Christopher Daniels talks with Top Flight.

The Fallen Angel tells Darius & Dante Martin, “I’ve known from day one that you are one of the most talented tag teams in all of professional wrestling. And that’s why I invited you to become part of SkyFlight when we started it all. But it seems the world of professional wrestling is taking you for granted. They seem to have forgotten how damn talented you both really are. And it’s time to change that. And I think we should change that by making some challenges in this company.

“For example, Sammy Guevara & Beast Mortos are the current ROH World Tag Team Champions, but I don’t see you gentlemen defending those championships often enough, or against top caliber talent like these men. So I suggest, I propose, I humbly offer, your next challengers, Sammy & Beast Mortos. I call ’em Top Flight and I call ’em the next tag team champions.” Dante steps up to say that when Sammy first showed up in AEW, he was supposed to be a Pillar. But everything he’s done since has proven otherwise. Sammy is an embarrassment to those titles! Top Flight represents doing everything the right way, the hard way!

Darius says what they’re really saying is that you can consider Top Flight as the alarm clock this Tag Division needs, because they’ve all been sleeping on them for way too long, and it is time to wake up. Sammy, Beast, step up or take flight. When and where will La Faccion Ingobernable answer the call?

MPX Women’s Championship: Abadon VS Ray Lyn!

The Living Dead Girl not only returns to ROH, but returns as part of this historic crossover, while also defending a title! But will Abadon’s reign of terror continue? Or will “The Miley Cyrus Of Professional Wrestling” come in like a wrecking ball and take the title?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who parties in the USA!

Then ROUNDHOUSE! Abadon falls, Ray covers, TWO! Ray is frustrated already but she drags Abadon up. Abadon fires body shots, ROCKS Ray, then ducks the kick! But Ray sweeps the legs! Ray mocks the fans cheering Abadon on and ties up the legs.

The ref counts, Ray lets go, and she runs up on Abadon. Abadon ELBOWS Ray, BOOTS her, then LARIATS! And LARIATS! The fans fire up as Abadon ducks ‘n’ spins Ray, but Ray denies the cravat! Abadon comes back to still get a BLACKHOLE SLAM! Cover, TWO! Ray survives and Abadon is shocked! The fans rally up as Abadon clinches Ray, but the bad leg affects the stance! Ray rolls Abadon up, TWO! Abadon hurries but Ray BOOTS first! Ray then hooks a leg, FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!

Not quite perfect but the fans fire up all the same. Ray brings Abadon back around, but Abadon wrenches out to clinch, FLATLINER! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall (still MPX Women’s Champion)

With a shriek of victory, Abadon holds up the belt but also clutches that leg. Can the Living Dead Girl keep this up? Or will someone bring an end to the reign of terror one way or another?

ROH Pure Championship Proving Grounds: Lee Moriarty VS Exodus Prime!

#TAIGASTYLE has been showing his opponents respect, but STP? Not so much. But will Moriarty be able to end this one in under ten minutes? Or will “The Final Boss” prove worthy of that golden ticket?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and we are on the clock. The fans rally up as Lee and Exodus circle. They tie up, Lee headlocks and hits a takeover, but Exodus headscissors. Lee kips free and the fans cheer the standoff. They reset, feel things out, and tie up. Exodus slips around to hammerlock and he puts on the pressure. Lee switches but Exodus switches it back around. Lee reaches back to headlock, chinbar, then step over for that IRON OCTOPUS!

Exodus endures, drops down, rolls, and ROPEBREAK! That is his first at just over a minute and Lee makes sure Exodus knows that. The two reset, knuckle lock, then Lee rolls to kick one apart. Lee wrenches the other arm and CLUBS it! Exodus goes to a corner but Lee winds up to CHOP! The fans rally up and Lee whips corner to corner. Exodus reverses, Lee goes up, but into an atomic drop! The fans are torn but Exodus his a SAIDO! The fans cheer and Exodus runs up, but Lee puts him on the apron! Exodus blocks a punch to GAMANGIRI Lee down! KNEE-BOARD SENTON! Cover, ONE!! Lee is tougher than that but Exodus smirks.

Exodus stomps Lee, CHOPS Lee, and the fans “WOO~!” Exodus stands Lee against the ropes to CHOP! Exodus whips, Lee drops, but Exodus gets back before a leg pick! Exodus runs up again, but into a BUCKLE SHOT! Cover, TWO! Exodus stays in this, and there’s still seven minutes left. Lee fires KNEES, then DOUBLE KNEES Exodus down! Lee strikes a fighting pose and the fans applaud. Lee pushes Exodus to a cover, ONE! The fans rally but Lee cravats for a neck wrench. Exodus endures, the fans rally, but Lee wrenches to hook a leg and roll Exodus into a GROUND OCTOPUS! Exodus endures, reaches out, ROPEBREAK!

