Nikki Bella Provides 6–8 Week Return Timeline After Ankle Injury
Nikki Bella says she hopes to return to the ring in “6-8 weeks” after suffering a significant ankle injury that forced her to miss Night One of WrestleMania 42. The 42-year-old revealed on Instagram that she “fractured, tore and sprained” her ankle, confirmed she underwent surgery, and had been seen in a walking boot following a late-March SmackDown appearance after initially expecting a one-week recovery.
Bella was replaced by the returning Paige in the four-way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, a bout that Brie Bella and Paige ultimately won. Dave Meltzer reported that The Bellas had been slated to win the titles before Nikki’s injury altered those plans.
