Becky Lynch Says WWE Nearly Turned Her WrestleMania 38 Match With Bianca Belair Into a Triple Threat
On the Good One podcast, Becky Lynch revealed WWE considered adding a third competitor to her WrestleMania 38 title match with Bianca Belair, a change she resisted because it would have undermined the story they were telling. Lynch recalled returning at SummerSlam 2021 to take the title from Belair and praised Bianca’s grace through the feud, saying she wanted the finish to be a one-on-one payoff and that the narrative required Belair to win clean.
Their rivalry culminated at WrestleMania 38 when Belair reclaimed the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, bringing their feud to a close, and Lynch says that outcome was the right ending for the storyline. Lynch is now scheduled to challenge AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, while Belair has not competed since suffering a finger injury at WrestleMania 41.