Lee lets go as that is Exodus’ second. And Lee BOOT WASHES Exodus to the apron! Lee drags Exodus back in, tucks the arms, TIGER- NO, Exodus flips free! Exodus ducks a chop to ENZIGIRI! Lee staggers away to a corner while the fans fire up! Exodus runs corner to corner, LARIAT! ELBOW! GAMANGIRI! Then a snapmare and Exodus goes up, FLYING UPPERCUT! The fans fire up again and Exodus is feeling it. Exodus half nelsons, but Lee uses the British Escape to stop the full nelson! So Exodus HADOUKENS to the back! FULL NELSON BACK2BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Innovative, but not enough to put Lee away!

Exodus hurries as we’re under five minutes. Lee jackknife bridges, TWO! Lee BOOTS Exodus, runs, but into a POP-UP POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO! But Exodus has the legs for a BOSTON CRAB! Exodus ducks a kick, but not the ENZIGIRI! Lee reels Exodus in, underhook, TIGER SIDESLAM! Cover, Lee wins!

Winner: Lee Moriarty, by pinfall (denies Exodus Prime a title opportunity)

With three minutes and 35 seconds to go, Lee busts out a new trick to seal the deal! Lee shows respect to Exodus, and no attack by STP, seems the respect him, too. But will nothing stop #TAIGASTYLE from being an untouchable ROH Pure Champion?

Mark Sterling meets with The Swirl.

Smart Mark lets Blake Christian & Lee Johnson know that they have the cameras here as he makes this huge proposition. But then Sterling has The Premier Athletes step in, and both Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari don’t like meeting with Vanilla Baby & Big Shotty. Sterling says this is a mediation session. We all know that Blake has a long-standing grudge with Bandido. We also know Mascara Dorada cheated to beat Nese. AND, let’s all be real here, they’re all sick and tired of the CMLL luchadores trying to take over ROH. And it cannot be unsaid that these four looked great together beating up Priest & Billington.

So here’s the offer: These four should all team up to take care of their lucha problem once and for all. Blake asks if Stori Denali will be there. Yes, wherever Sterling goes, Stori follows. Then The Swirl is in. They shake hands with Sterling, Sterling says this went very well, but as The Swirl leaves, Nese & Daivari want this properly explained. Sterling says The Swirl are great up-and-comers, this will benefit them all. Then will this Premier Swirl soon sour the mood of Bandido, Dorada, and their amigos? Or will Nese, Daivari, Christian & Johnson be the ones tasting bitter defeat?

A historic night presents an amazing opportunity as this young champion makes his ROH debut while defending his title! But will Mr. DC get a Texas sized win in Arlington? Or will Griffey prove he is #Flawless?

Winner: JD Griffey, by pinfall (NEW MPX Champion)

It may not be an upset, but the fans are upset that #ShadyJD found a way to snatch this title from Cavens! Will Griffey make sure his reign is truly flawless?

Six Woman Tag: Athena, Billie Starkz & Diamante VS Deonna Purrazzo, Hyan & Maya World!

The Fallen Goddess and her Minions beat down on the Lonestar Cowgirls last week, then dared them to find a partner so they could have a fair fight. And wouldn’t you know? The ROH Women’s Pure Champion stepped up! Will the Virtuosa help The Renaissance Woman & #ThatGirl get even with the bullies? Or will the Forever ROH Women’s World Champion show everyone why BOTH ROH and MPX belong to her?

The trios sort out and the fans cheer Athena on, so clearly Texas belongs to her. Athena steps up, but then the fans cheer on Maya as she steps up! Billie tells the fans to shut up while Athena and Maya keep the Code of Honor. The bell rings, Maya and Athena circle, and the fans duel. Athena scrambles away and Deonna dismisses her. Billie tags in, runs up, but Deonna wrenches and short arm LARIAT! And short arm LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Tag to Hyan, and they DOUBLE SUPLEX Billie! Hyan covers, TWO!

The fans rally while Diamante coaches Billie. Hyan brings Billie up but Billie KNEES low. Billie whips Hyan, Maya tags in, and Hyan gator rolls Billie for the suplex! Diamante then WRECKS Maya with a dropkick, and Billie adds a SWANTON! Billie puts Maya in the ring for Diamante to kick low, hop on, and CODE RED!

