The Protostar had a strong start, Jungle Jack had a rough start, and yet they’re both in the same boat as the rest of their block: Win and you’re in, lose and go home! Will the Aussie Arrow hit the mark and head for World’s End? Or will the Windy City be about that Tarzan Life?

The bell rings and the fans fire up, but the clock is already ticking. The Hammerstein cheers “A E DUB! A E DUB!” Jack and Kyle circle, tie up, and Kyle puts Jack in a corner. The ref counts, the fans duel, and Jack pushes Kyle back. Kyle waits on Jack, the two reset, and they tie up. Jack wrenches to hammerlock, but Kyle reaches back. Jack headlocks, the fans cheer “Both These Guys!” while Kyle powers out. Kyle CLOBBERS Jack, the fans are torn, but things sped up. Jack drops down, hurdles over, but Kyle avoids the dropkick! Jack scrambles, wary of his bad foot, and Kyle has a sinister smile.

The fans rally with “AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE! OI OI OI!” Kyle goes for a leg, Jack facelocks, and he gator rolls with Kyle. The fans rally, Kyle pushes on the bad foot, but Jack slips away. The fans cheer while Jack backs away to a corner. Kyle waits on Jack, Jack steps up and the two reset. Then Kyle dropkicks the leg out! The fans cheer while Jack writhes, but Kyle drags Jack around to DDT the foot! Jack goes to ropes, Kyle kicks the bad leg, then JUMP STOMPS again and again! Kyle clamps on, and he wraps the foot around the ropes! The ref counts, Kyle stops at 4, and Kyle says, “I’ve got ’til five.”

The fans are torn, Kyle steps up, but Jack CHOPS! And CHOPS! Kyle snarls, Jack CHOPS, so Kyle kicks low! Kyle whips, Jack ducks ‘n’ dodges to RAN- NO! Kyle stops that, and he drops Jack into the HALF CRAB! Jack scrambles to the ROPEBREAK! Kyle pulls on the leg, then stops as the ref counts 4. The fans are torn, Kyle taunts Jack, then DDTS the foot again! Kyle turns Jack over to twist the foot in a toehold! Then he STOMPS the foot! Jack goes to a corner, Kyle storms up on him, but Jack kicks back. Kyle stomps Jack down, then stands him up to CHOP! The fans “WOO~” but Jack CHOPS back! And CHOPS again!

Kyle CHOPS and Jack staggers to the corner. Kyle whips corner to corner, runs up, but Jack slips out! Kyle hits buckles, Jack RAMS low, then Jack slingshots up and over! Jack hobbles but he gets moving, and he RANAS Kyle up and out of the ring! The fans fire up again and Jack rises to the apron! Jack aims, the fans rally behind him, FLYING RAN- NO! Kyle stops another rana, and he swings Jack up, APRON POWERBOMB! Jack falls to the floor and Kyle grins. The fans are torn, the ref checks Jack, and Kyle mocks the fans clapping for “Jungle Jack! Jungle Jack!” Kyle then drags Jack up, puts him in, and the fans rally harder.

Kyle stalks Jack, stands him up, and reels him in. Kyle suplexes, holds Jack up, but Jack BITES Kyle’s NIPPLE! Kyle lets Jack go, and Jack CHOPS! CHOPS! CHOPS! Kyle scoops to SLAM Jack into the ropes! Jack writhes as he clutches that bad ankle, and Kyle makes sure his pecs are still there. Kyle drags Jack to the corner to SLAM the bad leg against the post! Then he puts the foot between post and steps! Kyle STMOPS away on Jack’s chest, the fans boo and the ref counts, but then Kyle unties the boot! The ref reprimands, Kyle says he’s just taking off the boot! The foot is exposed, the fans boo, but Kyle then pulls off the sock.

Kyle BITES the sock!? Then he STOMPS Jack’s bare foot on the steel steps! The fans tell Kyle he’s sick, but he just flexes and soaks up that heat while Collision goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Jack while Kyle walks around to soak up more heat. Doc Sampson is called over to check Jack while Kyle rizzes up the Manhattan Center. Jack pleads with Doc but it’s hard to say how that foot and leg are looking. It certainly hurts, but Jack insists he can continue. Kyle watches Jack struggle, and Jack tells Doc to leave him alone already. Jack sits up, but Kyle BOOTS him down! Kyle argues with the ref, drags Jack from the corner, and holds him up by that bad leg! Then Kyle turns Jack over into a HALF CRAB! Jack endures, reaches out, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Kyle mockingly counts along, and stops at 4.

