Adam Copeland and Christian Cage Capture AEW Tag Team Titles at Double or Nothing

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage emerged as the new AEW Tag Team Champions in the opening match of Double or Nothing, defeating FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in an I Quit New York Street Fight. The finish saw Beth Copeland neutralize Stokely Hathaway before being shoved into steel steps and, as Cash Wheeler and Hathaway were sent through a flaming table, Cage locked in a sharpshooter and Copeland used a spiked board and crossface to force Harwood to say “I quit.”

The win redeems Copeland and Cage’s history with FTR: they defeated the duo at All Out, took time off after Beth’s injury, then lost a rematch at Dynasty. Copeland had challenged FTR to one final match with the stipulation that if they failed they would never team again — a challenge they fulfilled by walking out of Double or Nothing as champions.