Diamante fires up and has the legs, but Maya kicks at her! Maya backstrokes but Diamante focuses on an ANKLE LOCK! Maya still has the ROPEBREAK! Diamante lets go and stomps a mudhole in! Billie is shocked and Athena is furious! Diamante tries to keep the peace, but MIT still lost big in this crossover main event! Will the Fallen Goddess just have to accept that we live in Maya’s world now?

My Thoughts:

A great ROH, especially as a crossover special with MPX. Great card where really, that match of Bill & Keith VS “Surf & Turf” was the only filler. And even then, Braddah Kaimi & Phil Shark are a fun team, but of course they lost to Bill & Keith ahead of their Parking Lot Brawl for Collision. Great Mixed 8 Tag to open, great showing for the MPX stars, but of course STP won. And Christyan XO even got to fulfill her role as new source of interference. We even got some good promos to set up things for next week, aka ROH in Vegas. Top Flight calling out LFI was a good promo, and that’ll be a great tag title match, but I would think Sammy & Mortos win since they haven’t done jack and need to prove themselves as champions.

The Premier Athletes making a deal with The Swirl was interesting, so much for that Six Man Tag I thought would lead to Blake VS Bandido. It can still happen with this 8 Man Tag, but it’s certainly outside the box. Maybe Bandido VS Blake can be made for Revolution, as fans really like Bandido and would want to see him on an AEW program again. Great Proving Grounds matches, but naturally Velvet and Moriarty won out. ROH really needs to do more special episodes to start the year since there is just nothing while we wait for AEW Revolution. The ROH PPV schedule has been moved around a lot, too, they need to lock in and say “Supercard is ALWAYS here,” etc.

Great MPX title matches, with Abadon winning a great MPX Women’s Championship against Ray Lyn. I did not think they’d do a status quo change on ROH so that was quite the surprise for Griffey to win. Perhaps MPX wants Cavens and other Faces to chase Griffey going towards their own major shows in the Spring. And then a very good Six Woman Tag main event, with not only a great win for the Faces but also for Maya World. Maya & Hyan could get into the tag title story, but Maya could even find herself going back for an ROH title, such as THE Women’s World Championship. I still think there’s a lot to get out of Athena VS Deonna, one time for the Pure title, the other time for the world title.

My Score: 8.8/10

Cap arrives to the arena as he says, “Usually every time you see me, I’m in a good mood, but guess what? I woke up and I’m not in a good mood today. Brooks Jensen, when you hit me with that cowbell, you woke me up and brought a flavor out of me nobody’s ever seen. So tonight, this one is personal. It’s the first ever Bull Rope Match of my career, and you best believe I’m gonna savor that flavor.”

Brooks Jensen also walks ‘n’ talks.

The Lost Cause is already in the bowels of the arena as he says, “Tonight, there is no coffee pun, no escape. The both of us, tied to an unforgiving bull rope with a chunk of steel in the middle. There is no fun tonight, but there is one thing, and that is pain on you, Cappuccino Jones! Courtesy of the Bad Man who hails from Ala-Bam-Bam-Bam-Bama, Brooks Jensen!” Both men are heated, but who gets burned when this one starts to overflow?

Wendy Choo is here!

The fans cheer the NEW WWE Evolve Women’s Champion! She holds up the belt and smiles from cheek to cheek as she goes to the ring. The fans cheer “Wendy~! Wendy~!” as she steps inside, and again holds up the belt in the spotlight. Wendy gets the mic to say, “Bro…! Who woulda thought? I can’t believe it!” The fans cheer, and Wendy says just a few months ago, she was in therapy, trying to find out who she was. And then, she still didn’t find it. But last week, she definitely found herself, because she was the survivor of the Gauntlet Eliminator and became your Evolve Women’s Champion! The fans cheer that, too!

Wendy says to call her #ChampChoo. The fans chant “CHAMP CHOO! CHAMP CHOO!” Wendy says in all seriousness, this is where the work truly begins. And she’s gonna be honest, that women’s locker room is hungrier than ever. She will keep her promise to be a fighting champion. And so, she spoke with Foreman Thatcher, and they agreed that Wendy gets to choose her very first opponent. And she’ll choose someone special. She wants someone who had a very similar path as hers. Someone who has been grinding on the indies for over a decade! Someone who has worked their behind off just to step into a WWE ring.

