It’s the Survivor Series Countdown Show!

Join Michael Cole, Joe Tessitore, Wade Barrett & Big E in discussing, analyzing, and predicting all of the action about to go down in San Diego!

Backstage interview with Stephanie Vaquer.

Cathy Kelley is with La Primera and says that while Vaquer knew being Women’s World Champion came with a lot of women chasing after her, no one could’ve predicted someone feigning friendship to get closer to her. What are Vaquer’s last words to Nikki Bella before their match tonight? Vaquer tells Nikki that she knows Nikki’s history, but Nikki doesn’t know hers. Vaquer will show no mercy, and she will show Nikki exactly WHY she is the champion. Vaquer heads out, and now we go to Jackie Redmond with Nikki for the response. Nikki wants to make a statement, but Vaquer just promised no mercy. Why did Nikki choose Vaquer?

Nikki says Vaquer has been here like “five minutes,” but Nikki has been here for decades. Sure, Vaquer promises to destroy her, but that’s a promise she won’t follow through on. And this is about something bigger than just the world title. This is about Nikki’s legacy, and you will respect it! You think you can destroy Nikki? Sorry, mamacita, Nikki will embarrass you! Nikki heads out, will she still be fearless after facing the Dark Angel?

Backstage interview with CM Punk.

Cathy Kelley is now with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and she asks the famous question, “Can they coexist?” She doesn’t wanna call him out but he was pacing around, and she sees there are… egos on the team. How does Punk feel with this level of unpredictability? Punk says, “When you’re in the rarest of air, on top of the mountain, of course you’re gonna be dealing with egos. But this is WarGames. That’s why I’m a little bit more of a serious CM Punk. But I’m in there with a friend of mine, whose father created the WarGames, so he knows a thing or two about it.

“And yeah, maybe me and Roman don’t see eye to eye. But I love his cousins like they were my brothers, so we’ll be on the same page, we’ll be on the same team. It’s everybody that’s across from us that has to worry, okay? Because I’m a very, very dangerous man inside of a steel cage. Drew McIntyre know sit, Brock Lesnar knows it, Paul Heyman knows it, Bron Breakker will find out.” Cathy thanks Punk for his time, but will the Best in the World help his team be the best in the world?

Cassie B sings the United States National Anthem, the Star-Spangled Banner.

Down here, there’s no noise.

Just focus. Precision. Patience. Every image starts in the dark. And for a fraction of a second, a soul gets exposed. Some chase the shot, others live inside it. Both expose the truth. Rage. Resolve. Revenge. Tonight, two teams step into the fray, each fighting to define the same image: The face of a champion. This is Survivor Series: WarGames!

Women’s WarGames: Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & AJ Lee VS Becky Lynch, Nia Jax, Lash Legend & The Kabuki Warriors!

What all started as Mami and the Genius being friends, to the chagrin of Asuka, has now snowballed into a vicious battle that can only be settled inside the sinister steel! Will Rhea, Iyo, #Charlexa and the returning icon of the Women’s Revolution show their brutality? Or will not even this all-star team be ready for the Big Time?

Fitting that this all happens in the San Diego Padres’ baseball stadium, because first in the line-ups are… Charlotte Flair and Asuka! These two want to continue where they left off from last night’s SmackDown and their advantage match, but will the Queen trump the Empress of Tomorrow again? Or will Asuka make sure to nullify any edge Charlotte’s team could have?

Nikki hurries to reel Vaquer in, fireman’s carries, and RACK ATTACK 2.0! Cover, ROPEBREAK!! Vaquer survives by a literal foot, and Nikki is furious! Nikki tumbles to the floor, Vaquer aims, but Nikki blocks the superkick! Vaquer holds ropes to fight the bomb, and she KNEE DROPS onto Nikki’s neck!!

Vaquer drags Nikki up, puts her on the desk, and then climbs up to join her! The fans rally as Vaquer smiles, and she puts the headscissors on! DEVIL’S KISSES on the desk! AH, AH, AH, AH, AH, AH, AH, AH, AH, AH! YEEEEEAH~! The fans fire up as Vaquer puts Nikki back in the ring. Vaquer then drags Nikki up, but Nikki SLAPS her! Vaquer SLAPS Nikki! And BIG back suplex! Vaquer wraps on the headscissors, MORE DEVIL’S KISSES! YEEEEAH~! Vaquer then goes up the corner, takes aim, SACACORCHO MOONSAULT!! Cover, Vaquer wins!

Men’s WarGames: Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns & The Usos VS Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar!

The American Nightmare, Second City Saint, Tribal Chief, #BigJim and Main Event Jey all have beef with The Vision, especially after they added the Maverick, the Scottish Terminator AND The Beast to their line-up. But having those common enemies is the very reason why they’re confident they can pull through and overcome! Will the world have no choice but to ACKNOWLEDGE this all-star team? Or will The Oracle’s new dangerous alliance rise in the Fall?

First in the line-up is… C M PUNK! The fans sing along with Cult of Personality and join in on, “IT’S CLOBBERIN’ TIME~!” as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way out to the ring. Punk already climbs the cage instead of stepping in through the door. But who joins him? The Badass, Bron Breakker! Will he make these first five minutes feel like forever for Punk?

The bell rings and the two step up. The fans rally as these two stare down, and Punk raises his one to the sky! Punk and Bron circle as the time ticks away, and they tie up collar ‘n’ elbow. Bron powers Punk down, has him in a corner, but lets off so he can smirk and egg Punk on. Punk and Bron go again, Bron SHOVES Punk down, and Bron barks to taunt Punk. Punk huffs ‘n’ puffs but the two tie up again. Punk headlocks, Bron powers up and out, and they RAM shoulders! The fans cheer and bark as both men stare down again. They go forehead to forehead, talk a lot of trash, and the fans fire up again! Bron scoops and SLAMS fast!

