Eric Bischoff Reacts to Pat McAfee Pulling Out of WrestleMania 42 Angle
F4W’s Dave Meltzer reported that Pat McAfee pulled out of his WrestleMania 42 angle after fan backlash, and former WCW president Eric Bischoff addressed the situation on his 83 Weeks podcast. Bischoff compared the fallout to celebrity appearances he booked in WCW, with co-host Conrad Thompson citing recent examples like Travis Scott and asking if talent has ever backed out in that manner during Bischoff’s tenure.
Bischoff said he hadn’t seen anything comparable in WCW and sympathized with WWE’s talent-handling team, noting that celebrities such as McAfee or Jelly Roll often avoid conflict because it can hurt their brand. McAfee’s return to wrestling remains unconfirmed, and it appears he has stepped away from the business for the time being.