Wendy wants her very first opponent to be Laynie Luck! And with that, the WWE Women’s ID Champion makes her way out! The fans cheer as Laynie is shocked and excited! She jumps into the ring, gets herself a mic, and says first of all, congrats. Wendy has earned this! And not to lie, she’s shocked, taken by surprise, but mostly, she is honored. Laynie is honored, because Wendy’s first defense? That’s huge! And maybe Laynie’s luck is turning around. Because after getting betrayed by Sloane Jacobs and eliminated from the Gauntlet Eliminator, she didn’t think she’d get an opportunity any time soon! Let alone- Wait, Nikkita Lyons is interrupting!

The fans are torn as #BigKatKita has a mic already to say okay, enough with the luck and the opportunities! Rawr. Wendy, you got lucky last week by beating Lyons with a roll-up. Lyons literally beat Tyra, Kali AND PJ in one match. So if anybody should be the first challenger, it should be none other than Big Kat Kita~! Now, she’s been doing some deep diving meditation in the grass, receiving divine messages, cuz y’know, she’s a #DivineFeline, and both Wendy and Laynie are outta luck. Wait, now Sloane Jacobs is interrupting! But she just CLOBBERS Laynie from outta nowhere! Lyons DECKS Wendy, and the fans boo as the beatdown commences!

Sloane stands Laynie up while Wendy shoves Lyons away. Laynie dodges a shot, she ROLLING ELBOWS Sloane while Wendy ROCKS Lyons! Lyons rebounds, but Wendy ducks a kick, and with Laynie, they DOUBLE SUPERKICK Lyons! Sloane stands up, only for Laynie & Wendy to DOUBLE LARIAT her up and out! The fans cheer as Wendy & Laynie stand tall! Will they have to clear out their common enemies before they can have their title match?

Romeo Moreno speaks.

“Wrestling is not just a sport, not just a competition. Wrestling is art. Like any artist, I seek inspiration when I enter the ring. I’m gonna create moments. I’m gonna create opportunities. I’m gonna create my legacy. Creating like this in my own way, with my own style, freestyle, a style that honors my Spanish culture. Everything of mine remains in its purest form, and creates like no one has created. My name is Romeo Moreno, and Evolve is my canvas, because yes, it can be done!” What masterpiece will Moreno create now that he’s ready to Evolve?

Kam Hendrix & Harley Riggins VS Tate Wilder & Luca Crusifino!

While Team PC may be no more, the remnants still think they’re the big men on campus. But will Showtime and Gnarly Harley continue to bully and beat down the Modern Day Cowboy and this new “good vibes” side of the Legal Eagle? Or will Evolve be both Wilder and “Crusing” at the same time?

Well speaking of wild, Wilder & Luca attack Kam & Harley! The fans fire up as they get their payback already! Luca stomps Harley, Wilder CLUBS and KNEES Kam, but Kam hits back! The ref reprimands, but Harley TOSSES Luca into the ring! Harley & Kam mug Tate, whip him at the ring, but Luca is there to give Tate the push back for a DOUBLE LARIAT! Then Luca builds speed, Tate opens the way, and Luca DIVES! Down goes Kam, but then Tate ASAI MOONSAULTS Harley! The fans fire up but more refs rush out here, and even producers! Luca stomps away on Kam, fans want to “Let Them Fight!” and Tate puts Harley in the ring.

The fans fire up as the bell rings, and Tate LARIATS Harley in a corner! Then whips him back in, runs, and LEAPING LARIATS! The fans fire up while Tate covers, TWO! Tate keeps Harley down while Evolve goes to break.

Evolve returns as Kam argues with Luca, the ref has Luca back off, but this lets Harley SHOVE Tate into Kam’s sucker punch! Then Harley CLOBBERS Tate! The fans boo, but Kam drags Tate into the corner, and Harley fires off fists and stomps! The fans boo, but Kam & Hendrix get away with it. Kam tags in, he and Harley mug Tate again, but Kam stops as the ref counts. Kam tags Harley back in, and the mugging continues. Harley brings Tate around, whips him to ropes, then CLUBS him on the back! Tate hobbles away but Harley brings him around for a whip into the corner. Harley UPPERCUTS Tate, tags Kam, and Harley feeds Tate to the LARIAT!

