AEW and WBD deny reports they were alerted to WBD sale
A report from John McCullen, citing agent Nick LoPiccolo, claimed AEW was “given a heads up” about the sale of Warner Brothers Discovery so the promotion could “prepare a contingency plan” in case new ownership moved in a different direction. The story suggested AEW may have been briefed in advance about potential corporate changes affecting its future.
Both AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have publicly refuted those assertions, denying that the promotion received special notice or that future decision-making was coordinated as described. Representatives for both entities pushed back on the narrative, calling the claims inaccurate.
