NJPW and DDT Announce June 8, 2026 “Five vs Five” Event
Toru Yano and Super Sasadango Machine announced on April 20 that NJPW (Team Yano) will face DDT (Team Sasadango) in a “five vs five” gauntlet-style event on June 8, 2026, to be simulcast on NJPW World and Wrestle Universe. The promotion follows last year’s June 9, 2025 NJPW vs. DDT show — headlined by Yano vs. Sasadango — and promises another exhibition built around the companies’ shared history.
NJPW clarified the billing, noting “five vs five” does not necessarily mean five wrestlers per team or only singles matches; the card may include tag bouts and will feature at least five matches. Both Sasadango and Yano framed the event as one of sportsmanship and mutual respect, with each saying there is more to explore between the promotions and their own characters.