Harley runs to add a basement DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Kam stomps Tate for toughing it out, then CLUBS him down! Kam CLUBS Tate again, then watches him stagger around. Tate SHOVES Kam down! Kam comes back to CLOBBER Tate! Kam rains down fists, stomps him, then snarls. The fans boo but Kam stands Tate up. Kam BLINDSIDE LARIATS! Kam SLAPS Luca, too! The fans boo but Kam drags Tate up. Kam talks more trash, then winds up, but Tate ducks! Then Tate BLINDSIDE LARIATS Kam! The fans fire up while both men crawl! Hot tag to Harley, then he THROWS Tate down! The fans boo but Luca avoids a cheap shot.

Harley talks trash, “This is MY house!” Harley clamps onto Tate, grinds him down, then stomps him. Harley goes back to the chinlock but the fans rally for Tate. Tate fights up, but Harley THROWS him down! Harley talks trash again, then kicks Tate around. Harley clamps on, squeezes tight, and he grinds Tate down. Tate endures, fights up, and the fans rally as Tate rises up. Tate fires body shots, but Harley grinds the bad arm! The fans rally as Tate endures again. Tate fights up, even as Harley puts on the pressure. Tate fires forearms, reaches out, and repeat, but Kam YANKS Luca down! Tate DECKS Harley, but has no tag!

Harley CLOBBERS Tate again! The fans boo but Harley rains down fists! Harley tags Kam, but Tate fires body shots! Kam CLUBS Tate, brings him around, then scoops, but Tate slips free! Kam blocks the roll-up to drop a leg on the arm! Kam scoops and SLAMS Tate, then roars! The fans boo but Kam tags Harley. Harley wags his finger, brings Tate up, and scoops for another SLAM! Harley is having fun, and he tags Kam back in. Kam & Harley aim from the corners, then runs up, but Tate dodges! DOUBLE CROSSBODIES take Kam & Harley down! The fans fire up as Tate dodges them both, hot tag to Luca!

The fans fire up as Luca fires haymakers on Harley & Kam! UPPERCUT in a corner, UPPERCUT in another, and repeat! Luca rolls, mocks Kam’s pose, then CLOBBERS him! The fans fire up as Luca gives Harley a CODE BREAKAER! But Kam hits the SHOWTIME KICK! Kam then runs up to LARIAT in the corner! And LARIAT again! Tate sneaks the tag as Kam comes back, Luca SUPERKICKS! Tate is up top, WILD RIDE MOONSAULT! Cover, Harley breaks it! Luca BOOTS Harley, then runs up, but Harley TOSSES Luca up and out! Kam tags Harley, but Tate dodges to DECK Harley! And CLOBBER him!

Tate ducks ‘n’ dodges to CLOBBER Harley again! The fans fire up as Tate wrenches and facelocks, but Harley fights the suplex! Harley wrenches and RIDGE HANDS Tate! Tag back to Kam, DOUBLE BACK- NO, Tate lands out! Luca sneaks the tag, Tate kicks Harley while Luca SLINGSHOT TACKLES Kam! Tate has Harley in the ropes, but the ref separates them! Harley HOTSHOTS Luca! Kam hits the LIGHTS, KAMERA, ACTION!! Cover, Harley & Kam win!

Winners: Kam Hendrix & Harley Riggins, by pinfall

They may be bullies, but they’re also a team, unified in attitude and style. Will Kam & Harley continue to do what they want to who they want and when they want? Or can Tate & Luca find a way to evolve their teamwork?

Harlem Lewis speaks.

“It’s been clear since the moment I came back to Evolve that there’s one goal, one target: The Evolve Championship. And it didn’t if it was Jackson Drake and it doesn’t matter now that it’s Aaron Rourke. See, Aaron, I’ve got nothing bad to say about you. You’ve shown perseverance, you’ve overcome a lot just to become a champion. But my path to the Evolve Championship has never been a direct line. But now Braxton Cole has forced his way into this match, so next week, it’ll be a Triple Threat. And Braxton just tells me everything I need to know about you. You’re privileged, you’re used to getting whatever you want.

“But you can’t talk your way into winning the championship, and you can’t buy your way into winning the title. See, people like you, they just set something off in me I can barely control. I grew up with a single mom working 14 hour shifts, just to keep the lights on. I grew up raising my two little brothers, making sure that they were fed, walking them to school, putting clothes on their bodies. I was mopping flows and mowing laws, just to help my family survive. But that’s something you wouldn’t know about. Maybe that’s why sometimes I come off a little bit aggressive. But it’s what fuels me. I have to be champion.

“Next week, since it’s a Triple Threat, I’ve got two chances to win, I’ve got two targets, and when the bell rings, everyone will here, ‘And NEW…'” Will the Long Island Jackhammer break through to that next level and bring home the gold?