Bron drags Punk up to shove him into a corner, and he RAMS Punk again and again! Bron runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but the CALF KICK finds him! Punk barks as he uses Bron’s speed against him! Punk brings Bron up, Bron blocks a throw into the steel, then he throws Punk! Punk stops himself, fires hands in return, and keeps on Bron in the corner. Punk ROCKS Bron, but Bron guzels Punk! Bron military presses Punk, aims for steel, but Punk slips free! Punk KICKS and KICKS and KICKS at the leg! The fans rally, Punk goes up the corner, AX HANDLE! Down goes Bron but Punk hurries back up! AX HANDLE into a clinch! OVERHEAD THROW!

The fans bark as Bron rains down fists! Bron huffs ‘n’ puffs and storms around to stand Punk up. Bron whips Punk corner to corner hard, then clinches for another OVERHEAD THROW! Punk flounders to a corner but Bron storms up on him. Bron GRINDS his forearm into Punk’s face, puts him up top, but Punk fires body shots! Punk ROCKS Bron and Bron staggers back. Punk FLYING CLOTHESLINES and down goes Bron! Bron is dazed and the fans rally behind Punk. But the countdown is here, meaning The Vision get to send someone first. Punk TOSSES Bron to the second ring, then into steel! The reinforcements? Drew McIntyre!

The fans boo as Drew storms his way down the ramp, ready to revisit everything he and Punk put each other through back in Hell in a Cell! Punk locks his eyes on Drew as Drew steps into the ring, then he runs up! They fire hands and the fans fire up! Drew picks Punk up to RAM him into the buckles, but Pukn dodges to fire fast hands! Punk whips, Drew hits buckles, but then Drew kicks Punk! And CHOPS Punk! Bron joins in, they pinball Punk, but Punk fires back! The fans rally, Punk SHINING WIZARDS Bron, but Bron sends him into a CLAYMORE!! Drew SMOTHERS Punk, CLAWS at the eyes, then lets off in frustration that he can’t end this already.

Drew THROWS Punk into steel! Punk falls back, Bron and Drew stand over him, and Bron helps Drew stand Punk up. They double military press Punk to LAWN DART him into steel! The fans boo but Drew soaks up the heat. Drew drags Punk around, rains down fists, then he CLAWS Punk’s eyes again! Drew eggs Punk on, DRIBBLES him off the mat, then tells Bron to get him some! Bron rains down fists while the fans rally for Punk. Bron CHOKES Punk, Drew drags Punk up, and they THROW Punk into steel again! Drew GRINDS Punk’s face into the steel like cheese with a grater! But the countdown is back, and Punk finally gets reinforcements in the form of… CODY RHODES!

The fans cheer as the Undisputed WWE Champion throws off his jacket, puts the belt aside, and goes right to the door! Drew tries the Becky move of holding the door shut! So Cody uses the Punk-AJ move of climbing up! Punk JAWBREAKERS Drew so that Cody can SUPER DUPER CROSSBODY!! The fans fire up as Cody HAMMERS away on Drew! Bron drags Cody up, back suplex, but Cody lands out! Springboard, CODY CUTTER! The fans fire up with Cody, Punk bumps into him, and Cody ELBOWS Punk down! Cody apologizes, he was running on adrenaline in his soul. Punk shoves Cody aside, but Drew DECKS him!

Punk is busted open, but Cody jumps on Drew! Drew shakes Cody off but Cody lifts Drew! Punk runs, they hit a HART ATTACK! The fans fire up as these two Bret Hart fans work together after all. Then they get Bron up, Cody SMACKS Bron off buckles. Cody then Electric Chair Lifts, and Punk goes up! They hit a DOOMSDAY DEVICE!! Bron lands HARD on his neck and shoulders and the fans are stunned! Cody stomps Drew, Punk joins in, they mug Drew in the corner. Cody THROWS Drew into steel, then Punk stomps Drew down! Bron is somehow okay so Cody kicks him around. Cody SMACKS Drew off buckles, Punk keeps on Bron.

Cody RAMS into Drew again and again, then he feeds Drew to Punk for a BIONIC ELBOW! The countdown is back as Cody gives some JABS to Drew, then Punk joins in! BIONIC ELBOW from Cody! But The Vision now sends… LOGAN PAUL! The fans boo as WarGames now gets ImPAULsive. Drew tells Logan to fetch some goodies, and Logan brings out chairs from under the ring! Logan puts those in before he enters, and he JAMS Cody up! Then he reels Cody in for a OVERBOMB onto the chair! The fans chant “LOGAN SUCKS!” but he just soaks that up. Logan then FLIES to take out Punk in the second ring!

Bron and Logan dap it up, then Logan and Drew mug Cody! Cody fires elbows back, but Bron JAMS Cody up with a chair! Cody gets that chair to JAM Bron up! Logan climbs, but Cody chases him! They brawl up on the edge of the cage! The fans rally as the hands go back and forth! They cheer Cody and boo Logan, but then Bron SMACKS Cody’s leg with a chair! Drew CLOBBERS Punk while Cody slumps back down. Bron JAMS Cody up again and again and again! Then he JAMS Punk up, too! Logan hops back down to join everyone, and Drew SMACKS Punk with the chair! Bron GRINDS Cody’s face into the steel!

Drew & Logan DOUBLE SUPLEX Punk, and hold him up! The fans still boo, but then Drew & Logan SLAM Punk down and kip up! The countdown is back, but Bron JAMS Cody up! Cody and Punk are joined by… JIMMY USO! The fans cheer as #BigJim SLAMS the door shut on Bron! Then he HOTSHOTS Drew! Then Jimmy fetches himself something good: A TABLE! The fans fire up as Big Jim brings “Slim Jim” into the ring, then he SUPERKICKS Drew! And SUPERKICKS Bron! Then he dodges Logan to POP-UP SAMOAN DROP! But Bron KNEES low! Bron whips Jimmy to a corner, runs up, but Jimmy BOOTS him!

