Triple H Admits Creative Missteps, Urges Balance in WWE Storytelling
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H (Paul Levesque) told Joe Tessitore ahead of WrestleMania 42 that he’s the first to acknowledge when creative ideas don’t land with fans, saying some shows won’t be “A++” and the product has to “ebb and flow” throughout the year. Levesque emphasized that not every segment can be a home run and that admitting mistakes is part of the job as he manages WWE’s weekly creative output.
He also discussed the challenge of long-term storytelling, explaining the need to balance today’s big moments with tomorrow’s opportunities so the company doesn’t paint itself into a corner. Levesque, who was named Chief Content Officer in September 2022, added there wasn’t a single definitive moment when he “took over,” but rather an evolving responsibility to keep the creative team aligned.