Kali Armstrong VS Layla Diggs w/ Masyn Holiday!

The Pride of Inglewood fell short in the Gauntlet Eliminator, but she’s looking to shift gears and pick up speed. Will there be another Kali Connection on the way back to the title? Or will Layla dig deep and win against the inaugural WWE Evolve Women’s Champion?

The bell rings and Kali rushes Layla! Kali picks Layla up but Layla manages to sunset flip through! Kali stays up, then drops down on Layla for ground ‘n’ pound! Masyn coaches Layla but Kali tells her to shut up. Kali THROWS Layla to a corner, RAMS her again and again, then backs off to build speed! Kali RAMS Layla again! The fans fire up while Kali eggs Layla on. Kali then runs Around the World to BOOT WASH! Cover, TWO! Kali JABS Layla, JABS again, then winds up, but Layla ducks under to roll Kali up! TWO, but Layla rolls Kali with a bridge, TWO! Kali swings, Layla handsprings through and PELES! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally up as Layla ELBOW DROPS then LEG DROPS! Layla drags Kali into place, goes up the corner, and MOONSAULTS, but onto knees! Kali turns things around and fires up! Kali builds up speed, KALI CONNECTION!! Cover, Kali wins!

Winners: Kali Armstrong, by pinfall

Layla tried but she could not keep up with the track star! Kali then gets a mic to call out Tyra Mae Steele! She knows Tyra’s back there! Get out here! The fans cheer as Miss America shows up! Tyra says if Kali’s got something to say, say it to her face! Thatcher storms out here and shouts that we are NOT doing this like this! There’s already been pandemonium out here, we don’t need more refs rushing out here, their job’s hard enough as it is. And these two are better anyway. The fans want to “Let Them Fight!” but Thatcher says no! Tyra and Kali are world class athletes, they’re better than this, so they’ll do this in a proper match, next week!

The fans cheer, because at least it means this is happening! Will Kali or Tyra prove they are the true alpha female of Evolve?

Braxton Cole speaks.

“Harlem Lewis is set off because he thinks that I am privileged. I wouldn’t call it privileged. Yeah, I grew up eating lobster, wore designer brands, and went to the best private schools in the country. And sure, I had a driver who’d drive me to school, and when I didn’t want him anymore, I had a brand new car sitting in my driveway for me. But when you live like this, there are expectations that you are supposed to live up to. And where Harlem Lewis is from, well, no one is expected to do anything special. Harlem’s claim fame is that he got signed to a WWE contract. Beyond that is simply just a bonus for him.

“I got signed with the expectation that I am supposed to be one of the biggest superstars of the next generation. Anything less than success from me is a failure, and that is the Ivy League standard of excellence, a different kind of pressure. One that I know Harlem Lewis doesn’t understand. Honestly, Aaron Rourke, too. I am what makes the perfect superstar: The body, the athleticism, the charisma, the intelligence. I am the one that will be on the banner of WrestleMania one day. And that is exactly why I will become the Evolve Champion next week.”

Tate Wilder speaks.

“Kam and Harley, tonight was not the exclamation point you thought it was, and this is far from over. I guess I should put this on myself, because I should’ve known that you two would avoid at all costs going chin up with your opponents. You guys just think you’re above everyone. Let’s check some recent history: You pick a fight with the ID guys, and your first instinct was to what? Sneak attack them and lay them out? And just because I don’t help you cheat to win as special guest referee, I’m your next victim? You knock me off my bike? You attack me and Luca before we have our match? You guys are just some real blue chip athletes, aren’t ya?

“If you guys are just so scared, why don’t you just admit it? I think it’s because deep down, you know that when I get my hands on you fairly, I’m gonna whoop your ass, both of you. I’m gonna keep my head on a swivel. Damn sure you two better do the same, cuz this ain’t over until I say it is.”

Aaron Rourke speaks.

“Everyone is talk talk talking about when I put my WWE Evolve Championship against Harlem Lewis and Braxton Cole in a Triple Threat match. Harlem Lewis talks about his anger and where he came from, and Braxton Cole talks about the pressure that comes with privilege. Oh, please. They think they have what it takes to be champion, but I know I do. So Braxton and Harlem can be bigger, stronger, college athletes, whatever they wanna say. It all drives me to continue carrying this title and to be a champion here in WWE. So next week, both Braxton and Harlem can figure out why I always stay clocked in. Period.”

Bull Rope Match: Brooks Jensen VS Cappuccino Jones!