Kyle again copies Bryan Danielson by saying he has ’til 5. Jack clutches that bad foot, but Kyle SLAPS him in the head! Kyle then stands Jack up to scoop and SLAM! Jack writhes, Kyle talks a bit of smack, and Jack forces himself to stand. Jack CHOPS, but then the bad leg brings him down. Kyle eggs Jack on, Jack CHOPS again, but again Jack falls! Kyle eggs Jack on while Christmas Collision returns to single picture. Jack CHOPS, and CHOPS, but Kyle BOOTS him down! Kyle soaks up the cheers and jeers, then runs, but into a DROPKICK! Double-edged given the bad foot but the fans fire up as both men fall!

The ref again checks Jack but he drags himself to a corner. The fans rally up again, but Kyle runs up! Jack BOOTS Kyle, ELBOWS him, then ROCKS him with a forearm! Jack CHOPS, ROCKS, and whips, but Kyle reverses. Jack manages the Tiger Wall Flip! But Kyle stays back, so Jack jams his foot up for nothing! Kyle full nelsons, Jack fires elbows, then the COMEBACKER! The fans fire up while both men are down again! Kyle bails out, Jack roars as he rises, and the fans rally again. Jack fights through the pain to build speed, slide, and wheelbarrow BULLDOG on the floor! The fans fire up while Kyle staggers around!

Jack gets in the ring, and he builds speed again! Jack DIVES, but Kyle catches him! To then BRAINBUSTER on the ramp! The fans go nuts and the ref checks Jack’s head! Kyle drags Jack to ringside, puts him in the ring, and then looms over Jack. Kyle drags Jack back up, scoops, and MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, TWO!!! Jack survives and the fans are thunderous! Jack shakes his head, but so does Kyle, neither man is giving in so easily! New York rallies for Jack as he goes to a corner. Kyle runs in, GAMANGIRI! Then he puts Jack right up top, climbs up after him, but Jack fires body shots! Jack CLUBS away, then adjusts!

The fans are already worried as Jack SUPER SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMBS!! The fans are thunderous for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” for making this the opener! Jack drags himself up with the ropes while Kyle sits up. Jack says time to make a sacrifice! GLASS- NO, Kyle blocks the knee to KICK the bad leg! And HALF CRAB!! Five minute warning as Jack endures, and Kyle uses his own leg to block Jack from the ropes! And he even shifts angle on the pull of the leg! Jack endures, but Kyle pushes on that knee! Jack still reaches out, only for Kyle to drag him away! Jack turns over, kicks and kicks, but Kyle stomps away in return!

But Jack blocks the stomp! GRAPEVINE! SNARE TRAP!!! Kyle is freaking out and turning red but the fans are thunderous!! Kyle flails, reaches out, powers up, and he drags Jack along with him! Kyle is fading!! But then he gets a second wind to have a ROPEBREAK! Kyle survives by a fingertip! The fans still rally for Jack while he lets go in frustration. Jack rises, as does Kyle. Kyle fires a forearm, Jack fires back, repeat! They go forearm for forearm, shot for shot, and Jack fires a flurry! But Kyle BOOTS Jack! Jack SUPERKICKS! Kyle rebounds, Jack dodges, but Kyle dodges! SNAP HALF ‘N’ HALF!

Kyle runs to CALF KICK against ropes! And then a lift, for the LAST RI- SUNSET BOMB!! Jack turns that around in the blink of an eye! Jack reels Kyle in, and with one good leg, he lifts Kyle for a PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO?!!? Kyle survives and shocks everyone! The fans know “This is Awesome!” as both men rise up! Kyle stands, Jack says time for the- VICTORY ROLL! Kyle has Jack, TWO!! Jack ducks ‘n’ dodges to wheelbarrow and victory roll! TWO!! Jack runs up, Kyle dodges! COMEBACK- NO, Kyle LARIATS first!! Kyle puts Jack on the top rope, then climbs again. But Jack HEADBUTTS Kyle down!

It came down to the wire, but it is Kyle Fletcher who is on fire! He wins his last league play match, and he is LOCKED IN for the semifinals! Who from Gold League will join him when everyone still has a shot?

Backstage interview with Roderick Strong.

