Matt Hardy: WrestleMania 42 “felt very prostituted” due to advertising

Matt Hardy told The Ariel Helwani Show that WrestleMania 42 felt markedly different from the WrestleMania of old, calling the event “very prostituted” because of heavy advertising and a more mainstream presentation. He argued that big matches at pay-per-views need time and payoff, saying television should build stories but WrestleMania must “deliver the goods,” and expressed discomfort with how WWE has evolved and shortened some marquee matches.

Hardy also weighed in on the TNA–WWE relationship, suggesting that with WrestleMania behind them the companies’ interactions could ramp up again, and noted that The Hardys continue to work with Vincent and Dutch (The Righteous) in TNA. Jeff Hardy is slated to face Vincent on this week’s Impact while Matt is coming off a loss to Dutch on last week’s episode.