Jimmy goes up, for USO IN THE WIND! Down go Logan & Bron and the fans fire up! But Drew CLAYMORES Jimmy! Drew then goes to the second ring to get Cody! He THROWS Cody into the steel! But Punk stomps Drew down! Punk stomps Drew in the stomach, but Bron drags the table around. Bron runs and runs and runs to LARIAT Jimmy down! The fans bark, but Punk goes after Logan! They fire hands and Punk fires knees! Punk snap suplexes Logan, Logan writhes, and Jimmy CHOPS Drew! And CHOPS Drew! Bron springs up and hits the SUPER STEINER on Cody! Logan keeps on Punk, Bron CHOKES Cody, and Drew beats down Jimmy.

Logan jump stomps Punk, fans want them to, “Use The Table!” Logan goes after Cody now, Drew KICKS Jimmy outta the air, and the countdown is back! Logan LARIATS Cody! Cody is busted open, and The Vision now sends… BRONSON REED! The Colossal Aussie was a casualty of last year’s WarGames, but he only has anger, not fear! Bronson goes right up top, and he aims right at Punk! TSUNAMI!! Then Bron sets Jimmy up, TSUNAMI!! Logan helps set Cody up, and Bronson is right back up! TSUNAMI!! The fans are torn but Bronson is all fired up! Bronson then SPLASHES Cody against the steel!

Bron stands Jimmy up, Drew beats Punk against the ropes, and Bronson SPLASHES Punk! Then he SPLASHES Jimmy! Bronson raises his one, but the fans do not acknowledge the Tribal Thief. Bronson ROCKS Punk, he and Drew mug Punk, then THROW him against the steel! And again! And again! Drew CHOPS Punk, then BOOTS him! Logan DECKS Cody, and Bronson puts the table in the corner. Bronson hauls Jimmy up, JAGGED- NO, Jimmy slips free! SUPERKICK! SUPERKICK for Bron! SUPERKICK for Drew! But Bronson LARIATS Jimmy down! Bron & Bronson coordinate, and they get Jimmy up.

The countdown is back, but Logan BOOTS Cody! Bron military presses Jimmy, GUT BUSTER DROP! Cody’s team sends out… JEY USO! The fans fire up as this is now YEET DIEGO! Jey hurries to the ring, but he watches the others carefully. Jey dodges Bron, SUPERKICKS Bronson, then fires haymakers off on Bron! “YEET! YEET! YEET!” Pop, lock, and “YEET!” Bron is down, Jey mule kicks Bronson! Pop, lock ‘n’ UPPERCUT! Bron blocks a kick but not the DRAGON WHIP! The fans fire up and Jey joins in with “YEET!” HIP ATTACK on Bronson! HIP ATTACK on Bron! Jey helps Jimmy up, they DOUBLE SUPERKICK Bronson!

Then DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Bron! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Drew! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Logan! Logan rebounds, into the ONE D!! The fans fire up, Jimmy SUPERKICKS Bronson, and Jey says let’s roll it back! Punk joins in as we get the YEET encore! Jey climbs up the corner to really get into it! But the countdown ends, and now The Vision sends BROCK LESNAR! The Beast is about to be unleashed inside the cage! Cody’s team gets up but Lesnar LARIATS Jimmy, GERMAN SUPLEXES Jey, then GERMAN SUPLEXES Cody! And BELLY2BELLY for Punk! BELLY2BELLY for Cody! The fans fire up as San Diego is now Suplex City!

Lesnar THROWS Punk at steel! Then he THROWS Cody into steel! Then he BELLY2BELLY SUPLEXES Jey! Fireman’s carry and F5 for Jimmy!! Fireman’s carry and F5 for Punk!! Fireman’s carry and F5 for Cody!! The fans are torn but Lesnar stands tall! The fans already chant for “O T C!” in anticipation, but Lesnar gives Jey another F5! Punk has a chair but Lesnar CLOBBERS him first! Cody kicks Lesnar, throws hands, but Lesnar RAMS Cody into the corner! And RAMS him again! And then OVERHEAD SUPLEXES Cody! The fans boo but Lesnar has his pick of the litter. Lesnar SMACKS Jey with a chair! And he SMACKS Cody!

The final countdown is here! Lesnar SMACKS Punk down, but the fans count it out! Lesnar anticipates it, becomes here comes ROMAN REIGSN! Lesnar waits right on the doorstep as Roman raises his one and gets his pyro while also on the move. Lesnar welcomes Roman on the ramp, using the loophole in the rules, only to get a SUPERMAN PUNCH for it! And another SUPERMAN PUNCH! And then another SUPERMAN PUNCH! Lesnar staggers around, Roman locks ‘n’ loads one more time, SUPERMAN- NO! Lesnar gets under him! F5 through Spanish commentary!! The fans are going nuts as Lesnar stands over the wreckage!

Lesnar drags Roman up, THROWS him against the cage, then drags him around the way, just to THROW him at the cage again! Lesnar whips Roman into the steel steps, and then finally gets him in the ring. The fans sing for “Roman, Roman Reigns~!” but Lesnar closes the door. “And now… Let the WAR GAMES BEGIIIN~!” Lesnar hauls Roman up, fireman’s carries, and F5!! Cover, Cody breaks it! Punk is up, he and Cody coordinate! Fireman’s carry, GO TO SLEEP into the CROSS RHODES!! Double cover, but Logan FROG SPLASHES it apart! The fans boo, and Logan calls to Heyman for the “knucks!” Heyman slips the brass knuckles to Logan!