Renee Paquette is with the Savior of the Backbreaker, and she notes that while he’s mathematically eliminated, he can still play a huge spoiler to Claudio Castagnoli. She also wants to say that before Roddy has his match tonight, someone wants to speak with him. Roddy turns around to see Kyle O’Reilly! Kyle says Roddy knows how badly Kyle wanted to be in this tournament, but Roddy stepped in not just because they’re friends, but because they’re Ride Or Die. Kyle knows Roddy claims he’s doing this for himself, and if so, that’s fine, that’s great. Kyle just wants Roddy to ask, why does he see a shred of doubt in Roddy’s eyes?

Kyle knows Roddy has never doubted Kyle for a second. Even when Kyle’s been hurt, been discouraged, been broken, even when Kyle lost TWO PINTS of blood and yet somehow submitted Jon Moxley TWICE, with a bulging disk in his neck and a fractured arm! That Kyle O’Reilly would not exist without Roderick Strong. Roddy has pushed Kyle to be the wrestler, the father, the man that he is today, so forgive Kyle if he thinks it is okay to lean on his friends for support. Despite what Roddy thinks of The Conglomeration, they are his friends.

Now, listen, Kyle hasn’t told anyone else this, but if Roddy knew how close Kyle was to giving up in those matches with Moxley, Roddy would look at him the same way Kyle’s looking at Roddy now. It’s Christmas, Roddy, so it’s time for a Christmas Miracle. It doesn’t take a miracle for Roddy to beat Claudio, he could do that on his worst night. It will be a miracle when Roddy gets three points and walks backstage, a smile on his face, and he looks in the mirror to see the man that Kyle sees: Roderick F’N Strong! Kyle nods and lets Roddy prepare. Will Roddy be able to break the Swiss Cyborg and stop him from heading to World’s End?

Continental Classic Blue League: Konosuke Takeshita VS Mascara Dorada!

Compared to the Gold League, this block is about the two lead horses and seeing if anyone can rein them in! The Alpha has TEN points and a guaranteed spot in the semifinals, but will he be going in as the number one? Or will the King of the Ropes make him feel like number two?

The bell rings and the fans rally up as Dorada and Konosuke circle. The fans duel as the two tie up, and Konosuke headlocks. Konosuke snapmares but Dorada handsprings through! The fans cheer, Konosuke whips Dorada to ropes, but Dorada handsprings again! Konosuke sweeps the legs, rolls Dorada to his feet, but Dorada uses that to ARM-DRAG! Dorada kips up, the fans fire up, and they chant “LUCHA! LUCHA!” Dorada and Konosuke reset, tie up, and Dorada wrenches to wristlock. Konosuke wrenches through, wristlocks back, and headlocks. Konosuke spins to hammerlock, then he THROWS Dorada down by his mask!

The fans are torn, but Konosuke offers a hand. Dorada accepts, and the two shake to show there is still sportsmanship here. Dorada then RAMS Konosuke, runs, but Konosuke drops down, hurdles over, only for Dorada to flip over the dropdown! Dorada shoves, hurdles, but Konosuke rolls him up! Dorada rolls through to then ghost pin, TWO! Dorada kips up and the fans fire up again! Konosuke can’t help but smile, even he’s impressed with that. Dorada returns the favor by offering the hand, and Konosuke accepts. The fans cheer again, and then Konosuke CHOPS Dorada down! Konosuke then ROCKS Dorada to a corner.

Konosuke fires hands on Dorada in the corner, stomps him down, but stops as the ref reprimands. The fans rally, Konosuke drags Dorada up, but Dorada CHOPS! Dorada runs, RAMS Konosuke, but Dorada bounces off! Konosuke eggs Dorada on, Dorada runs and RAMS him, but still nothing! Dorada goes again, but Konosuke BOOTS him! Konosuke whips, Dorada reverses, and Dorada avoids the lariat to CHOP and KICK and knuckle lock! Dorada goes up, up, tightrope walks, but Konosuke breaks away! Dorada stays on the ropes! And he jumps back up to ARABIAN PRESS ARM-DRAG! Then he runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and tilt-o-whirl RANAS!

Konosuke tumbles out, the fans fire up, and Dorada goes to a corner! Dorada climbs, stands on the post itself, and SUPER CROSSBODIES, only for Konosuke to move! Dorada crashes into the railing and falls down! The fans fire up while Konosuke takes his time, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Konosuke goes over to Dorada, looms over him, then brings him up. Konosuke RAMS Dorada into railing, then lets him fall over. Dorada writhes, Konosuke refreshes the ring count, then stands Dorada up to scoop, and SNAKE EYES off railing! Dorada falls and writhes again, but Konosuke drags him up. Konosuke puts Dorada in the ring, takes a moment to soak up cheers and jeers, then goes into the ring to scuff Dorada. Konosuke has a cocky cover, ONE! Konosuke kicks Dorada around, then STANDING MOONSAULTS?! Cover, TWO! Dorada survives but who knew Konosuke could get up like that!

