WrestleCon Confirms Carlos Silva Reimbursed Travel Costs After Pulling Leon Slater

WrestleCon announced that Leon Slater, who had been booked to face Ricochet at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on April 16, 2026 in Las Vegas during WrestleMania week, was pulled from the match just days before the event. The move was part of a wider decision by TNA President Carlos Silva to withdraw multiple TNA talents from appearances against AEW wrestlers, which generated considerable backlash.

WrestleCon said Silva personally called to explain his reasoning and offered to make amends; the promoter requested reimbursement for Slater’s flight and hotel and has confirmed those expenses were paid. The originally advertised Ricochet vs. Slater main event was scrapped, with The Demand vs. Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and Michael Oku instead closing the show.
