John Cena Teases “Something Epic” for WWE Backlash
John Cena teased a surprise role at WWE Backlash, tweeting that he’s “gonna try to do something epic” for the May 9 pay-per-view at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa. The 49-year-old said he promised “Club WWE something special,” hinting at an appearance or segment without confirming any in-ring involvement.
No matches have been announced for Backlash, and Dave Meltzer reported a previously planned tag match involving Pat McAfee and Randy Orton vs. Jelly Roll and Cody Rhodes was scrapped after McAfee opted out of continuing with WWE.