Konosuke drags Dorada up, shoves him to a corner, then ROCKS him with a forearm! And CHOPS him! And ROCKS him again! Konosuke CHOPS again, then brings Dorada out. Dorada KICKS, KICKS, and fires boxing elbows! But Konosuke snapmares and takes back control while Collision goes to break.

Christmas Collision returns as Dorada ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl, DEJA VU RANA! Konosuke tumbles, the fans fire up again, and Dorada hurries to the corner. Dorada goes up again, and from the post, ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Down goes Konosuke and the fans are thunderous! Dorada is fired up as the fans rally behind him, and Dorada gets Konosuke in the ring. Dorada goes back up, and 450 SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Konosuke survives, Dorada is a bit surprised, but the fans cheer the “C2! C2!” Dorada KICKS Konosuke, KICKS again, then ROCKS him! Dorada runs, but Konosuke reels him in! Back suplex, but Dorada lands out!

The fans fire up again as Dorada hurries corner to corner, GAMANGIRI! Dorada puts Konosuke up top, climbs, and he fires forearms! Dorada then rises, but Konosuke ROCKS him again and again! We just saw The Alpha solidify his spot as number one, but the Swiss Cyborg looks to stay right on his heels. Will Claudio also lock in for World’s End? Or will the Savior of the Backbreaker be the spoiler of the whole tournament?

The bell rings and the fans rally up already as the two stare down. Claudio then runs up to UPPERCUT Roddy down! Cover, TWO! Claudio reels Roddy in, Roddy trips to a jackknife, TWO! Roddy CHOPS, CHOPS, and ROCKS! Roddy fires off against the ropes, the fans fire up behind him, and Roddy stops at the ref’s count. Roddy runs up, but Claudio catches him and DUMPS him out! Roddy flounders, Claudio drags him up and to the corner! DEADLIFT SUPERPLEX! Cover, TWO! Roddy is tougher than that but Claudio gets moving! LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Claudio just keeps moving, BASEMENT UPPERCUT! Cover, TWO!

The fans fire up as Roddy stays in this, and Claudio argues the count! Roddy bails out, Claudio pursues, and Claudio whips Roddy into railing! Then UPPERCUTS him! Claudio storms upon Roddy, but Roddy hits an ANGLE SLAM! The fans fire up as Roddy is still fighting! Roddy goes to the corner, but Claudio UPPERCUTS! Claudio whips corner to corner, and UPPERCUTS! And he whips corner to corner again to UPPERCUT! And then back the other way, but Roddy BOOTS Claudio this time! And ENZIGIRI! And forearm! Roddy runs, but into a POP-UP- STRONG KNEE! Then another STRONG KNEE! Claudio staggers around, Roddy brings his kneepad down, BARE BONE STRONG KNEE!! Cover, RODDY WINS!!!

HE DID IT! Roddy ruins things for Claudio! But now Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta attack Roddy! The fans boo but typical Death Riders here, they beat up on Roddy! The Sussex County Chicken is armed with a hockey stick or something, and he chases the Death Riders off! Marina taunts Mark, but TONI STORM is here! She YANKS Marina down, and PEARL NECKLACE PUNCHES Marina!! The fans fire up for the Timeless One as she gets some timely revenge on The Problem!

The Death Riders keep Marina from going back after Toni, and the Death Riders retreat! Toni shakes hands with Mark! And being a gentlemen, Mark kisses the lady on the hand. Toni is rather flattered, then she poses and dances around. No semifinals for Claudio, but will the Death Riders make sure there’s no future for The Conglomeration and friends?

The clock is ticking on more than just the time limit. Kyle Fletcher got up in the block, but it is still do or die for the rest of the night. Will the Protostar be joined in the semifinals by the Bastard? Or can The Jet still take flight in the final moment?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. They tie up, are in a deadlock, but Pac slips around to waistlock. Knight switches, Pac switches back, and the fans again chant for “C2! C2!” as Knight drop toeholds. Knight floats to a facelock, Pac rises up, and Pac wristlocks. Knight rolls, handsprings, and WRINGS the arm to then drop a KNEE on it! Knight grinds Pac down and the fans cheer, but Pac rises up again. Knight wrenches and wristlocks, but Pac goes to the ROPEBREAK! Knight lets go and gives Pac space while the fans rally up. Pac shakes out the arm, ties up with Knight, and Pac puts Knight on the ropes.

