WWE Focuses on Future Talent After WrestleMania 41, Nick Khan Says
WWE President Nick Khan told The Bill Simmons Podcast that after WrestleMania 41 he and Paul “Triple H” Levesque made a conscious decision to prioritize the company’s future, noting many top male stars were 40 or older and ratings and attendance had softened. The pair visited the Performance Center to assess the talent pipeline and asked Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom to help accelerate development and exposure for rising stars.
Khan detailed changes that followed, including expanding NXT touring beyond Florida with more house shows, PLEs and occasional TV, and highlighted Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans as examples already contributing on the main roster — citing Femi vs. Brock Lesnar opening WrestleMania 42 night two as proof the plan is working. He added there are “soon to be others” coming up from NXT as WWE leans into its long-term talent strategy.
