought he was just gonna steamroll Saints and make him another footnote? No, Saints peeked months ago that this title was wearing Oba out, grinding him down, so Saints took his shot and he won. Fans are again torn, but Saints says Oba’s biggest mistake was underestimating Ricky Saints. And what Saints also realized was, people like Oba don’t know how to handle losing.

Oba went off to Nigeria, recollected himself, and while he was gone, Saints was holding it down. He was defending NXT from TNA! He was whooping dat Trick all around here! And guess what? The train kept rolling, partner. But Saint sis glad Oba is back, as are the people, but don’t get it twisted into thinking that Oba will just take the title back. Oba finally speaks, “Ricky, you are the exact same as I left you. You haven’t changed at all. The same bravado, the same flamboyance, the same little man. But that’s good, though, that is good, because I was hoping to beat the exact same version of you that got the better of me.”

Oba says that is why he took his time in coming back. He didn’t want to get himself involved in more of that NXT VS TNA nonsense. He didn’t want to come back here to get involved with Ricky and Trick trying to win NXT’s Best Dressed. No, no, no. The fans cheer as Ricky styles and profiles in his suit. Oba says no, that stuff, that nonsense, is BENEATH him! So he went home, he trained, he went back to the Motherland, to the soil that made him, to create the version of himself that Ricky cannot beat! And now he is here! Fair play to Ricky, he had his time in the sun.

But now that sun is setting on the Absolute, and Oba will cast the shadow! Oba will take it all away! Oba will be the one to destroy Ricky Saints! Because The Ruler is back! The Destroyer is back! The Bringer of War is back! YOUR DADDY is home! The fans fire up for that! Ricky says if Oba wants his rematch at Deadline, then he’s got it! The fans cheer that, too! But then wait, Trick Williams is here! The fans chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” as he now struts his way out here and says maybe Ricky can’t hear that good. But like he’s been saying for the last couple of months, it ain’t over ’til Trick wins HIS NXT Championship back.

But then MYLES BORNE CHAIR SHOTS TRICK! The fans fire up as Borne stands over Trick, takes his mic, and says, “I heard you, Trick! You’re done! Payback is a b*tch!” Borne then tells Oba and Ricky that we are looking at the next Men’s Iron Survivor winner. And he’ll be seeing one of them at New Year’s Evil! The fans like how the roadmap of the future is unfolding, but will Myles prove he is born for this? Or will he soon regret that he whooped dat Trick?

Ava Raine reprimands Myles Borne backstage.

She tells him she expected better of him, so what the hell was he doing? He says that he promised not to get involved last week, and he didn’t. Yeah, but that doesn’t mean he could get involved this week! Then he went and attacked Trick! Oh, so Trick can hit him with a chair but Myles just has to forget about it? No, that’s not what she means. They talked about this, but Myles clearly doesn’t listen. Myles jokingly says yeah, clearly. Ava says this is not how they do things around here! Wait, she has a call. She asks the other person what they want, seems it is important, so she tells Myles if he wants to settle things with Trick, they can go 1v1 next week! Ava has to handle business.

And that business is that Tavion and Briggs are still brawling! They’ve moved to the tech area, Tavion RAMS Briggs into a road case, but Briggs THROWS Tavion into the other! Briggs tries to use his chain but Tavion ROCKS him first! And SMACKS him off another road case, before THROWING him into it! But Briggs JAMS Tavion with a chair! And SMACKS him! And then CHOKE SLAMS him through a table! The refs rush in again, but will nothing end until someone is broken?

NXT Tag Team Championships: Osiris Griffin & Dion Lennox w/ DarkState VS Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater!

It took all of DarkState to take down Matt & Jeff Hardy, but they don’t care about Broken Rules, only about victory. Will they prove that no matter where they are and no matter who they face, #NoOneIsSafe? Or can the Young OG & Youngest In Charge become the youngest champions yet?

The introductions are made, the tag titles are raised, and we see who makes it big in the Big Apple!

The teams sort out and DarkState just rushes the Youngest! The Youngest dodge to DOUBLE SUPERKICK! The fans fire up as Dion falls, then the DOUBLE SUPERKICKS take Osiris out! Osiris falls out of the ring, Je’Von builds speed, and Je’Von FLIES onto Osiris, Cutler & Saquon! The fans fire up as then Leon DROPKICKS Dion! Cover, TWO! Dion survives but Leon calls to Je’Von. The fans rally as Leon drags Dion up and over, but Osiris YANKS Je’Von from the apron! Dion RAMS Leon into the DarkState corner, fires off shots, then bumps him off buckles. Tag to Osiris, feed and scoop for the POWERSLAM! Cover, but Je’Von DOUBLE STOMPS Osiris!

The fans fire up but then Dion storms in and THROWS Je’Von out! Osiris THROWS Leon into the buckles, tags Dion, and Osiris sends Dion in, only for Leon to go up and over! Leon then dodges Osiris, hot tag to Je’Von! ROUNDHOUSE for Dion, and Je’Von DUMPS Osiris out! SUPERKICK for Osiris, HOTSHOT for Dion! Je’Von LEAPS over Osiris’ lariat to land safe on the desk! Je’Von SUPERKICKS Osiris, SMACKS him off the steel steps, then gets in the ring! Je’Von ducks ‘n’ dodges Dion to RANA him away! The fans fire up and Je’Von DROPKICKS Dion down! Cover, TWO! The fans rally as Je’Von drags Dion up.

Je’Von whips Dion to the corner, Dion reverses, but Leon tags in! Je’Von sidesteps, Leon GAMANGIRIS, and the fans rally as Leon gives Je’Von the boost, BOUNCY~ RANA! The fans fire up again as Dion bails out! Osiris returns, the Youngest dodge to DOUBLE DORPKICK! Osiris tumbles out, and now the Youngest DOUBLE PLANCHA! ALL of DarkState is down again and the fans are thunderous! Je’Von & Leon stand tall as NXT goes to break.

NXT returns and the fans rally as Je’Von endures a chinlock. Osiris leans on the hold but Je’Von fights up. Osiris CLUBS Je’Von, BLASTS Leon, and tags Dion. The fans boo as DarkState set Je’Von up, SURFBOARD STOMP DDT COMBO!! Cover, TWO!! Je’Von survives and the fans rally but Dion clamps on with a neck wrench. Je’Von endures again and fights around. The fans rally as Je’Von rises, fires body shots, and then ROCKS Dion! Dion wobbles, but he reels Je’Von back in! Dion back suplexes, but Je’Von lands out! SUPERKICK for Dion! SMACK for Osiris! BOOT for Dion! Je’Von falls over and the fans rally even harder!

Je’Von crawls, crawls, but so does Dion! Hot tags to Osiris and Leon! Leon rallies on DarkState with DROPKICK after DROPKICK! Forearm SMASH for Osiris in the corner! Leon fires fast hands on Osiris but Dion storms up. Leon kicks, Dion blocks, and Dion ducks the enzigiri, but not the REWIND HEEL KCIK! The fans fire up as Leon hurries up but Osiris BODY BLOWS! Osiris whips, Leon handsprings and BACK ELBOWS! The fans fire up with Leon as he goes up, out, and avoids Dion to then BOOT him down! Leon goes up the corner now, aims and CROSSBODIES! Cover, TWO! Osiris survives for DarkState but the fans rally for The Youngest.

