NXT Talent Questions Purpose of WWE LFG After Season 1 Winner Tyra Mae Steele Cut
There is growing frustration in NXT after Friday’s roster cuts, with multiple sources questioning the purpose of WWE LFG after Season 1 winner and Olympic gold medalist Tyra Mae Steele was released. Bryan Alvarez reported on X that people in NXT are asking what the point of the LFG series is if its winner can be cut so quickly.
Steele had been appearing on EVOLVE programming prior to her release, including a challenge to Kendal Grey for the WWE EVOLVE Women’s Championship in a match taped February 20 that aired March 11. Her last WWE appearance came at the March 20 EVOLVE taping at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, where she competed in a gauntlet match for an EVOLVE Women’s title shot won by Wendy Choo.
