MJF Says Dream Retirement Match With Mick Foley Was Planned — Here’s Why It Didn’t Happen
Two-time AEW World Champion MJF recently opened up about a dream retirement match he had lined up with WWE legend Mick Foley, describing the bout as something he had long envisioned. The AEW star credited Foley as a major influence and said the proposed match represented a meaningful way to close a chapter in his career.
However, MJF explained that the retirement match ultimately never came to fruition, pointing to timing and logistical obstacles that prevented the bout from taking place. While the match remains a “what if” in wrestling lore, MJF’s comments offered a candid look at how plans between top stars can fall apart despite mutual interest.