Leon drags Osiris up, Osiris SHOVES him away, but Je’Von tags in. Leon BOOTS Osiris, Je’Von runs, handspring for the RED DOT GAMANGIRI! Dion scoops Je’Von, Je’Von slips free, feed to Leon’s UTOPIA SPIN-OUT BOMB! The fans fire up again as The Youngest fire themselves up! Je’Von & Leon set up, Leon builds speed corner to corner and Je’Von holds the ropes down! Leon FLIES over the corner and onto DarkState! The fans are thunderous as Leon then hurries to get Osiris up and in! Je’Von waits, runs up, O G CUTTER! Je’Von isn’t done there, he goes to the corner! Saquon slithers up but Je’Von BOOTS him down!

Je’Von climbs, and FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!! Cover, TWO!!! Osiris survives and the fans can’t believe it! The fans blame the ref but Osiris is just that tough! Je’Von tags Leon, they both go up corners, but Dion SHOVES Je’Von down! The fans boo, Osiris runs up but Leon leaps over! Leon sees Saquon on the apron and HANDSPRINGS him down! But Osiris CLOBBERS Leon! Tag to Dion, the fans boo, but they get Leon up for the DOUBLE POWERBOMB!! Cover, Je’Von springboards, but Cutler drags Dion out of the way! The SPLASH hits Leon!! Je’Von is stunned, Dion TOSSES Je’Von out! Tag back to Osiris!

Osiris Electric Chair Lifts Leon, Dion goes up, DARKSTATE DOOMSDAY!! Cover, DARKSTATE WINS!

Winners: DarkState, by pinfall (still NXT Tag Team Champions)

Once again, numbers win over heart and ability! DarkState is able to escape from New York as champions, but will there ever be a team that can bring them all down?

Wren Sinclair talks with Kendal Grey backstage.

Wren says last week was crazy with how Lainey just up and slapped Kendal like that. Kendal says yeah, she was there. Wren apologizes and says she should’ve stepped in sooner, but she just thought Kendal could handle Lainey. Kendal says yeah, she got her shots in. But next week, Jacy & Fallon won’t be able to pull Kendal off of Lainey. Gold Rush is the biggest stage the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship has ever been on, and trust her when she says she’s locked in! Wren says heck yeah she is! Lainey Wainey is about to take an all-expenses-paid trip to the Grey Area! Damn right she is!

And uh, has Wren been watching TNA? Who would’ve thought Charlie Dempsey, Stacks, and a bunch of others from NXT would crash TNA like that! Wren says yeah, she can’t believe Charles didn’t tell her he was back in the States. She reached out but he hasn’t responded. He’s like ghosting her or something. Isn’t that kinda weird? Well, Charles is a complicated man, but don’t worry. Just focus on #WrenQCC and that title match. They head out, but will Grey still be golden after Gold Rush? And just what is going on with those NXT rogues running roughshod over TNA? What kind of impact are they trying to make?

Shiloh Hill speaks.

He finishes typing up some computer code before introducing himself. “I’m the proud winner of Season Two of WWE LFG, and I like to download you some information on myself before I get started in NXT. A lot of people think I’m this big time jock because I played college football, but other people think I’m this big time nerd because I played at Stanford and I like figuring out how things work. Ironically, though, school was never my thing. I remember when I was little, every time I would start to like it, my parents would come wake me up in the middle of the night and they’d tell me, ‘The fog was coming’ and we’d have to move again.

“I think in third grade, I went to something like 32 days in a year, so I got in trouble with the state. School was just so boring. So, every morning, me and my sisters would wait for the bus to come, and then we’d just run into the woods and play all day. It was fantastic. But I know what you’re probably thinking. ‘Shiloh, if you hated school so much, how’d you wind up at Stanford?’ Well, my freshman year, I actually tested out all the classes that my high school had to offer, and so I took online classes instead. Now I didn’t tell anyone, but they were actually super easy, and so I finished them in like the first week, and I got to focus on the fun stuff.

“I’m talking quantum mechanics, the dark web, conspiracy theories, it was really cool. But y’know what was really, really, really, really, really cool? Playing football! I, loved, hitting people! I remember my first ever practice, I got kicked out for suplexing our starting Tight End. And my coach was so pissed, but it didn’t matter, because by the end of the year, I had 61 offers to play Outside Linebacker, and I wound up at Stanford. I can’t even tell you how good it feels to hear a man’s air leave his lungs when I hit him in the diaphragm. That’s what I call feeling the thunder. Anyways, check back soon for more.”

Shiloh is sounding more like a Silent Hill, but will he bring that thunder to NXT and change the entire landscape?

#ZaRuca regroups backstage.

Sol insists that she had it all handled! She was going to beat Blake and take back her title! Zaria gets Sol is upset, but sorry, Sol did NOT have it! Then why did Zaria throw in the towel? Because from where Zaria was standing, Blake had Sol stuck in that submission hold, Sol wasn’t able to reach the ropes, and she wasn’t going to tap out. Yeah! So why did Zaria throw in the towel!? Because Zaria wasn’t going to stand by and watch Blake snap Sol’s leg in half! Zaria won’t watch Sol reinjure herself, be on the shelf for another year, all over her stupid pride! Sol gets mad now and she stands up to stare Zaria down.

Zaria says Sol’s leg had barely healed, she’s barely cleared, and yet she’s the bad guy for caring about Sol? Sol says her pride is what made her double champion. Zaria says Sol will be champion again, but not if she’s injured! Zaria says let’s just forget about it for now, and focus on Zaria winning the Speed title. Okay? Sol says fine, then storms off. Sol’s leg is still in one piece, but is the friendship about to break down?

NXT Women’s Championship: Tatum Paxley w/ The Culling VS Jacy Jayne w/ The Fatal Influence!

Despite all the advise and cautioning from The Culling, #TuesdayAddams is following Frank Sinatra because she wants to do it her way. Will Tatum come to regret it when she’s facing the Toxic Rockstar one more time? Or will NXT be safe from the Fatal Influence for one more night?

NXT returns as The Culling makes their entrance, following Tatum’s lead. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who’s the real “fluke” around here!

The bell rings and the fans are strongly behind “Tatum Tuesday!” Tatum and Jacy circle, feel things out, and tie up collar ‘n’ elbow. They go around, Tatum has the cording hold, and she keeps Jacy from the ropes. They roll, Tatum cranks the arm, but Jacy endures. Jacy fights up, powers Tatum to the ropes, and the ref counts. Jacy CHOPS Tatum, and tells “Tater” that she’ll be a two-time champion! Tatum frowns and CHOPS in return! The fans fire up as the CHOPS go back and forth! Tatum then dodges one to headlock, but Jacy powers up and out. Tatum hurdles over the dropdown, and even blocks the drop toehold!

Jacy SWEEPS the arms, but Tatum avoids the lateral press to get Jacy’s arm and flip her over. Jacy arm-drags, Tatum sidesteps, but Jacy arm-drags to a lateral press, TWO! Ghost pin, TWO! Both women stand, Tatum blocks a boot! Jacy wants Tatum to calm down, then she ducks the lariat! Jacy returns to RANA! Tatum tumbles to the corner, the fans boo as Jacy waves. Jacy runs up, Tatum dodges, and then SOBAT! Jacy sputters, Tatum runs up, CROSSBODY! Tatum then whips Jacy corner to corner, runs in, but the Influence gets Jacy outta there! The fans boo, the ref warns Lainey & Fallon, but then Tatum BLASTS Jacy down!

