Berwyn Eagles Club to Stop Hosting Wrestling Shows Following Viral March 28 Brawl
The Berwyn Eagles Club has informed wrestling promoters it will no longer host wrestling events after a March 28 Ruthless Pro Wrestling show produced viral video of a fan being attacked and online rumors a stabbing occurred. Police later confirmed no stabbing took place; the venue is owned by the Fraternal Order of Eagles and operated by Chuck Marose Sr. and his wife.
Supporters launched a GoFundMe claiming the club lost its license, but Berwyn city officials said the entertainment license was not revoked and recommended increasing on-duty officers from one to four for future events. Conrad Thompson shared city correspondence noting municipal approval isn’t required for private-property wrestling shows, and the arena’s final scheduled events are tonight’s AAW “Crush & Destroy” and an All Star Lucha Libre card on Saturday.