Logan grins and thanks the Wise Man! Logan loads up that fist, BRASS KNUCKLE RIGHT on Cody!! BRASS KNUCKLE RIGHT on Jimmy!! Logan tells Roman to get up, and he winds up, but Roman SPEARS!! The fans are thunderous as Roman shuts Logan up, and then takes the knuckleduster for his own! The fans are loving it! Roman dodges Bronson, then BRASS SUPERMAN PUNCH! Drew leaps in, but into a BRASS SUPERMAN PUNCH!! Bron is up, straps are down, and the barking gets louder! Bron telsl Roman to bring it! Roman swings, Bron dodges the punch, but Roman SPEARS Bron first!!

Jey coordinates with Roman, gets Lesnar up, and Roman locks ‘n’ loads! But Lesnar fireman’s carries Jey! So Roman just SPEARS THEM BOTH THROUGH THE TABLE!! The fans are losing their minds, Jimmy checks on Jey and Roman, and he helps Roman up. But Bron SPEARS Jimmy! Cody rains down fists on Drew in the background as Bron SPEARS Roman! Jey gets up, Bron SPEARS Jey!! Drew LOW BLOWS Cody! Bron gets Cody, “You will NEVER be better than a Steiner!” Bron runs and runs and runs, to SPEAR Cody down!! The fans either boo or bark but Bron runs up on Punk! Punk sends Bron into steel!

Bron fireman ‘s carries, but Logan saves Bron! Punk dodges the haymaker to fireman’s carry, GO TO SLEEP!! Cover on Logan, Bron breaks it! But wait, who is this person in disguise climbing the cage?!? Everyone is confused, and then the person SUPERKICKS Punk! And CURB STOMP?!?!? WHAT?!? The fans are going nuts as this man gets up and out of the ring, and Bron decides to just accept the help! He puts the straps back on, just so he can pull them back down! Bron builds speed and SPEARS Punk!! Cover, The Vision wins!!

Winners: Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar, by pinfall

Not only did they have advantage, but it seems they had an ace in the hole even they didn’t know about! From starting the match, surviving a nasty Doomsday, and then ending this match, Bron proves he is unbreakable! Will The Vision and their allies be unstoppable now? As for the fallen heroes, Roman helps Punk to his feet, and they fist bump. Then Roman looks at Cody, Cody stands up on his own, and they stare down. There is still much between them that must be settled, but Roman shows Cody respect, for now. Roman does say, this is the last time they’ll ever team together. Cody accepts that.

Roman regroups with The Usos and the team goes their separate ways. How will they all recover from this abject failure?

My Thoughts:

A great Survivor Series that just flew by, and that’s even with them padding time on the title matches tonight. But WWE clearly wanted to make this show three hours and some change, so the padding made sense. Cena did kinda deserve all the time they could spare since this would be his last Survivor Series, his last “PLE,” and apparently his last title match. Cena VS Dom was a great match, and I appreciated the layers Judgment Day put into their plan, including that masterful faked injury. Personally, I thought this could’ve just been Liv turning on Dom, but I guess WWE wants to drag out the Judgment Day dysfunction and drama.

Vaquer VS Nikki was a good match, but Nikki was never a Trish or Lita level wrestler. Nikki did great in character work, and she at least hit her flying kick this time. But duh, Vaquer was winning, and last that was said, Raquel is being set up for another opportunity, she and Vaquer can have a great feud on the side while this Liv-Dom-Roxie triangle finally finishes up. Great Women’s WarGames, as we’ve gotten in the past, and we of course got new takes on what have become signature spots: Rhea’s face mask gave her a chance to cosplay and it was awesome; Iyo gets her trashcan, and I really loved them having Rhea help AJ there. Great win for the Faces, makes me think we’ll get a big Women’s Tag Title story while AJ and Becky feud on their own.

It seems they decided to let each team that got advantage win in the end, given the Heels won the Men’s WarGames. The men’s match didn’t quite play up the dysfunction like they should have, and even when they did, it was done poorly. Why could Cody throw an elbow when he knows it was 2v2? And then they still did tag moves, though WOW Bron is tough for taking that botched Doomsday Device and getting back up. But in a clever move, Lesnar leaving the cage to brawl with Roman actually made the stupid rule, “The match doesn’t officially start until all ten men are in the ring,” relevant!

And then this mystery attacker, that’s clearly NOT Rollins but they want us all to think it is, but it’s not hard to use a Superkick and a Curb Stomp, that could be Austin Theory or a call-up for all we know. That seemed like the only real story coming out of this, or at least the only interesting thing. I don’t think they should do Roman VS Cody again after two years in a row of that, and I don’t see Roman VS Punk being logical. Roman probably just focuses on The Vision and more of the dysfunction with the Usos, and we’ll worry closer to the Royal Rumble if Roman’s in a title scene.

My Score: 8.9/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 12.4.2025

Final Resolution is tomorrow, there haven’t been a lot of episodes to establish things. But invasion warfare writes itself at least.

Published

on

Well if you didn’t hear that TNA will be moving to AMC instead of AXS TV, they did a whole video package for the first 5 minutes of the show with a cover of Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight. They’re making it feel like a big deal, which is honestly great and is truly pretty big. AMC is in twice as many homes as AXS TV, so this is their first upgrade since moving from Fox Sportsnet to Spike TV in 2005.

Let’s hope they use all of this downtime with a month off after Bound For Glory, Thanksgiving was a clip show and the Turkey Suit match, and they keep saying tomorrow’s Final Resolution is the end of their year, so they may just do their usual clip show end of year too. So TNA needs to come out swinging next year with three months of nothing and questionable Russo-esque decisions.

More Rascalz, that’s how we can start AMC off strong, Golden Treehouse, give them all the titles.