Jacy falls onto The Influence and the fans cheer! Then Tatum goes up, out, and ASAI MOONSAULTS! Down goes the Influence, the fans and The Culling are fired up, and NXT goes picture in picture!

Izzi talks some smack on The Influence while they flounder about, and Tatum revels in the cheers. Tatum then fetches Jacy up and into the ring, but Jacy distracts the ref so Fallon can grab at Tatum! Tatum kicks Fallon away, but then Jacy DECKS Tatum! Tatum tumbles, Jacy CANNONBALLS to the floor! The Influence is fired up now but the fans give thumbs down. Jacy blows a kiss to Booker T before she RAMS Tatum into the apron! Jacy puts Tatum in the ring, then SENTONS! Cover, TWO! Tatum toughs it out but Jacy drags her right back up. Jacy whips Tatum to the corner, runs in and BACK BODY BLOCKS!

Jacy then stomps a mudhole into Tatum, but stops as the ref counts4. Jacy JUMP STOMPS Tatum down, then drags her around. Jacy snap suplexes, covers, TWO! Tatum stays in this but Jacy stays on her with KNEES to the back again and again! Jacy then wraps on body scissors and squeezes! Tatum endures, pries at the hold, then fires elbows! Jacy holds on, even adding a chinlock, but Tatum pries at Jacy’s hands. They teeter-totter, Tatum opens the chinlock, then goes after the legs! Jacy turns Tatum over for a GEDO CLUTCH, TWO! Tatum is still in the match but also still in the leg scissors as NXT returns to single picture.

Tatum pushes back to a cover, TWO, and Jacy lets Tatum go. The fans rally as Tatum ROCKS Jacy! And ROCKS her again! And again! Jacy blocks a shot to KNEE SMASH and LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Tatum survives again and Jacy snarls while Fatal Influence grows frustrated. Tatum goes to a corner, Jacy runs in, but Tatum BOOTS her away! Tatum then goes up, up, but Jacy GAMANGIRIS! Jacy goes up after Tatum, the fans rally, and Jacy goes to the very top! SUPER STEINER! Tatum tumbles Jacy runs up, but into a SUPERKICK! Both women are down and everyone but Fatal Influence thinks “This is Awesome!”

The Culling coaches Tatum while The Influence shout to Jacy. Both Tatum and Jacy stir, crawl, and head to center. Jacy fires a forearm, Tatum kicks low, then the forearms go back and forth! Tatum CHOPS! Jacy ROCKS! Tatum kicks! And ROCKS! And ROCKS again! Tatum whips then CLOBBERS Jacy! And CLOBBERS her again! Then Tatum wrenches to ROUNDHOUSE and GERMAN SUPELX! Jacy tumbles to ropes, the fans fire up with Tatum, and Tatum runs up, only to be put on the apron! Tatum avoids the shoulder thrust to then step-up ENZIGIRI! Jacy staggers back, Tatum rushes back in, and she FRONT FLIP LEG DROPS! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally and Jacy sputters while she goes to ropes. Tatum storms over, goes to whip, but Jacy holds onto the ropes to block! The ref reprimands them both, Jacy blocks a kick again and spins Tatum. Jacy waistlocks but Tatum fights the lift. Tatum switches, Jacy fights the lift, and Jacy RAMS Tatum into the corner! Jacy is free, then runs corner to corner, but Tatum dodges! Jacy ELBOWS Tatum away, then goes up for DEADLY NIGHTSHADE! Jacy says not tonight! CANNONBALL! Jacy pushes Tatum to the drop zone, goes up, but Tatum STEP-UP ENZIGIRIS again! The Culling cheers Tatum on as she goes up top!

Tatum brings Jacy in, for MISS LERAE’S WILD RIDE?!? Tatum then rolls through, FISHERMAN SPINEBUSTER!! Cover, TWO!! Jacy survives and The Influence fires up! Niko argues with the re, and that lets Izzi sneak a chair out!? Izzi wants Tatum to become the Chair Woman! BUt then Tatum says NO! She’s still doing this her way! But Jacy rolls Tatum up! TWO!!! Tatum escapes, and KNEE SMASHES Jacy! But Jacy SUPERKICKS! Tatum avoids Lainey’s cheap shot and WRECKS her with a dropkick! But Jacy hurries to the apron! PENALTY KICK! Jacy clutches her own foot, she might’ve kicked a little too hard!

Jacy hurries to get Tatum back in and then runs up! ROLLING ENCORE!!! Cover, TWO?!!? Tatum survives and shocks everyone, especially Jacy! Izzi might be a close second, though. Jacy calls to her girls to do something, and Lainey grabs the belt! Lainey tries to sneak it to the ring, but Izzi DECKS her! The fans fire up as now IZZI slides the belt into the ring for Tatum! Fallon distracts the ref, Tatum is reluctant, but Jacy snatches the belt right up! The ref STOPS Jacy! The fans cheer, Tatum O’Conner Rolls! TWO!! Tatum tumbles all the way out! Jacy and the ref fight over the belt, and now Spears & Niko stand in Tatum’s way?!

The fans don’t like this, and Izzi BOOTS Tatum down!!! The fans boo as The Culling has now just purged themselves of Tatum! ROLLING ENCORE!!! Cover, JACY WINS!!!

Winner: Jacy Jayne, by pinfall (NEW NXT Women’s Champion)

The fans are horrified that The Culling would betray Tatum like this! NXT is back under The Influence with Jacy back on top, but will we learn #WhyIzziWhy? Or will she just say It Iz What It Iz?

My Thoughts:

A great start to Gold Rush this year, even with the results going the way they did. I should’ve figured DarkState would retain the titles given they always have the numbers. Feels like it’ll take a Triple Threat or more to get the belts off them, but I feel like there should also be attempts at them going for the other belts. Not sure it’ll be the North American Championship, though, that’s still on Ethan Page, and he’s on the Two Canadian Power Trip with Chelsea Green. Great match with Joe & Thea but again, Heels using Heel tactics, they won. The promo from Lola, Jordynne and Kelani clearly foreshadows Ethan & Chelsea VS Lola & Iguana, and maybe Lola & Iguana beat them with help from La Yesca.

Great stuff in the ZaRuca story, and throwing in the towel was a very clever way to keep Sol strong even though she wasn’t going to win. Hearkens back to Tyler Bate & Trent Seven falling apart over throwing in the towel against Walter/Gunther in NXT UK. I just hope Sol doesn’t cost Zaria the Speed title against Fallon, we can’t have Fatal Influence getting two of the three titles they’re going for. And I say that because, as I said last week, Lainey’s not gonna “go down” to Evolve, and then there’s also the stories they’re building on Evolve that they (hopefully) want to keep on track.

To that point, I did not think Izzi was going to turn on Tatum before she lost the title. Izzi got The Culling to follow her lead again and now they’re the reason Tatum lost the title. I wonder if we get a Mixed Six where, say, Hank ‘n’ Tank pick Tatum up as real friends would, and they take the fight to The Culling. As for Jacy, no idea who challenges her, I thought Tatum was gonna go for a longer stretch. Well, alright, whoever is in Iron Survivor is clearly next, so there are a lot of variables to that, can’t wait to see it. Speaking of, Ava naming John Cena as the one and only Iron Survivor delegate was rather surprising, I thought it was going to be a series of qualifiers.