The ref counts, Pac backs off, but Knight gets the arm to wrench it! And wrench it! And wrench, to then YANK the arm! Knight CLUBS and YANKS the arm, pushes on the shoulder, but Pac pulls hair and puts Knight on the ropes. The ref reprimands, Pac stops, but then he headlocks for a takeover. Knight rolls to a cover, ONE! The fans rally as Knight endures, fights up, and powers up and out. Pac RUNS Knight over, shakes his arm out, and the fans are torn. Pac runs, Knight drops down, so Pac handsprings over. Things speed up. Knight handsprings through the hip toss to arm-drag! The fans cheer as Knight brings Pac up, but Pac stops the arm-drag!

Pac drags Knight up, but Knight changes sides to arm-drag after all! Then he LARIATS Pac up and out! The fans fire up, Knight takes aim, PLANCHA, but Pac moves! Knight lands on his feet, then he hurries back into the ring. Pac paces on the outside to catch his breath, but Knight eggs him on. The fans fire up, Pac is annoyed, but Pac still takes his time returning. The count is 7 of 10, Pac steps in at 8. The fans rally as the two approach, and Pac kicks low. Pac bumps Knight off buckles, whips him hard corner to corner, and Knight slumps down. Pac bumps Knight off more buckles, then brings Knight around to bump off more buckles.

Pac CHOPS, but Knight turns things around to CHOP! Pac turns thigs back around to CHOP! Knight CHOPS again, but Pac fires forearms! Pac brings Knight around with a headlock, then makes him kneel, before he SMACKS Knight off the mat! The fans are torn while Pac seethes and looms over Knight. Pac eggs Knight on, talks trash to the fans, then slaps Knight around. Knight rises up to get face to face with Pac! The fans fire up, the forearms fly, and Knight gets the edge! Knight whips, Pac reverse, but Knight goes up and over to LEAPING LARIAT! The fans fire up, Knight LARIATS in the corner! Knight whips, Pac reverses, but Knight reverses back to TOSS Pac!

Knight aims to PLANCHA, but Pac dodges again! But then Knight dodges Pac, goes up, up, and LEAPING LARIATS! The fans fire up with Knight, then he drags Pac up. Bailey fires forearms, but Okada fires back!

The fans rally as the shots keep going back and forth! Okada fires a flurry, then UPPERCUTS Bailey down! The fans are torn, but Bailey is right back up! Bailey fires up and Okada dares him to take a free shot. Don Callis doesn’t like that, but Bailey KICKS Okada in the chest! And KICKS him again! And again! Okada falls over and the fans fire up! Bailey aims, THRUST KICK, MULE KICK, then whip! Okada reverses to DROPKICK Bailey down! Okada then ripcords, but Bailey jumps up! RANA, TWO! Okada sunset flips it, TWO! PENALTY KICK from Bailey! Then STANDING MOONSAULT KNEE DROP misses as Okada moves!

Okada hurries to ripcord again! RAIN- NO, Bailey ducks, goes to the apron, and he jumps over the slide to SPRINGBOARD TORNILLO!! The fans are thunderous and Callis admits that was impeccable timing! Bailey catches his breath while the ring count climbs, and the fans cheer “A E DUB! A E DUB!” Bailey hobbles over to Okada, puts him in the ring, “This is Awesome!” as Bailey now has Okada on the apron. We hit ten minutes, and Bailey sets up. But Okada kicks him away! Okada runs up, Bailey puts him in the ring, and Bailey GAMANGIRIS! Okada staggers, Bailey climbs, but Okada DROPKICKS Bailey to the floor!

The fans rally again while Bailey sputters. Okada slowly rolls out after Bailey, and he brings Bailey up for a gut wrench! But Bailey squirms free to waistlock. Okada fires elbows, Bailey ducks one, and BACKDROP! Okada sunset flips, but Bailey breaks free, MOONSAULT KNEE-DROP on the ramp! Okada coughs and sputters while the fans fire up again! Bailey rolls into the ring, then he watches Okada rise. Okada stands at 7 of 10, slides in at 8, but into the TIME ADVENTURE!! Cover, TWO!! Okada survives and he rolls way, but Bailey keeps after him. Bailey puts Okada up top, tucks Okada in, but Okada CLUBS away!

