Jordynne Grace Says She Got in Trouble for Michinoku Driver in NXT Match vs. Giulia
Jordynne Grace revealed she drew backstage heat from WWE after using the Michinoku Driver in her No. 1 contender match with Giulia on NXT in May 2025. Grace told Adrian Hernandez the bout was a fan favorite but that WWE flagged the move — citing the company’s policy against the traditional Michinoku Driver because of neck and spine risk, favoring a modified sit-out variation that she said she didn’t realize was the standard in the U.S. until after the match.
Grace praised Giulia and said she hopes to renew their rivalry on the main roster, where both women now appear on SmackDown — Grace was promoted in January and Giulia joined shortly after, currently in her second United States Championship reign. She was most recently defeated by Tiffany Stratton in a No. 1 contender match on the April 17 SmackDown.