But I suppose with only so much time left, Cena choosing his top five from each division still works. Everyone chosen gets to say they got the John Cena seal of approval as they fight for those title opportunities. Decent promo from Tavion in response to that news, but it seemed more like he was just trying to fill time before the brawl. Tavion VS Briggs is definitely happening again, that’ll be good stuff. Great promo from Ricky and Oba to set up their title rematch for Deadline. And nice stuff with Trick interrupting only to get attacked by Myles Borne. Trick VS Myles will be great stuff, and can definitely kayfabe influence the Iron Survivor Challenger decisions.

My Score: 8.8/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Nick Aldis speaks.

“As you know, Drew McIntyre was recently suspended from SmackDown. And despite what Drew might think, since that time, I’ve been working tirelessly to reinstate him and bring him back where he belongs. That’s become increasingly difficult this week, given that Drew won’t return my calls, has not returned emails, has not returned text messages. So he’s left me no choice but to use this platform to address him directly, and say Drew, consider this an official invitation to come here tonight so that we can discuss a resolution together to bring you back to SmackDown.”

The General Manager wants the Scottish Terminator to return, so long as Drew is willing to play by the rules. What will Drew’s response be?

Cody Rhodes arrives backstage.

The American Nightmare then crosses paths with Aldis. Cody asks if Drew is here tonight. Aldis says no, he is not. He has instead issued a legal letter via his attorneys, claiming this is not a “safe work environment.” He refuses to come in until the issue is resolved. Aldis will personally go to Drew’s house this weekend to get this taken care of. Cody looks the document over, crumples it up, and throws it away. Cody storms to gorilla now, makes his entrance, and the fans in Wilkes-Barre fire up! They sing along with Kingdom, “WHOA~ OH~!” Cody gets his pyro, gets the fans even more fired up, and he high-fives the front row as he goes down the ramp.

Cody goes to the ring, we get the second “WHOA~ OH~!” and pyro, then Cody gets the mic. The fans cheer Cody on while the music dies down. Cody asks, “Wilkes-Barre, PA…! Whaddya wanna talk about? Let’s talk about Drew McIntyre!” The fans boo that name, but Cody says, “Drew McIntyre has said that this, this with all of you, is an unsafe work environment. Nearly snatched him bald, and now this is an unsafe work environment. There’s a reason Drew’s not getting up at 5AM for a press junket, there’s a reason Drew’s kicking officials, there’s a reason Drew’s not mingling with each and every one of you.

“And those reasons are the same reasons for him not being WWE Champion: Drew McIntyre is only half in, and that’s why I don’t sweat you, Drew McIntyre!” The fans cheer that, and Cody says in fact, if he was the boss, he’d FIRE Drew! But he’s not the boss, so he can’t do that. But what Cody can do is whip Drew’s ass! The fans cheer that! But then OBA FEMI is here!? The Ruler was going to meet Cody Rhodes in Washington, DC, but it seems he wants to be here in Wilkes-Barre tonight! The fans cheer as the TWO-TIME NXT Champion steps up to the Undisputed WWE Champion, and stares him right in the face!

The fans fire up for the stare down, and Cody takes a step back so that he can fetch a mic for Oba. The fans cheer for “O~BA! HOOT!” Oba says Cody is all fired up, he loves the passion, but he is afraid Cody is worried about the wrong man. Cody is worried about Drew, but Drew is not here. But the NXT Champoin is in the building tonight! The fans cheer that! So allow Oba to formally introduce himself to the WWE Universe: He is Oba Femi, The Ruler, The Destroyer, the Bringer of War, the mountain you cannot climb and you cannot conquer! And he is also the man Cody will face on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The fans cheer again, and Oba says in the spirit of SNME, it has been advertised as The Present VS The Future. Everyone is acting like the future is this distance thing so far away, but that is where Oba disagrees. Oba is here, knocking on Cody’s door, telling him that the future is now, is here, and it is OBA FEMI! So in the spirit of hustle, loyalty and respect… Oba says Cody’s time is up, and Oba’s time is now! The fans cheer, and Cody nods. That’s a good John Cena quote. Glad Cena is someone Oba looks up to, they share that. But the man right here is the man who beat Cena for the WWE Championship.

Cody goes to leave, but Oba stops him. Oba raises his title high, Cody does the same. The fans cheer as we’re just 24 hours away from this epic showdown. Drew or no Drew, will Cody be able to focus on his future? Or will all that awaits him be a Fall From Grace?

Ilja Dragunov heads to gorilla.

On the way, Fraxiom is there and they wanna let him know, if DIY tries anything out there, they’ll be there to kick DIY’s teeth down their throats! Axiom has Frazer cool down, and says they’re just watching. If anything happens, they will be there to help. Ilja says he appreciates that, but no, he promised to carry the legacy of the US Championship with honor. It is the painful way, but it is the honest way. Ciampa has spit on everything this title stands for the last few weeks, so Ilja will put him- No, he will PUNCH Ciampa in his place! Because the Greatest Of All Time, John Cena himself, started the tradition of the Open Challenge.

Cena never backed down from a bully, Cena never backed down from a fight, so neither will Ilja! Tonight, Ilja will teach that jackass that if he plays with a Mad Dragon, he will burn! Pain shall entertain! Fraxiom likes that, and they wish him luck. The Czar is ready for another war, but will he break the Blackheart of the Sicilian Psycho? Or will Ciampa make sure no one will survive?

WWE United States Championship: Ilja Dragunov VS Tommaso Ciampa!

SmackDown returns as Ilja makes his entrance. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is truly intense!

The bell rings, the two tie up, and they go around. Ciampa pulls hair, puts Ilja in a corner, but CHOPS and ROCKS him as the ref counts! And CHOPS again! Ilja KNEES low, CHOPS again, then UPPERCUTS! And CHOPS! Ciampa headlocks, Ilja powers up and out, but Ciampa ROCKS Ilija! Ilja ROCKS Ciampa! And repeat! Ilja rebounds to CHOP, but Ciampa CHOPS back! The CHOPS and SLAPS go back and forth and the fans fire up! Ilja JUMP KICKS! Down goes Ciampa and the fans fire up again! Ciampa checks his teeth while Ilja paces. Ilja drags Ciampa up, CHOPS him, and CHOPS him again! Ciampa kicks low, CHOPS then CHOPS, but Ilja CHOPS!

Ilja spins to CHOP the legs out, then he winds up again! But Ciampa DROPKICKS Ilja’s leg! And KNEES him down! Cover, TWO! Ilja is still in this but Ciampa stomps the legs. Ciampa stands Ilja up, whips, but Ilja reverses. Ilja runs up, KNEES Ciampa low, then goes side to side to BOOT WASH! Ciampa dangles out of the ring, the fans fire up, and Ilja stands Ciampa up, just to BOOT him to the floor! Ilja then goes out the side, builds speed, but Ciampa just sidesteps! Ilja runs right into steel steps! Ciampa hauls Ilja up, and suplexes him into the steps! Ilja writhes, Ciampa pats himself on the back quite literally, and SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns and Ilja fights a waistlock. Ilja elbows away until he’s free, but Ciampa whips! Ilja CONSTANT- NO, the leg gives out! Ciampa KICKS Ilja, but Ilja BOOTS in return! Ciampa KNEES Ilja again, but Ilja springs up to ENZIGIRI! Both men are down but the fans fire up! Ilja snarls as he rises again, and he drags Ciampa around. Ilja CHOPS, CHOPS, and CHOPS, then he SLAPS! And CHOPS! Ilja KNEES Ciampa now, but a bit double-edged given the damage done. But Ilja still SLAPS Ciampa again! And KNEES him again! And GERMAN SUPLEXES! Ilja holds onto Ciampa and the fans fire up!