Bailey GAMANGIRIS Okada, then goes up after him! The fans rally and sing, but Okada DECKS Bailey! Bailey roars as he rises again! The fans fire up as Bailey climbs! But Okada fires more forearms! Bailey shakes his head, but Okada DECKS him again! Bailey falls hard with legs stuck in the ropes! The ref checks Bailey, and Bailey manages to reach up. But Okada stomps away on Bailey! Bailey still tries, but Okada just stomps him again and again! The fans fire up as Okada stomps and stomps while Bailey powers up! Bailey flips Okada off and the fans are thunderous! Bailey HEADBUTTS Okada, then stands on the very top!

Bailey brings Okada up, stares him down, then SUPER DUPER STEINERS! Okada is down, Bailey goes up, ULTIMO WEAPON!! Okada flounders, Bailey scrambles after him, and Okada rolls out just in time! The fans boo but Callis says that is a ring general! The fans chant, “You’re a Bitch!” The ring count climbs, and Bailey decides to go out at 6 of 10. Bailey storms up on Okada, rains down forearms, and the fans fire up again! Bailey drags Okada up, puts him in the ring, and the fans rally as hard as they can for Bailey. Bailey waits on Okada, but Okada doesn’t move. Bailey scuffs Okada, and we hit the five minute warning.

Bailey kicks Okada and Okada scowls. Bailey drags Okada up, but Okada turns things around, BACKSLIDE! Roll through, SHORT ARM LARIAT!! Okada holds onto the wrist, short arm- NO, Bailey BOOTS then THRUST KICKS! DREAMCAST KICK in the corner! Okada is down, Bailey is up, and ULTIMO WEAPON AGAIN!! Cover, TWO?!?! Okada survives on grit alone, but Bailey puts him up top! Tuck and FLAMINGO- NO, Okada pops free! Ripcord and- NO, Bailey ducks, roll-up into ropes and those rebound things back, Bailey has a high stack, TWO!!! Okada escapes, ducks a kick, then ripcords! RAIN- NO, Bailey ducks again!

Bailey wrenches the arms, reels Okada in with a straitjacket, but Okada BACKDROPS Bailey! Bailey sunset flips, but Okada sits on the cover! OKADA WINS!!!

Bailey is as shocked as anyone, but now Okada is heading to the semifinals! And as it stands, those semifinals will be Kyle Fletcher VS Jon Moxley and Kazuchika Okada VS Konosuke Takeshita! And speaking of, The Alpha makes his way out here to join Okada and Callis! The fans fire up seeing IWGP World Heavyweight Champion stare down with AEW International Champion, belts held high! But at World’s End, there can only be one AEW Continental Champion! Who proves they are truly the greatest tournament wrestler ever?

My Thoughts:

A great Christmas Collision recorded last Sunday, and certainly a go-home with video packages I skipped because they didn’t add anything new. And Stokely’s promo could’ve probably just been played on Dynamite but whatever, guess they needed to fill 2.5 hours somehow. Gabe and Darby having their promo was a bit better in establishing we’re getting their match, with it building off what happened on Dynamite. But maybe they could’ve kept us in suspense for Darby to show up at World’s End as a surprise. Though, wouldn’t that be redundant from last time when Darby was all bandaged up and “busted out of the hospital?” Either way, I think Darby wins to get his revenge, and then maybe Darby moves on towards a title in the New Year.

Great tag match from Babes of Wrath VS Hyan & Maya, far more than just a tune-up. But with that, great win from Willow & Harley, and a great promo to hype up the tag title match with Mercedes & Athena. Again, I really hope the Babes retain, and then maybe we can see some Mone VS Athena in the New Year. And while the Continental Classic was the focus of tonight, I liked what they gave us in setting up the “Mixed Nuts Mayhem” 8 Person Tag. Great promo from Kyle O’Reilly to encourage Roddy, and an awesome match of Roddy VS Claudio. That 8 Person tag is going to be a lot of fun, and who knows who wins that.

All the other matches were just as awesome, if not more so. As I figured, the Don Callis Family members are all in, with solid wins for Fletcher over Perry, Konosuke over Dorada, and Okada over Bailey in the main event. But I do appreciate they put on the pressure all through the show. I misjudged who was getting in as the fourth man, forgetting who was in what block. And either way, I’m really surprised they’re giving us Okada VS Takeshita in the semifinal and not THE final, but I wonder how the math would have to go to have given us Okada VS Fletcher and Moxley VS Takeshita… As it stands, I feel like someone other than Okada should win the Continental Championship, and Fletcher winning would be wild because then he, Okada and Takeshita are all champions again.
