Mitchell’s Hyrule Puro-Resu News Report! (12/31/25)
We’re all mad here!
A very merry un-birthday to you!
HyruleMania 6 is just moments away, and excitement is in the air! But HPW first looks back at how the stars aligned at the mountaintop!
Year One
The inaugural Triforce Tournament: Ganondorf Dragmire wins the Bracket of Power; Sheik, who would be later revealed as Princess Zelda, wins the Bracket of Wisdom; and the “Kakariko Kid,” Link, wins the Bracket of Courage. Link would win the Triple Threat Finals and the HPW Triforce Championship, but Zelda herself would revolutionize how Hyrule does pro-wrestling, compelling management to make the world title an Open Division. However, the inaugural reign would only last until the Summer, with Ganondorf taking the title at the inaugural Treasure Island. But again, Zelda would be there to win the inaugural Eventide Challenge.
Zelda would challenge for the Triforce Championship at the inaugural Clash of Fates, and despite a heroic effort, she would fail to dethrone Ganondorf. But on the flipside, Link would win the inaugural Hyrule Warriors battle royal, creating the rematch of Link VS Ganon at the inaugural HyruleMania. A truly epic battle, and the Hero of Hyrule would dethrone the villain and truly reign in the New Year.
Year Two
There was a bit of a farce with the trio of Hilda, Yuga & Ravio helping each other through the Triforce Tournament, but it didn’t help them in the end as they would never take the Triforce Championship, even with Ravio winning the Hyrule Warriors match. Hilda would even fail to take the HPW Goddess Championship from Zelda as Zelda would then go on to reign from HyruleMania to HyruleMania 2. Ganon would meanwhile lurk in the shadows, targeting the HPW World Trios Championships to add to his résumé.
Year Three
A shadow was cast on the Triforce Tournament as Link’s long lost twin brother, Kage, would be brought to HPW by The Dark Forces. Kage would win the Triforce Tournament, but his title match would become a Triple Threat because of Hollywood ReDead getting involved. But perhaps that was to Kage’s benefit, for he wins the title at the Spectacular Spectacle. The Hero’s Shadow would defeat the Termina Championship Wrestling legend, Onox, at Terminal Velocity, then battled Fin Balure in Winner Takes All on Treasure Island. A disqualification would make it so neither man lost their title, but Kage’s rage was still unleashed.
Link would make a triumphant return and go after his blood brother, only to be forced to shed blood at Clash of Fates. Link could not go to as dark a place as Kage, and he would lose out on a title reign. Kage would make it through HyruleMania and a battle with Igos du Ikana, and he even created a blackout version of the belt. And again, in the background, Zelda would complete a second year as Goddess Champion while Ganondorf would shorten his name and take the Termina Championship.
Year Four
Link would not be deterred, but he would be denied, for Skull Kid would win the Triforce Tournament under Majora’s influence! The Triforce Anniversary would also see Zelda lose the Goddess Championship to Midna, and she would be aimless for a time. Skull Kid would fail to dethrone Kage at ThunderStruck, but Majora would make his own presence known by winning over Link, Zelda & Fin, only to lose at Termina Velocity. Termina Velocity’s Beat the Clock Challenge would send Zelda to Treasure Island, but even she would be another name on the list of victories for Kage. Ganon’s Termina Championship reign would also be dominant, overcoming Onox, Shale Dug-In, and Hinox.
Clash of Fates would see Link win the Hyrule Warriors match once again, and at HyruleMania 4, both original and shadowy Triforce Championships would be put aside to crown the first UNDISPUTED Triforce World Champion. Link would overcome the darkness and hate of his brother to reign as a THREE-TIME Triforce World Champion.
Year Five
Zelda fell short of Death Mountain at HyruleMania 4, and would try to win the Triforce Tournament, only to lose to Aveil in the Bracket of Wisdom finals. But Aveil and Riju would both lose to Yunobo, who would then be manipulated by the Arrow Club (and a magical mask). Link would prevail multiple times, from ThunderStruck to Wrestling Is Life and eventually The Clash of Fates. Ganon would continue to dominate as Termina Champion, even defeating Majora in HPW’s first Carnival of Time match. We would revisit Link VS Kage on Treasure Island, and Link would best his brother one more time.
Clash of Fates would escalate controversy to a new level. Ganon would finally lose that Termina Championship, but he would then force his way into the Hyrule Warriors match. He and Zelda would battle to a draw, sending them both to HyruleMania 5. It was an epic Triple Threat to revisit the beginning of this story, but history would repeat itself as Link stood triumphant.
Year Six
Just because things came full circle doesn’t mean things end. While Ganon would finally win the Triforce Tournament, Zelda would jump the line and ask Link to give her a fair match 1v1. And in the end, Zelda would finish her story and finally become Undisputed Triforce World Champion! Zelda would defeat Ganon at Wrestling Is Life, but Ganon would win another chance at ThunderStruck. Kage would also win his own way back through Beat the Clock, but also by physically bullying King Nicholas Foolyere. It was another Triple Threat for the Triforce World Championship on Treasure Island, and Zelda would prevail.
Zelda would then face Sidon in a battle of second generational stars for Clash of Fates while the Hyrule Warriors match would end in controversy, again! Link, Kage, and Ganon would be the last three left, only for them all to be eliminated at the same time! The plan was for them to fight it out at Fyter Feast, but along with the rising storm that was Majora & The Faces of Evil battling with Yunobo, Sidon, Thunderbird, Riju, Ladrona & Donny B. Kool, there could be no clear winner. So in the end, the only conclusion would be that ALL FOUR pillars of HPW would battle to finally decide who is the greatest of them all!
My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that. So with stakes so high, who will run fastest, run farthest, run longest, run hardest towards the true mountaintop of the industry?