The fans want to see it, “One More Time! One More TIme!” Ilja GERMAN SUPLEXES! Ilja holds on, shakes his bad leg out, and he eggs on “Jackass” Ciampa! Ciampa CLUBS at the leg but Ilja shifts to rain HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Then he pump handles, but the leg won’t let him lift! Ciampa has the bad leg, Ilja and Ciampa SLAP and SLAP and SLAP! Ilja ROCKS Ciampa, and then BACK SUPLEX SLAMS Ciampa! Cover, TWO!! Ciampa survives, Ilja is stunned, but the fans fire up again! Ilja goes to a corner, climbs up, but Ciampa CHOPS him first! Ilja SLAPS back! Ciampa BOOTS the bad leg! Ilja falls to the apron!

The fans rally, Ciampa steps out, and he fireman’s carries Ilja. AIR RAID CRASH on the apron! Cover, TWO!!! Ilja survives and Ciampa is furious! But Ciampa also hurries to get Ilja back up top! Ciampa climbs, but Ilja HEADBUTTS again and again! Ciampa falls back, Ilja rises up, and Ilja COAST2COAST MISSILE DROPKICKS! Both men are down and Ilja clutches the bad leg! The fans rally even harder and SmackDown goes picture in picture.

Ilja drags himself up with the ropes, and he eggs Ciampa on. Ciampa reaches out but Ilja stands him up. Ilja CHOPS Ciampa, CHOPS him down, then stalks him to a corner. Ciampa goes to the apron, btu Ilja CLUBS and HAMMERS away! The ref counts, Ilja stops, and Ilja drags himself back up. Ilja climbs the corner, drags Ciampa up, and he deadlifts Ciampa! But Ciampa fights the rest of the lift! Ciampa SHOVES Ilja down, and Ilja again clutches the leg. Ciampa hurries in, he gest the leg for the HALF CRAB! Ilja endures, reaches out, but Ciampa pulls on the leg! Ilja fights to turn, and he kicks at Ciampa!

Ciampa powers Ilja back over for the HALF CRAB! Ilja endures, and bites his own hand to ignore the leg! Ilja CHOPS at Ciampa’s legs, then turns back over to KICK free! Ilja BOOTS Ciampa against the ropes! Ilja reels Ciampa in, pump handle and SUPLEX! Both men are down again, but Ilja reaches out for Ciampa. Ciampa reaches out for ropes and rolls away. Both men rise up, and Ilja CHOPS! Ciampa CHOPS! Ilja snarls and HEADBUTTS Ciampa! Ciampa ROCKS Ilja! Ilja SLAPS Ciampa, throws off his wristbands, and fires CHOP after CHOP, and MACHINEGUN CHOPS in the corner! Ilja stops from exhaustion while SmackDown returns to single picture.

Ilja hoists Ciampa up top, but Ciampa SLAPS! Ilja says it is payback time, and he SLAPS back! They SLAP, Ilja SLAPS and SLAPS, but Ciampa shoves him! Ciampa eggs him on, and Ilja SLAPS, SLAPS, SLAPS! Then CHOPS! Ciampa slumps back against the post! Ilja drags himself up the corner to then roar! The fans fire up, and Ilja brings Ciampa back up. But Ciampa CLUBS the leg! Ciampa fireman’s carries, and tucks Ilja in, for a SUPER AIR RAID CRASH!! Cover, TWO?!?!? Ilja survives, nose bloody and leg hurting, but Ciampa is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” as both men sputter for air.

Ilja and Ciampa stir, and Ciampa sits up first. Ciampa goes to ropes, Ilja smiles through the blood!? Ilja and Ciampa rise up, step up, and Ilja SLAPS! Ciampa SLAPS! Then they CHOP and SLAP and just throw fast hands! The fans are all fired up as Ciampa gets the edge! Ciampa blocks a kick, and DRAGON SCREWS! Ilja writhes, Ciampa brings his kneepad down! Ilja survives and DIY is SHOCKED! The fans are thunderous as Ilja BACKDROPS Ciampa, sits on the cover, ILJA WINS!!

Winner: Ilja Dragunov, by pinfall (still WWE United States Champion)

But now Gargano CLOBBERS Ilja! DIY couldn’t cheat the champ, so they’ll just beat him down! But here comes MELO! And he fires hands on Ciampa! Gargano is after Melo now but Melo ELBOWS him away! SUPERKICK for Ciampa! FADE AWAY JUMPER on Gargano! The fans fire up as DIY is in retreat! Melo then turns to Ilja, and he helps the man to his feet. The fans cheer, but will we soon see Ilja run it back with H1M? Or do they both have to clear out the jackasses first?

Backstage interview with Je’Von Evans.

Cathy Kelley is with The Young OG, and she says that tomorrow night, Je’Von has arguably the biggest match of his career on Saturday. How is he feeling about this? Je’Von says he can’t lie, he’s giddy as hell! He is having one of the biggest days of his career, and he’s not doing it alone! He’s got his good friend, Leon Slater with him! But then The Miz steps in and says no, no, no! This is ALL wrong! They should be interviewing Miz about his career tomorrow night, but Miz doesn’t have one! Instead, they’re interviewing a KID who wasn’t even alive when John Cena debuted! Je’Von says hold on, Unc!

Miz says do NOT call him “Unc,” he is not Je’Von’s “Unc.” Je’Von still says Uncle Miz had TWO opportunities, lost them both, so that’s a Miz problem. Miz says he wrestles on a level Je’Von is not ready for! Je’Von says they’re both here, so if Miz wants to throw hands, let him know. Miz says he will go to Nick Aldis, make that match, and he will make Je’Von understand that if he gets injured, he won’t make it to SNME, Nephew. Miz storms off, will the Hollywood A-Lister try and revive his career off the Young OG? Or will we all see dat boy get BOUNCY~?

The Wyatts speak.

Uncle Howdy says, “We’re here. AHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Will everyone on SmackDown have to watch their backs tonight?

The Wyatts head to the ring!

SmackDown returns and the lights go down. The fireflies come out to greet Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis & Erick Rowan as they walk down the ramp. Solo Sikoa put them on notice over the WWE Tag Team Championships and even the legacy of Bray Wyatt, but it seems they’re here first. Bow blows out the lantern to sit in the rocking chair. He picks up the mic to say, “Solo Sikoa… You’ve made many claims this past week. Trying to discredit me and my family. But who are you to cast judgment? You may not have the power look within yourself, Solo, but we do.

“And the reality is… Your real family… has all turned their back on you! Because you used and abused those you claimed to love. Your… You’re disillusioned… You’re out of your mind! Saying the MFT runs SmackDown! HAHAHAHA… Rip this veil from your eyes! The MFT runs nothing, while the Wyatt Sick6 have these.” Lumis & Gacy set down the tag titles and the fans cheer. Howdy kneels before the belts, and he tells Solo, “If you and your family tree want these titles… Come and get them!” The fans cheer that! But wait! MFT does indeed make their way out to the ring! But while everyone watches the ramp, Solo is just on the tron.