Ratings:

  • Brooks Jensen vs Home Town Man: Jensen wins via Rolling Kick – ** 1/2
  • Dani Luna vs Xia Brookside: Xia wins via Small Package – ** 3/4
  • Robert Stone vs Mike Santana: Mike wins via Spin the Block – SQUASH
  • Mustafa Ali vs Trey Miguel: Ali wins via Sharpshooter – ***
  • Steve Maclin, Cedric Alexander, Hardy Boyz vs Tyrek, Tyson, Stacks & Lexis King: Lexis wins via Cradle – ***

Results:

Brooks Jensen vs Home Town Man

HTM is actually…out wresting Brooks early. Brooks tries to come out using his size and youth, but Cody-erhm-HTM has counters for everything culminating in a Crossbody for two. Hometown goes for the Sliced Bread but it’s too early and Lexis King on the outside causes enough issues to turn the tide. Brooks starts throwing HTM around, Uppercuts, Stomps, Knees to the back of the head…but Brooks misses a knee! Homie tries to fire and go for a slam but falls over because Brooks is too big. Brooks goes for the Bear Hug submission as Hometown tries to plead to the crowd. Homie claps bells, rope runs a few times into Brooks, Brooks stays up, so a little rope-a-dope into a Flying Lariat and then a Power Slam! Hometown Elbow, into Hometown Slice…but Lexis hits the apron and Homie hits the Dive on Pillman Jr. Lexis grabs Homie to slow the momentum, Homie gets caught with a really slow and ugly Capo Kick…but…effective. 1-2-3, NXT gets a win with cheating.

IInspiration comes out to remind people that the Knockouts Tags are still sadly a title and they’re the champions. Tessa and Victoria Crawford interrupt the goofy ahh promo, Tessa is fantastically snarky…their Mila newbie from Turning Point blind sides Cassie and Jessie, so it looks like Tessa may have the makings of a faction. But as they taunt, the IInspiration gets up since Victoria and Mila are kinda joke characters right now. So Tessa bails as Vix and Mila get rekt. Honestly, I’d like to see Vix and Tessa win the title. Tessa is too good to be without gold this long, she’s made her apologies, giving her the Tag belts is a good softball to see how crowds react. Plus Tessa looks like a million bucks, so you want her on AMC.

Dani Luna vs Xia Brookside

My heart is conflicted. I love Dani Dumptruck, but I have no desire to see her beat Lei Ying Lee for the title. The Xia mirror match at least has the fun story of teammates colliding, which doesn’t need a build and Brookside can lose with no real damage.

Dani just tosses Xia off a few times. The power advantage is all in favor of Dani Dumptruck. Xia does manage to use the ropes to help take down Dani with a Headlock, but Dani powers out eventually. This definitely builds like a World of Sport match, which yes, they’re both British, but this is slow, deliberate and Dani is just tearing apart Xia with Knee Bars, Arm Captures, Stomps and Power moves. Back from the commercial Dani is playing wall ball with Xia Brookside as the ball. Obviously we’re waiting for the underdog fire from Xia, but you just have to wonder if it’ll be enough to win, or just make it more competitive. She’s selling well with her body language and facials as she starts the comeback with Forearms, a stiff one and two funny Lariats into a Satellite Facebuster.

Charging Elbow into the corner, Broken Wings, and Xia hits the Crossbody for two and Xia is selling the injured limbs, but had a nice burst of throwing it all out there. Dani with a power out Snapmare, tries something but Xia locks in the Octopus Hold! Dani tosses her off but eats a Russian Leg Sweep and then Xia locks in an Armbar. Dani stands and turns it into a Buckle Bomb, rope assisted Blue Thunder Bomb…and only two. Dani starts hunting for chairs and chains, but Indi Hartwell comes down, doesn’t see Indi attack Dani, so Xia with the Small Package for the win.

While I’m glad we get the Xia mirror match, I don’t want to see Dani and Indi again unless they have Dani finally get over. No reason to try to set up Dani as this brute and have her lose every time it matters.

Robert Stone vs Mike Santana

Stone attacks Mike as he’s coming out of the crowd, and he takes the advantage until he telegraphs a Back Body Drop, eats a kick and then Spin the Block levels Robbie E in no time.

Mustafa Ali vs Trey Miguel

Trey was playing with Ali early, counters, ducking, playing around avoiding offense. But Ali finally clocks him, and the pace slows down but Trey snaps back with a Back Elbow, catches Ali in the Up and Over Crucifix Bomb. Two count, Mustafa powders, Trey tries to chase, but Mustafa catches him sliding through the post into a DDT on the floor. Ali lands a few shots, Trey tries something but Ali catches him into a Stalling Brainbuster…stalling for what feels like 30 seconds before dropping Trey down. Rolling Neckbreaker is countered by a Lionsault from Trey. Trey kicks off Ali with a lift and Tiger Wall Run, into a Dropkick. Ali tries to bounce with it and come back at him but a Frankensteiner from Trey keeps Ali on the back foot. Bunch of counter gymnastics next, Ali is on the outside, Trey wands the dive and does the Rey Mysterio Sliding DDT to the floor. Trey throws in Ali, Meteora, but only a two count. I forgot that wasn’t Trey’s finish anymore since he hasn’t had a solo match in a minute.

Some acrobatic assist crap into a Springboard Destroyer, Ali manages to Matrix out at two. Trey tries the Meteora again and misses, so Ali locks in the Sharpshooter and Trey taps. It was alright, but overly cooperative Wuxia wrestling is lame. I’ll play Where Winds Meet or watch a Jet Li movie if I want to watch cool spots for the sake of it.

