Damian Priest Slams Pat McAfee SmackDown Angle as WWE Builds Toward WrestleMania
Damian Priest openly criticized the Pat McAfee interview angle, calling it “sucks” and saying others felt similarly, a rare public rebuke as Friday’s SmackDown heads into its penultimate show before WrestleMania. WWE will use the night for heavy promo work — including the debut of Royce Keys and final pushes for Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu and Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams — with Jelly Roll rumored to be involved in the McAfee storyline; roughly 10,036 tickets had been distributed ahead of the show.
Elsewhere, AEW Dynamite saw a dip to 654,000 viewers and a 0.14 demo, with highlights including the Chris Jericho/Demand segment and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mascara Dorada, while CMLL confirmed its Friday Viernes Espectacular will air live on Fox Sports Mexico (FS2) as the promotion runs week two of its Universal tournament.