Solo chuckles and says, “Look at these freaks. Look at ’em. What you thought was gonna happen, huh? That we were just gonna come out there and show up on your terms? Nah. It don’t work like that, okay? Howdy, listen to me, listen to me very, very closely. You don’t get to call the shots around here. Because I’m the one that’s calling the shots. And I see you and your family like to appear from the shadows and attack my family. This time, we are gonna do things my way. Next week, we are coming to take those tag team titles, so you and your family better be ready for war. A word of advice: If you wanna keep your family safe, which I know you do, give us those tag team titles.

“Because if you don’t, the only thing that you can do… is run!” The fans boo Solo using Bray’s words against Howdy, but will Solo regret playing mind games with the Wyatts? Or will MFT finally have gold again?

Charlotte Flair talks Alexa Bliss.

The Queen points out that Lash Legend is bigger than Alexa, and perhaps the strongest woman on the roster. But she’s also young, overconfident, and entitled. Can you believe she walks in here and acts like she owns the place? Can you believe people used to think Charlotte was like that? Alexa sarcastically says, “You? No…!” Well, Alexa has more experience than Lash, this is Alexa’s ring, and she will win. Then #Charlexa will head back for the tag titles. But then Rhea Ripley steps in. Tag team titles, huh? When it comes to who’s next, it is her and Iyo. Alexa says they respect #RheYo, but Charlexa steps aside for no one.

Rhea says good luck tonight. Alexa says good luck, too. Charlotte says Alexa doesn’t need luck. But will Alexa be able to bring down the towering Lash Legend? Or will the Bougie Bully pop #Blisster tonight?

Alexa Bliss w/ Charlotte Flair VS Lash Legend w/ Nia Jax!

The weather is getting colder but the Women’s Tag Division is only heating up as #Charlexa is aiming for the Kabuki Warriors, same as #RheYo and the new combination of Bougie Bully & Irresistible Force. Alexa got a win over Kairi Sane, can she get another win here tonight? Or will Lash pump on the brakes and have her breakthrough moment?

The bell rings, Lash runs up, but Alexa dodges! Alexa jumps on for a SLEEPER! Lash THROWS Alexa away, runs up, but Alexa dodges again. Alexa tilt-o-whirls to RANA Lash outta the ring! The fans cheer, Alexa goes to the apron, and Alexa CANNONBALLS, but Lash catches her! And THROWS her onto barriers! Alexa sputters, Lash drags her back up, and Lash drags Alexa around. Lash puts Alexa in the ring, storms up, and wrenches the arm to knuckle lock. Lash pushes on Alexa’s arm, then CLUBS it! And straight arm lever! The fans cheer the old school feat of strength, and then Lash lets Alexa down to LARIAT! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally for “LEXI! LEXI!” as Lash talks trash on Alexa. Then SPLASH DOWN! Cover, TWO! Nia taunts Alexa and coaches Lash. Lash whips Alexa to the corner, but Alexa BOOTS her! Alexa goes up, leaps, but into Lash’s arms Lash then walks around with Alexa, but Alexa swings through to DDT! Both women are down and the fans fire up! Lash rises first, but Alexa ROCKS her again and again, then KNEES and SHOTGUNS! The fans fire up, Alexa runs, but Lash DECKS her! The “Lash Minute” sends Alexa tumbling. Lash stalks her to the apron, but Alexa HOTSHOTS her away! Lash distracts the ref, and Nia TRIPS Alexa up!

And with that, Lash just beat a WWE Triple Crown Champion! Will this be a sign that Lash & Nia are on their way to those tag titles?

Backstage interview with Aleister Black & Zelina Vega.

Cathy Kelley catches up with the menacing couple and asks for any comment on their Mixed Tag tonight. Zelina says it didn’t have to come to this. Damian Priest is only doing this because he doesn’t like the man that he is. But if he thinks he phones a friend, that’ll make him whole, then he is wrong. Aleister says if Damian is so keen to drag his friends to Hell with him, so be it. The Dark Father and La Muneca head out, will they make Damian and Rhea #FadeToBlack? Or will they learn to fear The Terror Twins?

The Miz VS Je’Von Evans!

The Hollywood A-Lister just always has to have the spotlight. But will he steal it from The Young OG just 24 hours away from the tag match in DC? Or will Je’Von prove exactly why he has this phenomenal opportunity?

SmackDown returns and Je’Von makes his entrance. The bell rings and the two tie up. Miz headlocks, Je’Von powers up and out, but Miz RUNS Je’Von over! The Young OG got one up on the A-Lister! But will he and the Youngest In Charge soon do the same to the WWE World Tag Team Champions? Or will Styles & Dragon show everyone what it is to be phenomenal?

Nia Jax & Lash Legend find Rhea Ripley backstage.

Nia wasn’t sure if Rhea watched, but she should’ve seen what they did to Charlotte & Alexa. That was just a warning. If Rhea hasn’t noticed, things have changed around here. Sorry, is this some sort of threat? Cuz Nia’s been acting real brave now that she’s got a little backup. Rhea doesn’t think they want them reminding them that Rhea is a problem they don’t want to have. So when Rhea & Iyo want the tag titles, they’ll take ’em. Nia grumbles and leaves with Lash. Priest steps in, asks if Rhea is good, and she says she’s good. Priest says don’t worry about Nia & Lash. But keep this energy! He’ll finish getting ready, she just needs to take it easy.

Priest heads out, but then Jade Cargill walks past. The Storm smirks at Rhea, then heads to gorilla. Will the WWE Women’s Champion soon leave Wilkes-Barre and Mia Yim feeling Jaded?

Jade Cargill VS Mia Yim!

Michin walks ‘n’ walks that ever since Jade became champion, she has just been picking on every single one of them! And nothing pisses her off more than a bully! Mia knows Jade’s gonna give everything she’s got, so Michin’s gonna give everything she’s got. But then Jade DECKS Mia at gorilla! And she SMACKS Mia off the road case! Jade drags Mia up, THROWS her into the wall, then says, “Exactly. Now cue my music.” The Storm storms her way out to the ring, did she just cancel her match with the Head Baddie In Charge? Jade says you already know this is #ThatB*tchShow. Jade goes right to the ring and get a mic.

“Cut the music! Y’all gon’ stop tryin’ me! That is what happens when women don’t know their place in the back! Like I said, anybody can step up and get stepped on! Cuz I’m That B-” WAIT! Michin is still making her entrance? And she’s got her kendo stick! She SMACKS security aside, then fires off on Jade! The fans fire up as Miz bullies Jade for a bit! Mia then goes looking, and she brings out a TABLE! The fans cheer that! But Jade BOOTS her down first! The fans boo but Jade TOSSES Mia into the ring! And she even puts the table back! The fans boo more, but Mia BLASTS Jade at the apron! Mia fires hands, Jade shoves her back!

jade guzels and CHOKE SLAMS Mia right down! Jade tells Mia to stay down. Jade picks up her gold and storms her way back out of here. “This is my ring, this is my show, I AM That B/tch, you better recognize! Gimme some real competition.” Who, if anyone, will try to weather The Storm and end the reign?

Mixed Tag: Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley VS Aleister Black & Zelina Vega!

This all started because The Archer of Infamy stood up for R-Truth against The Dark Father, and it has only escalated from there. But will having reinforcements in the form of The Eradicator be just the thing Damian needs to end this? Or will the necessary evil make The Terror Twins and all of SmackDown #FadeToBlack?