Steve Maclin, Cedric Alexander, Hardy Boyz vs Tyrek, Tyson, Stacks & Lexis King

Maclin and Alexander blindside NXT while the Hardyz enter alone. So TNA with some payback on the sneak attack side, Maclin Kitchen Sink on Stacks, Maclin tosses Lexis to Cedric and Ced snaps off a German. TNA is in full control early on. Maclin tags out to Matt, Arm Wringers and then the Hardy combination after Matt tags in Jeff. Hardys hit Poetry…no Lexis gets in the way and breaks up the poetry, all 8 are in, 3 NXT members are thrown out, Stacks is left and he’s getting bounced around by all four TNA wrestlers until they just Double Hip Toss him into the pile of waiting imbeciles because of course we need that spot. Announce team does remind us that Stacks is Arianna’s fiance, so thus further leading to her being the mole in the company.

Back from the commercial, oh look NXT is winning. Commercial break 101 where the momentum is completely shifted and we don’t actually get to see it. Stacks is wearing out Cedric, but they start trading blows until an errant kick from Stacks forces him to eat a Dragon Screw. Simultaneous tag, Lexis and Maclin, Maclin rocks Lexis, Vader Hammer, Elbow to the back of the skill, Hip Attack, Caught in the Crosshairs, but Lexis sits up. Maclin wipes out all of the NXT guys who try to interfere, but Lexis with a Wrecking Ball Dropkick to take control. Now Maclin is in the NXT corner getting cut off and worked over.

Stacks and Lexis over extend. Missed Cannonball, Maclin chucks Lexis over the top, Double Lariat down spot. Another simultaneous tag Jeff and Lexis, classic Jeff offense with an addition of an Apron Splash on the entire NXT squad on the outside. Jeff looks for Swanton, but Stacks says no and Lexis crotches Jeff. Cedric gets involved and we reach the signature spam moment of this multiman imbecile matches.

Lexis Superkicks Matt, but the Hardys hit the Plot Twist on Lexis! Stacks breaks up the pin and we’re still going on. Stacks tags himself in and attacks Jeff but gets crotched. Matt and Jeff hit a Tree of Woetry in Motion. Maclin does a Jeff Hardy dance before Caught in the Crosshairs, Cedric dives on the mass of humanity outside…but Lexis hits Maclin with the cane in the chaos, and Maclin eats the pinfall.

Overall Score: 5/10

This was a very mediocre episode. I’ll say they got the outcome of Dani and Xia correct, but the way they got there is lame. Indi’s facial expressions are awful, so her trying to be angry looks more constipated. The crowd loves Indi and in shorter matches she was fine, but when expected to control or emote a story, she is completely worthless. Tessa with her little Disciplinary Committee is amusing since she’s the only legit one in the group. The swerve to the NXT angle is looking more and more like the obvious linchpin of Arianna turning heel.

All in all, the show was inoffensive, but with the inconsistent filming and what feels like throw together PLEs last few months, I can’t really care when you can tell there’s not much creative energy utilized. At least we didn’t have to sit through an awful “Mr. Elegance” segment. But yeah I’m not going to expect any real effort until the first AMC episode, because they’re just coasting on a bad schedule, missed episodes and no real main event scene.

The fans boo as Sammy ruins this match! And he SUPERKICKS Komander for good measure! The fans boo more as Sammy RIPS at Komander’s mask, and SNATCHES it off!! Abrahantes hurries to find a replacement, but BANDIDO rushes out here! The Most Wanted CLOBBERS Sammy with the belt! And BOOTS Mortos! Then SUPERKICKS Mortos! Komander gets his mask back, puts up his dukes, but Bandido helps Komander to his feet. The fans cheer them both on, but then Don Callis is on the mic! “Senoras y senores! In the immortal words of Mil Mascaras, donde esta me pantalones blancooooooo?”

The fans boo Callis insulting a legend, but Callis continues to say, “From the great country of Mexico y La Familia de Don Callis, ariba la familia, ariba Hechiceroooooooooooooo~!” And as such, The Alchemist of Lucha ATTACKS FROM THE CROWD SIDE! SHOTGUN on Bandido, then LFI mugs Komander! Hechi bumps Bandido off buckles, Mortos SNATCHES Komander’s mask again, and Hechi hits Bandido with the SWINGING BACKBREAKER! But then Hechi snatches the title from Mortos! Hechi is not about to let Mortos claim he’ll win tomorrow night. They tug-o-war on the belt, Sammy joins in, and then Sammy holds up the belt! The fans boo, but even Mortos disagrees. Family and friendships aside, these three are going to fight over this belt! Sammy tells them both to just put the belt down and worry about this on Friday. The fans chant, “Sammy Sucks! Sammy Sucks!” but could Final Battle be the end of Bandido’s reign?

Six Man Tag: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners VS Jake Omen, Ashton Adonis & Josh Crane!

While The Peacock & The Youngest Men Alive want to be strong in the Trios Division, their run in with The Demand has given Castle a chance at the AEW National Championship! Will Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd help Castle enter Final Battle with major momentum? Or will they regret overlooking Mr. International, Mr. Astonishing & The Luckiest Man In The Building?

The trios sort out and Truth starts against Omen. They tie up, Omen headlocks, but the fans rally as Truth powers up and out. Omen RUNS Truth over, then mocks the flex! Omen says shove it, then runs, but Truth drops down, hurdles over, and tells Omen to stop! And check out the gun show! The fans cheer Truth’s flexing, and he hits Omen with an atomic drop! And a DROPKICK! And then an arm-drag! Omen scrambles, tags Crane, but Truth arm-drags Crane down! Wrench and tag to Turbo, and the fans rally up! Truth tags Castle, Castle SPLASHES DOWN! The fans cheer as Castle joins in with the flexing. Omen & Adonis run up, but The Outrunners HIP TOSS them away! Castle gut wrenches Crane and deadlifts him up! The fans fire up and Turbo tags in! Castle THROWS Crane, Turbo tags Truth, and the Outrunners handoff the wristlock. But Crane pulls hair, puts Truth in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Omen, he CHOPS! Tag to Adonis, he CHOPS! Tag back to Omen, he and Adonis double whip, but Turbo sneaks a tag! Truth dodges to CHOP and CHOP and CHOP! Crane runs up, but Turbo ROCKS him! The Outrunners pinball Crane, then scoop SLAM!