The second-ever Bull Rope Match for Evolve, and the Lost Cause has been in both of them! He lost the first to Tate Wilder, but he vows to turn his luck around here tonight. Will the Bad Man from Ala-Bam-Bam-Bam-Bama be feeling real good with a win? Or will the pot be hot and help Cap rise up the ranks?

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 4.23.2026

We get a random title match! Is TNA gonna pull an AEW and switch the titles for chaos reasons?

Published

on

It’s been a long weekend with Strangle-mania, WrestleMania, fallouts, bailouts, crash outs and 4/20 fog. I’m pretty sure I didn’t mind last week (you may be thinking to yourself, that I could easily check, but what’s the fun in that).

So I’m just gonna say we’ve had some solidly entertaining shows, and let’s see if this continues or if we start to tread water until Slammiversary is closer.

Ratings:

  • Bear Bronson w/The System vs Nic Nemeth: Nic wins via Danger Zone – ***
  • Dutch vs Matt Hardy: Dutch wins via Death Walks – ** 3/4
  • Katie Arquette vs Elayna Black: Elayna wins via Black Out – SQUASH
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Mike Santana (c) vs Rich Swann: Santana retains via Spin the Block – **** 1/4

Results:

Bear Bronson w/The System vs Nic Nemeth

Our favorite Nemeth, Ryan, is on commentary complaining about KC Navarro and reassuring everyone that he is indeed, Nic’s Brother, not KC.

A not so clean break, Bear throws some fists, connects a big Chop, and Nic is reeling early. Nic fights up with some jabs, quick chops, goes for a Crossbody, but Bear catches him and slams him down. A short moment to taunt, but Bear keeps laying into Nic with Elbows and Knees. Nic again fights back with some punches, a headbutt, but then gets flattened with a Spinebuster. Bear puts Nic into the ropes, distracts the referee so Lish gets involved.

Bear throws Nic around a bit more, Headlock gets applied, but Nic slowly tries to fight out. A few Uppercuts, a Superkick, Flying Lariat into Nic just jumping into the 10 Count Punches. FameASSer, but only a two count. Nic tunes up the band, Bear catches it, Chokebomb, 1-2-but Nic gets the shoulder up. Bear calls for the Fire/Thunder Driver, gets Nic in position, Nic slips it, posts Bear, Implant DDT and…Bear no sells it just to eat a Superkick! Only a near fall, but a neat sequence. Nic tries Danger Zone but Bear grabs the ropes to protect himself. Slams into Nic, Landslide from Bear! A near fall again, Bear starts the Ground and Pound so Nic powders and gets surrounded.

KC Navarro walks down the ring to distract The System, Ryan helps Nic get back in the ring. Superkick into Danger Zone! Nic wins!

Kaz comes out in Elijah cosplay, and some of Frankie’s best segments are when he’s just making fun of people. Elijah busts it up, beats up Kaz, says they will have a “Walk with Elijah Guitar Strap match”. Then he starts a little song that goes over fairly well with the crowd. A little lame, but not awful.

Dutch vs Matt Hardy

Matt comes out looking like he’s ready to slap a tornado. Matt pulls out a table, sets it up, grabs red spray paint and writes Sacrifice on it.

As soon as Matt gets in, Dutch attacks. They throw a few strikes, Matt tries the Twist, Dutch pushes off, tries Death Walks, but Matt turns it into a Crucifix Hold. Dutch walks to the ropes and grabs them with his teeth. Matt connects on a Side Effect, and then they head to the outside. Dutch gets thrown into the steps and then his head gets repeatedly smashed into the steps. Commercial break time.

Back from break, Matt gets bounced out of the corner, Sidewalk Slam from Dutch and then a Headlock has Matt down and begging the crowd. Dutch slams Matt back down, wants a Splash, but misses! Twist of Fate gets blocked, Matt turns it into a DDT. Then Matt finally hits the Twist of Fate. Dutch rolls out, Mat places him on a table, peppers in a few more punches and goes up. Matt with the Extreme Elbow, the wood turns out to be Japanese, but the one leg snaps. Matt repositions the table as the crowd chants one more time. Vertical Suplex sends Dutch through the table and the crowd is happy.

Matt looks to finish things but Vincent appears from under the ring. Slides in a chair to distract the referee and then interferes, which allows Dutch to hit Death Walks and win the match.

Dutch and Vincent look to make a larger example of Matt, but Jeff makes the save and doesn’t dance on the way down. Vincent powders, Dutch eats a Twist and Swanton.