SmackDown returns and Priest makes his entrance, followed immediately by Rhea’s. The fans are already fired up as Priest & Rhea step into the ring, and they climb up onto the corners, only for Aleister & Zelina to attack! The fans boo, but Aleister fires off strikes on Priest while Zelina DUMPS Rhea out! The bell rings, Aleister puts Priest in another corner to fire more strikes, but the ref counts. Aleister stops at 4, then storms back up, only for Priest to TOSS him into the corner! Priest fires hands, ROCKS Aleister, then whips him to ropes. Aleister grabs ropes top stop himself, but Priest LARIATS Alesiter up and otu!

Priest finally takes off his vest, and he points to Rhea. The fans cheer that! But Zelina jumps on for a SLEEPER! She’s little more than a backpack, and Priest tags Rhea in. So Zelina SLAPS Rhea! Rhea just gets mad, and Priest says Zelina messed up. Rhea chases Zelina out of the ring, around the ring, then back in, and she stops the slap! Short arm LARIAT! The fans rally for “MAMI! MAMI!” as Rhea then back suplexes! Zelina lands out, tilt-o-whirls, but Rhea stops the DDT! Rhea wags her finger, and powers up to throw Zelina away! Rhea kicks Zelina, KNEE SMASHES, then winds up to LARIAT! The fans fire up with Rhea and SmackDown goes picture in picture.

Rhea sees Zelina go to the corner, and she runs up to RAM her! Rhea RAMS Zelina again and again, and again, then backs off as the ref counts. Rhea brings Zelina out to whip to the corner hard! Rhea then smiles, runs up, but Zelina dodges! Rhea POSTS herself! Zelina then WRINGS the arm out, covers, TWO! Another cover, TWO! Zelina clamps onto an arm and grinds the hold. Rhea endures, fights up, but Zelina CLUBS away on Rhea! Rhea still powers up to go for ropes, and she puts Zelina up top! The ref counts, Zelina still CLUBS Rhea’s arm, then has the HANGING ARMBAR! And then a handspring into the headscissors, Rhea slips free, so Zelina basement DDTS! Cover, TWO! Zelina tries again, handspring and roll, but Rhea picks Zelina up! POWERBOMB! Both women are down and the fans fire up! Rhea and Zelina crawl, hot tag to Priest! Aleister runs in, but Priest LARIATS! And LARIATS! Priest whips, Aleister reverses, but Priest hits the ELEVATED FLATLINER! The fans fire up as Priest ELBOWS Aleister in the corner, then BROKEN ARROW! Cover, TWO!

Aleister survives but Priest powers up the arm. The fans fire up, but Zelina jumps on! Again, more of an inconvenience. Priest throws her away, but Aleister JUMP KNEES! Then GERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up as we get STEREO RAZOR’S EDGE!! Priest says finish her! Rhea hauls Zelina up, RIPTIDE!! Cover, Terror Twins win!

Winners: Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley, by pinfall

Aleister & Zelina tried to tear them down, but the Terror Twins stood tall! Will this help Priest move on from the darkness? Or will this not end until that darkness consumes him?

My Thoughts:

A very good SmackDown, though not as much of a go-home as you’d expect. They had good video packages for John Cena’s career, but nothing they hadn’t already shown in part. I ended up missing/skipping the celebrity shoutouts to Cena, but it’s not like that was going to change anything about Cena VS Gunther tomorrow. And good promos from Aldis and Cody to address Drew McIntyre making this a legal battle before it becomes another title match. Oba showing up was a nice surprise, he had a good promo with Cody to hype up their match, but I could think Cody finds a way to survive Oba. For all we know, Drew attacks and screws things up anyway.

Je’Von Evans being here was another nice surprise, and he had a very good match with The Miz to keep him strong in the eyes of the main roster fans. Je’Von & Leon really are going to have a great tag match with Styles & Dragon, I’m sure. Je’Von VS Ricky Saints is definitely the NXT New Year’s Evil match, and who knows if Je’Von wins to stay in NXT or loses to move to main roster full time. I would imagine with the New Year, there will be some call-ups, especially with the Royal Rumble as the next stop and we can get some fresh names filling out that match. At the same time, it’d be a shame if Je’Von didn’t win the NXT Championship first, maybe it’ll be Ricky instead.

Very good stuff with the Women’s Tag Division, from the little promo from Charlotte, Alexa & Rhea to Alexa VS Lash. Nia getting involved was a given, but that was still a great win for Lash over Alexa. Nia & Lash had a good promo with Rhea, too, and I’m still banking on the big tag title match where at least Kabuki Warriors, Charlexa, RheYo, Nia & Lash, and some form of Judgment Day battle it out. In fact, Bayley & Lyra should also be in that mix given their beefs with Kabuki Warriors and Judgment Day. SmackDown is going to THREE hours, getting more out of all divisions is a must. With that, I expected a bit more out of Jade VS Mia, but Jade being a bully of a champ still works, we can build towards a title match with the Royal Rumble and these three-hour SmackDowns.

Rhea & Priest VS Aleister & Zelina was a really good tag match in the main event, but Zelina may have needed to work on her fancy new moves a bit more before busting them out on TV. That first Code Red out of the Canadian Rack was clearly botched, but kudos to both Zelina and Rhea going again. Very good win for Priest & Rhea, but this feud does not feel done. A shame they already used Last Man Standing as a stipulation, but maybe they escalate to an I Quit match. And even then, I’m not sure the endgame. Priest can win, but is Aleister really going to inherit the trope of “His opponents are forever changed” from Karrion Kross and Bray Wyatt? But at the same time, is Priest really going to kneel to Aleister and be the heavy in a new faction?

Very good promos from both Uncle Howdy and Solo Sikoa to hype up the tag title match, that’ll be some great stuff for next week’s SmackDown. I can’t be sure who wins, but something in story would just make sense if MFT cheated hard to win against the Wyatts. They can then build to a rematch for the Royal Rumble weekend and have an even wilder match. Ilja VS Ciampa was definitely a wild match, and that was exactly what it should’ve been after weeks of Ilja trolling Ciampa and Ciampa screwing over the other contenders. Great win for Ilja, and great save from Melo to chase off DIY. Feels like that’s a tag match right there, with the real goal being a US Championship match. Fraxiom has been hanging around this story, maybe they also get involved to escalate things.

My Score: 8.7/10

As usual, The House of Torture cheats! Sho, still posing as “Dick Togo Jr,” uses the SPOILER CHOKER on the Young Lion, Katsuya, to drag him off of Evil. Then he feeds Katsuya to Don Fale’s GRENADE, and Evil tops it off with a SCORPION DEATHLOCK! But bullying the Young Lion isn’t enough! Sho sits Katsuya up, and Evil has one of the NEVER Six Man belts! But Toru Yano snatches it back! Evil wants mercy, but here come reinforcements! Sanada & Narita attack Yano from behind! The fans boo as the full House is here! Evil talks trash while the fans boo, and Evil again picks up the Six Man title.

Evil gets a mic to tell everyone to shut up! And he tells Yano, “Too bad, HAHAHA!” But since they wanna defend these NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag titles so badly, Evil, Sanada & Narita accept! The fans boo and tell The House to go home! Evil says to shut up, bunch of dummies. And at the Tokyo Dome, Hontai will lose these titles! Got it? Remember it! The King of Darkness wants to be the King of NEVER, but will the Cold-Blooded, Souled Out Snakes help him seal the fate of Yano, Wato & Yoh?

Six Man Tag: David Finlay, Hiromu Takahashi & Gedo VS The United Empire!

It was the other day that The War Dogs and Unaffiliated were minding their own business with their 10 Man Tag, and then Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman & Jakob Austin Young decided to attack! Reasons why aside, will the Rebel, Timebomb & Blacksmith get their revenge? Or will they be conquered by the United Empire?

