Paul Heyman Reveals Scrapped WrestleMania Plans Involving Rollins, Punk, Reigns and Breakker
Paul Heyman says he was set to be part of WrestleMania’s main event picture before WWE’s plans shifted. In an Instagram interview with his son Jacob, the Hall of Famer explained that the company originally geared toward a Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns program, which fell apart, and then pivoted to Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk — also ultimately scrapped — leaving Heyman sidelined by “fate” twice.
Heyman clarified those matches were planned World Title bouts rather than the two-night Undisputed WWE Championship main events, noting earlier rumors had Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk for the Undisputed title. When Rollins’ injury changed plans, WWE reportedly reshuffled the World and Undisputed title matches, settling on Punk vs. Breakker for the World title and Rhodes vs. Reigns for the Undisputed title before further changes.
