WrestleCon Main Event Nearly Scrapped After Gates Of Agony Travel Issues
Ricochet’s originally scheduled singles match with Leon Slater was pulled and replaced on short notice by a trios main event at the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow, as Ricochet teamed with AEW’s Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) to face JetSpeed and Michael Oku after TNA withdrew their talent from cross-promotional matches. The impromptu headliner drew concern when the GOA duo encountered travel trouble en route to Las Vegas.
According to reports, Kaun and Liona’s flight was delayed and they arrived late at the Horseshoe, rushing straight from the plane and leaving luggage behind while relying on carry-on gear. Promoters extended undercard matches and added an extra bout between Man Like DeReiss and Ethan Allen to buy time, and despite worries throughout the evening the revised main event ultimately took place as planned.