Well now the Empire attacks Finlay, Hiromu & Gedo during their entrance! But they’re ready, and Hiromu CROSSBODIES Callum! Finlay ROCKS Jakob, Khan kicks Gedo but Gedo CLAWS Khan’s eyes! The fans fire up as Hiromu stomps Callum, and Finlay CLAWS Jakob’s eyes! They move towards ringside, but then end up in the crowd! Finlay HEADBUTTS Callum, and SHOVES him down into the chairs! Finlay stomps Callum, then uses a fan’s SHOE to beat him down!? Khan ROCKS Hiromu while against the railing! The ref reprimands, he wants someone in the ring. Finlay whips Callum into the wall!

The brawling continues as Callum turns things around and he sends Finlay into the wall! Hiromu BOWLS Khan into chairs! Not quite a strike, but he drags Khan up by his beard. Finlay CLAWS Callum’s face then ROCKS him with a forearm! Callum kicks back and ROCKS Finlay! But Finlay SMACKS Callum off a table! And then THROWS him over the merch tables! Finlay even CHUCKS shirts and things at Callum! And SMACKS him with a box! Finlay stands Callum up, Callum ROCKS Finlay! Khan CLOBBERS Hiromu, then CHOKES him with a chair! Then he clamps on the IRON CLAW! Khan drags Hiromu up and brings him around, but Hiromu BOWLS him into chairs!

Finlay keeps after Callum and ROCKS him with a forearm! They go to the back end of the crowd, but Finlay whips Callum into another wall! The ref continues to say get this in the ring, but Hiromu CHOKES Khan with a chair in return for earlier! Hiromu stomps Khan, Callum ROCKS Finlay, and where are Gedo and Jakob in all this? Callum has more fans clear out, Hiromu dodges Khan to kick him, and then Hiromu BOWLS Khan into more chairs! Still not a strike. Finlay BOWLS Callum into chairs, there’s the strike! Finlay CLAWS Callum’s eyes, Khan Mongolian Chops Hiromu! And Mongolian Chops again! Hiromu blocks the third, to Mongolian Chop in return!

The fans cheer, but then Khan IRON BODY BLOWS in return! Finlay and Callum still brawl, and Finlay CLOBBERS Callum with a fan’s bag! But then Callum SMOTHERS Finlay with a fan’s jacket! Callum KNEES Finlay away, then stalks him. Khan drags Hiromu through the crowd and right behind commentary! Khan SMACKS Hiromu off the desk! Finlay HEADBUTTS Callum! Callum flops onto chairs, so Finlay ELBOW DROPS onto him! Finlay rains down fists, then kicks him down. Khan drags Hiromu up and whips him hard into railing, and the front row has to watch out! Callum and Finlay brawl again, and Callum KICKS Finlay down!

Khan has a chair! He winds up and JAMS Hiromu up! The fans cheer as he takes aim, and he SMACKS Hiromu on the back! We finally see Gedo firing body shots on Jakob while Khan IRON CLAWS Hiromu again! Finlay and Callum have also made it to ringside, and Callum puts Gedo in. The bell finally rings, and Callum fires off on Gedo in the corner! Callum goes corner to corner to BOOT Gedo! Feed to Jakob for an ANARCHY PLEX! Then PENALTY KICK! Callum covers, but Callum sits Gedo up! Callum hits the EXCALIBUR STOMPS! Cover, Empire wins!

Winners: The United Empires, by pinfall

The actual match only lasted seconds rather than minutes, but even then Callum wants to beat down Gedo! He rains down forearms, he HEADBUTTS a Young Lion away, and Khan sends a chair in! Callum puts the chair around Gedo’s neck! The fans freak out, but Finlay & Hiromu get in the ring! The Empire retreats, and Callum SPITS at Finlay! Finlay demands a mic! “Hey, where they hell do you boys think you’re going, huh? Here’s the thing, Callum, I know for a fact you’ve been running your mouth, talking some s*it, that you and that homeless looking man you call a partner want a rematch against me and Hiromu!

“Well, you got my attention now. You want a rematch? You got it! We’ll see you b*tches in Kumamoto!” The fans cheer that! But will that battle end up as unruly as this one did? Or will the Savage King & Timebomb demolish the Dominator & Prince of Pace once and for all?

2025 World Tag League Semifinals: Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji VS OSKAR & Yuto-Ice!

The Mad Man & Gene Blaster haven’t always seen eye to eye, but they agreed to team together, and they’ve made it to the semifinals! But they didn’t come this far just to come this far, will they also make it to the finals? Or will the Knock Out Brothers knock them out?

Winner: Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji, by pinfall (advance to the finals)

Divided they fall, but united they stand! Gabe & Yota stayed on the same page, and they overcame the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions! Yuto & Oskar got this far in their first World Tag League, will they only become more powerful as time goes by?

As for the rivals, Gabe stares down Oiwa on commentary, but Zack Sabre Jr. struts his way back out here. With that, Oiwa hops off commentary to step into the ring with Gabe & Yota. They stare down, Gabe in Oiwa’s face while Yota and ZSJ give each other room. Gabe then gets in ZSJ’s face, too, talking trash. The fans applaud, and TMDK backs down for now. Yota takes the mic first, and he tells Gabe, “I said all along, if we are able to combine our efforts, nothing can stop us. Let’s go, one more time!” The fans applaud that, and Gabe takes his turn. “The talking’s done. You’ve seen who the finals are: Gabe & Tsuji, Oiwa & Zack.”

Gabe then adds in Japanese, “OI, TSUJI! World Tag League 2025, ARE YOU READY!?” The fans fire up as Gabe throws down the mic and Gabe shakes hands with Yota. They are War Ready, but can they make The Mighty kneel?

My Thoughts:

Another very good night for World Tag League, but again, not sure why they didn’t just do both semifinals on the same day. Now obviously in those filler matches, those were actually used to book some things down the line, such as the House of Torture wanting those NEVER Six Man titles. Evil, Sanada & Narita is certainly a combination that even without cheating could take the titles from Yano, Yoh & Wato, but they’re definitely gonna cheat as much as they can to take those titles. Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn’t, but it’ll be a good match.

The Empire brawling all over the place with Finlay and Hiromu was really good stuff, but I didn’t think what goes on record as “the match” would be so quick. Finlay & Hiromu VS Callum & Khan for Sunday will be great stuff, and could go either way depending on tag title plans in the New Year. It also depends on if the War Dogs & Unaffiliated stick together, what with Finlay’s contract up that first week of January and perhaps needing to renegotiate. Would be really weird if Finlay goes the way of Jay White and is “kicked out” of Bullet Club for a new leader, and then he ends up in either AEW or WWE here in the states.

And of course, great main event, and I’m a touch surprised it is Gabe & Yota going to the finals. I suppose it would be too much if Oskar & Yuto went right to the finals in their first try, cuz then it’d be like they go downhill from there. They still have something to strive for as a young team, even while they’re still the champions. Though with this, I’ve been saying Yota has to focus on Konosuke Takeshita for WrestleKingdom, so maybe he and Gabe lose in the finals. I would hope it is a straight up awesome match where both teams are firing on all cylinders. It is more a WWE move if Gabe and Yota suddenly disagree again and that’s why they lose, NJPW is more for fighting spirit, so that’s how they should do this.

My Score: 8.8/10
