Kazuchika Okada to Defend AEW International Title Against Konosuke Takeshita at Double or Nothing
AEW confirmed on Collision that Kazuchika Okada will put the AEW International Championship on the line against Konosuke Takeshita at Double or Nothing on Sunday, May 24, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The matchup was made official following a backstage segment with Don Callis after Takeshita’s apparent miscue at Dynasty cost Okada a victory, intensifying the rivalry between the former stablemates.
By the time they meet, Okada will eclipse 300 days as champion with seven successful defenses, while Takeshita is a former 148-day titleholder who recorded eight defenses before dropping the belt to Kenny Omega at Revolution 2025. This will be only their second singles match — a rematch of Okada’s win over Takeshita in last December’s Continental Classic semifinals — as tensions continue to build ahead of the Queens showdown.
