Will Ospreay Calls Out TNA Over Talent Restrictions, Labels Move “Cowardly S—t”
Will Ospreay criticized TNA Wrestling for blocking talent from working with wrestlers contracted to other companies, comparing the promotion unfavorably to NJPW and WWE. Ospreay recalled when NJPW allowed his IWGP Junior Heavyweight title match with then-WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne after ironing out details, and said TNA’s decision to pull approval for inter-promotional matches is “cowardly s—t,” arguing it shows the company doesn’t value its roster or want to help them grow.
Ospreay, who also called himself a longtime TNA fan and praised the 2004–05 era, said the move contrasts with how other promotions handle cross-company matches and suggested it diminishes opportunities for talent and fans. Both companies have pay-per-views this weekend — TNA Rebellion on Saturday in Cleveland and AEW Dynasty on Sunday in Vancouver — and Ospreay’s full interview with Josh Martinez is available online.