Lei Ying Lee comes out ahead of Xia Brookside’s scheduled segment to explain herself. Lei is upset, she starts the promo off by apologizing for not speaking English perfectly, which is a great way to appeal to sympathy. She calls out Xia, Xia comes out and blames Lei for sabotaging her shot when she showed her the video of her dad. Xia is playing the delusional conspiracy victim. She tries to talk about being alone to Lei who came over from China alone. Lei apologizes and it seems like its hard for Xia to stay in heel character because Lei seems legitimately upset.

Xia says Lei is right, there’s a moment where it seems like they might reconcile. Xia said she made a mistake, the crowd isn’t buying it. Xia accepts the apology, they hug, but Xia deadpans to the camera and starts to ground and pound Lei. Xia DDT’s Lei, and Lei is out.

Katie Arquette vs Elayna Black

Elayna tries to big time Katie, hits a few Japanese Arm Drags, but Elayna kicks her down, and decides to strut around the ring and talk to the crowd. Kati tries to attack her while she’s being condescending, but Elayna dodges the PK, Katie lands back first on the apron and Elayna just points and laughs at her. Elayna with slow and deliberate offense, but the crowd tries to work Katie back into the match. She gets a small hope spot, but Elayna dodges the charge in the corner and hits the Black Out.

World Heavyweight Championship: Mike Santana (c) vs Rich Swann

They shake hands to start and we get the typical slow burn, tie up, push to a corner and then clean break into a little World of Sport chain wrestling. Test of Strength next, and they trade momentum, Swann turns it into a Monkey Flip, they are both flat, so we get the alternating near fall spot into the double Wrestler’s Bridge, Dropkick misses for all until the stereo Dropkick spot. It’s been three minutes and still no strike has been thrown. After a Frankensteiner pass through Rich is the first to connect on a Dropkick to the chest. Four minutes in and someone finally got hit.

Santana Chops Rich, they start to pick up the pace, Santana catches Swann with a Dropkick. Into an Alabama Slam, Snake Eyes and Santana is using his size advantage. They go to the outside, trade Chops before Santana just kicks Swann and then spikes him into the floor. We go to commercial. Back to te show Rich has Santana propped up on a chair, Rich goes around the world and Bootwash! One more, for a Yakuza Kick! Rich goes for 3 but Santana cuts him off with a Superkick and throws him back in. Santana flies and Rich catches Santana with a Superkick.

Swann wants to fly but Santana Kips Up, cuts him off and Super Falcon Arrow! Car crashy spot, but cool. Santana lights up Swann, Punches, Diving Shoulder, some up and over, Santana with a Gamengiri, after a few more counter attempts from both, Santana catches Swann with the Rolling Buck Fifty for two! Flash Cradle from Swann, he tries to turn it into more but Santana hits the Outline in Chalk! Cannonball into Batista Bomb and Rich still won’t stay down!

After a few seconds to collect himself, Santana keeps charging, but Swann gets his foot up twice. Santana doesn’t stop so Swann hits a Springboard Lariat. Back Kick, into 450 attempt, but misses, Santana tries another Rolling Buck Fifty but Rich passes by it and hits the Lethal Injection for a near fall. They trade kicks, Swann hits the Frankensteiner, Frog Splash from Swann…but only two! Santana Reverse Powerbomb, wants another but Swann turns it into a Destroyer!

Swann with his kick combo but as Rich hits the ropes, Santana hits Spin the Block out of nowhere! Santana retains.

Overall Score: 7/10

The first hour wasn’t bad, but was a little paint by numbers with the Matt and Dutch match probably acting as a turning point. Lei and Xia’s segment was great. Lei…looked so upset for real, it seemed like part of Xia’s fake out was legit with how well Lei was getting sympathy and trying her damnedest to repair the friendship. This could possibly set Lei up for another title run, I didn’t expect this, because I didn’t foresee Lei being able to evoke sympathy like a Chinese Ricky Morton from 1981. Then there’s the main event match…wow. That…had no business being free and being on a taped show. Imagine if that was one of the LIVE iMPACT episodes. That very well may have been the best match in TNA for far this year, and it had no story, no build and a commercial.

Ryan’s jealousy angle I’m here for, Kaz and Elijah is…something for them to do, Xia is the biggest cunt in the company right now and there were a few other little odds and ends to be interesting. Elegance Brand, Diamond Collective, The System…all had their own moments to build a story. But we had decent to really good wrestling and a great promo segment. I’m shocked, but this was objectively…not trash.
