Shawn Michaels Wanted to Keep Je’Von Evans in NXT for Six More Months
As head of NXT creative, Shawn Michaels confirmed that several talents—including Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi—were called up to the main roster earlier this year, sometimes sooner than he preferred. Michaels said the timing of promotions can be abrupt and that he weighs developmental readiness when shaping the next generation of WWE stars.
Speaking on the Masked Man Show, Michaels admitted he was “begging” to keep Je’Von Evans in NXT for another six months, believing the extra time would benefit Evans’ development before a full-time main roster transition. The comments underscore the tension between creative development in NXT and the main roster’s immediate needs.