Then they hit the BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO! The fans fire up wth Turbo but Omen manages to tag Crane! Crane SLAPS Turbo, but the fans tell Crane he messed up. Castle dodges, The Outrunners DUMP those two out! Then they get Crane up! Whip and scoop, Castle SLAMS Crane down! The Outrunners raise their hands, the fans fire up, and… “TURBO FLOYD! YOU SONOVAB*TCH!” Handshake and DOUBLE ELBOW DROP! The fans cheer as then Castle Alabama Lifts! They all spin for BANGARANG!! Cover, Castle & The Outrunners win!

Winners: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners, by pinfall

The Peacock says this is why he is fit to be a National Champion! Castle is running hot, but wait! The Demand is here! Ricochet swaggers on out, and the Gates of Agony attack from behind! It’s like a replay of the last time! The fans boo as Kaun whips Truth hard into railing, and then Liona whips Turbo hard into railing! Ricochet mockingly asks what happened, then he steps into the ring with Castle. Castle fights off the Gates, Ricochet backs off, and the 2v1 gets the better of Castle! Ricochet then BELT SHOTS Castle to top it off! Ricochet backs up to take aim, the Gates set Castle up, SPIRIT GUN!!

The fans boo even harder, but The Demand stands tall over Castle. Will The One & Only AEW National Champion stay the AEW National Champion? Or is he the one underestimating this former ROH World Champion?

Queen Aminata talks with Deonna Purrazzo backstage.

And it is clear by the neck brace what this is about. Aminata says she requested this time. After speaking with Tony Khan and the doctors… She didn’t want to end her tournament run this way, but unfortunately, she is not medically cleared to wrestle. They both wanted to wrestle each other, but Aminata’s neck is not something she can gamble with. That said, Aminata forfeits, and Tony Khan has granted Deonna a bye in the tournament. Aminata wishes Deonna luck, and Deonna thanks her. Deonna says this isn’t how she wanted to win like this, either. She has always prided herself on being a fighter, and she wanted to fight Aminata for that finals spot.

But it doesn’t matter if it is Billie or Yuka, Deonna will win and become the first-ever ROH Women’s Pure Champion, And when Aminata is cleared, while Deonna is champion, she’ll be waiting for her. Deonna then tells Billie and Yuka that it doesn’t matter who wins tonight, because tomorrow, ROH is about to become fluent in Purrazzo again. The Virtuosa sends her ultimatum, but will she still prove herself the best technical wrestler in the Women’s Division?

Mercedes Mone VS Lovely Miss Larkan!

The CEO did NOT take lightly to Red Velvet accusing her of ducking and dodging. #UltiMone is here to make a point, but will THE Undisputed ROH Women’s World TV Champion be spotless going into Final Battle? Or will her Money Train be derailed by The Trauma Train?

Larkan is way too excited for The Code of Honor, but Mone still shakes her hand. The bell rings, and Mone THROWS Larkan down by her hair! The ref reprimands and the fans are torn, but Mone does her CEO dance. Mone drags Larkan up, says this is HER show, but Larkan kicks low! And UP KICKS! Then then pumps up, only for Mone to block the kick! Mone KNEES Larkan down! Then brings her around, BACKSTABBER into STATEMENT MAKER!! Larkan TAPS, Mone wins!

Winner: Mercedes Mone, by submission

The champ doesn’t get paid by the hour, so she makes quick work of Larkan. She tells Red Velvet to keep crying, because Final Battle will be her last battle! Will Mone still hold onto the ROH Women’s World TV Championship? Or is #ThirteenBeltsMone about to have some bad luck?

ROH Women’s Pure Championship Semifinal: Billie Starkz VS Yuka Sakazaki!

With Queen Aminata’s withdrawal, everyone knows who the winner of this match will face at Final Battle. But will Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths look to enter her second-ever inaugural championship match? Or will the Wrestling Magical Girl put a spell on Billie and head for the gold?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and we are on the clock. The fans rally as the two circle, feel things out, and Billie calls for the Test of Strength. But then she teases Yuka with constantly switching the hands! The fans boo but Billie smirks while Yuka pouts. Billie also teases Yuka for her height and Yuka huffs ‘n’ puffs. They circle, tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, and they go around. Yuka powers Billie to the corner, Billie powers Yuka back, and Billie waistlocks. Yuka fights, they go to ropes, and the ref counts. Billie lets go, and that counts as Yuka’s first. But Yuka kicks Billie low! Yuka snapmares Billie, shifts around, body scissor and ROLLING CRADLE!

The fans fire up as they go around and around and around, then finally stop on the cover, TWO! The fans cheer while Yuka rises up. Yuka ducks ‘n’ dodges, then RANAS! Billie tumbles out of the ring and the fans fire up! Yuka watches Billie stumble around the outside, and she hits the low-slingshot, only for Billie to dodge the lariat! Billie ROCKS Yuka, goes for the post, but Yuka stops herself! Yuka ROCKS Billie, then POSTS her! The fans fire up with Yuka and she brings Billie up. Yuka puts Billie in the ring, then springboards, but Billie SUPERKICKS her first! Billie then has the SLEEPER on the ropes! The fans boo, the ref counts, Billie stops at 4.

The ref calls that a neutral break, and Billie drags Yuka in. Billie THROWS Yuka down by her hair, stomps away on her, then glares at the ref. Billie drags Yuka back up, ROCKS her with a forearm, then CHOPS! Billie whips Yuka corner to corner, then runs up to LARIAT! And DDT! Billie grins off that stiff impact and she covers, TWO! Yuka survives and Billie is frustrated already. Billie drags Yuka up, Yuka ROCKS Billie! And fires more shots! Yuka CLUBS Billie as we’re four minutes in, and Yuka suplexes. Billie blocks it, Yuka CLUBS Billie again, then puts her against ropes. The ref counts, Yuka stops, that is Billie’s first!

But then Billie ROCKS Yuka with a closed fist! The ref issues that first warning, but Billie fires forearm shots! Billie snapmares Yuka into a half nelson, but the fans rally behind Yuka. Billie traps an arm, and has a modified crossface. Yuka endures, fights up, and fires body shots. Yuka snapmares and rolls to BASEMENT KICK! Yuka runs, SLIDING FOREARM! Cover, TWO! Billie stays in this but Yuka stays on her. Yuka suplexes, but Billie blocks! Billie wrenches out, full nelsons, DRAGON SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Yuka survives, but Billie is back to the half nelson! Yuka has the ROPEBREAK! Billie lets go, but that is Yuka’s second!

Billie says to figure this out faster, ref! She goes to suplex again, but Yuka blocks it! Yuka fires body shots and wrenches out, to ROCK Billie! And SUPERKICK! And then ROLLING ELBOW! Billie wobbles, Yuka brings her around, scoop and SNOWPLOW DRIVER! The fans fire up, Yuka covers, TWO!! Billie survives, but Yuka has a leg! ANKLE LOCK! Billie endures, reaches out, but Yuka steps over! Yuka puts a lot of pressure on the leg, but Billie shakes her head! Billie scratches and claws her way forward, reaches out, and has the ROPEBREAK! Yuka lets go, that is Billie’s second, and we’re past seven minutes in.

Yuka goes up the corner, but Billie hurries to ROCK her with a forearm! And ROCKET LAUNCHER! Billie goes up, up, and SWANTON- FLOP!! Yuka avoids disaster to go up top herself! DIVING BODY PRESS!! Cover, TWO?!? Billie survives and even shocks herself! Yuka hurries to the apron, goes up the ropes, but Billie trips her up! And she reels Yuka in for a suplex! Yuka fights it, but Billie goes again! GHOST BUSTER!! The fans fire up as Billie shrieks, and now she has the leg! Billie pulls on the leg, turns Yuka, but Yuka kicks and kicks and kicks! Billie falls, but she holds onto the foot! She makes it a HEEL HOOK!!

Yuka endures, grabs Billie’s leg, ANKLE LOCK!! The fans fire up while both women endure and put the pressure on the other! They both move around, trying to find a point of leverage! Then they start firing forearms! The fans rally, Billie goes back to the HEEL HOOK!! Yuka grabs the rope, but so does Billie?! That’s a DOUBLE ROPEBREAK, and now no one is safe! We’re at the ten minute mark, one of the longest Pure Rules matches in the Women’s Division to date! Yuka and Billie rise up, the fans rally and duel, and Yuka fires a forearm! Billie fires back! Yuka fires another forearm, but Billie fires back! The fans are getting louder as the shots keep going!

Yuka fire a flurry, but Billie KNEES low! Billie runs, but Yuka DROPKICKS the leg out! Yuka runs, but Billie dodges the lariat! Billie runs back up to BOOT! Yuka rebounds to ROLLING ELBOW! Billie rebounds to HEEL KICK! Yuka ROCKS Billie, ROCKS her again, and then runs up! Billie dodges, table tops Yuka, and high stack, WITH ROPES! BILLIE WINS!!

Winner: Billie Starkz, by pinfall (advances to the finals)

At 10 minutes and 43 seconds, Billie bends the Pure Rules to her advantage and seals the deal! Billie and Deonna will meet in the championship match, but will Billie make history again by becoming the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion? Or will that honor belong to the Virtuosa?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode for ROH, especially as part two of the go-home. Mone of course won her match, but I will say Larkan is good at this goofy, over the top kind of character selling Mone’s offense. Mone could certainly win at Final Battle to keep the Women’s TV title, but it’d be a great start to the larger story of #UltiMone falling apart if Red Velvet took this title back and basically started where she left off before her injury. Mortos VS Komander was great stuff, but of course Sammy had a part to play. All that was a very good brawl to send us to Survival of the Fittest, but I feel like now this means Bandido finds a way to retain. Or Blake Christian wins because he wasn’t anywhere near this.

I figured Castle & The Outrunners, which Castle himself might be trying to name the (Pea)cockrunners, would win their match, but that whole segment was so The Demand could attack again. The go-home math would say Ricochet actually loses, but that can’t be, right? He just got the belt, this is the first defense, and it’s on an ROH PPV, not an AEW event. Though, how hilarious would it be if Ricochet’s arrogance cost him and he got embarrassed like that? Again, Castle is a legit wrestler and hit it big in ROH in the past, this would be a great way to elevate Castle again.

A shame about Aminata, but with her being out of Blood & Guts, it was also pretty clear she wasn’t going to be 100% by the time her tournament match came up. Not to harp on the horribly slow pacing of this tournament by TK, but if they’d gotten things going, maybe we would’ve gotten Aminata VS Deonna before the neck injury. Though, perhaps that injury was inevitable, so it might’ve been a wash. Billie VS Yuka was great stuff, pushing the time limit and the ropebreak limit much further than even some Men’s Pure Rules matches do these days. Great win for Billie with a similar loophole to what we’ve seen Lee Moriarty use, Deonna VS Billie will be great stuff.

My Score: 8.7/10
